During the Nintendo Spotlight broadcast today it was confirmed that a new Kirby game is coming to Switch in 2018. It'll feature co-op, some new transformations and the usual colourful charm.
Nintendo has released a whole lot of screens for this new title, so take a look at them below.
Are you excited about Kirby coming to Nintendo Switch?

Looks like Kirby. I like Kirby.
Can't wait! Looking forward to seeing the new abilities in due course. Loving the return of partners a la Super Star.
It caught me by surprise how interested I was in this.
Nice. 2D side scroller. Just what Nintendo consoles need.
Since no one else has done it yet: <3
Definitely on my radar though, much like most of everything Nintendo has shown so far.
I HOPE. There's some bit of challenge to this though.
Those screens look gorgeous.
Please be like Triple Deluxe but three times as long
I am so glad to see the helper system returning from Super Star. That alone makes me want to buy this game
I predict an early Spring release
Kirby games must be dirt cheap for Nintendo to knock out by now. The amount produced suggests so. Hope they mix this up a bit. Always love the visuals though.
Loving the eccentric environment art.
(>'-' )> <( '-' )> <( '-'<) (>'-'<) - KIRBY!
My children are "super excited" for this game. Can't wait to play it with them.
Looks great. Glad to see Nintendo have platformers covered. Very happy.
It's like they mixed crystal shards with super star! I loved mixing abilities in Crystal Shards! they even kept some of the combinations, like stone and ice!
Always the same these games, Ninty are no different than EA, UBISOFT, ACTIVISION, all of them including Ninty just keep releasing the same games over and over, give it a rest already
Looks pretty. Nice to see a Nintendo platformer for switch. Hard to be excited as such though.
The good thing about new Switch games is that we don't have to worry about forced touchscreen controls anymore! Rainbow Paintbrush I'm looking at you.
@gcunit I'm think you're right, especially since a lot of these models and assets look like HD versions of what is already in Return to Dreamland. The similar appearance between the two games isn't entirely unwelcome though. I quite like everything I see.
Kirby game that's not a puzzler or made of some strange substance? Sold!
Im getting everything!!!!
Wow guys, so many games Nintendo showed off today look really fun. They put me over the moon this E3.
Meh, I don't see anything truly exciting about this game yet. It just looks like a regular Kirby game right now.
@gatorboi352
It is what Switch needs, actually. Considering Nintendo hasn't put a single 2D platformer on the system yet.
No way people can watch entire conferences of realistic third person shooters- 20 games all the same kind, yet complain about a 2D platformer from Nintendo when they have put literally zero of them on the system to date.
Lots of platformer fans in the world. Definitely need a few on Switch. Especially when nobody else makes them aside from 8-bit indie companies. People get tired of that. I want a quality, full retail experience platformer...
The strength of Nintendo this E3 borders on unprecedented.
Man, the Kirby games certainly always look gorgeous.
I love Kirby games - please don't listen to the haters who are just salty that they're not getting a shooter.
I'm not totally convinced about the obvious focus around drop-in drop-out co-op - I was hoping for a multiplayer Kirby component to have a little more weight to it. But the combining of powers is really interesting! I suppose, thinking about it now, it probably wouldn't work as well without it being drop-in, drop-out co-op.
Sigh. If people don't want 2d platformers, why don't they check the other consoles? Some of us actually DO like them!
@NintySnesMan
really? REALLY? I mean, they release tons of different games, like kirby rainbow curse, ARMS, federation force, breathe of the frickin wild.
If they keep making kirby games, obviously means a lot of people like more of the same kind of game with new content! And it's been 2 consoles since the last kirby console game! A whole six years! seriously, where do you get off with such a claim? there's valid criticism.... then there's this!
@gcunit As a longtime follower of the series I totally agree. I could see them trying to make this one a capstone of sorts (combining a bunch of things together that fans always wanted including the cancelled GCN game) before moving on to something totally new.
Well, guess I'll possibly buy a Switch in 2018...other than that, still nothing on the console that interests me besides the upcoming Mario Odyssey.
I like 2D side scrollers as much as the next man (and can't resist a bit of Kirby) but you have to admit you can't move for them on Nintendo consoles. Especially on Wii U when, toward the end, there was bugger all else on the console (I might have to do a pie chart or something to back this up). I'm not just talking platformers, but side scrolling "adventures" like Trine and bloody "Metroidvania" games. What Nintendo consoles "need" (to continue from @gaterboi352) I think is some diversity. Some sports games. Some driving games.
Me and my son are looking forward to this! Just being able to CO-OP the entire game with my son is already worth it in gold!
@gatorboi352
Salty, you should complain about the lack of a freaking 2D Mario within, what is looking like, the first 12 months of the console. (!!!)
@Milton_Burle To be fair, the Switch has NBA 2K18, FIFA 18 and Rocket League coming later on in the year and already has Fast RMX and Mario Kart 8 DX. I'd love NFL and NHL games, plus Dirt 4 and a NFS style game, but it isn't completely devoid of sports and racing games.
@BionicDodo You're right it's looking a little more encouraging than Wii U. I was thinking its tough being both a sports fan and a Nintendo fan. First world problems right?
My level of excitement for this cannot adequately be expressed. Will definitely be buying this
@JaxonH I get maybe 1... but 2?! And one of the 2 being a Yoshi game?
On one hand I get it, Switch is selling to everyone that passed on Wii U as well. For me personally, it's the New 2DS XL in July. I'll pick up Prime 4 whenever that comes out and borrow my brother's Switch.
