Re: Best Pokémon Games Of All Time

Really interesting rankings. I appreciate that the switch games are at the bottom. So much more could be done with the games at the point we're at now.
Also, Diamond&Pearl might make me a girl? 0-0'

@SortingHat Ohh boy don't I know it.
I felt Wii era had unbalanced difficulty. That was when I first had an issue with Nintendo's games.
This whole switch era, with the exceptions of a few key games, has felt really shoddily put together. It's pretty much riding the coattails of Wii U and 3DS, only, because of the attention they're giving it, it's become their definitive console in a way. Most of the big name games are ports, or sequels that aren't completely their own thing, (Splatoon 2), or, they feel like mobile games in terms of bulk. Not quite AS bad as mobile games, but certainly far too compact. And ofc, because the games are releasing on switch, they're the best recognized games in the respective series. It's infuriating. And that's even before getting to joycon issues, NSO, and some of the limited time marketing strategies, though I will admit, if FE 2-6 came out of Japan with that strategy, I'd likely buy them.

@ModdedInkling Yeah, I was thinking more that the original HW got 4 new major expansions from the one dlc at $20, while AoC only gets like, 2. The games themselves are different on some levels, but I still look to see what worth I'm getting for my money.
And, as luck would have it, I just finished P5 Strikers.
I still don't know the new ending of royal, except, I think it's optional?

Re: Nintendo Says It's Already "Looking Into" Animations Beyond The Mario Movie

@johnvboy I'm not necessarily thinking about the immediate prior games.
Like in the case of Super Mario Party. It's definitely a step up from some of the more recent Mario Party games, but imo it pales in comparison to early titles in the series, if only due to the scale of the game.
And, Paper Mario: The Origami King, I have yet to play it. I've heard good things about it, as well as some complaints. But I'd not see it holding its ground with the first three Paper Mario games. Yet because it sold a lot on switch, it's considered the "best".

@ImBackBB
Haha, it's not dying. If anything, its success is overwhelming.
And I mean that in both a good and bad way.
Anything that releases on switch seems to instantly become the most successful in the franchise it's from. I don't think a lot of these games deserve that extreme of success, because it takes away from what the previous "best" entries did that were amazing. Basically okaying a potential step down.
