I really wanted to like it...I tried it during a mild sinus infection, and instantly got naseous...so badly, in fact, I've been too afraid to try it again since. I should try it again, when my perpetual sinus problems remit a bit.
@Nourldean ikr? Remember the time Sony installed DRM that was a virus? And what about the time the Sony marketing-suits spray-painted graffiti in the city as part of their ad campaign? I could go on...
That's interesting, in that I thought the launch games with the Gamecube were much much better than the Xbox. I bought Luigi's Mansion and Rogue Leader and was pretty happy for months.
Reminds me of the old Bungie game "Myth" if anybody else can remember back that far...of course, no magic or other races (the dwarves were a blast...get it? ha ha).
@ummyeahnintendo I had never beaten it on the Gameboy either...I started playing in February, then in April found out it was going to be released again, so I tried to "hurry up" and finally beat it on 9/19, the day before the Switch release. Needless to say, I beat the Switch version quite a bit faster, ha ha.
@Aquamine-Amarine The reason you don't make crap up with hurricane predictions is because you don't want to "cry wolf" --> you don't want to needlessly warn people to evacuate when there is no danger, or else people will get "fatigued" and not evacuate later when there really is danger.
Fascinating person...his obituary was worth a read, this bit was very interesting: "...he was most proud of his time working at the Department of Justice as the special assistant to the head of the Civil Rights Division, John Doar, during the height of the civil rights movement in the 1960s. At the Department of Justice, where he first worked as a summer intern, he gathered voting records throughout the South that demonstrated evidence of wide-spread discrimination against African-Americans. His discovery of methods such as literacy tests specifically designed to exclude African-Americans from voting helped form the basis of the Voting Rights Act of 1965."
PSA — if you are following a guide (like this) instead of exploring and figuring things out on your own, then you are losing out on an incredible experience.
Also, if you use a guide to race through the game, and then complain about "how it is so short, it isn't worth xx" then shame on you!
I lol'ed when I read that Luigi's Mansion's short length (back then viewed as a negative) would today be viewed as a positive! Amazing how times change...
This is what happens when a huge & sucky corporation takes over and becomes a monopoly. It is a lot like book stores & Amazon.
Remember the old game stores? Remember the old mom & pop stores? Maybe some will come back, kind of like some book stores are coming back, post-Amazon.
If you have a PC, you should really play the BGR mod for NWN2 --> "Baldur's Gate Reloaded" a fan mod of Baldur's Gate made for the NWN2 game engine, so 3D Baldur's Gate!
Correction --> The Circle Pad Pro will **NOT** work on just any games, it is only supported by about 20 or so games (I got it specifically to play with my old 3DS and Kid Icarus and Metal Gear Solid).
I am so looking forward to this! The Switch version looks better than the game I played on my PC, with a wimpy (but decent in the day) GTX 660. I never was a big fan of the keyboard controls, I'm hoping the Switch controls are better!

Re: Feature: The Minds Behind Animal Crossing: New Horizons
@tgchan yeah, the game is hard to describe, isn't it? But it thoroughly sucks you in, sooner or later, and then you are hooked.
Maybe it isn't a game, as much as it is an "experience"?

Re: Random: The Real Reason N64 Lost To PlayStation? Depressing Games And Lonely Players, Apparently
@Damo True! Just don't get rid of them, those magazines are fairly important chronicles of the way video games used to be.
Re: Random: The Real Reason N64 Lost To PlayStation? Depressing Games And Lonely Players, Apparently
@Damo Great work! I need to set up an alert with ebay then...
Any plans to scan them? It seems there is a definite lack of GF and GR on archive.org ...

@Damo You have old Gamer's Repbulic magazines? I've been looking for some back issues...what issues do you have? I miss that magazine!

Re: Patent Filed For New Nintendo Switch VR Headset
@YessMasster Agreed! The Switch resolution is too low, and the frame rates are also too low, unfortunately, for me to consider this new device.
