Thanks for teaching me about a holiday I never knew about (and reminding me that I need to help out Gulliver a lot more instead of just leaving him there 😅).
"And next, how about something on stuff getting cancelled on NS1/2 after being announced"
This, to me, is a way bigger issue. Especially with how Nintendo of America and Europe are treating niche third party Japanese games like Neptunia as of late. A game being delayed a little bit to make sure it runs better or something like that is a nothingburger, but games being outright canceled, especially for stupid reasons, just really grinds my gears.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: haven't made any more hotel progress yet, but I am close to affording the first storage upgrade from the new update. PS4: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: doing late game level grinding right now and most of my characters are now in the late 90s in terms of level. All I have to do now is defeat the final boss Arfoire and then I've beaten the game. After that, I will start a new game that isn't Neptunia for the first time in a few months, and it will be on Switch this time. I already have a plan in mind for what game I want to start next.
I'll definitely watch as much as I can before going to Church, but my family usually leaves for Church a few minutes after nine so I might have to wait for later to watch all of it.
I expected Animal Crossing Switch 2 Edition to take number 1. I'm happy for the rest of the top 10 too. I actually haven't looked at a Japanese chart for a few weeks, but I think this might be the first time that I've seen a Japanese chart on NL that didn't have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on it.
As I said in a previous article, just the fact that they finally made assist mode for all characters, I might eventually pick it up a few years down the line. That change fixes one of the few issues I had with the original game.
@tedkiwi, the Switch 2 has not had a price increase yet though, it has been $450 from day one. Yes, if I recall correctly, Nintendo's president said that when they decided on the price, they priced the Switch 2 with potential tariffs in mind. The system hasn't gotten a price increase yet at all, certainly not because of tariffs. I'm not saying that all the tariffs are amazing, I was just stating that the tariffs have not caused the Switch 2 to go up in price yet.
They look good, hopefully anyone who wants them can get their hands on them for a good price. I'll probably pass though, since there are other amiibo that I want more.
A quick question for any of the players of the DLC: how difficult is it compared to the main game? Because if it's much more harder, I might just pass on it. Especially since I don't really like time limits, which I believe this DLC has time limits while exploring.
Team races for online sounds like a nice addition...
But playable Kamek?! Last I checked, he's not playable in the game at all, but if he is, TELL ME MORE (I know he's not playable in the game, but I really DO want him to be playable since I might still get this game someday, probably years down the line though).
This is it, everyone. As time passes, more and more of the veteran Nintendo developers will retire and pass on. Hopefully Nintendo continues its mostly amazing track record of creating amazing games far into the future, even with a new generation in charge.
@PharoneTheGnome, in my personal view, I would like it if they create another Animal Crossing at some point so they can finally leave New Horizons alone 😅. I personally prefer games that don't get endless updates and new content, just so there's no more risk of the game content being changed. I'm kind of old-school that way. So even though ACNH V 3.0 is pretty good I think, I really do hope it's the final update.
Anyway, I definitely agree that waiting longer for the next Animal Crossing isn't bad at all, even almost six years later, New Horizons is still a blast. I only started playing it back in the Fall of 2023 anyway. I probably wouldn't buy the next Animal Crossing anyway because... reasons.
@Pho, the way I see it is that all this "AI EVIL" stuff is overblown because even when someone who is a real person gets some writing utensils and begins writing a story or drawing a picture, it is probably pretty similar to what has already been done by someone else. If you really think about it, every new franchise, art, story, etc. borrows ideas from previous franchises, art, stories, etc., it's just unavoidable.
I'm not seeing any mention of Rabbids at all. Did they just give up on that series? So far as I know, it was pretty prevalent back in the early 2010s. It even had a cartoon called Rabbids Invasion back in 2015-2018, which I actually watched some of (nowhere close to a masterpiece, but it did give me a few good laughs). Did pretty poor sales of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope cause them to give up on it? That game is one of my most favorite games of all time, but I do admit it did sell pretty poorly.
Also sucks to hear about the Sands of Time Remake, I know a decent amount of people were looking forward to that one.
The things people will do when they have free time on their hands always amazes me.
Kudos to the creator though 🫡! This is a pretty cool idea. Watch the people who despise the Switch 2 say it shouldn't be paired with the holy PS5 And XBox though 🤣.
@Zeebor15, Trump's tariffs did not lead to Switch 2 getting a price increase at all. If anything is leading to a Switch 2 price increase, it's the RAM shortage.
I wouldn't worry just yet, I really do think Nintendo is smart enough to just do something like increase the price of NSO instead. Though things really aren't looking good right now.
The next mainline Hyperdimension Neptunia game that is supposed to release this year, no changes from Japansese version and complete on physical cartridge please, thanks.
This is great news for anyone who can make use of that feature, but I don't necessarily like the idea of more and more game features requiring online accounts. I miss the days where an account was more of an optional thing that only had a few features locked behind it.
Constantly, I find myself despising how strict Nintendo is with stuff like this. From what I saw on Instagram and now this article, this island was tame as all heck anyway. Animal Crossing is supposed to be about creativity. Thank God for offline mode, where you can actually be creative without being taken down.
@Dyna-Z, I came back to this article to read more new comments and noticed your comment about Cory In The House, in my original comment today I said that I selected it as a joke since I had a spare voting option (no, I don't actually own the game, I was just doing it to be silly 🤣).
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: I haven't started my Slumber Island yet, but I've let my two younger sisters start theirs with the two extra and they are really getting a kick out of it. Also, I've only done the first two rooms at the hotel so far. But I do want to delve into the update further once I beat my current PS4 game. PS4: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: all of my characters are currently in the late 70s - early 80s in terms of level thanks to a great new grinding spot. Story wise, I have all the Key Fragments and now I have to look for the oracle Histoire. I'm pretty sure that I'm approaching the end of the game pretty soon, sometime in the next few weeks probably.
Also, since I only included Animal Crossing in the poll like usual, I decided to vote for Disney's Cory In The House just to be silly, because of the recent trend involving the game.
@sportymariosonicmixx, I'm currently 16 (I state this in my profile), will be 17 in a few months, so I'm definitely one of the younger people on the site 😅. And I wasn't saying that there weren't any Mario toys back in the day, I was just noticing that there's way more Mario toys in stores nowadays compared to when I was a younger kid back in the early 2010s.
I have some good memories of playing with Little People toys when I was a young kid, actually 😀. I haven't touched any in years though. It's nice seeing lots more different Super Mario stuff compared to when I was a child and there wasn't many Mario toys that existed compared to now.
It's nice that it's seemingly coming out on the original Switch as well, more people will be able to access the game that way. On Switch 1, or on Switch 2 via backwards compatibility. I have heard good things about this game, so hopefully any players on Nintendo platforms enjoy it.
I'm actually pretty glad that most amiibo functionality is pretty throw-away stuff. I already have Mario series Mario and Luigi amiibos, and do want to get a few more like the early 2023 TotK ones eventually, but something like locking the bike music player in MP4 behind an amiibo sounds a little much, if you ask me 🤔.
I am slowly building a collection of physical media in many different categories so I can do just that 😀. With all the arguing and fighting and political issues out in the world nowadays, it's really nice to just take a break with some amazing media, whether it be classic or new.
If they're so obsessed with games getting their proper age ratings and all that, great. In that case, why do they feel the need to censor game releases, especially Japanese ones, so often lately, even though they get proper age ratings? I don't really need a reply, this is really just something I have noticed displayed as a question.

