Re: Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble Update Adds Among Us DLC

Mariotag

Having said that, as a completionist sort of gamer. Uhh. The adventure missions... They kinda reach the point where they, if not the normal ones, then absolutely the expert ones, reek of I need a guide type of bs. Kinda like the stages themselves could get in Super Monkey Ball 2... (Remember that one with all the switches? Iirc, 6-something or another. I've been curious for a while now how a vet like ProtonJon might pull that level off without a guide...)

@mlt
Uh. So, in Euros, the game DLC basically costs the same as it does in dollars?

Anyway, having been playing the game, I respectfully disagree with the notion the battle minigames are bad.
I don't know about all multiplayer. Never played multi adventure. At the same time, as of yet, I do not know if you can pick a minigame when playing with friends/family.
But the minigames themselves? They don't have as much variety as in older games, but, I can clearly tell the reason is because they didn't want to leave anyone waiting. Every minigame is action focused. That doesn't make it bad.

Re: PSA: Trading Is Finally Live In Pokémon TCG Pocket, But It's A Real Headache

Oh jeez. This is messed up. Though I do appreciate the fact you don't have to go out to collect cards, or pay a hefty sum. It's a shame, I keep getting the special arts for some cards I want the normal variants for, and normal for ones I want special art for. In excess. Was hoping to be able to trade some of my extra EX cards and the like for what I'm missing.

Also, did not know about the PoGo to PoHome issue. Makes me glad I never got super into that. Though I may someday try to get my gen 6 teams to modern gen, if possible.

Re: Nintendo Asks Wii U Owners To Refrain From Using "Unauthorised" Online Services

Honestly, yeah. When switch came out, I saw this clearly, and was very upset at how they were handling things. When Wii came out in Europe, they ran a promo campaign with a significant reward. When they price dropped 3ds, people who bought it from before the drop were compensated. From Wii U's collective loss from their mistakes to switch? Nothing. Absolutely nothing, with the added bonus of "oh here, we made most of our library for the immediate future out of Wii U games, but we added extra features that you can't get on Wii U, so you gotta buy them again.".

Re: Castlevania Dominus Collection Lands New Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Mariotag

@smolsauce This. This would be wonderful. Granted, I already effectively have 3 of the 4 games, but it'd still be nice.

@mlt This is almost certain to not happen unfortunately. Apparently, Sony themselves took part in getting the rondo and SotN games onto more modern platforms. To an extent, they have the right to deny a possible collection to others if true.

Re: Reminder: Sonic X Shadow Generations 'Sonic 3 Movie Pack' DLC Now Available

Mariotag

@SalvorHardin
Eh. It's what I've been doing. Long and tedious process, especially since I want to 100% the game.
And yeah. One stage, 5 dollars. Like, Wii U era, DLC bundles were more $20 for immense amounts of content. A fourth of that now only equals one stage?
It reminds me of the Pokemon DLC, and how I can't help but compare it to the special edition games back in the day.

Re: Review: Fairy Tail 2 (Switch) - Hurt By Its Breakneck Pace, But Still A Step Up

Mariotag

@-wc-
Heh. I played it much later on, as a Wii U VC type game. The far north thing was like, iirc, in lategame, I foolishly chose to fast travel to where, I think Jeff started out. And uhhh. Getting back was a bit much. There wasn't enough room to actually fast travel back. I still need to play Origins, and am contemplating how might play the elusive Mother 3... As much as I want an official English release, they've had plenty of chances and provided nothing. But I also don't want to just grab it off the internet.

Re: Book Review: An Unendorsed Anthology Of Club Nintendo - A Terrific Tribute Tome

Mariotag

I miss Club Nintendo. To me, the change from CN, to My Nintendo is one of a number of representations of how Nintendo has gone from being a gaming company for the consumers, to more a flat out business in it much more for the money than before.
I only got a handful of the rewards initially. But I did eventually get to splurge on goodies at the very end.

Another unfortunate thing is that it took far longer for Club Nintendo to reach here in the US.

Re: Opinion: Chrono Trigger Isn't The Only Great Time-Travel RPG On DS

Mariotag

I remember this game! At the time, I had been enjoying a few different time travel games, Chrono Trigger among them. (And FFXIII-2, which imo, vastly improved over the original)
Radiant Historia was glorious. I forget why I never tried replaying it. Maybe cause 100% was pain? Perfect Chronology was one I wanted, but I never had the money while it was around for a fair price. My younger bro DID get it however, so I have the DLC...
