While we have our differences (I was never sociable enough back then to actually have playground talk, but heard of Pikablu all the same), I actually have a bunch of these on my list as Pokemon I like/appreciate, notable differences being that I always picked fire (not the Japanese name for Moltres, but the starter), and that I could never afford the Switch Pokemon DLC.
Huh. I mostly played without knowing which classes did what.
Had no idea Angela's Light set could do more than her dark. I had Keven dark all the way as well, with just one spell iirc. And finding out Charlotte was a healer was a big deal.
Second run, I picked Hawkeye as my main. Just gotta get back to it.
I found myself wondering if the Kong names are inherited, like titles. Not sure as of yet. But Pauline inheriting a name from a former Pauline makes some sense too.
Greedy greedy greedy, it's the name of the show. Greedy greedy greedy, they've got wallets y'know?
Yeah. Just feels like another prideful and greedy step to mirror some of the other stuff they've done lately.
Last betrayal of this nature I remember though, was when the Pokemon anime was taken from 4kids, prob for good reason, and they decided they wouldn't spend a cent more than they had to for the dub.. I didn't notice it at the time, but the OG VAs weren't the only ones shafted...
Honestly, seeing all the traps in this game caught me off guard.
I ended up spoiled on the bench, but simply had to experience it for myself anyway.
Nowhere near as bad as the unnecessary double damage bosses imo. Especially considering the playable character is at least somewhat known for using traps herself.
I'd say, it isn't the difficulty that gets me. Rather, some cheapness with bosses.
The boss I most recently defeated had a neat gimmick where, aside from its two attack patterns, it summons other enemies to fight. But the boss does double damage, making an early game boss insanely difficult and cheap.
The idea is clear enough, but the double damage ruins it.
Having said that, I like the occasional cheap surprise. The traps are a neat inclusion.
I know Phantasia got a PSP remake, but only in Japan.
I aim to get that with a translation patch.
Also, @ShieldHero I've been at the games for a while. They have different styles throughout the series. While I personally started with Symphonia, a lot of ppl say Vesperia is the best one.
And I didn't know that era alone had three! I think these days, people are more hyper-aware. Especially of Nintendo, as they are more or less gaming Disney now, in terms of reputation.

Re: PSA: Pokémon Legends: Z-A eShop Preloads Go Live Ahead Of Launch
Welp, now to see if there'll be leaks, and a supremely ticked off Nintendo, cause, y'know, them vs the internet.
Re: Meet The Sages (And Zelda's Maid) In Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment
I'm seeing the official names now..
Honestly, I feel like the name for Zelda's maid was better in romanized Japanese.
Lanaria. Reference to Lanayru maybe?
But nahhh.
Faron is still the only region to not have the name of a golden goddess in it.
Re: Feature: From Z To A — Honouring My Favourite Pokémon, One Letter At A Time
Articuno having that extra appeal as a pokemon you needed to solve a puzzle to reach. It was right there the whole time.
Lugia being the main for the first movie I saw in theaters... (I couldn't handle other movies at the time. Toy Story 2 scared me half to death.)
Flygon being another fave of mine.
Re: Feature: From Z To A — Honouring My Favourite Pokémon, One Letter At A Time
Wow. This list is so relatable in so many places.

Re: Video: After Six Wonderful Years, Zion Is Leaving Nintendo Life
@Jayenkai This, though I see it already got a reply.
I only ever interacted with a team member like, once.
Best wishes Zion!
Re: Surprise! A New "Free-To-Start" Fire Emblem Game Is Out On Mobile Devices Today
Interesting idea.
Probably proof FEH really is gonna end soon though.
Was never good at this type of game though.
Re: Do Bananza And Odyssey Share The Same Pauline? Donkey Kong Dev Won't Confirm Anything
I found myself wondering if the Kong names are inherited, like titles. Not sure as of yet.
But Pauline inheriting a name from a former Pauline makes some sense too.
Re: Nintendo Adds One Of The Most Divisive Zelda Entries To 'Nintendo Music'
Huh. What's the difference between NES version and FDS version?

Hope the contractors find good work.
Re: Nintendo Adds Another Golden Sun Soundtrack To Nintendo Music
@Tyranexx
Eh. Ups and downs.
Lack of Golden Sun for 15 years has me bothered though.
As well as all the DLC.
Re: ICYMI: If You Want To Play Virtual Boy Classics, You'll Need To Buy One Of Nintendo's Accessories
@ndunsmo
Seriously? Where is this stated?
Re: ICYMI: If You Want To Play Virtual Boy Classics, You'll Need To Buy One Of Nintendo's Accessories
@WaveBoy
Yup. If only I noticed it was under $20, instead of over $70...
Re: New Limited-Time Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Distribution Now Available
I'm just like, do I take my game out with this event over? Or keep it in for another one?
Re: Nintendo Adds Another Golden Sun Soundtrack To Nintendo Music
@Tyranexx
Fair. Life happens. Still nice seeing you around.
Direct came and went. Instead of GS, we got a truckload of dlc. Even the premium sub got paid dlc. Gotta love it.
Re: ICYMI: If You Want To Play Virtual Boy Classics, You'll Need To Buy One Of Nintendo's Accessories
@WaveBoy
Meanwhile, I'm reminded of my big VB oopsie...
Passing one up for $19....
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Getting DLC Featuring Two Different Mega Raichu
@Yoshi3
This.
This direct was the direct of paid dlc.
Even the premium subscription is getting paid dlc in the form of virtual boy games.
I've been upset with them since OG switch, and now they've gotten cocky from their success, to the point they're burning it as fuel.

