NFT's had the same energy as Homer Simpson making and trying to sell that love tonic: "After years of disappointment with get-rich-quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme, and quick!"
These days I usually go for digital. But on the off chance I do have a physical copy I just let it sit and collect dust when I'm done with it. Sometimes I like to just play them again on a whim later down the line. Plus I'm over trading stuff in, it's never worth the hassle. Gathering all the stuff up, driving all the way to the store, and then getting back about 10% what I paid for it originally, and that's if they're feeling particularly generous at the time. Often it's much less.
If they're smart, it better not have "Switch" in the title. It's just going to confuse customers and hurt their sales. Just like it did with Wii to WiiU and 3DS to New 3DS
Just sounds like an excuse to me. We've been controlling Yoshi's egg throwing for decades now, and just like that all of a sudden it's too difficult to figure out how to implement? And if it's too difficult for new players, well they don't have to use it, there's a ton of other characters to choose from.
I will always play new Pokemon games when they come out (eventually), but I will admit I have long been disillusioned with that franchise. It seems like as the hardware they were on got more and more advance, they too became more and more pompous and pretentious. The stories needlesly drawn out, saccharine, and self important. I don't know exactly what it is, but Pokemon just seems to be trying to hard to be heart-felt and cutesy rather than cool and fun, like it felt in the 90s. It's lost something and there seems to be no going back.
So I say to anyone who wants to fill their shoes, take their crown, or just co-exist to scratch that same itch that Pokemon once did, bring it on.
It shouldn't come to switch 2 anyway. Nintendo consoles have been consistently underpowered compared to their contemporaries for a long time now. They would most likely have to make so many concessions to get it working that the end result would be unfavorable to most. Just like what happened with the recent Mortal Kombat 1 port. What a terrible pile of puke that was.
Nintendo will be just fine with 1st and 3rd party games made specifically for the hardware, as they always have been. No need to waste time and resources by cramming in software that the system can't handle.
I understand they want to try new things and be quirky, but I just wish they'd go back to the way things were at the start of the series, with controller input gameplay. I'm sick to death of forced motion controls.
This game is almost TOO addictive, put in tons of time on switch. Just wish this game would come out on playstation so I could get trophies for it. Maybe one day, and then I'll gladly lose 100's of more hours starting over from scratch.
Capcom should stay as they are, but if they were to ever be bought by any of the console holders, I'd prefer it to be Nintendo. Maybe Mega Man would finally get back on track and out of compilation purgatory.
Anytime anything is coming out that I'm excited for be it a game, movie, whatever, I basically have to go completely dark on internet activity. Nowadays everyone is constantly tripping over themselves to put spoilers in the thumbnails and titles of everything in an effort to get clicks and views. Most of the time it's before the product is even released for the general publc to have even had a chance to experience it.
Mario's a little harder of a thing to spoil, at least in regards to story, since Nintendo rarely deviates from the core aspect of the series, but it's certainly possible to spoil the smaller things, the niceties of discovery.
I remember the very first time i tried the original Haunted House way back in like 89 on my dad's old 2600. I had no idea what was going on, but it was intriguing none the less. Maybe I'll check this out simply out of nostalgic curiosity.
Wonder if they'll have the original game somewhere on there to be found, like how the Doom games sometimes hide old Doom or Wolfenstein levels/games.
Truthfully I'm excited for any DLC characters that come a long, it's always interesting. If Ghostface turns out to be true, can't wait to see their fatal blow and finishers.
Wonder how much trouble it'd be for NR to make a fighting game with nothing but horror icons. Probably be a big bowl of licensing spaghetti, but I'm sure they could get people to play ball.
I know Nintendo doesn't "need" to put out top tier hardware to compete with Sony and Microsoft, they proven that 1000 times over, but just once I wish they DID put out top tier hardware so when I play a nintendo game I can feel like I'm in the current gen, rather than the last gen, for the first time since SNES.
That looks absolutely horrendous. I would've rather they not put anything out at all for the switch. When you have to cut corners this much just to get it running what's the point? Glad I have another system to play it on, because if switch was my only option I'd be very upset.
Certainly they could've thought of someone better than Peachette? We've already got Peach, Baby Peach, Cat Peach, Pink Gold Peach, and now Peachette which is, let's be honest, just Peach again. How about some variety? What about a character we've never ever had before? Like Wart or Tingle or something?
This is just like The Simpsons episode with the "new" Malibu Stacy, it's yet another Peach "but she's got a new hat!"
Feels like Simpsons is the best and obvious answer, considering that the original arcade game was so amazing. However, it would be really fantastic to have a new Real Ghostbusters game, in any capacity.
