I still remember the one time playing Double Dash when managed to do a mini-boost away from something. I THINK it was a blue shell, but only cause I vaguely recall doing it to red shells too.
@MathByThePixel Honestly, don't fret about that. I actually did beat story mode, and some low level GP stuff. And I'm still not quite on the level of doing very hard story, or master mode. And I need to do some of that to play the AX courses.
Multiple choice made this too easy. Stuff like the Z2 question, and specific names and titles woulda stumped me otherwise, as it's been too long. Only thing keeping me down on the rankings was time.
Yup. It's too much. I was already bothered by $70 price points. Worth giving a slightly amused chuckle at Bravely Default sitting among giants, as a giant itself sitting at $50 though.
Also, @inflation, yeah. Inflation wouldn't be so much of a thing if we didn't have ppl up top giving us debt all the time. Honestly, I'm impressed that game prices stayed between $50-$70 for some 35 years as it is!
Well, the DS version exists..
But, 5 mil? Not much tbh. Chrono is part of the apex of JRPGs. It deserves more.
On another note, reading this, I realized, if "beyond the world of the game" applies to all the projects, we'll probably get neither rerelease nor sequel nor spinoff.
Huh. Well, I've yet to get the timeline page translated unfortunately. There are definitely a few things I'd want acknowledged by Sega, even if not canon. I did not know the Rivals games weren't canon, which is interesting. It'll be interesting to see how some of this fits, as well as what Sonic's world officially ends up being.
It's been a bit too long since I finished this one. Backlog awaits though! There's no chance the next Legends game will have the same theme. But it does bring the series a massive step closer to what I wanted back in 1999. As for Arceus being God, there's no chance he's displaying his full power. The Arceus you get is a mere fraction of him for one, and for another, the fight with him is more of a trial.
"Beyond the world of the original game". So uh, another Chrono Cross? A pachinko machine? Another sequel? No telling I guess. As for remake or port material, yeah, having it available would be neat, DS additions and all. I also liked Radiant Historia, as well as a number of others. Hopefully it won't be getting the FF7R treatment....
This pick is so hilariously lopsided, I'm genuinely tempted to be the troll and vote for the European art. It does at least get the fishing part right! But nah. The larger roster of characters in the others genuinely intrigues me. If this were like, an enjoyable RPG or something, I'd be tempted to pick it up to find out about the world, as well as who and what those characters are. Like, is the fox eared person in all three arts a kitsune?
Huh. Looking good! Gotta wonder though, will there still be that one combo that's incredibly broken from the OG? (Forget exactly what it was, but it includes that ghost walker tech.)
Huh. This list is an interesting one to have as user voted. Not every day you see one with a VB game on it.
Personally, I liked Wario Land 2 better than 3 because of its unique story based branching paths. Shake It is one I still need to finish. Or perhaps start fresh. I still want a copy of Wario World, and I'm still furious at myself for thinking I was being asked if I wanted a $70 something VB instead of the roughly $19 it actually was. I could have played them all by now if not for that.
"Most of the game"? Yet to finish Okamiden. So far, I've gotten the impression that it's almost entirely separated from where Amaterasu herself would be, leading to branching paths. In short, they wouldn't need to acknowledge Okamiden because Okami 2 would follow Ammy, who is somewhere else.
Honestly, imo, the N64 version gets the win on account of both the OG rustic feel, and more importantly, the difference in physics. It's much harder in the 3ds version to do hops as a Deku, and the Zora swimming is pretty different. For all the significant improvements the 3ds version made, changing that which did not need be changed from the OG absolutely brought the experience down.
Am curious, what are the roguelike elements in this? Are they more along the lines of Starfox 64 requiring you to restart the set of stages if you run out of lives? Or is it harsher?
@DollyrotsFan1 I dunno who Lady Shiva is. Also, worth mentioning is that I'm pretty sure that where Origins sets up Harley Quinn, Asylum is her actual first role as a villain, cause she seemed to be staff immediately before the game, with her taking over security being her big betrayal. I'd love to see a bigger, better Gotham. But the big name villains aren't particularly there. Maybe a game leading up to Joker's capture at the start of Asylum? Either way, if Rocksteady is out of it now, then I have little faith.
Honestly, I have to wonder who the devs for the different games were. The Arkham trilogy, Suicide Squad, and the prequel games. Anyway, I don't see how they could have another Batman Arkham after the ending of Knight.
Alright! Mayhap there be hope for a Golden Sun 4 yet! (Insert deluded fan of a probably dead franchise here) Yeah, I know Dark Dawn wasn't the best, or best received, but as a game that came late in the DS life cycle, as well as being a sort of experiment... They can absolutely redeem themselves. Bare minimum, a remaster of the existing games. To leave this series off how they did was just cruel, especially since an interview referred to the first two games as "the prologue to the main event".
@N00BiSH Not even implied. In the first game, the fortuneteller, I think called Madam Clairvoya, explicitly states "Bowser has been defeated", as well as showing signs of shock occasionally with a reaction like he should not be here. This is not possible. meaning the final battle actually does make it look like you're fighting Bowser's corpse.
Huh. Reading this is a bit weird tbh. Aside from the way LM1 established it's set in an era where Bowser has already been defeated, it is worth mentioning that the atmosphere actually has the original up above both sequels imo. In 2 and 3, you don't really get the vibe that the first game gives you. Only a couple floors in 3 managed that. Having said that, an abandoned Bowser's Castle would be neat. Cruise ship for the isolation, village removed from society. LM1 did well in part cause Nintendo wasn't afraid to really push it.
"These days it's hard to see anything but two choices: stick your head in the sand, blanking and blocking anything negative in the name of self-preservation (and at the risk of appearing frivolous or ignorant); alternatively, get involved in the daily discourse, which inevitably devolves into knee-jerk snark, ill-informed takes, accusations and awfulness." Yup. Sounds about right. Increased media and chatter has also reduced ppl's ability to interact about it civilly imo.
As for Miiverse itself, I enjoyed the first few years of my time there. Yes, artists were a big deal. But there were also chatrooms, and more importantly, you could always ask a question about a game and get a proper answer, or just post a funny. I actually ended up making the start of a sort of fanfic out of grinding Smash. As for that pic, uhh, Pika doesn't look hot from that angle. If It were like, Charizard, or Incineroar though, I could see it.
@Lightsiyd Huh. Good to know. I have been at least a little interested in NGB 1 and 2, but my Xbox doesn't have the storage space, and I'd want to play classic NG first.
Huh. Neat! Honestly though, Tales games weren't my go-to for multiplayer. The fact multiplayer only occurs in battle was a detriment. As for Arise, I hear it was originally intended to be a different IP, so multiplayer Tales could easily return.
Yeah, all jokes aside, this is good news. I'm looking forward to the successor! (Partly to find out if I should wait before buying certain switch 1 games...)
Interesting. I'll be blunt and ask, is this genre like the Final Fantasy kind of RPG dungeon crawler? Or is it closer to point and click? If point and click, what're the main draws?
@wiiware Except, the lead director for Bayo Origins was stated to have left, yet that game is still there, and similar deal with Astral Chain's director, though that's listed as a rumor.
Huh. I got SF Zero relatively recently. It's been in my Wii U for a bit now, waiting for me to start. But have been swamped with games, so it might be a bit longer. Interestingly enough, I'm just a couple chapters into Revengeance as well.
I remember seeing MadWorld around. I can't figure on why they'd remove these games.
Anyway, for me, another reminder of the tragedy that was Wii U not having enough marketing effort put behind it for it to gain as much traction as it should have. (Among other things)

