Re: Video: FIFA 18 Gets Shown Off In Japanese Nintendo Switch Commercial

Rumncoke25

As a chelsea fan, go you blues!

People are going to complain, frame rates, graphics, whatever. I would take a portable FIFA and DQ with me wherever I go. Happily. Huge FIFA fan, and I'll tell you how it looks is not the concern. How does it play, what modes are available(career and ultimate, I don't wxpect my journey but we will see) and does the online work well enough for matches.

If those boxes are checked yes, that's a hat trick for me. Some people have the wrong expectations I believe. It's not a portable PS4, it's a Switch. I played a ton of games on the 3ds and none of them looked anywhere as good as this. And it didn't kill my enjoyment/

Re: Nintendo Details Changes Being Made to Fire Emblem Heroes in Early March

Rumncoke25

I like the game, although the story is meh. Good to see that esp will be easier I am having the hardest time getting once I got to lvl 15, I'm dragging between 17-19.

Best fighters so far are my 3 5 stars- Takumi, Tharja, and Marth in that order I feel. I have 3 4 stars that were pretty decent before I got my 5 stars but since you can only use 4 people....

Which takes me to what I would lie to see change. Bigger battles. It's a simplistic fight, it would be great to have 5 people with me, and maybe have levels where it's not an even fight. Like my 5 against 7

Re: There's No 'Concrete Answer' for GameCube on the Switch Virtual Console, But There's Hope

Rumncoke25

So the news is they didn't say no? Lol is this the state of Nintendo gaming?

As an aside, since I'm new to Nintendo, the VC is of huge imprtance to me. I would like to try Mario sunshine as well as a few other games. It was one of the reasons(albeit a lesser one) that I jumped on board the preorder train. It doesn't have to be a day one thing, but I would like to know if it is happening or not.

Re: Talking Point: The DLC Expansion Pass for Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Both Surprising and Inevitable

Rumncoke25

I'm anti dlc in last cases. I'm a PS4 gamer and all the ones I have seen my roomie get are lackluster to say the least. I don't care about extra clothing or skins. I don't care about a reskinned gun. It all seems to be just more ways to nickel and dime.

For BOTW in particular, I care about nontujng offered except the original story. More story is always good. But $20 good? Idk, it rubs me wrong. I voted that I won't get it, but if word of mouth of the story is great then I'll think about it.

Of course that won't be until the holidays, and by that point I will have moved on to another game. So yea probably not.

Re: Editorial: 'NX' Development Documentation Gives Few New Insights, But The Leak is Far From Ideal

Rumncoke25

I don't see a good reason to leak this. I'm new to the Nintendo game so to speak, and I am amazed at how little info they allow out. How does this leak help that? Wouldn't it make a company that's already secretive feel justified in being secretive?

There is a place and a time for leaks, in serious life. But video games are my hobby. An escape. I don't need to have leaked scenes from games. I don't need to have spoilers. I don't need to have insight to dev kits. I just want to know what games are being developed, how much money said games will be, and and info about how online works(virtual console, where for art thou...)

i wish Nintendo was more open, but for the moment I'll accept that there is a method to the madness. Until E3 at least. In exchange, the big N will hopefully get those kits out to everyone, and focus on using that time to get the info that consumers need ready for release.

Re: Nintendo Releases Updated Nintendo Switch Trailers

Rumncoke25

@Hikingguy
You nailed it. I don't generally criticize, because I don't know what the plan is, but I think 1-2 Switch is a missed opportunity. At $25, you can sell that as a "value" game that people take a chance on. No way do people pay what BOTW cost for this game.

And that's a shame really. It's not my cup of tea, but I think families would enjoy the game at a value price.

Re: Nintendo Releases Updated Nintendo Switch Trailers

Rumncoke25

Well it is a marketing blitz I'll say that. I've decided that the big N is focused of marketing to non Nintendo fans at the moment. Probably figuring fans would be onboard regardless.

Maybe after the first month, they will start advertising more games, and talking about third party offerings, who knows. But yes I guess advertising the multiplayer is a good way to maybe get new people onboard

Re: Nintendo Switch Will Have A "Lot More Announcements" on Third-Party Games Soon

Rumncoke25

As excited as I am, I can understand those with concerns. Basically theSwitch needs more than indies, even if some of the indies look a lot of fun. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for 1/4 of games on other systems to get ported. I have a PS4 for those but not everyone can get multiple consoles.

The bigger thing to me is hoping that their are 3rd party games made just for Switch. These would take advantage of the system much better than a watered down port. I personally am counting down the day I can take FIFA with me to work, but give me a top notch title developed by level 5, atlus, or sega for the Switch and go ahead and take my wallet with you on the way out.

Patience will be the name of the game. I don't see anything huge announced before E3. Doesn't mean a Switch direct in the next 2 weeks wouldn't go a long way to answering questions.

Re: Talking Point: Splatoon 2 is Set to be a Vital Early Arrival on Nintendo Switch

Rumncoke25

Let me say that I have no previous experience or knowledge of splatoon before coming to this site. I saw the avatars, and learned of the squidlings 🐙 here. And I was interested. What really gets me though is how enthusiastic everyone seems about the title. That's the real sign of a good game to me. You can get ANYONE interested with the right ads. You can impress some people with killer graphics. But when you see true affection from fans towards something...that's the sign of a game I want to play.

