During today's Nintendo Spotlight we were introduced to a handful of games that are coming in 2018, one of which is a Yoshi title for Nintendo Switch. Instead of the soft surfaces of Yoshi's Woolly World, this time around card and paper seem to be front and centre.
Nintendo has released some screens for this one, so we've dutifully reproduced them below.
Are you marking your cards to pick this up next year?

Someday I would like to see a 3D Yoshi platformer. Nintendo makes an excessive amount of 2D platformers.
Definitely getting this
my little girl seen this wanted to play. Head banging against brick wall trying to explain
Why do they always pick an art theme now? Yarn and then paper....seems like clay yoshi is next?
I love Yoshi so will certainly get this.
More games for Toad too please
I would rather the first Yoshi game made with the Unreal engine be a first person shooter but looks good. Damn good
I'm loving the look of this game. And the Kirby and Mario+Rabbids games.
ah, how adorable.
But wait, Yoshi isn't a dinosaur? Is he a dragon?
I'm so confused. (._. )
Just release an actual Yoshi that I can pet.
Looks beautiful.
I want it!
Im a happy fan.
Two new Metroids and a follow-up to Woolly World. All my wildest dreams are coming true.
Yoshi's Wooly World was a prime, top-shelf platformer. They always just nail the mechanics perfectly. The game felt like a million bucks in the palm of your hand.
This looks every bit as good as Wooly World. Better even. Good choice cause we have zero 2D platformers from Nintendo on Switch. Would have preferred Donkey Kong Country but hey, we got Metroid Prime 4 so....
Kirby and Yoshi both look gorgeous....Switch is going to be my "pretty console".
Is this confirmed as a Good Feel game then?
@WaveBoy
I think it's the quality of the games. Same reason I thought Sony had a better presentation than MS, despite MS's long list of games.
With Nintendo, there was Metroid Prime 4 which was earth shattering. The single most requested game among fans for the better part of 10 years. The Half Life 3 of Nintendo. Then there was Mario Odyssey which is just top shelf through and through. And Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which, my goodness, that game is gonna be up there with MP4. It's absolutely stunning. Xenoblade is regarded as one of the best RPGs, and this looks to wipe the floor with the original. Then there was the announcement that a core, mainline Pokémon is coming to Switch... the only possible announcement that could even begin to rival MP4. So 2 of the biggest announcements Nintendo could have made... were made at this e3.
Toss in a few games like these- Yoshi and Kirby which both look quality... not intense hype but quality, the new Mario Kingdom Battle, the Fire Emblem Warriors (which looks legit, definitely did fans right with this one) and you end up with a pretty strong showing. This makes no mention of 2D Metroid coming to 3DS, or Mario & Luigi. Or Skyrim shown with Zelda content and motion integration. Oh and Rocket League isn't exactly new, but it was needed. So that was hype for sure seeing we can now play the game anywhere.
I'd put it about on par with Sony's conference.
Looks so fun
Remember when Nintendo said they "mastered the Unreal Engine..." Seems they weren't exaggerating! This game is gorgeous.
This E3 has been stunning. Like, if you had posted all of this stuff a week ago, I would have said "simmer down fanboy."
I wonder what the actual title will be? Looks kind of like Super Paper Mario so that's cool.
@JaxonH - Couldn't have explained Nintendo's E3 presentation better myself! ^^
@ottospooky how about yoshi safari 2?

Not feeling this one.
Did anyone notice the analog aiming in the video clip???
Happy about this, but Yoshi looks weird to me in standing stance... too upright.
Looks like Yoshi in Little Big Planet. One day Nintendo and Sony will come together and make a game together.
@JaxonH I personally thought Sony's conference was meh, but only because I only cared for 2 games at that show (Spiderman and SotC remake). Nintendo in my mind won E3. Every game they showed in their 25 MIN presentation was just amazing and I want to play them all (except maybe Kirby and Yoshi, I will see).
@drewber2635
Way I see it, there's only one winner at e3... and that's us, the gamers
Looks really pretty. Let's hope they build on Wooly World, that game was brilliant!
@WaveBoy You can't go around making predictions or you set yourself up to be disappointed. "I want Nintendo to show off a new Animal Crossing, talk about Virtual Console and third parties, and port Smash to the Switch." Then if they don't do that you say they sucked, and if they do do that, you say they were predictable and thus sucked. So you can't go into these things with any expectations. Then you will have a good E3 and see it for what it really was, which was probably a B+ presentation.
@WaveBoy
Uh, that's not true at all. Nintendo has an immaculate lineup for the rest of the year.
Maybe you'd be screwed, but I don't think anyone else is. I own every platform but I doubt I'll be touching any of them until Monster Hunter comes out. We've got one major exclusive game releasing every single month for the rest of the year. Not to mention Metroid on 3DS.
@JaxonH I would say it was better than Sony's simply because they were able to pull it off without any footage of big 2018 titles. That way they can save footage of Fire Emblem, Metroid, Pokémon and other big 2018 titles like perhaps Mario Maker 2 and Retro's new IP for later.
Wait, Yoshi isn't a dinosaur now? I thought Super Mario World was set in Dinosaur Land?
@Fuz Yeah that's a good point actually, I showed the Japanese version of Super Mario World to a friend of mine who speaks Japanese recently and he said the message box in Yoshi's house refers to "Super Dragon Yoshi", so the dinosaur stuff was probably invented by the translation team.
It always bugged me they did a dinosaur track in Mario Kart DD and didn't theme it after Dinosaur Land, but then if the Japanese development teams don't think of some of the characters in Mario World as dinosaurs then that would explain that too!
Very very impressed by this game.
