I think that is valid. I love soccer, big fan and I'm having a blast with the game. However, I can understand why those that have PS4/X1 would feel this is a lesser version. It simply is. He only reason I got this for Switch and not my PS4 is between school, work, and helping with my girlfriends mom who is recovering from cancer, I'm simply not home.
I sum it up this way, as a portable soccer experience, it's the best I have ever had. As a FIFA experience, it's one of the worst I have ever had. Most FIFA players get it for the presentation, the bells and whistles, or else they would play PES, which I feel is a better gameplay all around. Let's be honest, this version is skimpy on the bells and whistles.
I have never played any of the "farm games" not this, no Animal Crossing, no Harvest Moon. I always wanted to try one, but don't want to plunk down large chunks of cash to try a game I might not really enjoy.
If this game hits the $7-$10 mark, I think I'll give it a try
If this is true it's huge news. Either way more production means more people that get to enjoy the Switch. Which should translate to hopefully even more great games being available to take to class with me.
Thank you. And it might be an exaggeration, since only two names come to mind. I am very excited about Doom, skyrim and the like, not only for those games but for the prospect of seeing more of those games available on the go.
I think what I remember seeing is more comments on articles about third party games that weren't coming and how many people say I don't play that type of game anyway. I'll be the first to say that isn't the majority of posters here. On the outside of the Nintendo community, there is a thought That Nintendo gamers don't want anythg but Nintendo games. Right wrong or inbetween, it's pervasive. I worry that with some on the outside that feel that way, and then games that don't move well, it's an easy thought to just nix some of the bigger support by saying it isn't wanted.
I don't support buying gimped offerings. And companies have to acccept some blame for sales as well, but personally I would love to have as many good games to take with me as possible.
There is truth to that. I'm new to Nintendo, but just from this site I can't count the times I have read" I don't want game x, too violent, too mature, graphics aren't cartoonish, I wait for good games like Mario, etc. A large number of Nintendo owners don't seem to want to touch anything that isn't Nintendo or cartoon feeling, of course only based on this site.
And I can vouch for the second system. I was excited for the Switch, I preordered, this was my first system I ever preordered. And it's my system of choice for games, coming from a Sony guy since the PS2. But I wouldn't have bought he Switch if I hadn't already had a PS4.
Not a knock on Nintendo at all, there are quality games, but there are so many third party and Sony games that are also good, that by being a Nintendo owner only you will probably never be able to play.
Hopefully some of the Switch owners break the mold, because it looks like third party support is actually coming, with lots of good indies, and some big name games on the horizon.
I bought it for Switch and I didn't expect big numbers. I love FIFA and was excited for portable football. But the stories of what was missing had me reconsidering until the morning. I really only bought it because I'm gone from the house all week with school and work.
With that said it's a good experience, being able to play on the go. Even so I would have lied more features, the game is good but FIFA players want the presentation and extras or they would be PES players wouldn't they?
Hopefully this shifts more numbers and also hopefully FIFA does a bit better next year.
I had been nervous about getting this without reviews. I was picking it up when I went to the store but now I'm REALLY torn. Career is really what I mostly play an sthat is hands down better on my PS4.
I didn't care about frame rate, or journey or if the animation was as good. All I asked was the same mode on the go, and it looks like this is nowhere the same experience. It's really a shame.
I am nervous about this. In general I don't buy games that have not been reviewed unless I am comfortable with the company. Fifa usually is a day 1, but not hearing anything about the Switch version is making me nervous.
I intend on picking up my preorder Friday morning on the way to class, so I can play during the day, but I'd be lying if I hadn't had several qualms.
Full disclosure- my love for the vita is mostly what got me to early adopt the Switch. I love Sony, and to this day wish they had loved the Vita in the west. So much potential ruined by greed and ineptitude.
Really the Switch and the PS4 aren't completely different experiences. I don't think Sony could do what Nintendo is doing with the Switch, I don't think Nintendo could do what Sony is doing with the PS4.
I prefer Sony sticks to home consoles, becusee if they DID get in the portable/hybrid market, I just know they would add a bunch of propriety expensive nonsense. The only wish is that I could play some of the great games on my PS4 on the go. At least Persona, I still have half of P5 to finish, and I wish I could play it on the Switch.
