Hello again, y'all! This weekend I'm playing:
Dragon Quest XI S Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition: met two new characters, Rab and Jade, and get seperated from most of my party members after an encounter with the Heliodorian Knights at the Ruins of Dundrasil . This game is simply incredible and so well made, it just might become one of my favorite games of all time, especially if it keeps being this good 😄.

Sounds good, hopefully the players enjoy the collaboration! Would make me not want to get the game physically any more if I got this one though.

My heart goes out to the people losing their jobs, that always sucks. Also, hopefully this doesn't lead to a drop in the quality of Nintendo's customer support, which has been actually pretty good the few times I've had to use it.

Hopefully they don't make changes to be more politically correct in any more of these remakes. I dislike older media changed to be politically correct simply to make it politically correct.

I've heard good things about these ones, I would definitely play a remake! The soonest I can see it happening is 2028, halfway through Gen 10's lifecycle.

This was one of the parts of the Direct that a got a real "woah!" reaction from me, I'm totally interested. I really hope it's a full game this time without any dlc, fingers crossed 🤞!

I noticed that Mario Kart World recently got added to the event notifications settings in Nintendo Today, which a sign that there will be a lot of event tournaments going forward.

Absolutely awesome of them to do this, but they already had this exact same thing without the 40th anniversary branding for the past several years 🤣

What I've seen and heard of the game shows that it deserves these copies sold 😃. I myself won't be picking it up since I'm busy with other games, but I envy the people who do get to play it.

It's interesting that they're bringing back the original voice actors after so long! I love it whenever something like that happens. Hopefully the players of this game enjoy it.

That motorcycle idea is interesting, but hopefully it doesn't ruin the usual immersion of Metroid to any Metroid fans who play the game.

Sounds good, if they do the first one they might as well do the second one! Wasn't there a third one as well? The first one is still on my wishlist for now, and depending on reviews, I might pick it up after I finish Dragon Quest XI (whenever that happens 🤣).

I've noticed in general that often, the ones that complain about new entries in series are the fans of said series... and rightfully so, so what happened wasn't surprising.

Still haven't played this yet, but I mean to do so... someday... maybe in another 10 years... 🤣

Lmao that makes no sense whatsoever. Digital games do have a lifespan: your console breaking down after the server goes down. And the company decides the time that said server shuts down.

If I get a gap in my gaming schedule, I'll get the physical bundle with both of them. Not sure about the amiibo though, with the two of them together costing more then that physical bundle.

This... is kind of stupid. Having basically two versions of the exact same game without save data connection? Lmao, that is stupid. Also still disappointing that it's a Game Key Card. SE's games are amazing, but they can definitely make some rather dumb decisions when they feel like it. Well, I wasn't going to get this anyway because I'm still busy with Dragon Quest XI. Still, hopefully the players of this game have a good time with it 😃.

I love jumping in video games! Back when I played Pokémon Violet a lot in 2023, I consistently jumped around on my ride buddy Miraidon.

It would be a shame if it was "worse" on Switch 1 just to make it better on Switch 2, so hopefully this change isn't too bad.

Happy 40th anniversary, one of my favorite series of all time! I really haven't played many Mario games at all in my life, and the only ones that I have managed to beat are Odyssey and Wonder (both 10/10 games though I like Odyssey more), though I am interested in getting the Super Mario Galaxy games from that bundle announced yesterday at some point. 😃

News flash: I haven't beaten the game yet either 🤣! The farthest I've gotten is 4-2 on NSO, and that was with the World 4 pipe in 1-2 and a few rewinds. Yeah, I suck at old video games, which is why I don't play them often.

This is actually a really interesting looking piece of kit! Hopefully anyone who gets this has some fun with it! Unfortunately, I will have to pass, since I'm not made of money and have to pick and choose what I purchase.

Well, this is not the greatest situation. We'll, I might just be giving up on getting the game anyway depending on the situation with the limited time PVP reward Kalos starter Mega Stones.

Now this is not pricing that I like all too well. If you recall my comments yesterday, I actually liked the price of that Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 bundle, which was $35 for each game (a really good deal in my opinion). This is $50 for a single plastic figure with some game compatibility, so I don't know if I want it anymore.

Wow this actually looks pretty cool. It's a shame about the new pages not being included though.

@Jhena, Honestly, I'm probably going to have mixed feelings this entire console generation, between being exited for the new games and dreading Game Key Cards and Nintendo of America potentially canceling the releases of third party games I'm interested in, like what happened last fall (which was when my relationship with Nintendo started going downhill, to be honest). The dread is why I will continue to keep my Switch 1 around even after I get a Switch 2.

However, like you with the Yoshi game, I have not yet given up hope that things will improve. Nintendo has belted out a ton of games I'm interested in so far on the Switch 2, so many that I probably won't even be able to play all of them. The backwards compatibility is near perfect and will allow me to continue playing my Switch 1 games even after my Switch 1 eventually dies out. So far, Game Key Cards have not been selling all that well according to charts and all that stuff, so maybe publishers will listen and stop doing those. I always try my hardest to be positive, after all (though it is really hard sometimes 😂).

I have promised myself that as long as Mario Kart World doesn't ever have any paid dlc, then I will purchase and play it years down the road (most likely digitally, assuming that there are free content updates if there isn't any dlc). If it does have paid dlc, I will just skip it since Kirby Air Riders looks more interesting.

Apologies for the wall of text. If you actually took the time to read through this whole thing, thanks for listening, because I needed to rant a bit 😄. I'm glad that you're at least looking forward to Yoshi and had something to enjoy from the Direct! I think Yoshi looks good too, but I'll most likely have to skip it because of my tight gaming schedule.
