I don’t know that either of those two non-retail releases should count against their score, but I guess Nintendo should learn a lesson about their middling, digital-only games.
I don’t get all the love for this game. The Wonder Effects are cool, but instead of building off of them to ramp up the difficulty/challenge, they focused on coming up with a variety of effects that are one and done.
I like that because this information came from Bloomberg, it's given the "NEWS" tag, while the Pokémon Eevee minifig from a LEGO leaker was labeled "RUMOR".
Will be interesting to see what the difference in battery life is with this on versus not on. Still hoping a few of the bigger (yet unannounced) indies and third party games get native S2 Editions, such as Witcher 3, Diablo, and Outer Wilds.
I wonder if Nintendo prioritizes the games that are (so far) incompatible with this mode for S2 Editions?
Nintendo embargoes reviewers from spoiling their games, but has no problem showing large swaths of its movies before release.
How many new looks do we need? It's not like the first one had a great story to begin with. If they want to tell me they've ditched the pop music soundtrack this time around, great, but otherwise, let the movie have some surprises.
I had no idea those earlier games were so overpriced. I figured they were $20-30 each at most. Kind of insane pricing by Capcom, trying to make this look like a better deal than it is.
They really upgraded the visuals and art style for this. I kind of burned out on the original near the end, but maybe I should try and pick it back up.

“When you look at Game-Key Cards, for us, our goal with Nintendo Switch 2 – similar to what we were able to accomplish on Nintendo Switch – is to have the broadest and deepest library of content we possibly can,” Doug Bowser said.
“And that includes our publishing partners. And Game-Key Cards are a way that our publishing partners are able to bring more content onto the platform, deeper and larger, more immersive content on the platform.”

Nintendo is publishing this game, not a third party. Maybe he got it wrong, or maybe they altered their stance, but it still is worth asking them why this game is the first Nintendo-published title to go GKC.
As stated already, Doug Boswer, in an interview said:

@PALversusNTSC Why wouldn't they have a dev kit? They put LEGO Horizons and MLB The Show on Switch 1. MLB is an ongoing series and should receive a Switch 2 version at some point, even if it's not this year.
@Olliemar28 The game profile sidebar for this is wrong. It says the S2 edition launches in May; that's the physical version only, not the one on the eShop.
The physical edition launches on the same day for both consoles.
@theberrage Exactly. It'd be one thing if this was like the NES/SNES mini, where you bought it and that's it, but no, you have to pay a subscription price to make it worthwhile.
The shell itself is an overpriced novelty at best, and the entire package (shell+subscription) is an expensive nostalgia trip most won't get much mileage out of.

Innovation without iteration.

@AussieMcBucket at $260? There is zero chance of that.
Re: Rumour: Minifigure Scale Pokémon Lego Appears Online In New Leak
This is more leak than rumor.
Re: Shenmue III Enhanced Is Coming To Switch 2, Physical Editions Confirmed
Sure, for this release SEGA puts it on a cartridge. (I’m aware SR Crossworlds is a S2 Edition cartridge.)

@larryisaman It's a toggle in the system settings, kind of toward the bottom IIRC.
Re: Brilliant And Brutal Puzzle Adventure Tunic Is Getting A Switch 2 Update
@cyrus_zuo I don’t think it’s brutal, but it is demanding and a step up in difficulty from a game like Death’s Door.
Re: Brilliant And Brutal Puzzle Adventure Tunic Is Getting A Switch 2 Update
Great news. I played it on S1, but knew it could look and run better on better hardware.

Well, Blizzard teased Diablo 3 on Switch with a light switch and denied that meant anything, IIRC.

Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, 3rd March 2026
@Dang_69
Yeah, I know. They don't have to announce a date to announce the game officially coming to the platform, etc.
Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, 3rd March 2026
@Twilite9 they just released a S2 version last week, although your save doesn’t carry over from S1.
Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, 3rd March 2026
Mewgenics and some of the better Switch games getting S2 updates (Tunic and Deaths’s Door, as previously mentioned).

61GB file size, according to the eShop listing. Since there's no actual physical release of this, I'll wait for a sale.

First Pokopia is a GKC, now this is a code in a box and only releasing it in Japan.
Nintendo is cheaping out big time.
Re: Rumour: A Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 Port Is Coming, A Fresh Datamine Suggests
Seems odd they would go for the less popular WILDS and not something like WORLD, or just update RISE to make it more inline with other versions.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Gets Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade, Out Now
@RupeeClock DKC Returns received a free update within the last month.
If you look at all the games with paid updates, they all included physical re-releases of the games. That seems (to me) to be the only difference.
