I replied because, quite frankly, your original statement was based on a lot of nothing. You misinterpreted what I said, so I had to respond again. Now you’re basing more predictions off a hypothetical new product launch and saying they will have zero AAA third party games for their next console.

Anyway, I predict you’re wrong on the first account. I guess we’ll know within the next six months who is right.

@uptownsoul I’m not hoping for a thing. I don’t care if TotK is the last AAA Switch game they release this year. But I doubt it will be.

Now you're hedging your statements by saying "may not". They haven't announced their back half of the year yet. Nintendo previously had two consoles to support, and they stopped producing one of them by the end of the 2016. It seems like a moot point given that information.

That's also around the time they discontinued the Wii U. Are you saying the Switch will be out of production in November of this year?

Also, they’re not going to announce a bunch of new stuff without a Direct.

Doubt Hollow Knight Silksong gets shadow dropped on Switch when it's launching straight into Game Pass.

@-wc- I don’t tend to think of games in those terms anymore, honestly. For me, it’s more like, what are the best indie games on Switch? There are so many to choose from, and even more that I haven’t played, but either way, I doubt I’d mention a game you’ve never heard of.

As far as sports games go, Ollie Ollie World came out earlier this year and is apparently very good, so maybe that? Haven’t played it, but I think it reviewed very well and has even made some end of year lists.

@-wc- who says they’re new players and not the same people saying it over and over again?

When there were few games on switch, it’s easier to see why some would recommend it. Now? It’s like recommending Snake Pass or any of the other fine, but otherwise forgettable, eShop titles.

Golf Story was (and still is by many every time it goes on sale) overrated, so I’m not surprised at all. Sucks that there are a lot of performance issues.

Having played it on GC, it’s hard to go back to on Switch. The camera is weird, and the controls feel clunky. You may be better off waiting for the updated/modernized version releasing in 2023.

Not really random or surprising; they built a guitar out of cardboard years ago.

I guess the broader question is, why shouldn’t all of their back catalog be made available in some form on the current device? There’s no need to single out one game as ‘needing’ to exist on Switch. This game is part of their legacy, same as any other.

Probably not. The used game market makes them no money. Better to supplement your income by reprinting hard to find games than let resellers take all the available money.

@Ultimapunch Why would they be unavailable? Game Pass isn’t tied to the Xbox storefront. It’s not even tied to the Xbox—you can get it on PC only if you want.

I figured he was the author of that piece. Yet it’s mostly not about the 3DS vs Vita, it’s about the Vita vs smartphones, so it doesn’t really make the claims you’re implying it does.

Inspired is putting it lightly. Death's Door is inspired by Zelda while still putting forth a unique world and style. Many elements here look like they're directly lifted from Zelda, while dropping the parts that made it stand out.

@Teksetter I don’t feel impatient about receiving it—I’ve actually been fine playing in handheld on my OLED, despite growing accustomed to it on my original Switch. Everyone is experiencing production and shipping issues, and I understand that. Just communicate it to your customer. Supposedly they’ve started shipping, but the tracking information doesn’t provide any actual data right now.

preordered it back on 10/10, back when they were thinking it would ship by November. Obviously, they either lied to themselves or us. It’s poor on their part, and always better to underpromise and overdeliver.

Played it for a time on Game Pass. While it didn’t cost me any money, I’ll never get that time back. At this point in my life, it wasn’t worth the price.

MS has Forza and Halo. They’ve had a bunch of games come day one to Game Pass, but I can’t think of much else they’ve put out for the year.

@Aurumonado no, you aren’t. That’s a 32GB cart and—while it has the whole game on it— they definitely patched it a couple of times post release.

@kingbk KH wasn’t ported, it’s streaming. They specifically had this made for the Switch, just like other AAA devs have done in the past with games like DOOM and The Witcher 3.

No. Those games are discontinued worldwide, not just in NA.
