Well deserved! I haven’t gotten it yet, but I had it on Wii U and it is a brilliant game, it deserves to sell well and be enjoyed. I hope we get some DLC to add new tracks.
So there is hope... As I wrote in other article, I just hope that if it comes to Switch they make it an optional app to download like Hulu. Give everyone the choice of having the app if they want, since the Switch's inner storage isn't big and Netflix won't be a priority for everyone.
As amazing as it sounds, and I won't deny I would love to see it one day, I think it is for the best for it to remain unknown. Everyone deserves their little space after job to relax and unwind, and it would lose it magic touch if it was invaded by fans when it was meant to be relaxing.
I don't think the Switch will match the Wii, since the Wii itself was kind of lightning in a bottle that comes only once.
They have done things right with the Switch up to this point, I doubt they will botch things up in this second year. While the first semester seems light to some, I bet the second half has some heavy hitter planned.
As long as they don’t force to download all the apps, sure. I like the Switch as it is, since for everything else I have my iPad. I wouldn’t like the OS to grow bloated and slow from a bunch of apps I’ll never use so make it optional.
I prefer portability over power. If I wanted power I would get a PC instead of complaining about a console maker, since the console maker will never match a well optimized PC. See the Xbox One X - it still has problems with 60 frames per second, while a PC can do that and more at 4K.
Interesting how policy has changed in time - Iwata took a salary cut to avoid firing people when the company’s results weren’t as they expected. These little tidbits of history are always fun!
I doubt they might do something, it seems they are simply keeping the trademark. If it means something, it would be great though. 1080° was a great sport game, it was a shame the last game was in the Gamecube.
I agree. Never write Nintendo off, specially when they are against the wall - they haven't been around for 100 years just because.
I hope they never dissapear. They offer a product that is different from the current HD twins, with a different game offering that I love a lot. They push something different in the industry, that neither Sony and MS offer and I doubt they could offer it honestly.
I doubt they will release in 2018, it doesn't seem that either Bayo 3 and MP4 are very far in development, or they would have shown gameplay already, specially for Prime 4 since the rumors indicate that it barely got out of preproduction little time before E3.
Nope, I hate cases. I now have one that is basically a skin just to make the phone less slippery, since its basically glass. I don't like having the screen covered since I rely a lot on the notification light.
Good list, and while I personally haven't ARMS, I'd like to read the issue to read their opinion on it. Who knows, they probably found something very appealing about it to place it on that position. That ARMS didn't catch on their mainstream doesn't mean it is a bad game by any means.
It is a good piece. While I’ll keep playing, there are many excision from recent games that I don’t agree with, like the switch to a “friendly” rival and the focus on typical anime tropes like friendship and all that Jazz. The rival in R/B and G/S despised you and gave you a reason for wanting to defeat them. From Gen III onwards, the friendly rivals are just an obstacle in the path, not something you care about.
Rogue Squadron III isn’t as terrible as you make it. It had more on foot sections that were annoying, but even with that it wasn’t a bad game by any means. The flying levels were great, and we got to play in a Jedi Starfighter.
I like the idea. Zelda and Pikmin didn't come from playing gamed, but from Miyamoto's own experiences and hobbies. It brings new ideas to the table that may not happen otherwise.
Nintendo charting in the UK is truly amazing, considering it is one of their weaker markets. Odyssey is an excellent game, I'm happy to see it on the chart.
It isn't different from any kind of addiction. If you are mismanaging your life just to play games, gamble, etc. Then you need help. But playing a lot if you have free time isn't an addiction, its a hobby.
If it isn’t an AAA game it has better chances of coming to Switch.
Anyway, I wish them the best. PG makes amazing games, and it would be great that they can work on a new IP and publish them themselves, avoiding what happened to Scalebound for example.
I hope we get an announcement of the VC this year, and we finally get some GameCube games. It’s truly astounding that we still can’t replay, say, Super Mario Sunshine, in modern consoles!
If they release either Pokémon or Animal Crossing, then that is completely doable. And also it depends on the release schedule of titles, but I do feel they can reach that goal.
I’d like them to keep the freedom and map, but improve the rest, like storytelling and side quests, since those were disappointing in BotW. I’ll admit I’m in the minority that wants a bit more linearity - not a return to OoT style, but a story that leads a bit better than BotW and also gives you the freedom to just break off and explore, like XCX.
Don't give them promotion, in the first place. Piracy and cheating was rampant on the 3DS and it was truly annoying. Anyway, with this exploit being locked to version 3.0 you don't have many Switches that will be able to use it, so I hope it doesn't become widespread.
I'd love to see the end result. Seeing the real places that inspired Gen I, which is my favourite gen, would be great plus I bet there will be surprises along the way.
I never finished Yoshi's Story, but I liked it a lot. But I completely adored Yoshi's Wolly World. It is full of charm, and for me it is the best Yoshi game since Yoshi's Island.
Christmas 1999, my parents were planning a long road trip for January so they got me and my brother Gameboy Colors, in my case with a copy of Pokemon Red in Spanish. It began a lifelong hobby, and my dad kicks himself for that to this day.
I'd like them to improve on the story aspect on BotW. I'm almost at the end of the game, and I admit I've been a little burned out on just wandering around Hyrule with no story and no lore.
I would have like them to flesh out Hyrule's backstory more, add some lore in the game by text, for example, how has Hateno evolved since the Great Calamity, or stuff like that.
I'm really hyped for this one! It reminds me of the good ol' days types of RPGs. We really need more of those.
As for those complaining that X game is not on the system, just move on. Final Fantasy not being on the system doesn't mean Project Octopath will be good or bad. If you dislike Octopath, just say it doesn't seem your cup of tea and move on.
Thomas, congratulations on your new job! You have all my best wishes on your new path, but I must say, you will be greatly missed here. Your presence in the live blogs was always great, and your articles are great, and one of the things that made me register as a member here in NLife! Hope we still see you around in the future!
If it began development so long ago, I wouldn't hold my breath. They had other ideas and specs when they began designing this game, and it is understandable. Specially if it uses Unreal Engine 3, porting it to the Switch may not be worth it.
I think I’ll pass on the DLC for now. I’m a bit burned out on the game and I haven’t even finished it, and to be honest, the fighting system hasn’t fully clicked with me.
It is a brilliant game, and it had the changes the Zelda series needed, but it became so big that I need a break. Maybe after I switch to other game I’ll be in the mood to return to Hyrule!
Plus, I watched the DLC cutscenes, and as cute as they are it doesn’t feel as they add much to the game’s story.
Finally! I’ll get this and AA6 and will be able to get the Apollo trilogy. It really took Capcom a long time, and hunting down a physical copy of AJ is annoying and expensive.
Oh, the ten million announcement got the investors on their ass?
Anyway... Apart from the DMC series, personally I don’t think there is much else I want from Capcom. Ace Attorney will be there, Megaman was confirmed, and I don’t think they pass on the chance of milking MH again.
It would be nice, I haven’t played any of Square’s old catalog, even the old Final Fantasy games so it could be a nice chance to rectify that. As long as they are accordingly priced, of course.

Not even developed by Rare?
How far have they fallen, it is truly a shame that they are but a shadow of the Rareware in the N64 years.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Races Into First Place In The Nintendo Switch UK Charts

Splatoon is a monster in Japan, there is no other way to put it. When Pokemon releases, though, those will be crazy numbers.

None, really. Keep EA’s micro transaction fetish away, since that is all it’s games are about nowadays.
I so hope for they Disney takes away EA’s Star Wars license.
