Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Games & Release Dates 2017

Rumncoke25

@Romeo-75
I also read the kotaku and Engadget reports and I'm pleased. I never considered canceling my preorder, but it's nice to read some positives. The world is so negative, video games are my escape.

I don't mean no one should have complaints. I've voiced a few here myself. Big picture I think the Switch is a wonderful machine packed full of potential. Here's to hoping Nintendo uses every bit of it. 👌🏾

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Games & Release Dates 2017

Rumncoke25

@Gen0neD
Birds of a feather my friend. I'm getting killed with games for my PS4, I mean doesn't match usually signal a slow period? Lol

I see 6 games on that list that I definitely will buy, another 5 that interest me, and 3 others I know nothing about, but will keep my eye on. 14 games mean more than 1 a month. Exactly how many games do people need to have?

Re: Matching Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons Sure Look Pretty

Rumncoke25

I preordered the neon switch, not because I LIKE them(I don't), but the grey looks...sterile. I would have preferred they had a matching option, both look better than the mis match.

If they HAD to go mismatch, why not a green and gold? It could have been marketed as a Zelda edition. Could have marked it up and sold quite a few.

Re: Virtual Console Will Not Be Ready For Nintendo Switch Launch

Rumncoke25

This was a given. Silence is associated with negativity not positive news. So what they told us was the LEAST info. What I need to know instead is when wil VC be available, and more importantly, HOW will it be implemented. Like will GameCube make its way to VC or no?

If Nintendo told the public the VC is on hold so they could get Mario Sunshine ready, I imagine few would have gloom and doom.

Re: Battle Princess Madelyn To Bring Classic Ghouls 'n Ghosts Action To Switch

Rumncoke25

This to me is exactly what indies are great for. You don't need a graphical powerhouse. I have never played G&G, I have seen it played, I was too young to be allowed to play( my older cousin wouldn't let me touch his Nintendo at the tender age of 3). Officially on my radar.

Nostalgia sake, does anyone remember a game where you fed a blob jelly beans? I seem to remember my cuz playing it but maybe it's a child's dream.

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Games: The Complete List

Rumncoke25

Preordered BOTW, and that's the only definitive. Not really a knock on ninty, but lord is this a busy game period. I'm working feverishly to finish yakuza 0, so I can plunge into hyrule. But nioh and zero dawn keep whispering all slytherin like in my ear....

I have persona 5 preordered and ready to to lose myself in that, so I have no time for naught else. I am considering has been heros, the price is low and it seems like it might be ok.

Re: Nintendo France Expects Switch To Beat Wii U's Lifetime Sales In Region By Year End

Rumncoke25

I don't know the market in France, I've only been once on a school trip. Is it unreasonable to outsell the Wii U? It seems the Wii U was nintendos biggest flop. I never saw marketing and didn't know many that owned one. It would seem on marketing and portability alone, the Switch would outsell it.

The nearly 1-1 attach rate with BOTW seems about right to me. I would figure that 4 out of 5 preorders also preordered zelda.

Re: GameStop Director on Demand and Timing for the Switch

Rumncoke25

I'm positive he march release is for fiscal reasons, but it's still a smart idea. You want to have the Switch established by Christmas. That helps for the games, and the best marketing for non gaming families is months of seeing the Switch in action.

So when johnny asks mom for the tablet hat he has seen other kids for, she walks in and gets the Switch bundled with Mario. Seems a good idea to me.

Re: Nintendo Addresses the Question of Link's Green Tunic in Breath of the Wild

Rumncoke25

I like the thought of being able to customize. There are lots of weapons, so why not have different types of clothes? That way "purists" can still have green link with the extended beanie. And those that prefer variety can wear something else.

Even better if the clothing bestows stat/play bonuses. And if it helps make the green powerful in an end game situation.

