The above trailer contains some bad language.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 was an exciting reveal at the close of the Ubisoft E3 Presentation, but as it's early in development the company has been resisting confirming platforms. Whether inadvertently or not, Ubisoft España seems to have confirmed PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch as platforms while sharing an article by a Spanish games site.
You can see it below, but we also screengrabbed it in case it gets deleted...
https://twitter.com/Ubisoft_Spain/status/875447639206178816
Of course, this could be an innocent mistake, it's possible Ubisoft Spain is aware of platforms early, or it's a bizarre stealth announcement.
We won't truly know until Ubisoft provides further update, but here's hoping this is accurate!

Great for the platform if true.
I'm not letting myself get excited, I'm just going to take anything other than an official announcement as false.
It better.
If this is true then it made my day
I don't believe it but I always expect bad new.
I am actually surprised the trailer was put here without any kind of profanity warning.
Ver para creer, Ubi$oft España.
If it does, I just hope it's as engaging as the first and not just open world for open world's sake.
It's really exciting if it's true but frankly, it's ubisoft, so I'm not gonna get my hopes up.
Somebody tell the interns they aren't allowed to touch anything.
It's been on the internet for over an hour, I'd say it's good but then again this is UBISoft.
That's just linking to an article that doesn't mention anything new. I wouldn't read into it.
That's most likely a mistake lol
Looks like Ubisoft Spain simply tweeted an article about BGE2 from 3DSjuegos. I don't see any mention of platforms in that article or in the video.
Unless I missed something (which is possible).
They said it was procedurally generated, but the player has a certain amount of "artisanal" control. Actually looked pretty good.
Man, Ubisoft need a plumber...
@sinalefa Fair point, I'll add one
@Sakura The top text is Ubisoft Spain's so they typed that. But yeah, obvs could be a mistake.
I doubt this, after this week.
I'd be more likely to be interested if the language wasn't so terrible
For now, it isnt coming to NS guys. What we're seeing is a brand launch, the entire concept was basically explained in that CG trailer and Ancel's time on stage afterwards.
They aren't promising a thing until they see how well their concept can run on a PC. This game is a long way off.
The original was on PS2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC, so having this one be on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC would be kind of poetic in a way.
I hope this is true.
@ThomasBW84 I really hope it's true, but the video doesn't back up the claim, so I'm inclined to believe it's a mistake. Shame.
Btw, great work with the streams the past few days. Appreciate it.
I never played the original but can appreciate respect it has. Why not bring the first one over to switch?
@TruenoGT
Suppose they just don't know yet (potentially early in development) if they can pull it off, or what hardware will enable them to fully realize their vision. They may have to opt to drop one system or the other (or move to follow-up hardware...) so the grand scale doesn't suffer. Keep in mind that the release may still be a long time off, and the game must look stunning at the time of release... Then imagine they had already announced some systems it would come to, but can't make it happen. You know how the fans react to such news. Hence the secrecy as long as such things are still under consideration and not concrete, at least by companies who know what's good for them...
Edit: Think No Man's Sky. Now we know we didn't miss much, but I remember all hell breaking loose when they said they couldn't make it work on Wii U after all...
That's most likely a mistake.
@BraveFencerZan That makes sense. The two guys in the video talked about it being a very ambitious project that does things not seen before. By the time it's ready, we'll probably be on the Switch Deluxe (or whatever).
There's also this tweet from Laura Kate https://twitter.com/LaurakBuzz/status/874375161100857346
Laura said it was coming so. She also said Stars Poke and now a random page has that. It could be a code name and people took it as that was the name of the game.
Leave it to Spanish branches to f*** things up. I wouldn't be surprised whether it's an actual leak or just terrible information handling.
[I am Spanish]
@LinkSword if you're able to speak it, can you translate the post?
Part of me is really hoping this is true, while the other part is trying not to get its hopes up too much in order to avoid disappointment.
Also...Wilhelm scream
@crackafreeze They are the leakiest company haha
They say it so it has to be true, after all the original was also released on the GameCube as well.
@25th-Baam Laura Kate Dale has been completely debunked time and time again. Why are people still posting her fake rumors?
@Nintendoforlife
Sure, but it's nothing groundbreaking.
''It has been one of E3 2017's surprises. Beyond Good & Evil 2 is back! After a long wait, Michel Ancel and Ubisoft have finally presented their new action adventure game, and here in 3DJuegos we've had the chance to talk to its creators, to learn about all the new details firsthand. Explore the galaxy, travel freely across alien worlds and let yourself be enthralled by a videogame with huge potential, yet also with plenty of work left to be done.
Who knew? After long years of waiting, of promises and broken dreams, Ubisoft has at long last presented the much anticipated Beyond Good and Evil 2, making it one of E3 2017's most relevant announcements. Only a cutscene trailer was shown, but... what a trailer that was! Sure, it felt like too little, as we hoped to see some more at this point, but it's hard not to feel excited at the prospect of exploring the far ends of this universe onboard a colossal spaceship in an action adventure that promises a much bigger and epic game than the original iteration. We're not making that up! We've had the chance to talk to Michel Ancel and his team to clarify some of our questions about this project, and we left the interview even more eager to try out this new work.