This is really encouraging and I intend on lokong into every one of these games. I never really thought the day would come when these types of games would be possible on the go, after the vita failed. And to think that it's the Big N that is making it possible...
I know some people will start the inevitable" broken port" discussion. Realistically, not everyone has multiple consoles. I have a PS4, and actually still play it almost as much as the Switch, but that doesn't mean I've bought every game. This year has brought a lot of quality games, as well as turmoil to those in my life, so I have spent more time away from home. I haven't finished persona 5, well full disclosure I'm still in June, for those that understand what it means, lol. I haven't opened horizon zero dawn or nioh.
So there are games like Doom, games like evil within, even skyrim, that I haven't been able to lay because adulting. And with so many quality games announced for the holidays, plays the hustle and bustle of the holidays, immonky goijg to get farther behind. Wouldn't it be nice to have those type of games to go?
I for one applaud every third party that is putting support not just words behind the Switch. Maybe the frame rate isn't what you would like, maybe the graphics get compromised, but I'm sure some of you played the original ds. Tell me how "unplayable and uninteresting" those games were for not having Ps2 and Xbox quality graphics. Yea I thought not.
As long as the developer isn't trying to get over or sell a broken product, I'm all for bringing whatever they can to the Switch.
@BensonUii I canceled mine. Not even for a malicious reason, I did get skittish about whether a patch would be out at release, and with FIFA and Mario, I just didn't see the point in buying this day 1 without KNOWING it was going to be patched.
I get 2K and FIFA yearly for my PS4, and was losing forward to getting both for my Switch this year. Not sure about this now. I thought the space requirements were...harsh, but until the issue is resolved it's a no go.
With FiFA, Mario, Skyrim, and Doom, there isn't time to play everyyhg and looks like 2K is playing the waiting game. Unless there is a Black Friday sale but I wouldn't count on that.
RIght message wrong messenger. I agree there isn't a world where we should have to pay over retail, and I personally won't put a DIME in a scalper pocket. But really Reg? You and your company just had the dumbest preordering process in the US I have ever seen! No advance notice, releases in the middle of the night. Sites that said they would send notifications did not. Orders put into the cart that wouldn't go through. And you have the nerve, the unmitigated gall to lecture about paying scalpers? This process is the ONLY reason scalpers can charge what they do.
With that said, is it possible that stock will hit shelves? I guess although if that's the case why have such a small preorder window? If there is definitely going to be stock, just take the money of all that want to give it. I ordered Destiny 2, do you know what DIDNT happen? Amazon didn't say no we can only take 100 preorders. Because there is stock of Destiny 2 and everyone knows it.
I have spoken to my GameStop about a 8 minute drive from my house and the manager who I'm fan acquaintance of says they will get stock but they don't know how much. That's a far cry from stock will be on shelves. If you really want to get a Snes classic, I say camp out. Is that convenient, not in any way. But I personally would sit outside with my Switch, a cup of hot cocoa and like minded individuals for hours before I let scalpers profit.
Being new to the Nintendo party, obviously I haven't played many Mario games. What I'm going to say will be blasphemy to most, but I meber really saw the appeal
Of the plumber. Yes I know, my first wxperience was Mario 3, as a 4 year old, I loved playing it with my cousins. I was in love with the outfits(Tanooki for the win).
Nothjng after that appealed to me, and so I never played another Mario. I tried the Mario in my iPhone and it did nothjng but reaffirm my disdain. So why am I so excited for Odyssey? I think it looks gorgeous and the ability to explore just has me captivated. I am going to skip FE Warriors because I know i will be pure Mario.
This isn't the sort of game that will move consoles in my opinion. I just hope they allow me to try Sunshine in my Switch. As much as it's been mentioned in this article, perhaps I missed a gem in that game.
I never played NMH, but I remember reading on another site how insanely fun it was. Now I have a chance to actually try on my Switch. I love the visuals, I hope it looks similar. Most indies go for a less gorgeous approach.
@Al_Godoy This is where I'm at. I love FIFA and my PS4, I'm one of the "sheep" that buy it every year, so my girlfriend says. My mind can't get over the fact that the Switch version is going to be worse, it makes no sense to not get it for the PS4 but...
