Re: Feature: Pikmin Tier List - Which Pikmin Type Is The Best?

PMFan354

I like Red Pikmin a lot because of their Attack Boost.

I wouldn't ever call them the worst but they aren't nesscarily the best either. But you will use them a lot and they help hugely with the Attack Boost.

It's hard to rank any of them lower than C though, except yeah Mushroom Pikmin.

Re: Round Up: Here's What Switch Fans Are Saying About The Pikmin 4 Demo

PMFan354

Really enjoyed it a lot. I already pre-ordered before the demo and will play the full game.

I agree there is a lot of cutscenes and dialogue at the start and I didn't mind it much but I can see it bothering people and agree with them, even though it was just about okay with me. But yeah it does seem a bit much at that stage of the game.

However the people saying that this remains for the rest of the demo, hard disagree there. Evetually it tones down a lot and lets you enjoy playing the game. Don't see any issues with a little bit of dialogue after that.

Anyway, the game felt really fun for me so yeah, I agree with people on Twitter as well.

Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year Of 2023 So Far?

PMFan354

1. TotK. A lot of content and it's just really good. I think it does deserve GOTY.
2. After playing the Pikmin 4 demo, I was surprised at how much fun it was. I'm not sure if it deserves a 2nd spot but it would be a contender for me.
3. Having not played Metroid Prime Remaster I can only assume people's opinions of it are fair and that it deserves a contender spot. It looks good. So I'll place it here anyway. I will give the game a try at some point.

Kirby as a series is really good imo. Not sure about Return to Dream Land Deluxe being GOTY but the series are good and it's a good Kirby game. Forgotten Land can easily be a GOTY contender for last year.

Re: Nintendo's Pikmin 4 Demo Is Now Available On The Switch eShop

PMFan354

@RareFan They left an article saying Pikmin 4 features a rewind mechanic, so if you really want you can rewind a day. They said it's an option. I think it will be okay though.

For a lot of people though, the time mechanic works well and isn't too much to handle. You just have to learn with it but you likely will. But I'm speaking from Pikmin 1 only, and I think that one is more punishing than the others, but idk. It's not too bad or anything as long as you plan the days carefully.

It can be difficult for some people though. If that turns true for you, sounds like the rewind mechanic will work for you.

If you want to give it a go, I'd still say try the demo before buying.

Re: Pikmin 4 Will Let You Erase Your Mistakes With A Handy New Rewind Mechanic

PMFan354

I think people just want to really know that it is optional, as they're a bit concerned in case this could ruin a large part of the experience for them.

Anyway yeah, sounds like it's optional.

For me, unpopular opinion, I think I will actually like this. It feels weird but I like the idea of getting Pikmin back. I don't know. I only played Pikmin 1 though, and I did enjoy it. But yes I think it definitely should be an option and a choice but sounds like it is.

I am also for people being allowed to disable it entirely if they want.

Re: PlayStation Boss Doesn't Think Call Of Duty Appeals To Nintendo's Core Audience

PMFan354

This does feel like a really silly argument. I mean while it may be true not everyone who plays Mario and Pokemon and maybe Zelda on Switch would want to play COD, there will still be people who are playing those games who would like it.

And won't there be an auidence who already want COD on Switch? Or would play it if it gets added?

The Switch is so popular I would strongly imagine so.

I think it's more about trying to not get it on Switch then pretend it doesn't have an audience for the Switch. Idk, comes off that way to me anyway.

Re: Review: Sonic Origins Plus - Not Bad, But Sonic Still Deserves Better

PMFan354

@Snatcher Oh for sure, yeah. Even when the mistakes happened Sonic stayed popular. I think their recent games have been good lately as well. Also, if we talk outside of games, I've not seen the movies yet but they sound really good.

Sonic is a big icon imo.

I sort of agree with the idea that Mario games and Sonic games aim for different things.

Yeah, true! I was surprised when they showed Daisy in the trailer. A lot of fans wanted her in a mainline game for so long, so really nice they add her in. There's a lot to love in the trailer!

Sonic CD is really fun and yes more characters to play with is great.

