Nintendo has been upping the ante with more social media accounts over recent weeks and months, with Nintendo Versus (focused on competitive gaming) being a notable example.
A lower key example is the Super Mario UK Twitter account, set up during E3 to focus on the mascot (and particularly Super Mario Odyssey at the moment). Its latest tweet caught our eye, as it demonstrates rather nicely how the Cappy possession mechanic will be put to work in the game; there's scope for some rather clever puzzles.
It'll be interesting to see how deep the game goes as we explore fully. The Treehouse demonstrations during E3 promised much, and it's certainly shaping up to be an exciting title on Switch.

Amazing
I NEED THIS GAME!!!
This game is going to be a success straight off the bat. 4 months to go...Can't be it be 4 days?
GotY contender for sure
Mario + Cappy = Danny Phantom.
@Optimumjay Blooming eck this year is going to be a tough one. Zelda, Persona, Mario, Horizon to name a few. The gaming industry has really done us all a favor this year. 2017 is an incredible year so far
@Optimumjay Persona 5 is my GOTY (maybe even GOTDecade) but Odyssey and BotW will definitely have a fight for second place.
the way he possess things just reminds me of Bill and Ted Bogus Journey where they take over his dad and work mate
I think having two system sellers (Zelda and this) in one year is already enough reason to own a Switch. That and knowing Nintendo is trying (and so far succeeding) at releasing games throughout the year.
The dinosaur level and the city levels both look brilliant.
Better and better and better!!
Can't wait for this!
Mario is a terrible person... he hasnt controlled a Nintendo Switch yet.
Still not quite the Sonic twitter though, hehehe
@Aozz101x
Hahahaha....
LOL
Then I will realized if my Switch suddenly has a Moustache and Mario hat. XD
I'm just happy the hat doesn't have eyes all the time. That would've made me nauseous quickly.
Cool. Reminds me of blowing up walls in Zelda.
That reminds me of that one level with the big Chain Chomp in Pianta Village in Super Mario Sunshine. I always had some trouble with that one, but it sure was satisfying to finally launch that big Chomp into the pool at the end.
@GoldenGamer88 According to metacritic, Persona 5 has 22 perfect scores, where as Zelda BotW has 68 perfect scores. Persona 5 is a great game, but I'd be shocked if it won more GOTY awards over Zelda. Mario also look wonderfuls, but I think it might be hard to beat Zelda's score.
We'll see what happens, may the best game win. ^__^
Mario Odyssey looks perfect.
So yeah, this is looking more and more like Mario's "Breath of the Wild" moment.
@TsukiDeity That's why I said 'my GOTY' not the GOTY. The Persona series caters to a group of gamers who are looking for the story and character depths and are okay with (mostly) boring gameplay outside the occasional Mementos trip and Palaces (even my mom, who criticizes most non-Nintendo games I play as being stupid and too violent, called the game utterly boring). Mario and Zelda have always had a way bigger group of gamers who enjoy their games and thus, can gather more GOTY nominations .
'GOTY' (or even similar like the Oscars) nominations are a too personal thing to get butthurt over anyway as we simply have different tastes and preferences. Those nominations (and victories) are just there so they can be put on ads and rereleases to sell more units of a game or movie.
@Monkeido Though I will probably give it a pass, I would throw Splatoon 2 in there. I got my fill from the first, but I know a lot of people are looking forward to that game. Switch definitely has a strong first year lineup, in my opinion.
@TsukiDeity I agree that there is almost no chance Persona 5 would win GOTY, but I think using metacritic's # of perfect scores isn't a great argument. As @GoldenGamer88 mentioned, Persona 5 caters to a different type of gamer, whereas Zelda BoTW and the upcoming Mario Odyssee have a much broader appeal.
I can't wait for those puzzles. Resolving those little parts to get a Moon are some of the best parts for me from these 3D games!
Chain Chomps! Now if only we can lead/move them around like in Link's Awakening....
I'm still freaking out at how good this looks.
NEEEEEEED.
@Ryu_Niiyama I didn't know this at first myself, but the word I changed is considered profanity....don't ask, lol.
@Joeynator3000 Um, ok never heard of that among English speakers (as it is an informal modification of spastic) , however there has been an increase in actual profanity here that ya'll have been missing lately. I'll edit my post.
Edit: Ah. Offensive in the UK (not sure why but I'll respect that) ok, won't use it again on this site.
I usually go for most of them, others I would just leave and hope someone else gets to it. But I feel like there's very few of us who actually use the stupid dashboard. xD
@ZurapiiYohane I swear this game looks like an evolution of 64 which I find very delightful.
@GoldenGamer88 ah sorry, my mistake, I complete missed the whole 'my' part... haha
The Persona series certainly isn't niche, but it's not the biggest series outside Japan that's for sure. I, myself, have never really cared about all that goty stuff, it's all pointless to me, just like the emmys.
There's nothing wrong with great story and "boring" gameplay. 999, one of my favorite games, is certainly not very "fun" for most people, so I completely understand you.
