Wow this made me finally download the Nintendo music app. Love the main theme of MP4. Ever since it was probably used on one of the trailers, which I sorta still remember. Happy it’s available for all to enjoy the full version now. Overall this game looks beautiful whether playing on Switch 1 or SW2.
Already have the Switch 1 version (pre-downloaded from eshop and purchased Physical), as there was a feeling that Nintendo and Retro Studios would do a great job with the latest Metroid Prime on the original hardware. Very possible they worked hard on maintaining quality to avoid disappointing fans who have switch 1, considering the long wait of the game release. Also likely they want to grow the Metroid brand, to new audiences as well. By keeping as much as possible, of the visual smoothness of the gameplay, which I’m very happy about. Really looking forward to experiencing this game.
As a side note, I think Metroid and Mario Galaxy (both games and film) are wonderful positive things and themes they are doing, in relation to the stars, universe and space. As the other day, I thought Star Fox could be another IP franchise of Nintendo, that they could be exploring, whether in a movie or a new game. Not sure about others, but personally I feel there is a fascination of space and what’s out there.
This appears Nintendo and Retro Studios are going all in, making it a great Metroid game. I like the direction of portraying Samus as more like a female superhero. The amount of storage space seems to indicate lots of great content in the game. Plus being the first Metroid Prime title made from the ground up on Nintendo Switch. Rather than a GameCube port. Overall very excited about this game!
Wow! The actors look really great. Coming from someone who is used to playing Mario style games, this has provided encouragement to actually complete and finally play the Zelda games at some point. Yes there are so many in the Zelda IP franchise. Already downloaded Breath of the Wild but never had a chance to have the time to fully play it. Which probably feels like a good starting point as a standalone game to get into maybe. Along with Echoes of Wisdom which I am guessing to be good titles to start with, as well.
The second Toshinden game had a great soundtrack. You can actually put the original PlayStation game disc into a regular CD player and listen to the music.
The recent games I purchased is Pokémon ZA, Absolum, and Double Dragon Revive. Top Hat Gaming on YouTube explains how Double Dragon Revive is actually a pretty good fun arcade style game, for those who are still skeptical. Here is a great video that explains in detail about the new Double Dragon Revive: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mBPUh33k7Es
As a casual player, and based on early impressions of playing the game - I am really enjoying it. What a beautiful opening scene and a nice setting with a modern city feel. Still getting used to the real time gameplay mechanics. Since Pokémon is traditionally turn based. Overall a fresh presentation to the series. The character models and the experience are all great in my personal opinion. Also can see how they are trying to make the people more expressive like in Donkey Kong Bonanza and the movies. Surprisingly runs amazingly well on Switch 1 btw. Certainly feels a lot more closer to an anime, where the vision of expressing the game of Pokémon, becomes more closer to a show.
Coming from someone who only played the demo version on Switch 1, I was actually impressed with Sonic Crossworlds. This could be Sega’s answer to Smash Bros. As it carries the feel of characters from different games. Also the music sounded upbeat and more arcade like, if that is a way to describe it. Speaking of music (again haven’t played the full version), but maybe an option to have a music player, from across the different games, represented by the characters - similar to Smash Bros. Which can also include remixes from the different games, that can be played in each stage or course.
Remembered playing this game on SNES. Wow that opening music of the first level was amazing, and still is today. For those who don’t know - the game's soundtrack was composed by Yuzo Koshiro. Who made music for Streets of Rage, and other games too.
Out of all the SC games in the series, it was the first one on Dreamcast and the sequel on GameCube that really stood out. Now on the subject of GameCube, it potentially opens the door for Capcom to release both of their Viewtiful Joe games 1+2 on NSO.
I was listening to the soundtrack for this game today, and just wow - quality of the music is absolutely stunning. The character select screen and others, still sounds amazing. Had good memories playing SC2.
Speaking of N64 games, would be nice if Capcom can release Megaman Legends 64 on Nintendo Switch Online. That would be so great, instead of playing on the PlayStation. Had great memories with that game.
With GameCube games being available on Nintendo Switch 2, there is a strong possibility that Sega can release the Sonic Adventure 1 + 2 games. Plus Sonic Heroes. Playing them on handheld would be so wonderful.
This is going to be my first Atelier game. Have to say the visuals are pretty good for the Switch. After playing the demo, it was definitely better, than what I have been hearing. By releasing a demo on the eshop, it seems the developers are confident, that it will do well. Although it’s being released on other platforms, I find it more comfortable playing handheld. Certainly convinced that I will be purchasing on Nintendo Switch when it comes out.
After having the game on PS4, I was very surprised how fluid it runs on the Nintendo Switch. So happy I can play both handheld and dock whenever I feel like it. But mostly playing in portable mode, as that is one of the nicest features of having the Switch version. Very impressive and solid port for sure. There was a feeling it was going to turn out great. The beautiful animations and visuals are really spectacular. This was a day one purchase for me.
