I didn't hear good things about Starfield, and watching streamers play convinced me that I wouldn't like it. This is from somebody who LOVED Morrowind, Skyrim, Fallout 3...and I also loved Cyberpunk 2077 and I actually prefer sci-fi games.
Also, this video that compares bars in Starfield to Cyberpunk 2077 also convinced me...the comments are also pretty funny:
@Pirate1 Was there really anything in the Anniversary edition worth the money?
I have the original version on my PC, with a bunch of mods, and that is still how I prefer to play. The "Creation Club" or whatever they called it, was their attempt to monetize and make money off of the modders, and I think the game actually suffered for it.
For me, the future is clear: I'll only buy Nintendo first party games on my Switch 2, every other game I will buy on Steam or GOG, where I can access it on any of my computers, for decades to come, beyond the life of my current computers.
Why are the leading "The" 's not ignored in the list? I would expect to find The Cosmic Sisterhood up by the C's, and The Witcher by the W's, but instead they are all clustered together with the "The" 's.
I have. UFO50 on Steam, that is a great concept & game! It's like all the games from your childhood in the '80's and '90's, but, even better now with higher standards and better controller layouts.
Such an amazing game! And nobody has mentioned how delightful the music is, so I'll do that now! Definitely one of my favorite games, even if I haven't finished it!
lol, Beamdog wasn't exactly a great bunch of people. Now people complain about Aspyr.
Let's face it, all these companies are large corporations, and just trying to make as much money as possible, quality being seen as an extra cost.
I only play NWN2 because somebody made an amazing mod of Baldur's Gate 1 for it...look for Baldur's Gate Reloaded on Nexus Mods (and get it soon, since they just sold out as well).
THIS....changing the inverted X-axis was the reason I started using emulators. Boy, not only did this help be finally beat Windwaker, it was also a life-saver for playing Super Mario Sunshine (still working on beating that).
@fenlix I believe the appeal of Yakuza 0 on Switch 2 is that you have one of the best games of the decade available on a **portable device** and it looks just as good (maybe even better?) than it did on a PS4.
And yeah...set the voices to Japanese and forget there ever was an English dub. You can thank me later.
wait, Hitoshi Ozawa still has his pinky! Immersion RUINED! lol
This add was a hoot. I don't understand a word, but, I appreciate the gusto the actors brought to this, and to the games. I can't wait to play this AGAIN!
Honestly, Yakuza 0 isn't perfect by any means, but my god, it is such a great game! And when the plot gets a little tedious, I'll just go to the batting cage, race slot cars, or do any of a number of the mini games. Pure genius!
Here's the preview I'm waiting for them to re-release (lol):
@Erigen lol, I tried playing Yakuza with the English voices and... I just couldn't take it. It is much better with the Japanese voice acting (definitely need the English subtitles!).
P.S. I also should have mentioned, for anybody wanting to try Yakuza, but don't know where to start --> Yakuza 0 would most likely be the best game to play first!
I loved that game, but I recently tried playing it again, and it was really hard to get back in to. Let's just say that games (and game design) have come a long, long way over the last 30 years.
@IceClimbersMain Heck, most of these games are $2.49 right now on GOG, and you completely own the game, DRM-free, and can install it on any computer you own!
I dug up my old Fantasy Life for 3DS and I've been playing it on an emulator. Looks great on a big screen TV! I adore that game, but I'll probably wait to see how it runs on the Switch 2, and then decide between that and Steam.
"I don't think they ever really liked DK 64 that much. That's a rumour we got back through the cycle of whispers from Nintendo when we were at Rare. I don't know if that's true or not."
Well, they also didn't like Devil's Third, so you all are in good company.

Re: Opinion: Rayman 2 Is An Overlooked Platforming Classic About A Rebel With A Cause
I loved the N64 game! And then I played it at 60fps on the Dreamcast, and never looked back...I still play it on emulators!
The 3DS version is also very sweet!
Re: Higround Launches Sonic & Dreamcast Keyboards, And They're Stunning
I think I paid $99 for my Dreamcast back in ?1998? (Runs up to closet and checks box & to pet the DC) ... Definitely not more than $149...
To pay $300 for a what is likely a crap keyboard seems a bit pricey, to say the least!

@Hwatt I played Skyrim on an Asus G73!
And yeah, it ran a lot better, AND ran mods!

CostCo has Kirby Air Riders and opened pre-orders for Metriod 4, both for ~$64 USD.
Re: 15 Years In The Making, Caves Of Qud Is Finally Coming To Nintendo Switch
YES! Another game I can get on itch.io!
And there is a Mac (& Linux) version there, too!
I just tried it on Linux (Ubuntu), it runs great!
Re: Review: Glory Hunters (Game Boy) - A Glorious 8-Bit Throwback With Some Rough Edges
Shout out to whoever mentioned the itch.io page! I bought it there, along with all the digital extras! $7, what a steal!

remake LttP? What a great idea!
They could call it something, like, idk, "A Link Between Worlds?"

Costco will likely have this at a good discount. I'll just wait and see.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch 2 Third-Party TV Docks
I wouldn't trust any 3rd party dock, it seems that all Nintendo has to do to brick them is to do a firmware update.
Re: Random: Oh Jeez, Now Palworld Has Its Own Rip-Off On The Switch eShop
Well, points out a good reason why Nintendo has to sue to keep its IP out of the hands of slop creators.

Re: iFixit Performs A Full Teardown Of Nintendo's "P**s-Poor" Pro Controller
Price alone is keeping me from buying this controller.
Well, that, and the fact I already have a but-load of controllers. Plus, I always kinda liked just using the joycons in a holder.
Re: Random: Final Fantasy 14 Director Thinks "Aspiring" Game Devs Should Play Echoes Of Wisdom
@dskatter Exactly, I was going to point to the Yakuza series as the games to look at when it comes to re-using assets.
From a studio's point of view, this makes game development easier & cheaper.
From a fan's point of view, as long as the game is fun, who really cares?

Re: Switch 2's HDR Looking Washed Out On Your TV? Here's The Fix
@solarwolf07 If you had told me 20 years ago that I'd have to wait a minute after turning on the TV for it to boot up....sheesh....
Of course, nowadays most of the TV's computing power is being spent tracking your usage...double sheesh & a face-palm.
Re: Switch 2's HDR Looking Washed Out On Your TV? Here's The Fix
@CriticalHit I'm curious, which Hisense do you have? I've been looking at the U8, wasn't sure if I should pull the trigger.
Re: Switch 2's HDR Looking Washed Out On Your TV? Here's The Fix
Remember the old days, when you just plugged the console into the TV, and started gaming?
Re: 'Misc. A Tiny Tale' Looks Super Smooth On Switch 2, Thanks To A Dev Hunch
Yay! I'm really looking forward to this game. But, I'm still getting it on Steam.