The very thought of taking Fifa with me to school and work counteracts all that. Even though I'm very afraid this won't be a great version, portability alone puts it at least at the same level as the PS4 iteration.
I plan on getting this game, but hopefully I won't be buying it. October 20 is my birthday, so the plan is to get this as a gift, so I can spend my cash on Mario.
IM glad they update so regularly, but I just log in for the log in bonus. There isn't a lot to the game unfortunately. Maybe one day they make a game closer to original for mobile.
I put in so many hours on my PS3, but he news this is a quality port had me really thinking about picking this up. It would replace BOTW as my go to" play my Switch to pass time while I'm somewhere I REALLY don't want to be " game.
The best part of immersive games like those are the ability to genuinely tune out those annoyingly fake convos that strangers seems to want to have with me in the doctor/dentist office.
Yes, the jerk is strong with this one I have been told daily 😏
Do you know what my problem is? It's not how stupid Nintendo played this. I mean I railed against the fact that I needed to preorder in he first place. I was upset that instead of telling us in advance, we have to stalk online like a crazed ex to hopefully see when we have the honor of throwing money at the Big N.
No my problem is even when I played by the crap rules they made me play by, it STILL didn't work I signed up for 2 different alerts that never alerted me! I got on target to check out and it never allowed me to, even though I had it in my cart. I played the game as they said I had to, and STILL am in the same boat as if I didn't.
Sorry for the rant, but there has to be multiple better ways than this.
Well, I never got a notification from GameStop. And so of course I didn't get to order. Allegedly I'm on a wait list but that means next to nothing. I had honestly stopped even checking which of course is why it went live.
Being new to Nintendo, I don't know if I understand the "Capcom and Nintendo have a relationship" thing. I'm in college now, and from what I understand from my business classes, companies only have a relationship with money.
Now my issue in micro with Capcom and macro, well mostly everyone , is why does every company love the Switch and yet games are not coming from third parties? It's almost like the Switch is the friend zone guy that every girl extols their virtues while they hook up with the sleazy football star.
I know, patience I have been told. Anywho, I and a couple of my PS4 friends are keeping our eye out for MH World, and none of us have ever played an MH game, so I can understand Capcoms play. They only need to get a much smaller percentage of the PS4/Xb1 install to have the same success that a 40% attach rate with the Switch would get. Calculated risk I guess. But no real excuse for. It bringing Disney to the Switch.
Assuming that the game is respectable, physical, always physical. Why would I give up the discount I get on physical to get a download that takes up what space I have on my Switch?
As an aside, I am actually considering getting WWE which I have not played in any form since Snes at my cousins house as a child. I'm a sucker for a good career mode.
I do want this game. First DQ for me since I played 3. I jumped quickly to the FF train, but I can't say the last 3 FF have done it for me, so I'm happy to go give DQ a chance again.
The real issue to me is if and when this will be on Switch? I will def get it for my PS4 if the Switch version isn't released, but with work, school, gym and a girlfriend, I don't have 60+ hours to devote to a RPG on my tv. Being able to play in increments and on the go is perfect for me. RPGs need to start flooding the Switch the way they have the 3ds.
This is the kind of thing I wish happened more. I don't care about getting new skins, I don't care about trophies. Getting a game is a incentive to finish a game. And this builds a sense of loyalty among the fans. I really hope this comes to the Switch.
As an aside, I hope the RPGs start to take off, that's the genre perfect for the Switch. I care a lot more about making the Switch my go to RpG console than about whatever ports Capcom wants to cash in on.
Hyrule Warriors was my first foray into the musou genre men had a supeising amounts of fun, considering I had never played a Zelda I didn't know many characters.
I love fire emblem, and have already started thinking about what my favorite warriors will play like. I am excited for the game but REALLY excited for a real fire emblem game.
If only I could have relationships in Warriors to make completely OP children that I could dominate with.....
I'm happy for those that are happy with the announcement. I never played the revelations series, can't say if it's great or not, but I have several posts saying I don't like digital downloads
Just from reading the comments, seeing this is a old game from 3ds, I'm not certain if I would buy it. While I know ports are a quick way to make a buck, I mean a welcome addition, I would rather have a new game. Or RPGs.