Re: Nintendo Adds Another Golden Sun Soundtrack To Nintendo Music
@Tyranexx Ohhh yes. 4 is a must to me. But they'd probably need to make a remake package first.
And I figured. Even I'm feeling the burden.

Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong's Upcoming Patch Will Nerf The Difficulty In Certain Areas
I wouldn't say too hard, no..
Just overly cheap in the boss department.
Optional fix please~
Re: Nintendo Adds Another Golden Sun Soundtrack To Nintendo Music
@Tyranexx
Nice seeing you!
Glorious retro music this is!
Now I just need my Golden Sun 4...
Re: Video: Trails In The Sky 1st Chapter DLC Overview Trailer Released
@ShieldHero
This is why I would get the OG Switch version, and upgrade.
Re: Reminder: Here's When Hollow Knight: Silksong Releases In Your Time Zone
Welp, mine finally started. Just a few hours of downloading to go.
Re: Reminder: Here's When Hollow Knight: Silksong Releases In Your Time Zone
@Oldstalk

Or no?
Re: Reminder: Here's When Hollow Knight: Silksong Releases In Your Time Zone
Well, it ain't showing as released on PSN...
Re: Reminder: Here's When Hollow Knight: Silksong Releases In Your Time Zone
@mctrials23
So...the eshop has actually crashed?
Re: Reminder: Here's When Hollow Knight: Silksong Releases In Your Time Zone
Loads shop of my choosing
**isn't listed as out yet**
***Maybe resetting will help?***
Re: 66 Switch 1 & 2 Games You Should Check Out In The eShop 'Blockbuster Sale' (North America)
This is very much a "I need more money and storage room" sale.
Unfortunate that neither is available atm.
Re: Poll: When The Heck Is Metroid Prime 4 Actually Launching?
I could care less when it's coming. I just know that it's coming.
Please let it be a timeslot I have a budget during!
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Finally Has A Release Date
Bout time! Now, price?
Re: Tales Of Xillia Remastered Coming This October, Confirmed 30fps For Switch
@ottoecamn
Yeah. Considering the canon.....especially with Muzet.
Re: Tales Of Xillia Remastered Coming This October, Confirmed 30fps For Switch
@Aurumonado
Like a fool, I went and got platinum for both Xillias.
So uh. Don't beat yourself up.
Re: Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma Ships Over 500,000 Copies
I'm still trying to figure if this is more farming sim RPG, or if it has some JRPG.
Also wanna know how much mythology.
Re: Shinobi: Art Of Vengeance To Get Classic SEGA Villains Stage DLC Next Year
Now I'm interested.
Idek the kind of game Shinobi is.
Ninja Gaiden like?
Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Is Putting This Pronunciation Debate To Bed
Apologies, but having been seeing the current iteration of the anime subbed, Imma go with "Rekkuza"...
That aside, my big pronunciation debate is if you canonically have to call the god of the pokemon world an arse anytime you refer to him by name.

@breach187
This.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
Silksong is slated for this year. Probably finally a given.
Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey
@sethfranum
This has been a problem for a long time.
Arguably, digital can cost more.
Nintendo never discounts their big games much, but retailers? They do.
Re: Mario Voice Actor Charles Martinet Will Appear At MCM Comic Con In Birmingham
I'm honestly glad that this article refers to how he made his games. Puts a lil more emphasis on the fact he had a role.
Anyway, gotta wonder where in 'bama Birmingham is... I keep forgetting, but I think it's a lot further north than I'm up for going.
Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey
Survey was only there a handful of hours...
I wanted to put my opinion out there.
Also, to the two discussing it, how would a used market for digital games even work? You can't buy digital secondhand...
Re: Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack Won't Offer Switch Upgrade Path Or Save Data Transfer
Is this a particularly good set of Atelier games?
And can I ever expect discounts?
Re: Nintendo Sends Out Second Game-Key Card & Physical Game Survey
It says the survey is not currently active?
Re: Square Enix Wants Feedback About Its New HD-2D Game Coming To Switch 2
I'm still trying to download it.
Switch 2 appears to have been anti-optimized for older internets.
Something they backported to OG Switch as well.
So Nintendo devices are literally the only ones that don't fully function on my internet now.
I'm looking forward to trying it though! Stupid name could become a gameseller. My problem is, why HD-2D again??
Re: Sony Acquires 2.5% Stake In Bandai Namco As Part Of New "Strategic Partnership"
Oh joy...
Sony can influence things even more now?
I don't want that.
It's already frustrating enough having what's already the case.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Getting Its Very Own Switch 2 Bundle
@darkfenrir Good.
I just confirmed with my local store.
Ultimately, I want to lessen the storage burden on my switch 2, and have as many of these games as possible available for either system.
Re: Toad And Toadette's New Voice Actors Have Been Confirmed
@Dr_Lugae
Mario Party probably.
And I didn't know that era alone had three!
I think these days, people are more hyper-aware. Especially of Nintendo, as they are more or less gaming Disney now, in terms of reputation.
Re: Toad And Toadette's New Voice Actors Have Been Confirmed
@JJtheTexan
I mean, Pokemon USA did similar way back before they changed their name..
I strongly dislike what Nintendo is right now.
Interesting thought though, which Toad was it I knew from the N64 era?
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Getting Its Very Own Switch 2 Bundle
I'm just wondering if there's an upgrade path.
I don't wanna limit this to my switch 2.