Relax everyone. Nintendo is going to be just fine. The hardware leaks is similar to phones these days. Just adds more publicity and hype to them. It is really the games that is going to define this new gaming system platform. For the most part, the focus is all about quality of games. Nintendo is likely confident as any new games in development are tougher to leak. So they are still in the position to reveal surprises to the world.
Would have been nice if Capcom released the epic version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, instead of Upper. More I think about it, it could have been easily and technically possible. I mean all the assets are already completed in this collection. For example all the optimized sprite work releasing on modern consoles where characters like Yun, Eagle, Maki and Ingrid are already there. They could have pulled their visual game data, from Capcom SNK2 and Fighting Jam evolution. And then build it using the PSP version source code for SF Alpha 3 Max. Of course the win quotes would have to be “HD” visually optimized as well. But considering they are really static screens, with just 4 more characters, this would have made it a more exciting collection. Who knows, maybe it could be a secret unlockable.
Been looking forward to this game, ever since it was announced. Love the visuals and the art style. Game seems fun to play. Have played other Wayforward games such as Spidersaurs and River City Girls 2. Where it could have run better. Have watched the trailer for Yars Rising and always wondered about the frame rate on Switch. Glad it is confirmed to run buttery smooth at 60fps. It’s possible that Atari had high standards in the quality of this game when working with them. So they might have encouraged Wayforward to do whatever possible to get the beautiful frame rate implemented. Overall seems like a hybrid of Megaman and Metroid type of game. With a nice cartoon anime style experience. Day one purchase for me.
With recent announcement of the Marvel Collection and the good relationship between Capcom and Disney, it brings to mind that they should finally release the Disney Afternoon collection on a Nintendo platform. Just bizarre how these games were originally NES games, and not available yet. Would also like a reimagined Street Fighter anime style game, presented in a similar way as Guilty Gear Strive. Love the smooth animated aesthetic (2.5D cel shaded look). If Capcom were to remake Alpha 3 or build a new Alpha 4 from the ground up, that would be amazing.
After playing Princess Peach Showtime, I discovered a wonderful retro game experience with vibrant visuals, and a catchy soundtrack. The main character is a female hero that plays like a 2D side scroller with fighting and adventure elements thrown in, called Intrepid Lizzy. It’s available on many platforms including PS4, Dreamcast, and plays great on the Switch.
For those who enjoy platformers and metroidvania style games, with a bit of Street Fighter action and Alex Kidd, I highly recommend Intrepid Lizzy. Which is currently on sale on the Nintendo eshop. A very solid game with great music, animation and some challenging bosses. Perhaps one of those hidden gems. It has become one of my favorite games on the Switch.
Just recently, have discovered a wonderful game called Intrepid Lizzy for Nintendo Switch. Seems to run beautifully at 60 fps. Has great animation, music and bosses. From what I understand it was also released on the Sega Dreamcast.
Might be interested in purchasing Tasmanian Tiger 4, which currently has a digital sale on the US eshop. The 2D visual style looks nice and beautiful. Hopefully this can be a nice standalone game to enjoy without understanding the story from previous games in the series.
I would actually prefer the Donkey Kong 1994 gameboy version on NSO. Just seems to make sense to have this game available on the Switch by now. Just really amazing how it really built from the arcade original.
Would love if Sega can release a Virtua Fighter collection. Or put out a few of these games under Sega Ages on Nintendo Switch.
Just guessing what this “super game” might be. They are probably developing a major Super Smash Bros style game, using all their Sega IP characters. Using all sorts of stuff across every series imaginable. With game music remixes and everything.
Regardless of the frame rate, still bought this on Nintendo Switch since it is more comfortable to play with handheld mode. Maybe there can be an update patch if enough people requests for 60 fps.
Just downloaded the game from Nintendo eShop (US) today. Appears there is an English language update. I was surprised to see all the menu text in English, when I first starting playing the game. Enjoy. It’s really fun!
This game has an interesting visual style. Have played Ollie Ollie World and it seems to present something similar. But with a very unique experience. Surprised there are actually bosses, after watching the great reviews today on YouTube so far.
Still have the original HD version of Jet Set Radio on PS3.
I can see how they would like future games, or thoughts on evolving the series, to be as close to the movies as possible (due to the recent success of the films). As the 3D assets create a somewhat similar feel to the CGI experience. I understand their point of reaching a wider audience appeal from a visual perspective, in order to bring new fans into the series, while also maintaining the classic gameplay style.
I wonder if KI Arcade version can be released on Nintendo Switch someday. Remembered playing on the SNES that came with the CD soundtrack. The ultra combos were cool.
Very interested to see if Lemmy will make an appearance in Super Mario Wonder. Read an article mentioning that SMW releasing in October this year could be the next “Super Mario Bros. 3” which sounds ambitious and exciting. If the Koopalings return, maybe the boss encounters will be more epic this time.
Although I haven’t played Yoshi’s Safari, I was impressed of how Nintendo did something creative with the Koopalings in that game. The mechs were an interesting design choice for the Koopa kids. If Nintendo can bring this game out on NSO, that would be awesome.