I have to say this doesn't really look like much of a game, more like a game for a smart phone. I wouldn't mind seeing the brawler, as far as silly fun o guess. Doubt I would but that either.
Being an American in America, it does strike me as ...odd that so many see this as immoral or embarrassing. Have any of you seen what poses as mainstream tv?
I am getting this game in some form, RPGs are where my heart lies, though I play lots of diff genres. The issue? I need to know about the Switch version. Just as I PREFER my FIFA on the go as opposed to the PS4 that I rarely am home and have unfettered TVaccess to play, I REALLY prefer time intensive RPGs to be able to be played on the go.
@MegaTen I'm a PS4 owner. I had the PS3 before that and the PS2 before that. I'm not a graphics are king guy. PS2 had the biggest variety of games, as did the PS3 and the PS4. I like good games.
I know some here will argue, but Sony has a wonderful collection of first party games, as well as RPGs. I also have a Switch that I bought on launch. I play the Switch a lot live Mario Kart answer BOTW. I intend to try Splatoon 2. Why? Because they seem to be great games.
I think most gamers love good games, not great graphics. As the Switch gets more good games, people's interest will grow. The only reason I think about power at all is because developers use it as a reason why they aren't porting games to the Switch.
I would love to get the option to buy games for the Switch instead of my PS4, because most games I would prefer to play on the go. I wish Nintendo could make a compromise to put a bit more power into the console, so we could get more games.
I'm glad those that attended still had fun. In that regard it's very much like my entire experience with the game. Technical problems galore, not what Niantic said they would deliver, but I manage to have fun when I play.
That doesn't excuse them for. It fixing the single player experience and instead thinking up more ways to throw things in for multiplayer enjoyment only
@AcesHigh Again amen. I'm tired of people pushing digital. I don't want a digital game. And as convenient as shoppijg online has become, for some reason game consoles are best done in person.
One person one sale, little opportunity for scalping and the dedicated are able to get one. All I ask is for stores to have decent stock and to have o the door how many units there are.
You know off the rip of you are able to get one and if not then you drive on. Simple
@Spoony_Tech Amen. I know everyone is against lines, but frankly I would rather sit at s store at 4am knowing I have one than playing"is This hour when any info is released"
Internet brings more comfort then leaving and driving to a brick and mortar, but is it honestly more convenient to play this weird guessing game? I've actually had some good experience in line talking to other like minded individuals.
Whike this makes me feel a little less bad about about missing the orworser, it just prove she how dumbly Nintendo handles preorders. Why cat they just announce the date that preorders will be accepted?
I've given the game a try again for the legendaries and it is pretty tough. Impossible to take one down without over 10 people. Which I sguess is their point, but I know 3 other people that play. Now I know that millions do, I'm saying I personally know 3. So what we are supposed to do is coordinate as 4 adults to be free all the time to see when a legendary is available, and then also hope a random 6+ other people are there to help, and pray there are no connection issues?
OR, we could stop making this game so gym focused, and work on making gen PVP content and trading.
I have to say I have been defending gyms since the update which I never did. Not that it's fun. But I tried it. And I don't t coins right. I'll have 3 gyms and get 50 coins. Then I'll have one fun and get 50 coins.
Can we just leave the gyms alone and let's get trading/battling other trainers in the game? That would make the game so much more fun and Pokémon like.
@JoeyJoey95 Yea when I saw the title I thought they were going to have zones in which you can catch dmcertsin Pokémon, other than the same 6-10 that normally appear in your area. That would have been a much more inclusive and useful event.
@UmbreonsPapa Good points abiut power rangers. I never got why people liked MM( I was introduced to Ultraman from my friend in Tokyo) but I have watched a few of the later series and they are a lot better.
As for Castlevania, some of the dialogue , for lack of a better phrase, tried too hard, but it was in no way over the top poor taste. I have read fantasy books since I was 8, and I have to say, p-ss being compared to weak beer is pretty common in fantasy.
The gore was perhaps a bit in your face, but the source material for Vlad the Impaler, as well as most of the takes on Dracula are much worse. I understand a lot of us grew up with Castlevania, but this isn't really G rated material.
For those that prefer their Belmonts less edgy, can I recommend Captain N?
I'm not sure what bothered people about the thumbnail.