Re: Pokémon GO Experiences a Big Boost in Revenue with the Generation II Update

Rumncoke25

I have started playing again, sporadically, and it's nice to actually have the spirit of discovery again. That feeling of seeing a new Pokémon is exciting. The new berries add some strategy. Do I want to make a Pokémon easier to catch or get more candy? It's a nice touch.

It's not all rosy though. The evolution items... they don't appear. At all . I think that getting them via pokestops is the worst way to get them. They just don't appear. I go through 15-20 stops a day and have not seen one yet. Of the 4 friends I have asked, only one has gotten an evolution item. Plus I feel like they cut the items you used to get at a stop. When I used to play, I routinely got 5-7 items. Now I get 3 flat, and I'm lucky if more than one is a pokeball.

All in all it's a decent update. Solid B. I figure after a coullle weeks the same problems people had will appear with this, with the same gen 2 Pokémon being the only ones that appear over and over.

Re: Bill Trinen on the Addition of DLC to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Rumncoke25

I don't like dlc and I don't condone holding out content to nickel and dime the consumer. So in the first article I was pretty set that I wouldn't be buying it.

I have thought about it. This is my first foray into hyrule. It looks huge. I'm thinking animated witcher 3 type huge, but with hyrulian lore. With that type of scope, couldn't they make a very large story in the dlc, that offers lots of gameplay, as well as fleshing out the story? And as a new visitor to hyrule, might not this heighten my understanding/enjoyment?

I still can't say I like dlc in theory, but I'm going to wait and listen from others about how the dlc shapes up. If it's too notch, I might be adding my first dlc to my first Zelda purchase.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Countdown - 1-2-Switch Would Have Been Ideal As 'Free-to-Start'

Rumncoke25

It's an interesting concept, free to start. That is something that the honchos in Kyoto could have got behind. I'll be honest, it's not my type of game. I prefer meaty single player, even in games I play with friends, that's is the dessert to my single player dinner. This looks not single player at all.

So you throw in 5-7 mini games free. Great. But I would say the audience that would enjoy those games would be fine playing those 5-7 games with their friends. Premium sales would be minimal and so would profit.

I don't feel this game is well though out. It screams tech demo to me, and to many that have seen it. All the actors in commercials won't change that. We can debate what strategy would go best to move units of 1-2 Switch, or we can discuss whether they should have used the effort to make this on another game to have had available for launch month.

You can guess which one my opinion leans towards 😏

Re: You'll Only Have Access To 25.9GB Of The Nintendo Switch's 32GB Of Storage

Rumncoke25

I don't understand why this is a story. We all knew how much memory the Switch came with and unless you don't understand how devices work, we all knew the OS would use some of that.

Complaints are still complaints. Would it have been nice to have more memory? Sure. The question is would it have been nice enough to justify paying more? The answer for me is no, since I try to avoid digital purchase where I can(I am a collector)

For those that said yes it's worth paying more, here is news. You CAN pay more for more memory. And it's not at a huge expense by having to buy proprietary(am I still sore about my vita? Maybe). So I'm not sure I see the problem.

Re: Nintendo Switch Dev Kits Are Nice and Affordable, According to Reports From Game Creators Conference

Rumncoke25

@TeslaChippie

Okami would be day 1. Add viewtiful joe to that too. The kit being well recoeved is great news, and I would love to see capcom flood the Switch. Street fighter I don't care about(unless it's marvel vs capcom I rarely see paying full retail for fighters) but there are so many titles I would love ports/original entries into.

I think people will be surprised with the third party support in 2018. I don't see the Switch becoming the new AAA destination, but lots of support, and maybe a AAA franchise or 2.

Re: Talking Point: Lack of Nintendo Switch Details Close to Launch Made Wobbly Cam 'Leaks' Inevitable

Rumncoke25

I'm not a fan of leaks and I have avoided videos due to that. But this is getting to a ridiculous time frame. There had to be a direct and I mean like Monday.

