I really miss Iwata... He had such a unique perspective on all the business that allowed him to create stuff like the Directs and the Iwata asks, plus he has always been portrayed as an amazing human being from these interviews.
It sounds so cool! Sadly, this one will have to wait since FE has priority, but I hope It does well enough for Nintendo and Platinum to develop this into a series, instead of being a single game like the W101.
@SterlingEyes i’ve loved it so far. I’m about 20 hours in, about to go and see what is going on with the Water Dragon so I guess I should be able to finish it this weekend.
I’m playing Okami HD, with little bursts of Mario Kart 8 DX in between. Okami is truly great, I can’t believe I had never played it up until now! I do hope I can finish it this weekend, though - Fire Emblem will become everything I play beginning next Friday. I’ll probably take a couple of months to beat considering how long it is and how little time I have to play.
I hope this makes Nintendo fix the design flaw that is causing the drift. I haven’t had issues, but I’m definitively not looking forward to the moment it starts appearing.
I hasn’t had issues with the drift (thankfully) but I hope this class actions leads to free solutions to those that have experience it and don’t have warranty since it expired, and it leads to Nintendo fixing the damn issue. It is a pretty bad look selling $80 controllers that have a very high chance of failing.
I’ve been lucky - I haven’t had issues so far, but maybe it’s due to the fact that I use the Pro Controller more. I had to fix its d-pad first though, it was terrible with the wrong inputs.
I hope Nintendo fixes the drifting issue so I can get more joycons in the future, but until then, I’m not buying any.
Sounds like a good option for me. I found my N64 a couple of months ago when I was cleaning our attic, and I don’t have enough knowledge to do one of those mods myself. I’m willing to pay for the ease of use, to be able to hook my N64 to my TV.
It looks nice, but I prefer the preorder bonus I received with Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon - it was a really nice notebook, and since I was a college student then, I put it to great use. Steel books are nice and, but they become a bit of a hassle if you ever want to trade in the game at a store.
I doubt streaming will become the future of gaming on the short term. Stadia isn’t releasing worldwide, for example, and the speed requirements for the internet means that many will have a subpar experience or will outright not be able to use it (ignoring that some ISP have data caps).
Huh, I though they would drop it in a direct, not a random tweet. Still, it makes sense for it to be announced now - Pokemon is on its way after all. It's not for me, but I'm glad those that want have the option of jumping in now.
I’ll stick with the original. The CGI Pokemon don’t look bad, but the humans look... really bad, like they didn’t really know how the wanted to model them. Ash’s eyes look pretty dead.
I’ll wait to buy the Switch version until the game is patched and runs well - or until I see a sale on Steam, to see how it runs on my notebook. It’s a pretty sad look, though, if they didn’t consider that the majority of IGA’s fan base was on Nintendo consoles due to the portable Castlevanias. The console ones didn’t light any chart on Fire.
This really isn’t a good look for game freak.... Makes you wonder what their PR department is doing, because they are certainly not doing their job well.
I played the original Friends of Mineral Town a ton back with my GBA... this is definitively a purchase for me, I hope they announce the localization soon!
I reserved the Seasons of Warfare editions, I’m really excited for this one...however, I won’t pay for the DLC. I refuse to give IS money for something that could have been in game or to reward them considering the terrible DLC we saw in Fates and Shadows of Valentía.
@WoolooSweater It’s easy to see why people are mad. They don’t want their favorite Pokémon - say, Dunsparce - to be waiting years on Home until a game that includes it in the dex comes along, while the well known Pokémon have a big chance of appearing on SwSh, or upcoming games. A solution for that would be for Game Freak to bring back the Stadium series, so people have somewhere to use the favorites instead of them waiting in home potentially for years.
@JR150 I wouldn’t have hope for an English dub for Tokyo Mirage Sessions, we all know the game bombed - and hard - and dubs aren’t cheap (specially in a game with lots of dialogue like this, plus the songs). I do think we could see a digital re-release without the modifications they made, though.
