Conan O'Brien, bless him, is a good sport when it comes to gaming.

The television host has been known to dabble in the industry in the past, even hanging out with the likes of Shigeru Miyamoto and Hideo Kojima. But that doesn't necessarily mean he's always clued up on certain games, as a recent episode of the 'Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend' podcast has demonstrated.

As pointed out by our friends over at GoNintendo, the story goes that Conan was on a Zoom call with some colleagues and happened to catch a glimpse of a rather handsomely designed living room in the background of one. He quickly complimented the employee on her "cool, creative, Etsy-style room" before being told that it was actually a screenshot from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

A separate colleague then turned the screw and stated that the game doesn't exactly boast the most photo-realistic graphics, but is "kind of like The Smurfs".

Conan's defence was that the screen was filled with small boxes, but this excuse didn't seem to sit well with the others on the show. To be honest, we've seen some pretty swish-looking Animal Crossing abodes — ones that put our real-life residences to absolute shame! If Conan mistook a stylish shack for our actual house... well, we'd probably rub it in, too, but we'd still take the compliment!

If you want to hear the story for yourself, head over to the 'Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend' podcast and skip over to the 5:30 mark.
