Maybe they will try VR? Even with all these business restructuring, Sega doesn't have the strength they had in the past, so I don't know if they can shoulder a new venture like that. Maybe they can and that is where all Persona 5's money is going.
All the people up on Arms.... come on, guys, this is a demo made from a months old build. Splatoon was the same and it's final release is 1080p with solid 60fps. Odyssey will probably be the same exact thing. I like DF's analysis, but this time it would have been better that they didn't do it. They gave bait to the trolls!
@Mogster I'm curious. Most people agree that Breath of the Wild completely upset the traditional Zelda fórmula. How would more power helped that? If they changed the gameplay anymore, people would accuse that Zelda of not being Zelda. (Some already do.)
Plus, the Switch is as powerful as it can be for mobile devices. The Tegra X1 is top of the line.
Cool about the wired connection for the Pro Controller. It will help for the more competitive scene in Splatoon and Arms, due to the lag.
@Windy I honestly doubt such an update will ever come, since they put out a new Pro Controller. They want you to get the new Pro, not stick with the old one.
It's nice to see Nintendo is back and playing ball. It's surprising it managed to have more mindshare than Sony, I guess Mario Odyssey and Prime 4 did their job.
Let's hope we have some info on DQ XI Switch, since that would give US a glimmer of hope it could come west. But probably, they're going to push DQX Switch and DQXI 3DS
I don't think Sony sees Nintendo as competition.... Yet. If the Switch continúes selling like hotcakes, and getting so much attention they are going to change their tune quickly.
I'm glad Sega did this. This is what we wanted, a good old style Sonic game. This is day one for me, and it reminds me I should get some of the older Sonic games in the VC!
@NerdNoiseRadio I agree with you! I've been thinking of getting something to complement my future Switch purchase, and I've been inclining to start saving for a gaming PC. Yes, PS4/Xone have some interesting exclusives, but I could play Xbox's on a PC and I can live without playing Ps4's, while a Pc gives me access to Steam.
Plus, I can use a powerful PC for other stuff. I'm not keen on multimedia centers - I barely use Netflix - so I don't need another box in my TV stand with the extra cables involved.
Enjoy your purchases! That's the most important thing though. Cheers!
It was a solid presentation, but the third day of the Treehouse should have been focused on Nindies and the third parties games - FIFA, Skyrim, etc. - to shown that while Nintendo's first party is on point, they are also working on fixing relationship with the third parties. It was bit disappointing in that way.
Plus, the lack of announcements for VC and updates for the OS, along the lack of definitive release dates for the Fall-Winter games makes me think "Great, but not amazing". This E3 was a bit underwhelming on all fronts.
Performance is king here, so I applaud these guys' decision. Maybe they could improve in docked mode, but they haven't had much time with the hardware - we know Nintendo was stingy in handing dev kits, so 720p for know its great!
That answer mean that we won't get the localization - its the same answer we got fot the Great Ace Attorney and for Ace Attorney Investigations 2. Shame Capcom. If you don't want my money, I won't give it to you on other products. I can watch Let's Plays of AA.
@CGSasuke If that's true, Capcom is more idiotic than I ever imagined.
And with this, Konami keeps digging its grave on the videogame segment. Shame that they still have Castlevania, it didn't deserve it end due to the LoS subseries.
I'm convinced with this. I really dislike the Rabbids, but I can't deny how much quality this exudes - Ubisoft have outdone themselves. I'll give this one a try when it releases, I do hope they release a demo, though! Let's hope this does well, so Ubi continues developing more titles for Switch.
Unless we have official confirmation, I don't think we will see this on the Switch, specially with the way most of Ubi's conference was shiny graphic stuff for the PS4/Xone/PC.
Sony's excuse for this was stupid, I can't really believe someone would say its right.
They don't want to protect anyone, they simply want you to buy a PS4 if you want to play with your friends. Should they be so insecure if they're market leaders? I mean, you could hypothesize that most players that want a PS4 already have one, and his friends have one.
For the players, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. They deserve as much flak as any company gets when they are anti-consumer.
