Re: SteamWorld Series Creator Admits 3DS eShop Closure Is A Little Bit "Upsetting"

PMFan354

@Cashews If emulators on a PC or Steam Deck do enough of a good job to do it (I don't use those myself but see everywhere, clearly a lot of people do) then Nintendo could find some way to have them work on a Switch. Same for the GBA, GameCube and even Wii library. A sensor and a Wii remote working would be doable. A split screen on the same screen and touch support would be enough of something to work too and the Switch does have touch screen support.

I'm sure there is a way.

It should have been thought about way in advance but instead it just wasn't. I suppose they wanted to sell there own ports of a ton of Wii U games to Switch and didn't want to loose money. At least I expect that was part of the reason.

Would have been nice if they added the same downloadable library on Wii U and 3DS on Switch in the first place. It could have been done.

Re: SteamWorld Series Creator Admits 3DS eShop Closure Is A Little Bit "Upsetting"

PMFan354

There should be a easy way to play all these games. Closing the eshops is just something that had to happen but they should have already had this same library available on the Switch from the start, imo. I get some of them can't work as easily on a Switch but most can. The NSO service is fine to exist but not as a good alternative to having a library on Switch, it doesn't even have nearly all the games available either.

Re: Chris Pratt Defends "The Voices" In The Mario Movie

PMFan354

This isn't really to do with Chris Pratt and the other voice actors/actresses but I really wish they sounded like they do in the video games from the start.

But the decision not to do that was already decided a long time ago.

Well, from all the footage, I expect the movie to be sucessful. Seems like it'll be good overall.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer Gets Creative With Vehicle Building, Fused Weapons

PMFan354

@Turbo857 I agree with you. That would be cool imo. I'm not sure they will do that, but it's possible.

I think the new abilities that they've shown now is the newer thing in the game when it comes to weapons and combat but there could still be a chance there is something else to show there. There could be more.

It looks like fusion might make a weapon last a little longer as well, if I saw that right.

But yeah they should do, it's a good idea! An item to just make them last longer.

I know some people really don't like durability and some feel they don't last long enough at all, so the option to make them last longer for those people would be good.

I would like that as well.

But I'm glad you can fuse a lot of different stuff together, as that makes it easier to have a weapon of some kind more accessible and easier.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer Gets Creative With Vehicle Building, Fused Weapons

PMFan354

I'm positive overall. I found the new abilities to be really impressive for me, I like them all and thought the ideas were quite clever and add to the experience.

I'm not sure about the same open world, at the moment it's not bothering me but I'd like to see more footage of it as well. I do like the floating islands and the fact there is definitely something new going on, so that is good.

I do actually like the idea of travelling more easily without much stamina and stuff. Just nicer and sounds good.

I was fine with breakable weapons and weapon durability in BotW but did feel they should have lasted a little longer. Fusion might resolve some problems people had with it and my own thoughts as well.

Overall I am pleased as I see things that are new and different that look good. At least with combat, travel and fusion/crafting type of stuff.

I still don't like the price increase but at the moment I think I will get the game after all, near launch.

I still hope there is some more new things to see in the world. Looks like there will be more enemies. Doesn't look likely that you can swim underwater but it would be nice if there is still a chance you could.

So yeah I'm please. Just wondering what dungeons will be like this time. Shrines and divine beast concepts again or classic style again or both or something else.

Re: UK Charts: Super Mario Odyssey Continues To Sell Well In A Quieter Week For Nintendo

PMFan354

I'm sort of disappointed we didn't get a Mario game of some kind. I guess there is still a chance for Q3 and Q4 of this year, maybe. I'm doubtful but you never know.

The good news is that hopefully they really will release a new 3D Mario soon, as in next year or so.

I thought they might save it for the next Switch, assuming there really is a new Switch by 2025 but at the moment there is a chance it could come out next year anyway. If the next main Zelda title comes out now then I don't see why a new 3D Mario can't come out on the same Switch, though.

So we'll see what happens when they're ready to show something, like they've said. I'm just assuming next year for now. Still have a feeling there could be a new Switch but maybe it will come out on both consoles if there is. You just never know what exactly is going to happen that far ahead right now.

In other news, I'm glad Super Mario Odyssey is still able to sell well as it's a really good game.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Gameplay Trailer Drops Tomorrow, 28th March 2023

PMFan354

Oh that's cool. I thought it'd be a little longer before they'd go in-depth. I guessed around the start of April. We are nearly in April anyway.

Glad they'll start to share a lot more of the game now. I'm really interested to see what they'll show us. Hope it's as good as BotW or even better. I have confidence that it will be as good but I still feel a little on edge in case, so hopefully the trailer will be good.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 18th)

PMFan354

Kirby Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Switch. Really fun going back to the game, I like the new minigame modes and look forward to seeimg the epilogue, which sounds a good addition.

I like that the minigames are based on past entires.