Re: Video: Nintendo Today Gives Us Another Look At F-Zero GX For Switch Online
@wuntyme8
Honestly, an F-Zero Adventures would be amazing.
Captain Falcon is a bounty hunter canonically, and we rarely, if ever, get to see that.

@Ganon821 Ehh. I try to stay out of it.
Re: Nintendo Of America President Says Tariffs "Not Factored" Into Switch 2 Price
@Overzeal He did? Well hopefully they go down!
Honestly, Nintendo? I'm impressed. That wasn't a tentative price point? You were gonna go straight ahead with that price for the console?
Slow claps Well done.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Nintendo Switch 2 Special
I initially wanted to go with DK, but for some reason, couldn't not go with Mario Kart...
Re: Nintendo Outlines Switch Online's Updated Tiers Including Switch 2 Exclusives

Grats on getting faster than me then!
I'll admit, I took my sweet time looking at the percentage of what others got right.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
I sadly, cannot rate it, as on a scale from 1-10, it is simultaneously a 10, AND a -10.

I have genuinely missed Reggie sooo much since Wii U died.
For reasons like this exactly.
Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Is Getting A Special Switch 2 Edition This July
@Waluigi451
This was my reason for being upset with how the OG switch handled things.
Like, I bought all this stuff, and you want me to buy it again?
The excuse back then was that not many ppl had a Wii U, thus these games could get better light. That doesn't fly now.
Re: Talking Point: Which Switch Game Needs A 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' The Most?
Smash Ult here. Not cause performance issues primarily, but cause it just didn't have the modes or functional online play to make it as engaging.
