@Truegamer79 That's interesting. I would say 0 was considered the best (though I cannot vouch for the director's cut). I guess the real question is what specifically is not enjoyable for you. If the gameplay is the problem, I would say give Yakuza 7 (Yakuza Like a Dragon) a try. Otherwise, not sure what else to recommend without more info.
The Generation Pack. Comes with Resi 7, 8, 9. Comes in its own fancy box. Games are key cards... I get some people will collect anything, but it feels like it misses the point.
@SillyG Agreed. If you really must use Key Card, why make us suffer with 3 individual cards so we have to switch them out. All the disadvantages of physical with all the disadvantages of digital.
Devil is in the wording. If they mean full price on release, then probably 3-4 times a year at most. But if we are talking any games, then probably the equivalent to at least one every two weeks, if not more.
I was kind of hoping that when it came to Switch 2, it would be with all content, but it is coming full price with DLC as separate purchase. Caved and brought on PS5 for £18 a couple of weeks ago, and will probably play when I am finished playing Yakuza 8.
@AverageGamer Well, not quite what I was hoping, but I'll take it. Fair if you have not played the original 3; might be a blessing as the new cast won't have to compete with the old cast.
Realistically, I am expecting 30fps at 1080p for Kiwami 3. I am optimistic it could be better, but I will be surprised if so. Kiwami 2 runs at 30fps on PS4, but this is also the first time Dragon Engine is running on Switch 2, so could be something to look forward to as maybe they have had time to tweak the engine for Switch 2.
@AverageGamer Yeah, still sounds like you are looking for trouble otherwise you would have said something else by now. What do you think about the Rikya/Nakahara/Hamazaki recasts? Are you looking forward to spending more times with the kids at Kiryu's orphanage? Are you excited to listen to Tamiya's plot dump again? Or are you playing 3 for the first time off the back of 0, 1 and 2 when they release?
@AverageGamer So you don't care about Yakuza/Like a Dragon then? You get irked by comments on articles for games you care nothing about? It sounds like you are actively trying to pick fights. If anything, you are ruining the comments by not contributing anything at all. Have fun with that.
@AverageGamer That's great. So talk about the game. I did in my comment. Unfortunately, you get people like yourself and the second comment here who draw attention to Game Key Cards with statements like "Inb4 all on cart" or "In before people say Game Key Card bad". If you are truly tired of it, stop talking about it. But you won't.
Combat looking good as it usually does from RGG action games. Will pick this up on PS5 to play through Dark Ties.
I might get eventually on Switch 2, when heavily discounted.
I love how everyone is getting tired of the key card debate because they are fine with being reductive; just a piece of plastic indeed. Same people probably agree with paying for online and microtransactions.
I can see a developers point of view in why these cards are useful. But if this is the only "option" to bring games to the Switch 2, then I might as well not bother with the Switch 2.
@VeganH By your own logic, do you play games? If so, then why are you here? People can care about what they want.
I feel like too many strings were attached to these announcements; I don't think it was a bad direct per se, but I am still having troubles being excited for any third party game given the "physical" release is likely another game card such as DQ7. And it is also difficult to get excited over paid DLC which feels like it should have been part of the game in the first place and Switch 2 editions of games feel like a distraction. There are some things to look forward too, but not enough for me to be interested. Hopefully when March rolls around, some more exciting stuff will be on the horizon.
I shouldn't be surprised, but these Switch 2 editions are already getting old, and I get the horrible feeling a lot of the switch library is going to get Switch 2 editions. I am kind of expecting one for Paper Mario Origami King and another for Fire Emblem Three Houses at this point...
At this point in the direct, I had absolutely no clue what was going on anymore. I am curious about the bike, but also very confused. Cautiously awaiting more info.
Story wise, not as interested in this one as I was in Age of Calamity (though that ended up disappointing me sadly). Gameplay wise, looks pretty good; performance wise, looks much better. Will pick this up, though probably not at launch.
DK Island looks nice, but the actual new gameplay doesn't sound interesting. Gonna pass for now. If the DLC ever goes on sale in the future, might take another look but I expect that will be a minimum of 2 years away.