Anyway, Adventure Time is a quality show. Not what I wood call a kid show, unless the kid is a teen. Not for vulgarity, just the writing is perhaps a bit over a small kids head a lot.
I used to watch this show with my 11 year old brother(I was 19) and he often said he didn't get it, but did laugh at a couple things. This and regular show are two really good shows that I don't know any "kids" that actually watch it.
As for the game, I have never played an adventure time game, here's to hoping for a Zelda-lite experience? The world of Oo is built for exploring, there is a lot of backstory and things to discover.
This is a big get for Switch. I never have played a wrestling game, but I know there are lots of fans. If this is a good version, I might even pick it up. I want to show that Switch owners will actually purchase GOOD third party games.

This isn't the sort of game that will move consoles in my opinion. I just hope they allow me to try Sunshine in my Switch. As much as it's been mentioned in this article, perhaps I missed a gem in that game.
Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Will Be a Switch Exclusive in 2018
I never played NMH, but I remember reading on another site how insanely fun it was. Now I have a chance to actually try on my Switch. I love the visuals, I hope it looks similar. Most indies go for a less gorgeous approach.
Re: Shovel Knight: King of Cards Brings a New Adventure to Switch in 2018
I need to try the other shovel knights first, I have been putting that off too long.
Re: Dragon: Marked for Death is the Next Game From Inti Creates - Exclusive on Switch
I Am a ARPG fan, I just wish it was more isometric.
Re: Floor Kids Will Start the Beat on Switch This Holiday Season
I don't normally do these type of games, but my cuz and I have decided we are getting this just to replay breaking 2: electric boogaloo.
Don't judge us.
Re: Battle Chef Brigade Aims to Deliver a Festive Feast on Nintendo Switch
I think this is the type of game that I give a chance based on concept. Of course I will need a demo and to see what pricing looks like.
Re: EA Talks Up the Positives of FIFA 18 on Switch Not Using the Frostbite Engine
@Al_Godoy
This is where I'm at.
Re: Fire Emblem Warriors Special Edition Is Also Coming to North America
I plan on getting this game, but hopefully I won't be buying it. October 20 is my birthday, so the plan is to get this as a gift, so I can spend my cash on Mario.
Re: Nintendo Outlines Upcoming Special Events for Fire Emblem Heroes
IM glad they update so regularly, but I just log in for the log in bonus. There isn't a lot to the game unfortunately. Maybe one day they make a game closer to original for mobile.
Re: Digital Foundry Comes Away Very Impressed With Skyrim On Switch
I put in so many hours on my PS3, but he news this is a quality port had me really thinking about picking this up. It would replace BOTW as my go to" play my Switch to pass time while I'm somewhere I REALLY don't want to be " game.
The best part of immersive games like those are the ability to genuinely tune out those annoyingly fake convos that strangers seems to want to have with me in the doctor/dentist office.
Yes, the jerk is strong with this one I have been told daily 😏
Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing
Re: Guide: Where to Pre-Order Your Super NES Classic Edition
Well, I never got a notification from GameStop. And so of course I didn't get to order. Allegedly I'm on a wait list but that means next to nothing. I had honestly stopped even checking which of course is why it went live.
Re: Talking Point: Capcom, the Nintendo Switch and Gaming Business Realities
Re: NBA 2K18 Will Launch Digitally First On Switch, Retail To Follow "Fall 2017"
Re: Persona Q2 is Confirmed for Nintendo 3DS
Where are the RPGs for my Switch?
Re: Dragon Quest XI Sold Over 2 Million Copies in Two Days in Japan
I do want this game. First DQ for me since I played 3. I jumped quickly to the FF train, but I can't say the last 3 FF have done it for me, so I'm happy to go give DQ a chance again.
The real issue to me is if and when this will be on Switch? I will def get it for my PS4 if the Switch version isn't released, but with work, school, gym and a girlfriend, I don't have 60+ hours to devote to a RPG on my tv. Being able to play in increments and on the go is perfect for me. RPGs need to start flooding the Switch the way they have the 3ds.
Re: Dragon Quest XI Rewards You With A Copy Of The 8-Bit Original When You Finish It
This is the kind of thing I wish happened more.