I'll probably get it eventually, but not any time soon. I've already worked the main game to death and have done all I can do, kinda burned out on it for the time being. My eyes are on Mortal Kombat now.
I've seen many "reliable sources" say one is coming, so I'm leaning towards that it most likely IS coming. I just hope there are more forthcoming Gameboy/GBA games revealed.
I gave up on Splatfests a long, long time ago. No matter who I pick, no matter how hard I fight, the team that I choose never ends up winning. I've tried picking the same team several times in a row, I've tried switching it up at random, I've tried just going with my gut, I've tried picking the most popular choice. Nothing. Literally 100% of the time. Not once. I think I'm just cursed in that regard.
Really hope this comes to the West. The first game on DS was my introduction to Arino and the whole Game Center CX experience. I didn't know anything about him or the show when I saw it on the shelf. I checked out the back of the box and thought the concept was interesting and the games looked neat, so I picked it up. Only later did I find out about Arino and the show and was instantly hooked and watched every episode I could come across. Fingers crossed!
Can't wait for this game. The whole think looks amazing and they're finally treating Reptile (my fave character) with some respect after countless installments of making him a doofus whipping boy.
Makes sense. He's about 70 and has been doing this for nearly 30 years. Time to change it up a bit, both for the character and for himself. I'm sure whatever comes after will be fine.
Still, will take some getting used to, like when The Simpsons stopped using composer Alf Clausen after 27 seasons.
Considering Nintendo seems to have no interest in continuing the Punch-Out!! series anytime soon (it's going on 15 years since the last one), I welcome any and all wacky takes on the boxing genre.
I don't mind too much that I no longer have all my console games, since after the Wii/PS3/360 generation I have opted for the digital download more often than the physical disc anyway.
But for handhelds, I REALLY wish I still had my games. So many great GB/GBC/GBA/DS/3DS games I no longer have access to and would take a fortune to replace. I can't remember if I sold them or trashed them or lost them or what, but I really wish I still had them. Those were a lot fun.
At least Nintendo has given me an opportunity to revisit the Pokemon TCG game on GBC. That's one of my biggest time sinks ever. Hopefully on the next wave of GB titles at least one of the original Pokemon games is included.
I have no real clue how far I have gotten in the game. I've done a lot of exploring, completely filled out the surface map and the sky map, probably about 50-75% done with the underground map, done TONS of sidequests, gone after a lot of armor sets, and on the main story I've done all the temples and gotten all the helper spirits, even the extra one underground, went and fought that spirit ganon thing(s) in the castle, but haven't actually gone in for the final fight. Don't even know how far I have to go yet to get to the final fight.
I've kind of lost the thread on what I'm supposed to be doing and what side stuff I was in the middle of and just kind of moved on to other games. I'll be back to finish what I started eventually...maybe.
This stil stands for me as the best Pokemon game that's not a part of the main line entries. It's so mind boggling that given the sustained high popularity of Pokemon and the actual Pokemon TCG itself they've never really done another TCG video game, besides that other follow up GBC entry in 2001, but that was Japan only. I know there's the TCG Live game on PC/ios/android whatever, but they really need to do another one for console. They don't need to reinvent the wheel, it could be essentially the same exact format as this game, just obviously with better visuals and more cards added. But even as old as this game is and how man pokemon/types are missing, it STILL is a really fun time. I love this game.
I doubt they lifted anything from Elden Ring specifically, but you can see hints of inspiration from Souls games in general throughout Botw/Totk. But that's just the evolution of open world games in general, everything influences everything else to a degree. Nintendo still did their own thing as much as FromSoft does theirs.
I get why they want to get rid of any kind of glitches that might mess with the games code/memory for fear that it might mess up a save file or something and really cause an issue, but at the same time I feel like these glitches are almost necessary at times.
Like when trying to get certain materials for upgrading gear. I spent over 2 hours grinding for just ONE Lynel gut, because no matter how many I defeated or which color mane they had, it just wouldn't give me one. Not one. And I needed SIX to upgrade my gear.
So I use duping for stuff like that to save hours of grinding. I'm not too worried that they're patching what they can, because the player community will always find a way through.
Classic. Reggie was 100% right on this. It seems like every time I hear about Miyamoto behind the scenes, more often than not he's against change or innovation, especially if it wasn't his idea. He might have had a hand in creating some good games, but he seems like a real stick in the mud when it comes to deviating from the well worn path.
I find it odd though for them to take pre-orders with no release date solidified yet. It's strange when anyone does this, not just for this game, especially when it's not a limited release.