Lol, yes but I thought your reply was good.

Re: Review: Sonic Origins Plus - Not Bad, But Sonic Still Deserves Better

PMFan354

@Snatcher Agreed fully, more or less. I didn't want to get involved as I knew someone else would say this, haha.

Wonder looks good to me too.

Not all Sonic games are bad like you said. Unfortunately we know they have a few bad games, which you also said. But like you said, Sonic & Kunckles 3 is one of the good Sonic games.

I think playable Amy and Kunckles in Sonic CD sounds really good.

Anyway, yeah.

Re: Hands On: Everybody 1-2-Switch! Is Harmless Fun, But It's No Wii Party

PMFan354

It looks like it'll have a very niche audience but it'll be fun for that audience.

It's not Wii Party and I already prefer Super Mario Party after seeing the new trailer.

But yeah, it'll work well for some people.

For a wider audience, I'm starting to think an online battle royale party game might've worked better. Make some minigames for that. Idk, with 100 player support and all. But then it'll take out the partying in the same room fun, as they can't easily then put motion controls into it, but yeah I'm thinking even that, otherwise, would've worked better for a larger auidence anyway.

Just seeing the bingo with 100 people made me think that.

At least the price is fairer.

Re: Nintendo Infographic Showcases The Games Featured In June's Direct

PMFan354

For myself, in order of what I'm interested in and like the sound of:-
1. Super Mario Bros Wonder
2. Super Mario RPG (Remake)
3. Pikmin 4
4. Sonic Superstars
Then, possibly
5. Maybe Silent Hope
6. Maybe Star Ocean The Second Story R
As for DLC
7. Yes to M+R SoH The Last Sparks Hunter (And later on, Rayman's last DLC).
8. Maybe Pokemon Scarlet but I'm waiting to see a lot more on this.

I actually have the DLC for SoH. I've also Pre-ordered the first 3. October and November gives me some time.

The rest can wait at a later date.

I am curious about the new Peach game and I've never played Luigi Mansion Dark Moon. So I'll be interested in more information on them.

Re: Hip-Thrusting Is Just One Of The Weird Minigames In Everybody 1-2-Switch!

PMFan354

Yeah, it's a low amount of minigames for what it is. It still has some interesting ideas and minigames. Up to 100 players with a mobile phone as well. But yeah.

I know Nintendo doesn't look that confident with it, but the game doesn't actually look that bad if you want a party game. Problem is that it's a low amount of content and the horse can seem creepy, in the marketing I mean. It stands out but something is off.

I think it has some good concepts and features but just doesn't quite do as much and as well as it should for a Nintendo party game.

Not sure it's overall as bad as people think, it still looks okay and fun for a multiplayer party game, but I feel it's missing a lot.

I know the price is quite a bit lower, and that's good, but more content and ideas to make it better would've maybe worked better.

I'm assuming the development team tried and had a reason why this is the final product, but yeah.

Re: Random: Disgruntled Splatoon 3 Fan Complains Directly To Nintendo's President About Male Poses

PMFan354

I mean, with story mode and the openings, they focus usually on girl characters like The Squid Sisters, Off The Hook and Shiver & Frye (Although this time there is Big Man). Among more. There are guy characters too, but they get a lot less spotlight. To me it makes sense that those ones are all girls, but having more guy characters in the spotlight could happen too.

But they're complaining about poses. I never really thought about it. I mean I suppose.

But they really wanted their complaints to be heard and they saw they, personally, wouldn't be heard otherwise, but this still seems ridiculous. But I guess they got heard and it's clearly what they wanted. Not something I'd recommend doing. (I mean $300-$400 or so is a lot and Nintendo Everything said it was over $3500, so yeah).

Re: Talking Point: Is Super Mario Bros. Wonder Really A Departure From The 'New' Series?

PMFan354

I liked the New Super Mario Bros Wii game a lot. Not so much the Deluxe Wii U one on Switch, but it was "okay".

