Welcome, one and all!

It's been another reasonably busy week here at Nintendo LIfe. We started off with a Pokémon Presents showcase which, according to you fine people, wasn't all that good. The biggest highlight was undoubtedly the announcement of the Scarlet and Violet DLC, which will come in two parts and is officially called 'The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero'.

Otherwise, we finally got confirmation that Pokémon Sleep is still a thing and will be launching later this year. Netflix also announced that it is collaborating with The Pokémon Company on a new stop motion project called Pokémon Concierge, which certainly sounds interesting.

Nintendo also announced its plans around this year's 'MAR10 Day' celebrations, including a rather underwhelming new Switch Console bundle, some tasty Mario-related sales, and the news that the Super Mario Bros. Movie release has been brought forward by two days in multiple global markets.

For now, though, it's time to relax and chill out - it's the weekend! We want to know what your gaming plans are, so be sure to let us know in the comments. But first, let's find out what the staff are up to...

I am really hoping to get a good chunk of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword cleared up this week. Is it top-tier Zelda in my mind? No way. But I am having more fun with it this time around which is always a bonus.

It would also be nice to finally get in and finish Super Metroid on NSO before Metroid Fusion drops next week. I was having an absolute blast playing through this one but got sidetracked at the final hurdle with the release of Fire Emblem Engage. If I can just sneak in a couple more hours this weekend then I should be able to crack it…

I've got a couple of games on the go at the moment for review purposes (keep an eye out for those in the coming days!), so I'm not really engaging with many other games at the moment.

That said, however, when I do find a few minutes spare, I'm currently jumping into Sonic Origins to clear one stage at a time. It's a great compilation to play in short bursts and I really hope Sega brings some more classic Sonic titles to the Switch in a similar way.

BROK the InvestiGator's unique mashup of point’n’clik and belt action beat’em up is proving to be quite alluring. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe remains a great reminder that the original Wii game was top shelf Kirby stuff. Was not expecting the stealth release of Neodori Forever but I was happy to grab it fast; it is such a relaxing, zen game. Hopefully I make some further progress in Xenogears as well.

Game of the Week is Arcade Archives SKY KID DX! Since the original game is one of my all time favourites, this deluxe edition boasts twice the colour palette (512 versus the original 256), new enemies, trickier stages, extra missions… everything that made the original game sweet just got sweeter!

We hope you enjoyed reading! Let us know what game you'll be maining in the poll above and leave a comment with your gaming plans for the weekend!

What are you playing this weekend (4th/5th March)?
