Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)

Nep-Nep-Freak

Hello again, y'all! This weekend I'm playing:

Switch:
Animal Crossing New Horizons: going to dump some more time into this one to celebrate the upcoming launch of the January 2026 update. I'll probably also let my younger sister play more with my supervision.
PS4:
Super Neptunia RPG: all of my party members are now in the early 40s in terms of level. I'm just grinding experience and doing a few sidequests before moving on with the story. Current number of trophies: 21

@Willo567, I was considering getting it digitally (because potential dlc) back when it was first announced (I actually don't mind $70 games at all), but since I'm once again starting to become unsure about Switch 2 (for a few different reasons), whether I eventually purchase this game or not is now up in the air compared to the guaranteed purchase that it was before.

It's just that a lot of the hype I had prior has kind of just been drained from me in one fell swoop.

I'm happy for anyone who's still hyped though. 😀

Re: Random: Steam's Brand New Game Console Sure Looks Awfully Familiar

Nep-Nep-Freak

Interesting... I wonder how much it costs, and if it plays any physical games, and if I can play Steam games offline... I've been looking at getting into Steam, but that was before this summer's adult game censorship from Visa and Mastercard started, so... 🤔

@Zuljaras, wait a sec... I've also been really looking into GoG lately. If I get that cube console thing, I could play Neptunia games from GoG on the TV?! 🤯

Hello again, y'all! In case you haven't been updated yet, I changed my name to consolidate more of my online accounts. Don't worry, I'm still the same old massive otaku person ShieldHero. Also, I've dropped Pokémon Sleep. Not because I hate it, but because I've gotten a lot more busy lately, and I can always resume it years down the line if I want to, assuming it still exists, since it's a mobile game. Now that I'm no longer doing that and Trading Card Game Pocket, my morning schedule is much less hectic, and I'm glad that is the case 😃. Anyway, this weekend I'm playing:

Switch:
Animal Crossing New Horizons: I was originally going to put this game on hiatus after paying off the Harv's Island co-ops, but then I thought that with the new update coming out, I decided that now is actually the perfect time to dive back in for a few months. I've also let my younger sister play a bit with my supervision like we did a few times back in 2023 and 2024, and we've already increased the number of hours for ACNH on my profile by 10!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: I recently completed my spirit collection (the last major thing I needed to do in the game), so now I have no particular reason to play this, but I might do a few online battles if I find the time to do so.
Super Mario Maker 2: I'm going to be uploading another new level today after a two week break, most likely a short time after I post this comment.
PS4:
Super Neptunia RPG: This game has been taking up the bulk of my playtime lately. Since this was a library game and I have to return it soon, I purchased a digital copy on sale for $7.50. All of my party members are currently around level 30.

Re: Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against 'Pirate' Streamer Who Taunted Company Online

Nep-Nep-Freak

I've got no problem with people pirating and modding games that they have legally purchased, and doing it for older games that aren't produced anymore, or games that aren't released in their country because of government censorship or some other reason, but this dude got what he deserved.

@TheMule1983, that's the most absurd thing I have heard all day. There is nothing wrong with game streaming.

Re: Poll: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Getting A Huge Update In Early 2026, What Are You Most Excited For?

Nep-Nep-Freak

For me, it's the multiple slumber islands. Sometimes, my younger sister plays ACNH on my Switch docked to the TV with my supervision, and with some Joy-Cons that belong to the family's Switch (a different one than mine). If I let her use and play around with one of the slumber islands, she won't need my supervision as much since she won't be able to make changes to my actual island that way 🤣.

Re: Talking Point: When Did 'Good Enough' Become Good Enough For Pokémon?

Nep-Nep-Freak

For me, the Pokémon series has never just been "good enough", I genuinely love all the mainline games that I've played, especially during the Switch generation. Heck, Violet has been my favorite video game of all time since 2023. It may not have the best visuals of all time, but man, it is just so freaking fun to play.

I'm honestly disappointed that the "new Gen every three years" thing is ending. Ever since I really got into Pokémon during the early days of Gen 7, back when I first watched the Indigo League anime and played my mom's copy of Blue on the Game Boy Color. Ever since then, I've always looked forward to the new Gen every three years. Yes, I understand that incorporating better visuals and maker bigger games and all that jazz means longer development time, and based on leaks, Game Freak is definitely going to start making bigger Pokémon games going forward. I'll just miss having a new Gen every three years 😢.

Also, even though Pokémon is my favorite franchise, I do think that there is room for other Pokémon-like games to exist as well. Including Palworld: ever since the Palworld lawsuit began, I've had the belief that it is just dumb and shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Re: Review: Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake (Switch 2) - Rounds Out The Erdrick Trilogy In Style

Nep-Nep-Freak

I love that these remakes for DQ 1 and 2 are good, I will have to pass on them because I'm busy with other games, but I did enjoy DQ 3 Remake and I'm happy for anyone who does get to play this game.

And about potential changes that censor the game, if there are any like what supposedly happened with 3, that's disappointing to say the least 😢, I hate it when stuff like that happens. But still, even with potential stupid changes and though the Switch 2 "physical" is a Game Key Card, I do hope that people find some enjoyment with these games.
