Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?

Mariotag

I'd say, it isn't the difficulty that gets me. Rather, some cheapness with bosses.

The boss I most recently defeated had a neat gimmick where, aside from its two attack patterns, it summons other enemies to fight. But the boss does double damage, making an early game boss insanely difficult and cheap.

The idea is clear enough, but the double damage ruins it.

Having said that, I like the occasional cheap surprise.
The traps are a neat inclusion.

Re: Square Enix Wants Feedback About Its New HD-2D Game Coming To Switch 2

I'm still trying to download it.
Switch 2 appears to have been anti-optimized for older internets.

Something they backported to OG Switch as well.

So Nintendo devices are literally the only ones that don't fully function on my internet now.

I'm looking forward to trying it though! Stupid name could become a gameseller. My problem is, why HD-2D again??

@BinaryMessiah
What sorts of internal politics?

I personally agree with the comment prior yours.
Nintendo would not have done this under Iwata/Reggie. Not any of this bs we've seen since switch 1 came out.

At bare minimum, there would have been measures taken to lighten the load on the consumer.

Re: Best Virtual Boy Games

It's weird seeing how awful some of the games on the list are.

Same time though, it's worth recognizing that the VB is an unfinished console. The N64 took the spotlight, and if not for that, we'd have seen a much different story.

Much as I like N64, I'd never wish for VB to have taken its place. But coexistence? That'd have been amazing...

Re: Here's What Donkey Kong Bananza Looked Like On Switch 1

Huh.
Looking at this, while I think it's a neat merit for it to move to switch 2, gives me a hot take.

What if they'd tried seeing if they could have a switch 1 build too?

Feels like some of the great early games were partially a product of creative ways to get around limitations. So I'd be curious how anything they developed going forward would be improved if they had done a switch 1 build as well.