I'm playing Guardian Tales on Switch as well. Trying to get through side content in the main worlds and then side stories.

I might give Metroid Prime ago sometime in the future but leaving it for now.

Re: Talking Point: What Makes A Really Good Demo?

PMFan354

I very rarely play demos at the moment but have done. I think transferable data is always great but I should've voted showcasing the best parts of the game.

For me, it doesn't actually have to be the very best part as it can be the best part of a section of the game or a good part of the game too, best part works as well though.

I like seeing some good parts and best parts of a section of the game, in trailers and that the trailers show enough and explain enough too.

Re: Video: Everything That Could Go Wrong With The Switch's Successor

PMFan354

Digital would alarm so many people that I don't think they could do it and get away with it, at least right now. So thankfully I don't think that will happen.

And yeah, just an upgraded switch with better hardware and graphics would more or less work so hopefully that will be what it is. They want to surprise but in a positive way and not do another Wii U, so if there is a surprise hopefully it's not a negative.

Better loading times on the hardware and games hopefully.

Backwards compatibility makes sense too but who knows for certain, I'd assume they'd do that this time but no way to know really, just hoping so.

Re: Nintendo's Anticipated Switch Release Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Will Skip PAX East

PMFan354

@KBuckley27 I know a bit about what you're thinking but I think there marketing strategy actually is to show very little until very close to release and that it's done so on purpose for marketing strategy reasons.

I don't know facts but they think that's the best way to market the game and make a profit, so they probably would be right. It's done on purpose for sure and I think they know what they're doing.

For me though, with the increased price, I want to see more trailers before pre-ordering.

Re: Bowser Defends $70 Zelda Pricing, Nintendo Still "Very Bullish" About Switch

PMFan354

This response is just that they want us to accept higher price tags and I don't like it.

If they think the sequel has more value, fair enough but this is really unfair on customers.

But since it isn't every title, even most, and it's $10 extra (imo, that is still a lot of money especially extra for a game), I guess I'll leave arguments alone for now. They are going to make a huge profit from it overall and they want to find ways to do that.

Re: Mario Movie Improves On Characters Who Didn't Have "Much Of A Personality", Says Director

PMFan354

There are plently of video games where they do have and show personality.

Giving them personality that works well in movie form is great for a movie, saying they don't ever have personality otherwise though is just wrong.

I mean there are some games where there isn't much but gameplay comes first and there are plently of video games where they do show a lot of personality.

Re: Mario Movie Directors Explain Their Take On Princess Peach

PMFan354

I liked Paper Mario 64 approached where she was capable of sneaking around the castle and in return helping Mario. She was able to do something and show she had some strength to do something even though she was captured. Dialogue of her standing firm and having hope as well. Lots of fun comedy and jokes there too. Thousand Year Door took the same formula in some good ways as well.

As long as it's about Mario specifically, then Mario should still be the protagonists but Peach doesn't have to be fully incapable either, not necessarily anyway. It's usually more interesting when she isn't.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe

PMFan354

I wouldn't mind an optional content hard mode if it doesn't lock anything important but hard disagree with IGN's review. Doesn't seem fair imo.

The worst thing you can say about this good Kirby adventure/platformer game is that it is remastered from a already done Wii game, so for some people it will be similar and that criticism is only for people who played it already, who probably mostly feel fine and happy to play this again anyway and even then Nintendo has done a good job here.

Out of all the ports, I really don't mind playing this again on Switch and the epilogue and extra minigames sounds a nice addition.

So nothing else to be so negative about really.

Re: Nintendo's Investor Q&A Promises Switch Isn't Dead After Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

PMFan354

While not as predicable and definite, I have a feeling a new switch could be announced next year or even late this year. Expecting it to be out either next year or else the year after.

But I feel it's all less certainly and predictable at the moment.

I just don't see Switch lasting by itself too much longer, but I suppose it could do.

Still a great console but graphic updates and shorter loading times is nice, that would be good to have going forward.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Temporarily Listed On Nintendo Website For $70 USD

PMFan354

Until it's offical (again) it could be a mistake. I'll wait for more information that's coming probably very soon.

I already was probably not going to pre-order it this month anyway, but I might wait on it even longer depending what the price is.

Honestly don't think it should be raised to $70 though. Not defending it at all, but if it's as good as BotW is, it'll be a good game. So we'll see.

Re: Talking Point: Where Should The Next Pokémon Legends Game Take Place?

PMFan354

I've missed out on a lot of Pokemon games so I'm not entirely sure. But Mewtwo if it existed then and Mew sounds good. I like the Pokemon Celebi so I'd be happy to go for that. And anything in the Johto region. I missed that game but I know it's a really cool and interesting region. I like the legendary cats/dogs/things designs and the legendary birds designs a lot. So yeah. It all seemed interesting when I was a lot younger as well, can't remember much now but am sure it was.