I don't like multiplayer shooters. I don't like having to plan my life to be online with people that are usually better than me because they are online all the time. However, it seems that the first had a good single player campaign so I have decided to give splatoon 2 a try. I'm excited to be able to get on during the demo. And knowing that LAN is such a proponent heartened me.

It's awesome that there is a nice treat for us early adopters. Yes I know it is a stress test for their online as well, but it FEELS like this is a treat, and thats appreciated.

Re: Poll: Does Nintendo Switch Need Streaming Apps and a Web Browser, Or Is It All About Games?

Rumncoke25

I'm not fussed about any of it, my phone and lap top are better web browsers, and I can watch any app at both of those options. With that said, I hope they update with apps at least, because to the public I think having the option to use these apps are a requirement.

I also think that with apps and a browser they can go after some people that aren't even big gamers. For me personally though it's no big deal. I'm concerned about the Eshop and big third party support.

Re: Video: Nintendo Comes Out Swinging With New ARMS Footage

Rumncoke25

The more I see of this game the more fun it looks. I would not pay $60 in any way, but this for $30? I would bite. I would still need to know the exact roster and how deep of a single player story mode there is.

I know some have said 1-2 Switch should have been a pack in, but I think ARMS would have been a much better pack in. It looks a better game, and something that causals could have fun playing. Those who want more of a challenge could also enjoy by implementing more strategy.

Re: Bomberman Is Coming To Arcades As Bombergirl

Rumncoke25

Lol silly konami, bombermans for kids.

I never played bomberman, I can't imagine wanting to plop quarters(or I guess yen) endless into a cabinet to see anime boobies. I would just see that at home.
😐
😶
I mean THEORETICALLY. Yea theoretically.

Re: Talking Point: Considering Nintendo's Portable Future

Rumncoke25

Personally I think that the Switch should be the new portable. Portable with home abilities. They can improve on it, making a Switch mini without home playability, at a cheaper price. Also has the ability for a Switch Pro(better name pending) that has maybe a more capabilities.

I expect the 3ds to last this year and it's a great machine, but should the Seitch do well, I could see the new portable being. Asked off the Switch in the way that the DS has been the basis of all Nintendos recent portables. Say a 10 year life span between the 3 skus, also allowing time for price drops and for the big N-predictable ( seee what I did there 😏) to get to concocting the next experiment.

Re: Project CARS 2 Creative Director Loves Nintendo Switch, But Don't Expect A Port

Rumncoke25

@Mogster
When you say it, it makes sense. In my mind however....

It is like being in a relationship. And your partner spouts your praises. You're so attractive, you're so funny, you're a great person. But if they never touch you, and never laugh at your jokes, and don't really spend time with you, doesn't it start to ring hollow?

It just feels like lip service. I know the system isn't out, I know there will be very little before E3 that is announced. It would just be nice to have someone do more than give lip service. There's a saying" to damn me with faint praises". Small compliments with no real action can be seen as a slight.

Re: Project CARS 2 Creative Director Loves Nintendo Switch, But Don't Expect A Port

Rumncoke25

I usually make a habit of saying x game was never going to the switch so I'm not bothered. I never played project cars, I'm not bothered.

But I am bothered by a sentence. They love the Switch, but can't make a game for it. Why can't they make a game? Is it difficult to program for? To expensive? Too weak? And if those are problems, what exactly is it that these devs love?

I'm past the point of debating about the games. Why do so many in the industry seem to be enamored with a machine that they have no intention of developing for?

Re: There Are Currently 'No Plans' For Final Fantasy XV On Nintendo Switch

Rumncoke25

I've read all the comments carefully before I added my two cents. A lot of people are upset that more people aren't upset at this. I have a PS4, I bought final fantasy day one. And it's a beautiful game. I was ok with it being diff. What's not ok is the story was...bland to be polite, nonexistent in many parts to be frank.

I played it to the end, and I'll say I enjoyed most of it. But would I buy it again for the Switch? No because the story was lacking. The switch would struggle to handle this game without flambéing your hands! Add to that, the majority of Switch owners wouldn't pay full price for the game, and I think it was expected not to be there.

People do want third party support. But it has to be reasonable. This game was in development when I was in grade school! What world would they have been developing a port for the Switch? So you want them to start now, so the game can be released in 2018, and flop as no one pays $60 for a nearly 2 year old port? That would be the end of that support wouldn't it?

No what "fanboys" want is an ip made for the Switch. Or, in some cases, a release alongside the other consoles. Neither of those things will be happening in the first 6 months of the switch's lifetime. I understand the feeling of dread with every" not coming to Switch" story. Let's just be realistic. There won't be anything coming until after E3, and in my opinion, not in 2017 full stop. They want to see how this will sell first.

It starts with E3, it will make or break over the holidays, and 2017 will be when we see if third parties intend "Switch" it up.

