So, according to the summary, my top 3 games for 2022 were as follows:

Stardew Valley - 72 hours
Picross S2 - 48 hours
Clubhouse Games 51 Worldwide Games - 32 hours

...Definitely was not too much on the Switch for me this year.

Bayonetta was unexpected, but otherwise, meh. Especially not thrilled with the Fire Emblem season pass. From a Nintendo-perspective, I don't really expect much of anything from TGA, even when they were doing smash character reveals.

Still not excited for this one. If anything, the DLC has practically guaranteed my non-interest for the time being. I might get omce all the DLC releases with a sale, but eh.

I don't know. In terms of presentation, definitely a step up with animations, but still not a fan of the artstyle, and the emblem mechanic still hasn't been sold to me.

@gcunit Definitely agree. I mean they added the ability to disable specific items, why not add an additional option for item behaviours?

That's quite the balance change. I wonder why they made the change now of all times.

Still been waiting for news regarding this one. Mind you, I would also like news about 10 finally coming over, even if only the chibi version.

Not too much here I am interested in. Most of these games don't see to go beyond a certain discount. Doom Eternal looks like a decent price. However, I do need to get a new MicroSD card, my 512GB is full.

Now the big question is if Nintendo remembered the 3DS/Wii U at all. Probably not, but this is the last Black Friday where these stores are open.

@johnvboy You are paying for something that was free, with no improvements to the actual online experience itself. From here, you look like a sucker to me, regardless of how tiny it is on a daily rate.

Ah yes, paying to play online. I miss when Nintendo charged the right price of "nothing at all". It is vexing that people actually buy this, but it is sadly expected at this point.

Can't wait to kill all the buffalo, but only take back 200 lbs of meat.

Can't say I have heard of the store, but it is sad that they are at a point where they even have to consider moving because of this. This is why we can't have nice things. Regardless of what they do, I hope they land on their feet.

Still waiting for the day when you don't pay twice for internet. Not interested in any of the other "benefits", the glorified rentals that they are.

I don't know if I would want to go through the effort of trying to find one definitive track. Especially since I feel my personal favourite changes so often. I might pick my best tracks from various games and see if I can pick my favourite based on those.

This is why I hope future special editions are not exclusive to the store. Glad to see the whole operation is still a s***show from when I last had any dealings with them.

Both makes sense based on what little is seen. Have no strong feelings on the name, as still no too little about the game to judge.

@SpiritGun7 The Zelda ports is pure speculation based on TOTK being delayed and the fact that Nintendo have practically ported every Wii U game, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy rumours have been floating around since at least Dec 2018. Yet every time a Nintendo Direct comes around, you always havd someone like Jeff Grubb go "yeah, it gonna be announced today guys, don't worry" and people just magically believe them. Sure, these games may exist, but it is irksome that people believe they truly have the inside scoop and are not at all sceptical. These "insiders" are broken clocks, they may tell the time right once or twice, but it is better to assume they are wrong, especially with so many examples of them being wrong.

Honestly, I am disappointed. Most of the announcements could be summed up as FARMS.

Don’t really have too much to say about the farm games beyond the fact that there is perhaps a lot more than required. The other announcements felt like maybe one or two additional details on things we already know, even with some of the bigger titles, for example, all we really got for Zelda was a name and date, and Pikmin 4 got confirmed, but nothing tangible beyond a screenshot of a big garden with assets that look like they were reused directly from Pikmin 3. With this said, Pikmin 4 was probably the best part of the Direct for me. I am interested in a new Fire Emblem, but not convinced enough yet to want it. Cool that a new Fatal Frame got announced but cannot really comment on it as never looked appealing for me.

NSO still infuriates me with being a subscription-service virtual console, rather than meaningfully improving online. I would love to play GoldenEye portably, but I am not subscribing to the expansion pass when I don’t even see the value in subscribing to the bare bones NSO. Also, quite a few announcements for updates to games where online multiplayer is the key factor makes those games uninteresting for me (personal problem I know).

The powers that be still insist on cloud games. It is almost like an Obligation of a Nintendo Direct to show at least one cloud game for the Switch. I am kind of curious if they are making enough back to justify the ports, because there must be an audience, but I don’t know. I feel like most people interested in Resident Evil for example probably already have another platform to play on.

Fist of the North Star boxing is an… interesting thought for a crossover. I honestly thought that RGG had finally started putting their games on Switch for a moment with a port of Lost Paradise, but apparently not. Then again, RGG Summit tomorrow, so Yakuza on Switch maybe? Nah, probably not, but getting off topic.

Also, surprise surprise, the rumoured Zelda ports and Metroid Prime Trilogy remaster never showed up. The fact that people still put stock in these rumours defies all logic.

Looks like that long wait for the next F-Zero/Wario Land/Wave Race continues…

@BlackMayge I've said this before, but the way I see it, BOTW is a good game, but not a good Zelda game. I am sure there are plenty of people who disagree, but that is how I feel about BOTW, and I am concerned that is how I will feel about TOTK.

