@pikachupikachup the anniversary edition is $20 regular price iirc. It upgrades to the S2 version if you already own it. It is like HL if you own the cartridge in that once you buy the upgrade to AE it is a full version of the game digitally and no longer requires the cartridge, from my understanding.
@AussieMcBucket Elden Ring is much more approachable than Dark Souls, although there are similar elements present in it that may put you off.
Dark Souls is, to me, a much tighter experience. Which isn't to say it's better; Elden Ring is just massive and sprawling in ways the other FromSoft games are not.
The Duskbloods, the most unknown known exclusive coming to Switch 2 this year. ER: Nightreign was well received, but multiplayer is not what people expect out of FromSoft.
What would a meaty SP campaign look like at this point? How long would one be? I don't play a ton of sports games, so I'm not even sure what, if any, competition there is in the space.
I'm not saying the complaint isn't valid, but it is refreshing to be able to turn on a game and not be inundated with information about modes I don't care about and not even know where to start because the mode is buried in a list.
I tried out Madden when there was a demo weekend, and was completely lost and noped out of it after a minute.
Bought my kid FC one year, and had a ***** of a time just getting him into the game because I had to create a friggin' EA account.
@AnonyQ I don’t feel like they got bored making it, but I do feel like instead of iterating on a concept over a series of levels, they obsessed over new wonder effects, and the core game was super easy, with the only really challenge coming from the extra levels.
Even finding the bonus collectibles in every level was much easier than in prior games.
Ultimately, Nintendo’s push to make multiplayer, camera-ready games/modes is a mistake. They keep reminding me about the “c” button every time I turn on the console, as if that will make it catch on.
I would really love to know the usage stats around the camera feature, because it seems like an albatross hogging valuable system resources.
@JohnnyMind I wasn't implying the site shouldn't have reviewed it whenever the review was ready. It is surprising that the release lags months behind in some places—I wouldn't consider something available in two months elsewhere soon, but that's me.
@kal_el_07241 they would probably have to pay to resubmit it and it wouldn’t change the actual rating since there are other M themes, so they probably figure why bother?
MS sits on a trove of already-made games that are suitable for the Switch 2 that I am more interested in. Lets see how their ports of current-gen games that are announced turn out.
@HolyGeez03 They released another Mario Party since Superstars (Jamboree, plus a S2 version with some new content), so I wouldn't get your hopes up on any older MP titles getting new content.
@LastFootnote Glad you're excited to revisit this one (or play it for the first time). Wish I felt the same way, but I've already played it on a base Switch and unless the new levels are actually challenging (something only a handful were in the base game), this is an easy pass for me.
If you're not into sports/tennis, I could see why you wouldn't care about Mario Tennis Fever. The Yoshi game gets a pass from me since it seems aimed at a younger audience (and we haven't seen much from it regardless). More game announcements are coming.
@Scarmucci probably a reference to the first iteration being released complete, while this one is still unfinished. Also, the title of this is "REMAKE", which doesn't tell people who don't know a lot about this version of FFVII that it is the first of three games in a trilogy.
@Polvasti Supposedly a lot of the install size is the language packs. Regardless, SE hasn't put a single game on cartridge for Switch 2, so let's not pretend they ever considered it.
Plenty of people said the same thing I did. If you like it, that’s fine. I don’t see you responding to every other person who voiced an opinion different from yours.
7/10. Great bones, and I was fine with the individual biomes, but it doesn’t come together. Scanning stuff for lore and all the hand-holding really drag it down. Forced backtracking to unlock an upgrade in your possession is bad design.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Gets Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade, Out Now
I thought this might be the case when it dropped 33% in price over the weekend. I’ll probably just stick with the S1 version and pay the upgrade fee.

@pikachupikachup supposedly that was fixed a week or two after the original S2 Edition?
Re: Mewgenics Console Release Is In The Works, And Switch 2 Is "The Frontrunner"
@Krull he previously said Summer, iirc.
Re: Mewgenics Console Release Is In The Works, And Switch 2 Is "The Frontrunner"
Switch/2 makes the most sense for any indie game, change my mind.

Re: Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection To Be Delisted Just Two Years After Release
I remember playing JP on SNES. I do not remember it being good, but maybe I was bad at it.
Re: Square Enix Reveals Save Data Bonuses For Its New HD-2D Game
So, no FFVII bonuses, a game that just released and is published by SE, which seems like an odd choice to leave out.
Also, they're releasing it two weeks after Rebirth on Switch 2. It's like they're trying to get this game to bomb.
Re: Marvel Cosmic Invasion Update Adds Crossover Character Palettes, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
I would love it if these guys got to do a Simpsons brawler next.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Switch 2 Edition + Meetup In Bellabel Park
@h3s Yeah, the last level was a gauntlet compared to everything else. It was HK’s Path of Pain in Mario.

Re: Oblivion, Skyrim And Fallout Switch 2 Physicals Will All Be Code-In-A-Box, Bethesda Confirms
@Metazoxan a win would be all of them being full cartridge releases, IMO.
CIaB is the worst case scenario; can’t share that.
Re: Oblivion, Skyrim And Fallout Switch 2 Physicals Will All Be Code-In-A-Box, Bethesda Confirms
@Metazoxan It says Indiana Jones IS a full cartridge.
Re: Mini Review: The Perfect Pencil (Switch) - A Sharp, Horror-Tinged Metroidvania With Splashes Of Hollow Knight
Not sure I would rate focus on narrative over gameplay as a strength, but this sounds intriguing and was not on my radar at all.
Re: Preview: So Far, Super Mario Bros. Wonder On Switch 2 Isn't Making A Great Case For Itself
@Pikachupwnage glad you like it, but it’s not for me and the system would be better without it. I never said it didn’t work.

Re: Metroid Prime 4 & Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Sales Get Off To A Slow Start
I think Nintendo has leaned too much into the warriors games in general.
MP4 is a game that deserves better, but has a number of issues that undermine its core mechanics that holds it back from true greatness.
Re: Talking Point: Where's Your Nintendo Labo Now?
Truth be told, I never took it out of the box.

Re: Review: Dispatch Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - A Cracking Superhero Caper, With Some Naughty Bits Covered Up
You had me at “lack of gameplay not for everyone “. This type of game and the “walking sim” are not what I want in a video game.
Re: WWE 2K26 Is Reportedly On The Way To Switch 2
Not a shock considering 2k25 is already on it.
Re: DOOM's Switch Release Still Has A Compatibility Issue On Switch 2
@SillyG I know what you’re saying, but I haven’t seen anywhere where that has been stated for digital versions of the game, only the cartridges.
Re: DOOM's Switch Release Still Has A Compatibility Issue On Switch 2
@SillyG What are you talking about? A Switch 2 Edition is the same as an native version for Switch 2.
Re: MLB The Show 26 Skips Switch 2 Release As Sony Sticks With Switch 1

@Waluigi451 it’s DLC plus an upgrade, so I wouldn’t expect it to be under $20.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder + Meetup In Bellabel Park Arrives On Switch 2 In March
Possibly the least exciting first party release of the year.

@Nep-Nep-Freak How else would you implement this feature when the platform holders do not have tools that support it on their devices?

Did they ever fix this on S2 or is it still kinda middling?