Re: Yep, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Takes Place After Ocarina of Time

Rumncoke25

@lizuka, @bigwhoady, @liberatedanimal
Thanks for the replies. I think OOT should be where I start, I asked a few people I know and of the 7 I asked, 6 said OOT. My roomie was the lone dissenter, said majoras mask.

I really am almost as excited for virtual console as I am for the Switch. If it's live within the first month or so, I czn just play classics to tide me over from BOTW to the holidays.

Re: E3 2017 To Offer Public Sale Tickets, Though They Come With a Hefty Price

Rumncoke25

10 years ago I would have been sitting by waiting to get a ticket. I thought e3 was the holy grail of all things gaming. When it went journalist only I lamented my chance to go. Then comes internet, and streaming of nearly every big reveal. And the fact that several big hitters have their own events....

The kid in me would still like to do it just to say I did. But can I justify it? 150 isn't really bad, but the cost of flight from Miami to La round trip, plus rooms and eating... I'll probably pass.

Besides having to take more vacation away from the cruise my girlfriend wants to take this winter isn't good for my continued health lol

Re: Take-Two Executive Reiterates Plans for Long Term Support of Switch

Rumncoke25

@FragRed
Yes the wording was specific. Hopefully they meant all we can announce in a " mums the word until E3" way. Third party support will be he difference in a medium success to a blockbuster success. And no I'm not saying every game.

Just show the public that they can also get several third party titles to top off their 1st party offerings.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks A Web Browser Because It's A "Dedicated Video Game Platform"

Rumncoke25

Hmm. I have also never used a console browser, but reading comments a lot of people have. And apparently, Wii U seems to have had an awesome browser. Therein lies the problem.

See, apparently the Wii U is a failure. Even on here, I here people say it failed, that Nintendo is doomed because they lost the plot. Seems they made a great browser for the Wii U and it failed, so looks like Nintendo decided gamers must not particularly NEED a browser.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong. For me personally I don't need it, but having a browser included wouldn't have upset me. Just saying maybe the Wii U has more to do for the lack of a browser.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Retweet Campaign Hits Target for Hero Feathers Giveaway

Rumncoke25

I'm glad to get the feathers, but I honestly didn't know how promotion worked until yesterday. The incredible amount of material needed makes it almost worthless. I had praised the game for not needing to pay to enjoy it but I see where they expect to make their money lol.

I guess my 4 star March may be close, another few thousand feathers, but I doubt I ever get the material without another "event" like this one

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Discusses Nintendo's 'DNA' and Switch Bringing Players Together

Rumncoke25

The exciting part for me and my Switch is hat I'm basically new to Nintendo. I have seen marios, but it never really seemed my cup of tea. Never played metroid. Never played F-zero. Played a Zelda game for about a hour.

So I'm excited about the games so many of you seem passionate about. I tried professor Layton on 3ds and liked it. Same with animal crossing and Kirby. I hope Nintendo brings the heat at E3

Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Super Bowl Ad Was a Huge Success, But Why?

Rumncoke25

@lighteningbolt79
I'm as Sony as it gets. My first system I personally bought was the Ps2, I had the PS3, I have the PS4, I even bought the Vita! I have never had a Nintendo console, other than a 3ds, for rpgs.

And I have a Switch preordered. My roomie also ordered one, simply on the strength of HOPING that series lik Pokémon come to it, and the portability of playing games like FIFA on the go. Do I think that is what every PS4 owner will do? Not a chance. But can 1 in 5 or 1 in 4? Possible.

It's all anecdotal. What I see in my circle, or what you see in your circle, are both small drops in the hundreds of millions of possible consumers. We will see how things go, but I never played a Zelda game and I'm looking forward to BOTW. Win lose or draw, it seems Nintendo is doing something right with marketing.

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Outlines His Nintendo Targets, Laying the Groundwork for a Successor

Rumncoke25

@Yasume
100 mill is beyond expectations for several reasons, they would need to either unify all types of gamers(casuals, mobile, hardcore and non) to get the Switch, or make every console gamer feel the need to have the switch as a 2nd console.

But you don't think they can shift 20 mill? Supplies willing, I would be surprised if they don't move 10 mill by this time next year. I base that on what I EXPECT to be a exciting E3, as well as holiday Mario, and a bundle that, again, I EXPECT to be released.

Re: Nintendo's Dev Teams Rival Western Counterparts In Terms Of Skill, Claims Miyamoto

Rumncoke25

I really haven't played much of the. Oh N outside of the 3ds, but I have had a lot of fun with some Nintendo games. Just imagine the quality of games with more power behind it...

I'm not asking them to change what they do. By how can anyone think Nintendo devs being more skilled at using unreal engines and I assume others to be a bad thing? Give a skill and devotion more tools, and the results can only be better in my opinion.

Re: Nintendo Hopes the Switch Can Be A Bridge Between Home Console and Portable

Rumncoke25

@Tarvaax
I whole heartedly agree, if they want the Switch to take off, they need to make it clear that to play the games you need a switch. But they will not abandon the 3ds yet.

I say, if at E3 they show 2-4 killer games, xenoblade, Mario, monster hunter, and Pokémon, plus a notable third party or two, then they can make the push to say make the switch.