Probably the saving grace of an otherwise disappointing direct for me. Heck, Miyamoto had me worried when all he showed was Bloom initially.

Bit early to judge perhaps from the trailer, but I don't have as high hopes for the story in this one compared to Three Houses, especially since they are relying on this "Emblem" mechanic. Still, something to think about.

Still not getting the stupid NSO sub. The online experience is still crap. Just put the game on the eShop and have done. I would buy it in a heart beat.

This was a rather unexpected announcement. My concern is the cost of all the DLC, but will see as time goes on. I kind of wish the Dragon Quest one they did for 3DS would get a local release.

I just want proper dungeons. Everytime I see a trailer for this game, I get more nervous that none of the problems I had with Breath of the Wild will get addressed. Sure, those problems are on me, but I know a fair few people who have similar issues.

@Drew250 Exactly as you described. It just means that it will get directly uploaded on Nintendo UK's Youtube channel rather than them streaming and this will be done at 4pm. You can however stream it at 3pm on any of the other Nintendo Youtube channels (Nintendo of America, Nintendo of Europe etc).

Would much prefer having a new Rayman game entirely. A big factor in why I hate the Rabbids is I feel like they killed Rayman off.

That year also did not have a dedicated E3, also had a partner showcase prior to September, and a treehouse stream covering a specific game etc, kind of similar to this year.

I thought improved online experience was meant to be the main perk of paying for online, Nintendo? Isn't that why Nintendo Switch Online is a thing?!

A Link to the Past was my first Zelda game, and my 3rd game altogether. Not the first Zelda game I finished however; I was 5 when I was playing A Link to the Past so I got the Master Sword, but could never beat Agahnim for whatever reason. I can kick his **** now. Ocarina of Time was the first one I finished.

I am surprised at how many people have the first Zelda as their first. Makes sense if you were old enough to be around for it, but part of me is wondering if people also played it first via VC/NSO purely on basis of it being the first. Only completed the first one myself a couple of years ago for the first time; not sure I would recommend it as a first Zelda, but worth playing through once.

Pre-BOTW, a wait of this nature until the next Zelda would have been driving mad.

Now though, I am sadly not that bothered. I know Nintendo haven't revealed everything about BOTW2 yet, but what little they they have shown doesn't give me hope they will fix the problems I had with it.

I do miss having new adventures in the interim on dedicated portables. The perils of having a hybrid system rather than dedicated consoles I suppose. I know we got Link's Awakening, but it was a remake, and given sales pale in comparison to BOTW, I have no faith in seeing a brand new 2D Zelda. If they do make one, hopefully it is not multiplayer, didn't get on with Triforce Heroes.

@Slinkoy1 I mean, annoying as it may be, does it make it any less true? This crap is bad practice and it is tiring pretending that it isn't. If you feel you are getting your money's worth, cool, but people will moan regardless... and quite right too.

No interest in Splat 3, but definitely getting these amiibos. They look great!

I can't comment as deeply on this one, but I am fairly sure many people think that Pokemon is oversaturated and has been for a while.

In all seriousness, I feel like this game fell into the ether. Also, whilst I think free updates are a nice way of reminding people the game exists, I feel like the base game should probably be able to stand up on it's own. I am not so sure this game does that.

Can't say I have heard of these, presumably as I never needed them, but good that they was a solution for those who did not have Wi-Fi. They may not be safe to use, but still a good bit of Nintendo history.

Donkey Kong Country 3, then Super Mario World, then Zelda A Link to the Past. All fantastic games.

Hopefully they are fixing their back-end, to allow for the ability to actually cancel orders without going through their chat, and actually being able to change payment details without cancelling and losing pre-order items which are out of stock.

@victordamazio Agreed. But I think this is encouraging because I feel like this is the first game in quite a while where it has been an option rather than forced.

Actually, credit where credit is due, it is nice that this is an option rather than something that is forced. Normally, games get censored for stuff like this. At least this game lets people actually pick what they want.

@Browny Kind of where I am at to be honest. I keep trying to get into it, but it never quite holds my attention beyond the first chapter. I feel like I would be buying this purely for novelty purposes.

It feels weird seeing Erik and Mia chibi-fied, but I am very ,uch looking forward to this and have been ever since they announced it. It will be good to see more of Erik and Mia interacting. I still haven't managed to get into another mainline Dragon Quest outside of XI, but I have very much enjoyed what I have played of the spin offs, mostly Dragon Quest Builders and Heroes. This looks like a fun addition.

It was fine I supppse. Some surprises in their though for different reasons. Automata is weird due to performance issues and the cloud rubbish with KH.

I feel like a lot of ports and remakes were holding this up, which is annoying. The new things were announced previously, but nice to have some dates e.g Dragon Quest Treasures. Harvestella looks interesting.