This looks really good and different though. Yes the art is beauitful and it's a great new direction for the artstyles but the way they use the gimmicks look really different too. It's a bit more wild but in a good way. I'd say they're mostly similar gimmicks, and gameplay, to the New series, but the way they were handled in the trailer is very different. As long as it plays well, I'd say it's very different but not quite fully different. I'm still happy to vote for it being completely different, as between the top two options, it looks somewhat completely different to me, and in part on the gameplay side of things I think it also is, just slighly not quite fully at the same time.

It looks creative to me and really nice but I am assuming in advance that the gameplay I saw in the trailer is how it is. So I can't be certain until it's out or else there is more footage and information. But seems that way from the first trailer.

As for the artstyle, that did surprise me and it was the first thing I saw. Definitely like the looks of that.

Re: Sonic Central 2023 Announced, Get Ready For A "Sneak Peek" At Upcoming Projects

PMFan354

@NinjaNicky That could be it, it took me a while to get the bee and weeds minigame.

If it's that, Reddit though should hopefully help. Ask for the little detail you think you're missing or explain to a comment, in a reply, that it's not working. You can try the Sonic subreddits.

You can check the combo controls in case you need to use one of those or the cyclone (I'm guessing, with the latter, if that's even possible you've tried it).

There might be something else that needs activating first. Idk.

Hopefully you'll work it out.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Super Mario RPG On Switch

PMFan354

The boxart is okay, the characters look great. But it does still look a bit basic. Maybe they'll change it a little later, or else that really is the boxart.

It could do with a background or something.

This is one game I'll be getting. New graphics, redone music. The price is a little high if they don't add anything else, but otherwise sounds good to me.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 5 DLC Gets Squeaky Clean This Summer

PMFan354

@JohnnyMind I still wasn't sure on him but I did see it being possible. Kamek though, I thought he's one of the characters people really want a lot and it makes sense to include him. I thought the PM:tOK, MP:SS, SMP trend would get added here.

I never played Tour though. It looks good for a mobile game. I'm also surprised they gave 3 characters in one go, it's a nice move.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder, A Brand New 2D Mario Game, Is Coming To Switch

PMFan354

Really nice! I hope it's more like the Wii one and plays really well. Have been waiting forever for a new Mario game that wasn't a sports game. This is looking good!

Having Daisy playable is something they should've done already, but a nice surprise she's in this! Hopefully I saw Yoshi playable right.

I wasn't really expecting a 3D Mario game in this Nintendo Direct, but I'm guessing 3D Mario really will be next year, since it's already due, it'd be strange if it's even longer then that.

Re: Sonic Fans Are Already Really Mad About Sonic Origins Plus

PMFan354

I saw some talk about this. One was talking about how Amy's highlight colours in special stages isn't the colour they want.

I really think it's that, standards are too high. The only thing I can agree on is having Sonic & Amy, Kunckles & Amy, etc, playable. Otherwise I don't really see any issues.

It's also nice just to have Amy playable in the first place.

Re: Soapbox: Fortnite On Switch Is Five Years Old, And I Have No Idea What It Is Anymore

PMFan354

@darkswabber I don't really agree. The game is suitable for children, or I would think it is and in my opinion it is, but it has a very sinister/creepy and eerie type of theme and mood it's going for. Especially with the music and last season look. I wouldn't call that an ingredient for something colourful and friendly.

There is some toony stuff but it still has the theme and mood I mentioned before very deep into it.

Although, I'd agree with you a little, that it's not M rated by any means. Nobody dies like you said and there's no blood.

It's suitable for children but I wouldn't say it's main themes and mood are for any child, generally, as the target audience. It's more suited to specific people due to it's themes and mood.

@Anti-Matter So, this isn't M rated, it really doesn't deserve that rating. But, because of it's themes and mood, it might not be suited for you and that's fine.

Re: Random: Zonai 'Airbike' Is The Perfect Custom Vehicle In Zelda: TOTK

PMFan354

I've seen a lot of YT videos with this build, seems really useful, the fact it can even fly up just helps a lot.

At the moment I only have 4 battery so I'll leave it for later but will experiment eventually. It's nice if you AB it it doesn't require much of what's needed.

I will eventually try to make a simple build that can get me to the furthest up sky islands easily and AB that.