Re: Cordelia and Female Robin Added to Playable Cast in Fire Emblem Warriors
Hyrule Warriors was my first foray into the musou genre men had a supeising amounts of fun, considering I had never played a Zelda I didn't know many characters.
I love fire emblem, and have already started thinking about what my favorite warriors will play like. I am excited for the game but REALLY excited for a real fire emblem game.
If only I could have relationships in Warriors to make completely OP children that I could dominate with.....
Re: Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 Are Coming To Switch Later This Year
I'm happy for those that are happy with the announcement.
Or RPGs.
Re: Video: Here's What Senran Kagura Looks Like On Nintendo Switch
I have to say this doesn't really look like much of a game, more like a game for a smart phone. I wouldn't mind seeing the brawler, as far as silly fun o guess. Doubt I would but that either.
Being an American in America, it does strike me as ...odd that so many see this as immoral or embarrassing. Have any of you seen what poses as mainstream tv?
Re: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age Heading to the West in 2018
I am getting this game in some form, RPGs are where my heart lies, though I play lots of diff genres. The issue? I need to know about the Switch version. Just as I PREFER my FIFA on the go as opposed to the PS4 that I rarely am home and have unfettered TVaccess to play, I REALLY prefer time intensive RPGs to be able to be played on the go.
Re: Oceanhorn Devs See "Bright Future" For Switch, Despite Smartphones Already Overtaking It In Raw Power
@MegaTen
I'm a PS4 owner.
Re: Niantic CEO Explains Just What Went Wrong At Chicago's Pokémon GO Fest
I'm glad those that attended still had fun. In that regard it's very much like my entire experience with the game. Technical problems galore, not what Niantic said they would deliver, but I manage to have fun when I play.
That doesn't excuse them for. It fixing the single player experience and instead thinking up more ways to throw things in for multiplayer enjoyment only
Re: Walmart Cancels All Super NES Classic Pre-Orders
@AcesHigh
Again amen.
Simple
Re: Walmart Cancels All Super NES Classic Pre-Orders
@Spoony_Tech
Amen.
Re: Walmart Cancels a Number of SNES Mini Pre-Orders
Whike this makes me feel a little less bad about about missing the orworser, it just prove she how dumbly Nintendo handles preorders. Why cat they just announce the date that preorders will be accepted?
Re: Pokémon GO Fest Endures Problematic Weekend But Legendaries Arrive Globally
I've given the game a try again for the legendaries and it is pretty tough. Impossible to take one down without over 10 people. Which I sguess is their point, but I know 3 other people that play. Now I know that millions do, I'm saying I personally know 3. So what we are supposed to do is coordinate as 4 adults to be free all the time to see when a legendary is available, and then also hope a random 6+ other people are there to help, and pray there are no connection issues?
OR, we could stop making this game so gym focused, and work on making gen PVP content and trading.
Re: Guide: Where to Pre-Order Your Super NES Classic Edition
Yea so I missed my Walmart window at the gym.40 mins on the treadmill and nothing. I guess illl have to camp out refreshing Amazon on my Saturday off.
Too bad that it would be so much work to give a time that they would be available....
Re: Pokémon GO iOS 1.39.0 & Android 0.69.0 Update Rolls Out
I have to say I have been defending gyms since the update which I never did.
Re: Pokémon GO Worldwide Events Detailed, Including New Safari Zone
@JoeyJoey95
Yea when I saw the title I thought they were going to have zones in which you can catch dmcertsin Pokémon, other than the same 6-10 that normally appear in your area. That would have been a much more inclusive and useful event.
Re: Feature: Castlevania Show Producer Adi Shankar On Respecting Fandom And Future Seasons
@UmbreonsPapa
Good points abiut power rangers.
Re: Random: McDonald's Japan Thinks You Might Like A Broccoli-Flavoured Pokémon McFlurry
No kit kat? Best thing when I was in Japan was finding the awesome kit kat flavors that will never come state side.
Re: New Adventure Time And Ben 10 Games Are Coming To A "Nintendo Platform"
Re: WWE 2K18 is Confirmed for Nintendo Switch
This is a big get for Switch. I never have played a wrestling game, but I know there are lots of fans. If this is a good version, I might even pick it up. I want to show that Switch owners will actually purchase GOOD third party games.
