Re: Random: Zelda: Majora's Mask's Title Was Inspired By Jurassic Park, Says Takaya Imamura

MS7000

"Also in the interview, Imamura confessed that he hoped to work on one more Zelda game before his retirement in 2021, though the opportunity never came about. The art for this one would have been "more unique, with a little twist" on the modern-day style, bringing things back to the darker tone of Majora's Mask — now just picture that..."

Maybe not with Imamura, but here's hoping that perhaps such a Zelda materialises in the near future.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

MS7000

The only real thing I noticed in my changed approach compared to BOTW, is that there was a good period of time where I came across shrines, activated the fast-travel point, then promptly ignored them for a few hours. In a similar fashion, I have also ignored the Koroks which need transporting, as I wanted to continue what I was doing at the time. Otherwise, I did stuff as I came across it, just like in BOTW.

Re: Zelda: TOTK Playtimes Start To Appear, And Some People Haven't Been Getting A Lot Of Sleep

MS7000

According to the parental control app, which I use as an activity log because Nintendo won't bake one into the Switch OS, I have spent 72 hours in the game so far. I can guarantee that a good 10 hours of those will have been me falling asleep randomly and leaving the game until sleep mode kicks in or I wake up and continue playing.

I have done the "dungeons", about 60 something shrines done with fully upgraded stamina, gotten the tears/"memories" whatever, and ready to fight Ganon. Only thing I am holding off for is the Master Sword (I cannot track down that stupid Light Dragon).

Re: Random: Go Full 'Tony Hawk' With This Simple Zelda: TOTK Trick

MS7000

@Olliemar28 It makes sense since as you said, they could just remove it afterwards, but (and bearing in mind I am still early-ish in TOTK so I could be wrong), Hylian Shield is probably the best shield in the game, so I just found it funny that they would pick that shield out of all of them.

Re: Every First-Party Nintendo Switch Game That Has Sold Over One Million Copies

MS7000

Some interesting figures on here. I do wonder what the true numbers are for some of the older entries, but perhaps we may get an update in the future.

I am keeping an eye on the sales of Engage against Three Houses as I am curious how it performs. I've still yet to pick up Engage myself.

I would like Metroid to keep improving especially the Prime remaster, but relative to other games on the list, I feel it hasn't done too badly. I just hope there is enough to convince Nintendo to keep making them.

Still don't like the concept of a Wii U port being the best-seller, with or without the expansion. I do wish the top 10 had a bit more variety but eh.

Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Upcoming Switch Games, And It's Slim Pickings

MS7000

This reiterates what I said following the previous Nintendo Direct about Nintendo themselves having so little announced. I am also just gonna paste my comment from the last investor Q&A:

"Furukawa (Nintendo) is hardly going to admit that they have nothing. Perhaps they do have something, but until they say something, easier to assume nothing. As much as I enjoyed the recent direct; all of Nintendo's stuff were games and DLC announced previously with one new announcement of an admittedly decent remaster. Perhaps they are waiting for Zelda to pass, perhaps they are preparing a new console, perhaps they have dropped the ball; it's all irrelevant anyway; we still going to have to wait until they finally decide to say something."

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Ganondorf?

MS7000

Ocarina of Time design for me, though probably biased. His Smash Ultimate design is slightly cleaner OOT, but I still prefer the original. A very close second would be his design from Hyrule Warriors with his L'Oréal hair.

Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo

MS7000

@Varkster "Also it's again that paradox in what you're saying: if the people on this website are allowed to express their opinions despite how benign they may be, then I am allowed to trash their opinions in an open comment. As long as it doesn't attack or offend anybody personally."

And that is fine. Heck, if anything I encourage you to continue giving your opinions. I am certainly not going to stop you. But you seem so certain that "90% of the comments" have nothing of value to say, so why engage with them?

I also feel like a lot of people are happy to write off other opinions if they don't align with their own; they're allowed to do that, but nothing ever changes if no ones willing to talk about it. Probably why hot takes get so much engagement is because it gets people talking.

On a more general note for everyone specifically regarding TOTK; if you like what you see so far; then that is great; don't let others get you down. Even with my misgivings, I have no doubt that it will be a good game.

Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo

MS7000

@Varkster How's this for a hot take: have you considered that perhaps you're in the wrong website? If people's opinions on a game, whether positive or negative bother you so much, are you sure the user base here is the problem and not yourself?

Most of the people on this site are here because Nintendo has been a significant part of their life, whether they started back around the beginning of Nintendo's history, or if they are new followers because of the Switch; naturally, everyones going to have opinions on Nintendo's output, regardless of how successful it is. If these opinions upset you, then that is unfortunate, but I don't see why people should leave just because you view the comments as hot takes. Heck, if you don't want to leave, start muting/blocking people. It reduces what you can get out of the site, but if it helps, then go for it.

Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo

MS7000

@Bolt_Strike Couldn't agree more with this comment. It also doesn't help that the biggest selling point of BOTW is the exploration.

Asset reuse is not a bad thing, and I am not sure why this is the only thing people seem to have extrapolated from criticism of what we have seen of TOTK so far. Again, I point to the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, which recyles Kamurocho in every game, yet at the same time, manages to feel fresh, though it also helps that the characters and story they introduce in each title are so interesting. Each game in that series stands as its own game.

Even in the Zelda series, A Link Between Worlds, while reusing the same map, feels fresh with new characters like Yuga and Hilda and new dungeons built entirely around the wall merge mechanic. But I have yet to see any of that in TOTK yet. Sure, I could be judging the game too harshly based on miniscule footage, but then perhaps Nintendo should actually show off more. BOTW "dungeons" felt very basic, so I can't put blind faith that TOTK will do better.

Re: Poll: How Many 3DS Consoles Have You Owned?

MS7000

5 of them.

Aqua Blue Original
A Link Between Worlds XL
Majoras Mask New XL
SNES New XL
AC Happy Home Designer New XL

Currently using the Majora's Mask one, but I am thinking of perhaps transferring to the SNES one in light of the eShop closing.

Re: Best Deals And Cheapest Games In The 3DS & Wii U eShop Sales

MS7000

Looking at my watch list on the 3DS eShop alone left me feeling sad; still a lot of stuff I am missing, though not for a lack of trying. I think I might try and buy Star Fox Guard, The 3DS Lourve Guide and maybe one or two more VC games before it closes in a few hours time.

Re: Another Nintendo Switch Online Seven-Day Free Trial Is Now Available

MS7000

@nhSnork If we are talking purely on an individual level from me, then they would actually see money from me buying Splatoon 3, and Mario Kart DLC, as opposed to no money at all from neither paying for the online or for the content I just mentioned. On a wider level, sure, perhaps they don't have incentive; I can't speak for everyone else when it comes to subscribing/not subscribing. It's certainly not for a better service than when it was free as it is still just as inconsistent.
