I’m just so happy that the characters look as well as they do animated, granted the movie could still suck, but the animation, I love!

I'm glad to see Shy Guys, although they are not their normal friendly and mischief selves, more threatening by the looks of it. Just nice to see them though.

So are they having Piranha plants be purely mechanical in this movie, or is that just supposed to be some kind of training area with stand-in plants? Because that would honestly be disappointing to see them not actually be real plants.

These one are part of the training area, just as the cardboard bowser part and other stuff from the trailer, to prepare mario for the real deal.
At least i hope so.

Those bats are right out of Wind Waker.

We just need a proper fan dub and this movie will be great. The north american cast is awful from what we've seen so far.

I mean, honestly, I am pretty stoked for this movie. I love the Sonic The Hedgehog movies and have made many good memories watching them with my kids. And they both enjoy Mario just as much. I am very hopefully this will be the start of a new franchise direction for Nintendo, which I am sure they have been wanting direly. Nintendo has such a huge catalogue of franchises that could possibly see the silver screen. Mario was absolutely the first one I wanted to see on the big screen though. Even if the voice actors chosen don't always seem like the best choice, I can still appreciate the movie as a whole. Though I think they nailed Sonic's voice, (and Tails and Knuckles) in the Sonic movies. Can't necessarily say the same initially here with what I have seen but I hope they grow on me.