Re: Rumour: A Nintendo Direct May Be Coming As Soon As Next Week
I certainly would enjoy watching another general Direct, if it did happen.
@Tyranexx, congratulations, you just won the internet today because your comment made me laugh so much.
Re: ICYMI: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Is Now Coming To Cinemas Two Days Earlier
@Dev-N,
"It’s interesting how this is coming out just under a week before..."
Do you mean after? Wonder S2E releases March 26th.
Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Nintendo Direct Announced For Thursday, 29th January
Sounds interesting, I'll definitely watch it live and join the NL live chat, assuming that I have the time 😀!
Re: Poll: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Has A Final Title, But What Could It Be?
Silly answer: Final Fantasy 7 Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series and all-new Funky Mode.
Serious answer: Revelation sounds like a good name for it since Reunion is already taken.

Yoshi is just so freaking ADORABLE! I'm already looking more forward to the movie then I already was ☺️.

For which Zelda amiibo I'd be interested in existing, I chose Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
They book look nice, but I ended up going with NA again.

@Whirlwound,

"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
I'm willing to wait a bit longer for a game I'm interested in if it means that the game is better 😀.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th January)
Hello again, y'all! This weekend I'm playing:
Switch:
Animal Crossing New Horizons: haven't made any more hotel progress yet, but I am close to affording the first storage upgrade from the new update.
PS4:
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: doing late game level grinding right now and most of my characters are now in the late 90s in terms of level. Re: PSA: Switch 2 Visual And Performance Improvements Included In New Rocket League Update
To this day, it's still kind of annoying that they turned it into a free-to-play game when it was originally more like a standard buy once game 🤷♂️.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder + Meetup In Bellabel Park Arrives On Switch 2 In March
The assist mode for all characters alone MIGHT make me eventually purchase this since I already have the original game.
Or if this game gets no more updates, I might purchase a physical cartridge of the Switch 2 Edition 🤔?
Re: Tetris 99 Has Been Updated, Here Are The Super Vague Patch Notes
Ah yes, the number two item on everyone's Christmas lists in 2025: comfort.
Number one was stability, of course.

Nice to see that more people have access to Nintendo Today now. Hopefully it doesn't get censored by Saudi Arabia's monarchy or anything like that.

My results weren't entirely accurate, but I have a good idea of what they are thanks to my profile activity log that I've obsessively kept tabs on.
TotK in first place, Smash in second place, Animal Crossing in third place.
