US law is pretty clear --> you have to protect your IP or risk losing it. What Nintendo is doing is just what they have to do in the current business/law climate.
Great game, excellent price point, and very imaginative use of BotW-like mechanics...so imaginative, you can't really say they "stole" or copied, it is similar but fits in well with the game.
If you want to "beat" the game, you could "finish" it in about 30-45 minutes. But the real joy is going around, exploring, and meeting the characters...I spent about 5+ hours, and loved every minute of it! I keep meaning to go back, and try to get more of the hidden items. Next holiday, maybe.
So, last year they were hiring product testers, and this year they are hiring a story board artist? Sounds like they are building the game in reverse, LOL
@BionicDodo Looking at Metacritic reviews can be very informative. I usually look at the average of the critics and the average of the users, and see if there is a discrepancy...if there is a difference, it can be very telling as to why, i.e., it appeals to a certain kind of player.
I get that PS4 console sales are so low because the PS5 is coming...but when did the XBox start selling so many consoles in Japan? Is it because people are bored while waiting for the PS5 to come out?
Well, Gods & Monsters was a movie title from the late 1990's, so glad Ubisoft got off their lazy asses and spent a little energy coming up with a new title.
Although "Fenyx" sounds like one of those idiotic car names that is a mispelling or combo of something else...looking forward to the sequel "Prius : Nova of the Mind's Opel Eye" kappa
@komodo182 Every morning, I get up and wonder, "What unbelievable thing is going on today?" That article pretty much shows how far down we've gone...glad that dude won.
@Tyranexx if you are a recent adopter, then obviously all the Mario games and Zelda games are your first stop & best bets...after that you still have a lot of other top rated games to go through. I happened to pick this up just because I really don't play any FPS games at all, and wanted to try one...heard this was one of the best, so, gave it a whirl...it will tide me over until my copy of the 3D Mario remakes arrives in (gasp) 1 week!
@Tyranexx Bioshock is better than most FPS shooters, but it definitely is NOT close to a Metroid game. There is a bit of a story, and they have hacking "puzzles" but I find the game to be about a 7/10, at most...if you have nothing else to play, and can get it at a good discount, then go for it. USD 40 is expensive, I got the physical copy on Amazon for USD 31, and I plan on selling it back to get my money back when I am done. Having said that, it is probably better than a lot of the other FPS shooters, ymmv
I got Bioshock on a cart cheaper on Amazon...not much of a "sale" when it is more expensize digitally, AND it is tied to your console AND you cannot sell it back...
I really wanted to like it...I tried it during a mild sinus infection, and instantly got naseous...so badly, in fact, I've been too afraid to try it again since. I should try it again, when my perpetual sinus problems remit a bit.
@Nourldean ikr? Remember the time Sony installed DRM that was a virus? And what about the time the Sony marketing-suits spray-painted graffiti in the city as part of their ad campaign? I could go on...
That's interesting, in that I thought the launch games with the Gamecube were much much better than the Xbox. I bought Luigi's Mansion and Rogue Leader and was pretty happy for months.
Reminds me of the old Bungie game "Myth" if anybody else can remember back that far...of course, no magic or other races (the dwarves were a blast...get it? ha ha).
@ummyeahnintendo I had never beaten it on the Gameboy either...I started playing in February, then in April found out it was going to be released again, so I tried to "hurry up" and finally beat it on 9/19, the day before the Switch release. Needless to say, I beat the Switch version quite a bit faster, ha ha.
@Aquamine-Amarine The reason you don't make crap up with hurricane predictions is because you don't want to "cry wolf" --> you don't want to needlessly warn people to evacuate when there is no danger, or else people will get "fatigued" and not evacuate later when there really is danger.
Fascinating person...his obituary was worth a read, this bit was very interesting: "...he was most proud of his time working at the Department of Justice as the special assistant to the head of the Civil Rights Division, John Doar, during the height of the civil rights movement in the 1960s. At the Department of Justice, where he first worked as a summer intern, he gathered voting records throughout the South that demonstrated evidence of wide-spread discrimination against African-Americans. His discovery of methods such as literacy tests specifically designed to exclude African-Americans from voting helped form the basis of the Voting Rights Act of 1965."
PSA — if you are following a guide (like this) instead of exploring and figuring things out on your own, then you are losing out on an incredible experience.
Also, if you use a guide to race through the game, and then complain about "how it is so short, it isn't worth xx" then shame on you!