It is a prequel following the events prior to the birth of Jade, the original game's heroine. Who is the new protagonist? It's you! In this adventure you have the freedom to create your character, even choosing the alien species they belong to. Once that's decided, and onboard a small spaceship, you will set out towards the stars in search of adventures, with virtually no limits to your progress. Absolute freedom of movement. And it is no exaggeration. Anytime you want, you can descend to the many worlds that make up System 3, explore their surface and get back to your ship at your discretion. To make this dream a reality, Ubisoft have developed a new technology called Voyager, with which they've procedurally created a vast, science fiction universe with no part of it left up to random creation. Michel Ancel's team have manually gone over each planet so that they will all feel unique and special. They also promise good sidequest development, customization options, RPG-like elements and every bit of Beyond Good & Evil's essence. Eager for some more? The bad news is that, apparently, it'll take a good while before we can get our hands on the game.''
Last bit is just a summary of the key points.
@LeRaposa well I searched the page referenced in that ubisoft tweet (3D juegos) and found out that they got the info from that Laura Kate tweet so... Yeah even ubisoft españa is spreading her rumors
Ahh, Ubi, they leak more than a sunken pirate ship....
@LeRaposa every time i say that people keep insisting she's been so right so often. She's not the one that was often right. Rabbids doesn't count. Even iwata has known that rumor for months
@LinkSword Huh thanks for that
Considering how awesome this game is surely to look, it's hard for me to see it downgraded to Switch. I mean, I'd LOVE for it to but it's just hard to see it on PS4, PC, ONE... and then the underpowered Switch. I love my Switch and I hope it gets some good 3rd party games but realistically... BG&E 2 on the platform is a stretch. Will have to wait and see, I guess.
From what Ancel said the other day, the game is so far from completion it could very well be coming to Playstation 6, XBoxXero and New SwitchU.
@GrailUK that's why they begged Nintendo for Mario lol
@Whopper744
and the cleavage wasn't so gratuitous.
BG&E - Jade + pre-teen curse spamming + lonely cleavage craving = BG&E2.
I'll pass. Sadly.
Someone once said BG&E2 would be a Switch exclusive.
Actually it's gonna be a multiplatform game, but Switch version is going to be exclusive.
It's similar to Turok. It had a PC and N64 version, and an exclusive version for Gameboy Color. Of course, GBC was a little downgraded version, but still it had the same experience of Turok.
Ok, now seriously, switch will receive bge2 with the same version released for PS4 and XBOne, but it will be 720p, 30fps and some little (really little) downgrades. Saying Switch is "underpowered" sounds like it is a N64, but as we can see in Zelda BOTW, Mario Kart 8 (and now Arms, Skyrim, SM Odyssey) it is very possible to do a good job with famous games in Switch.
The evolution from the last generation was minimal. BGE2 is a kind of game that, if the developers really wanted to (or needed to) could be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 offering the same experience.
Just check Darksiders: Warmastered Edition... compare the Wii U and PS4 version. Of course, PS4 runs a lot better, but in other cases THQ would say "oh...we won't release for Wii U because it is soooo underpowered"....
@jancotianno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wwn6mJd2Ehc
Here it is.
BGE2 will come to Switch, this Darksiders comparison video proves that Switch can run games released for PS4 and Xbox One.
And offer the best portable experience, as always.
@LinkSword
Thanks for taking the time to translate.👍🏻
I have a PS4 and Switch and will definitely be getting it for Switch if it ends up being both. I will be getting any multiplat if it is for Switch, for that matter.
All the haters keep forgetting this one little nugget of info: Ancel said himself that BG& E2 is being developed for as many platforms as possible. Ubisoft wants the money and Ancel wants his game every where. Nice try though.
AAAAAAAnnnnd It's Gone.
@LeRaposa
Because she's more often right than not and has constantly updated on her information and has cut her unreliable sources and all in all is a very accurate journo when it comes to leaks and rumors.
If not microsoft throw in some money and it be exclusive to xbox1x...it would boost sale
This looks awesome.
The trailer was a lovely piece of high end CG, but if the game is aiming for that type of art style and that level of detail, I just can't see the Switch getting a version. If it does somehow come to the Switch, expect massively downgraded visuals.
I'm a bit concerned they're hiding a crappy game under colorful words and overblown females like Duke Nukem. It reminds me a bit of kids dropping the f-bomb all the time to be cool, and can be a bit nerve-wracking.
The post got D E L E T E D
Tweet's gone.
Unless we have official confirmation, I don't think we will see this on the Switch, specially with the way most of Ubi's conference was shiny graphic stuff for the PS4/Xone/PC.