I like that approach for the masses. I'm no big fan of the "pro" gamers - most of my experiences with them have been quite bad. I want to focus on having fun, while the Smash pros harp about frames, wavedashing and all that things.
I wouldn't want Splatoon to go down the path the Smash community has gone for example. Of course, before somebody says something, its my experience. I don't doubt others have had far better experiences than me.
Between a PS4 Pro or a XOX... I'd prefer to build a computer to have alongside my Switch. Those consoles require you have a 4k TV to get all the benefits and I'm not changing my TV unless we get another big jump in tech, like it was from CRT to plasmas, or I win one in a contest. I can simply upgrade a computer according to my needs and have Steam. I can live without the exclusives, thank goodness.
I hope they give someway of retaining games we already have on the 3DS and the Wii U on the Switch. I don't mind paying an upgrade fee - I simply don't want to pay full price for some games again.
And for GC games, I do hope we see them this gen, or I'll have to hack my Wii U and start dumping my GC minidisks. I've had the itch to replay Sunshine and Rogue Leader for days!
We really need cloud saves. If someone stoles my Switch (I do hope it doesn´t happen!), we in South America have really bad luck dealing with NoA to recover our digital games and things.
I've heard of cases for the 3DS where NoA, just because people are using the NA eshop, give your user back to you but they delete your games for breaching the terms and agreements (not using a eshop not corresponding to your country).
It isn't Reggie's fault, I know - shame Japan is so stubborn. I bet Shibata, at this point, has more clout than him before the managers in NoJ.
I do hope they don't focus too much, if at all, in VR. I still can't get what's so attractive about it, but then again, I'll admit that I simply dislike the idea of aislating myself from the world while I play.
Plus, they have been more careful with the Mini NES, they never said it was a holiday only product. I managed to snag one but I would have preordered if they said it was a limited edition.
Nintendo won't ignore the 60 million install base they have on the 3DS. From a business perspective it would be a stupid move, and Nintendo IS a business first.
That said, even when I get my Switch I'll be playing my 3DS for a long time, just like my Wii U and -gasp!- my Wii, since my backlog is stupidly huge, and as somebody with a normal adult schedule, I can't sit all day at home playing.
More on topic. I liked what I say in the Treehouse, so while it won't be a day one for me since I'm not a Metroid die hard fan, I think I'll eventually get it down the road.
It was a solid presentation, easily the best for me of the big three, but it didn't really reach the part of "amazing". I'll admit, the first party lineup is solid - Odyssey looks fantastic, I'm really excited for FE Warriors, Rabbids looks far better than expected, and Takahashi doesn't dissapoint with XC2. Plus Metroid, nuff said.
But what about third parties? EA, Bethseda and Psyonix are bringing big games too, and Nintendo needs to promote them if they don't want to fail and continue the third party cycle. The responsability here is on Nintendo - they should have showed them in the spotlight, or on the Treehouse. FIFA is realeasing on September and they haven't done anything to push it on Switch players!
Plus, as others said, we missed the Nindies. Its an excellent moment to push games from those developers that have been on board, I'd would loved to hear an update (even if it was a 1 or 2 minutes video) from Playtonic about YL for Switch. A Treehouse Nindie day could have easily replaced day two or day three of Treehouse.
Finally... VC and OS updates. Couldn't they at least tease if they're coming now or next year? Leaving us in the dark is a common Nintendo strategy but one its starting to grow really annoying by now.
I haven't tried the joycons yet, but the Pro Controller is extremely comfortable! (Yes, I bought the Pro when I found it cheaper than my local retail before even having the console. Stuff happens). The version of the Pro fits my hands better than the Wii U Pro and a BIG plus for me - it doesn't look always dirty due to fingerprints!
I hope it does well, and that people that like it can continue to enjoy it, just like Splatoon. Its a pass for me, though, I dislike fighting games, specially when they are so dependent on online.
@DJKeens They'll flesh it out. Takahashi confirmed on the Treehouse that they haven't finished the polish on the game, so they'll probably put a couple extra months of polish in.

I love how it looks, Wooly World was a wonderful game for the Wii U. Its interesting to see how it is developed in Unreal Engine, maybe it has helped to speed up game development.