When they talk about “hardcore gamers” I can’t help but remember that meme that shows that the proposed audience for Call of Duty are teenagers and adults.... and most people that play at the end are little kids. I’ll happily skip being a hardcore gamer, thank you very much. I prefer Nintendo offerings that focus on gameplay over so many cinematic experiences.
If they had a fighting game where they had all the Pokémon, like the Stadium series, and promised the mainline games will include a rotation of previous Pokémon I don’t think there would be so much disgust from the fan base. People simply don’t want to see their previous Pokémon rot in Home.
If Capcom ever releases the collection on the Switch, I’ll get it. I’m always down for a good bunch of hack and slash, but I won’t but their overpriced port of an 18 year old game without improvements. I have Bayonetta and Astral Chains drops in August.
If he wants a “darker” universe for Pokémon all he needs to do is check the manga. Pokémon Adventures has nothing to do with the anime - it shows a far more ruthless world.
It’s so expensive.... But I dug out my N64 a few weeks ago when I was cleaning and I want to hook it up again, and most “Retro” solutions you see in the net have terrible reviews... if this one has good reviews, maybe I’ll put down the money down the road.
I wouldn’t mind if the main games took the TCG approach - meaning that no games has all 800+ Pokémon, but instead they shifted the available Pokémon from game to game to incentivize players to try out new Pokémon combinations in their teams instead of sticking to their old true and tried, while developing the continuation of the Stadium series - they could take far longer with that one, make all the balance adjustments they want and leave that title as the core battling game (obviously compatible with Pokémon Home).
I have full confidence Nintendo and Grezzo will iron out the frame rate issues for launch. Their final months of development are usually focused on that, as Mario, Yoshi and Xenoblade proved.
I’ll asume they have hard data sales for this past years and projections that justify the cost of releasing on the Wii, as dumb as it sounds. It’s impressive how that console just refuses to die - I’ve seen many casual players still have it on display (and obviously none have idea the Wii U ever existed).
The format Nintendo has (avoiding stuffy press conferences plus the awesome Treehouse) truly shines at E3, which makes me think that E3 in itself isn’t outdated, it’s the format in which companies present their info during the expo that is outdated.
No one wants to listen to corporate speak for more than hour, plus demos that may or may not work, screaming “influencers” and “celebrities” - they just want to get into the meat of the expo, the games. Treehouse let’s you do that with the games you’re interested in without being cringy.
It should be interesting material for a business study case, though. How companies can’t seem to read the trend, control costs and appeal to their customers while sticking to a “proven format” that’s actually working against them.
Funny, for all those asking for online coop.... I remember when Bayo 2 launched, people were pissed Tag Climax was only online! I think that couch coop works better for this, though - the level of coordination required seems very high.
So it isn’t exactly the model we’ve seen on but similar to that, huh? I think the base model is far nicer than the mock up but then again, size isn’t a big issue for me since whenever I take it out I go out with a backpack or purse.
I haven’t bought them, but they do look interesting. They have that classic Nintendo charm, and they do seem as a good alternative to introduce people to programming with the Labo Garage.
Other consoles get the collection in Hd and we just get the original game? I’m not supporting Capcom’s lazy cash grab. Either pony up with the whole saga or flock off - this is the same scenario as when BioWare released only Mass Effect 3 and the other consoles got the trilogy.
I’ll stick to Bayo for my hack n’ slash itch, and I’m happily looking forward to supporting Platinum with Astral Chain.
I think Nintendo can maintain this year’s level of coverage depending on the software it announces at the shown. But yeah, it will be harder since in 2020 the marketing period for Scarlett and PS5 is going to be in full swing.
These guys ruin the experience for everyone involved. It's never fun to conquer a gym, and to be knocked right out of it even when there is no one else around you!
I'm getting the game, but it's annoying and a bad practice on Activision's part - not that you can expect anything different from them. At least they fixed the subtitles issue on the other consoles so I hope this comes with subtitles right out the bat. If it doesn't, it will become a skip for me.