I preordered day one. I'm not a "hater" in anyway. I feel that I have Nintendo my support to the tune of $300(plus tax). Is it too much to know the details of what will and won't be available when I get the Switch in my grubby little hands?

There needs to be confirmation of what will be available on the eshop. Virtual console needs to be fleshed out as to what will be on it. It's not just what fans want to know. It's also factors that influence potential buyers. Answering the questions could fuel the hype machine going into launch.

The silence leads many to believe there is only negativity to be hidden. That isn't smart marketing.

Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Could Revive Local Multiplayer

Rumncoke25

@ThanosReXXX
I'm rather proud of it, but my girlfriend says it looks like an ostrich with a firecracker in its nethers.

I'm sure she meant a peacock strutting in its rainbow glory 😎.

Next time we all get together for a match, I'll have her record and make the gif my avatar and hold a poll for nintendolife to decide.

Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Could Revive Local Multiplayer

Rumncoke25

It's really two separate issues-SHOULD local multiplayer be revived, and then CAN Nintendo do it.

Anyone who has read my comments at all know my thoughts on local multiplayer. My first experience was with golden eye at a sleep over. I was hooked. We would make up excuses to stay the night together, the 4 amigos, pretend to sleep, so we could get up after parents went to bed and game all night.

I know in the age of adult hood this isn't ideal. People move away, people have work and families. I get it. But there's something magical about being in room together. You want to trash talk on a headset? It's better when you can look them in the eye, do your "you are a loser even though I'm the guy doing a lame dance" dance (trademark pending). It's a throwback to childlike days of yore, sitting at an arcade together plotting how to make $5 last all afternoon. That's what gaming was to me, and it is nice to be able to get back to those roots on occasion.

Will the big N be able to do it? No one can, because online is such an integral part of so many people's lives. It's easier to head to the bedroom and meet up together on a server than all getting hours out of the house to meet in person. I do think the Switch can make local multiplayer an actual option again, sometimes for some people. To me, that's good enough.

Re: Disgaea 5 Complete Gets A Solid Release Date For Nintendo Switch

Rumncoke25

Ok I know there are some that will scoff at this, I haven't read the comments, but I think it's great news. I love the series on PS4, being able to have it on he go is great. And perfect release date.

I know some will complain about not having 4 AAA games in the first week. But let's take a step back. I have horizon zero dawn on the look out(still want to see reviews first), mass effect andromeda, P5(that's a no brainer) all before summer. Factor in I'm playing yakuza 0 right now, nioh will get picked up some time, and that I'll be making my first foray into hyrule in a couple weeks....

People only have so much time and so much money to spend. I think spacing games apart is perfect. I'm hoping I can look forward to a good release every 6 weeks-8 weeks.

Re: Random: Digital Version Of 1-2-Switch Listed For Just £1.99 On Amazon

Rumncoke25

I'm interested to see if they deliver that code.

I won't go along with the comments that I'm certain say that's what price it's worth. I would actually give it a try for 10-15, because I know it took money to make. But it would really only be a game that was touched when my girlfriend had her friends over and they wanted to play.

Re: The Eevee Naming Trick Works for Espeon and Umbreon in Pokémon GO

Rumncoke25

So for 6 months I have held a stable of Evees all 730 and above. Waiting for the day I could make umbreon. Having been full of Pokémon, I deleted all by one of my 16 evees while walking my dog, so I could catch the lickitung during the valentine event.
😕
☹️
😖
So now I am forced to play this game again to capture an evee worthy of the umbreon name.

Re: Updated Unreal Engine 4 Release Officially Adds 'Experimental' Nintendo Switch Support

Rumncoke25

Well that's good news. Not saying it's earth shattering news, or that it should get the haters on board. Just good news. Anything that makes developers jobs easier is ALWAYS welcome, regardless of whether it's used or not.

I have been saying here won't really be news until E3. Let the devs have time to play with this, see the Switch move some units, and I think 2018 should see some games.