I have tried it earlier this year, and have gotten to a few different areas, but I kind of dropped off again. Certainly not going to be playing it at the moment; finally playing Octopath Traveler for the first time after having owned it since it launched back in 2018.
Didn't really enjoy the direct, though I don't think it was the worst; some announcements in their like Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Persona 3 Reload, but given that it appears all the games appear to be Key Card releases; this direct might as well not have existed as I certainly won't be buying them.
If Nintendo is not giving enough options for actual cards, they need to fix this asap. If 3rd parties do have other options but are sticking with key card releases anyway; then I can only hope that they do poorly. Perhaps in bad taste, but I am so sick of being asked for more and given less in return.
Having finished the story and now in process of 100% (already done for a few layers), the only thing that lets it down for me is the framerate as it is very inconsistent, and some dips are harsher than others.
Love the gameplay, love the VoidCo, love the Bananza transformations and music, love the satisfaction of wrecking anything and everything. I am thrilled that finally DK has another chance in the limelight.
I still wish Nintendo would bring back a proper activity log baked into the console like the 3DS activity log, as opposed to having to use a mixture of parental controls and recent activity in the friends section.
I would love to support all three of these. Bit difficult when the "physical" versions are just some Frankenstein monster with the worst of both worlds of physical and digital.
Yeah, I am not sure I am convinced more expression was a good reason for redesigning. If you look at Donkey Kong in Smash Bros and and Mario Strikers, there is no way you can tell me he wasn't expressive.
I've already accepted that design is gone now and there is nothing to be done about it. Just strange to me that people feel this design is that big an "improvement".
@Medic_alert I was going to say the exact same thing. Especially in Europe, Capcom have been very iffy with physical editions on Switch. No reason to think Switch 2 will be any better.
Never encouraging to hear anything like this. I don't like feeding into the "digital-only future" narrative. But it does make sense why it would be a quieter year.
It will probably just prompt saying NSO is needed for this and offer to take you to the eShop to buy a membership, just like any other online thing as hypothesized in the article
But that is a boring answer. I am personally hoping it will make candyfloss.
Went into a Sports Direct recently to go to the GAME there. Only two staff I could see in the shop, one at the front door as security, one at the ground floor tills. On the first floor where the game is, the games were mostly full price, and no one was there to sell a game anyway.
If you want to buy physically in the UK, you either do so online, or go to Smyths. Not really many options beyond that.
@K1LLEGAL True enough, my mistake. I should probably await for confirmation, but I still think that is what is going to happen. Not giving Nintendo any credit.
Given that the Switch 2 Editions are just the Switch 1 cartridge plus a download code as stated on the box, you are probably better off just buying the Switch 1 and buying the upgrade separately.
I would hope these are free upgrades or at the very least, cheap. Otherwise, nope. Not interested. I already didn't like Nintendo charging full price for Wii U ports on Switch, but you could at least argue they weren't available otherwise.
Not really much of anything new, but to be fair, I would hope the heavy hitters would be shown at the Switch 2 Direct. Regardless though I am thrilled about Rhythm Heaven.
Now I just wait for a brand new F-Zero on Switch 2.
I did not like DK's redesign in the mario movie, and I do not like this one here. I am holding out hope that is actually DK Jr. rather than DK we know today.
Digital back compatibility is probably the big win here given this is Nintendo. Still prefer physical, but nice that eshop exclusives can stay with you.

Re: Marvel Cosmic Invasion Scores 'Deluxe' Physical Release On Switch And Switch 2
Disappointing having to wait longer for physical, but compared to Key-Cards, this is a big improvement. I will get this.

Still need to play through my 3DS copy. Will get there eventually. Slowly returning to games I brought a few years ago.

@Solid_Python I knew someone was going to bring it up. I purposely left it out of my comment because I knew someone would say it to be mocking.

On paper yes, third party has been pretty good for Switch 2. Not sure I need to say anything else.