Wow…what a surprising announcement! Remembered having fun playing this game on the Panasonic 3DO system. I get very excited when it comes to retro game collections.
Would certainly prefer the remake version of Karateka on iPhone which was a beautiful game. Seems to be available on PS3 as well. This “new one” appears to be way different.
The SF Anniversary collection is great on Nintendo Switch. Personally would love if Capcom actually did a modern remake of the entire Alpha series. Using 2.5d visuals, along with cinematic supers would make the Alpha games really shine, especially with the anime style that it has. Would be amazing if Capcom did a complete reimagining of the ZERO/Alpha series for modern platforms.
Was hoping for SF6 to use cel shaded animation, so this would be a great opportunity to use that visual approach, that we often see in Arc System games. Have really wondered how SF would look like in this beautiful style.
With the Super Mario Bros. movie already released to the public, perhaps this is the beginning of Nintendo’s vision for the future with SMBW. There appears to be some hints of converging between film and the games, in terms of animation and voice work such as talking flowers.
Had great fun memories with the original game on Super Nintendo. Since I rarely play RPG games, this was something that was special and really enjoyed playing. This looks beautiful and very happy this is coming for Switch. Exciting how this was announced, since the other day, I wondered if Nintendo would ever do a modern remake of Mario Paint which was a beautiful fun and creative gem on the SNES.
Really super excited for this one!! ❤️✨Do wonder what the story and plot will be? Instead of having Bowser, probably makes logical sense if Wendy Koopa becomes the focus and being the final boss. Maybe she captures Mario and Luigi, and it will be up to Princess Peach to save them. There are so many creative ways Nintendo can approach with this game.
Wow! Really amazing surprise from Nintendo. LOVE the animation and quality of the direction for this new 2D game and building from the New Super Mario Bros series. It’s a great creative approach. The elephant power up is going to be super fun. For some reason, I think about the koopalings which might return as bosses. The zany and wackiness nature personalities of Lemmy and Iggy Koopa, especially with their colored hairstyles comes to mind, and could be very fitting for this game.
Great memories playing Wario Smooth Moves on the Nintendo Wii. It was so fun to play and I remembered the club disco stage with the cute kitty cats in the game. Would be nice to have an HD port of the original for Switch. Happy that Nintendo is using this similar approach for their next Wario game, which is what made the Wii version so great.
There is a lot of work, when it comes to making a game. Games are like a work of art. People who make games are creators and likely have their own families to feed and take care. Their work needs to be respected and something to be treated with care. Yes it’s great to have fun playing a game, but it also feels good to support them.
@KingMike Yes that would be a great collection of Batman games. If we take a step further, perhaps Warner Bros. can also include the Sunsoft games as well. Having a game compilation with different companies appears to be possible as shown with Disney Classic Games collection (not to be confused with Afternoon collection), where Jungle Book and Lion King by Virgin Interactive were included together with Capcom’s Aladdin. Konami has already proven with Cowabunga Collection that anything is possible. From what I may have remembered of what contributed to the making of this, was through numerous players’ requests. With that logic, if enough demand is there for a Batman game collection, this could get Konami and Warner Bros. attention, whether through emails or their social media pages.
@horobita Agreed. The quality of the music was really good! Still remembered playing Network Transmission on the GameCube. Maybe Capcom can add as a DLC. Coming from someone who played traditional platform MegaMan, this was my first experience with the GBA series on the Nintendo Switch. It’s actually pretty good with unique gameplay. Certainly a reminder of the wonderful feeling of Saturday morning cartoons. Also I was impressed by the menu presentation for this collection.
Personally waiting for Nintendo to release the original 1994 Donkey Kong on Gameboy for Switch Online. Had great memories playing that game which was amazing with tons of creative stages, after going through the classic arcade levels at the beginning. Plus it was Super Gameboy enhanced.

After playing Princess Peach Showtime, I discovered a wonderful retro game experience with vibrant visuals, and a catchy soundtrack. It’s available on many platforms including PS4, Dreamcast, and plays great on the Switch.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th April)
For those who enjoy platformers and metroidvania style games, with a bit of Street Fighter action and Alex Kidd, I highly recommend Intrepid Lizzy. Which is currently on sale on the Nintendo eshop. Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder, A Brand New 2D Mario Game, Is Coming To Switch

There is a lot of work, when it comes to making a game. Games are like a work of art. People who make games are creators and likely have their own families to feed and take care. Their work needs to be respected and something to be treated with care. Yes it’s great to have fun playing a game, but it also feels good to support them.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Batman Returns (SNES)
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Batman Returns (SNES)
Would be interesting if Konami can make a Batman Collection of their games.
Re: Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Surpasses One Million Sales Worldwide
Re: Random: Forget The Wii U, This Coder Got Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Running In A Web Browser
Personally waiting for Nintendo to release the original 1994 Donkey Kong on Gameboy for Switch Online. Had great memories playing that game which was amazing with tons of creative stages, after going through the classic arcade levels at the beginning. Plus it was Super Gameboy enhanced.
