This is definitely going to be interesting...how far can Nintendo use BotW as a vehicle to sell something that is a very different game?
Pretty much all the two games have in common is a) the name "Zelda" and ... that's about it. Obviously there is a whole lot more gameplay than in other games, but if you liked the open world of BotW, I'm not sure what your reaction to the very linear format (and relatively empty spaces) of Skyward Sword will be.
And for the record, the first "paraglider" was the Deku Leaf in Wind Waker! Ahem...
@RupeeClock To be fair, the Axis powers of WWII were defeated by a world-wide cabal bent on global domination and erasing their beliefs from history (sarcasm if that isn't obvious)
I had just recently set up the Dolphin emulator, just to try to play this with better graphics than a regular Wii...I may wait to see how this looks before I go any further.
Their announcing the Skyward Sword re-master makes me think BotW2 is nowhere near being finished. Kind of like how the WiiU got the Wind Waker & Twilight Princess remasters, to tide us over until BotW was (finally) released.
One of my fave's not mentioned was the Neo-Geo Pocket Cup Soccer/Football game. It was a blast to play 6 minute matches when i needed a break and wanted to blow off some steam. Otherwise, yeah, I loved Biomotor Unitron, Dark Arms, and Faselei.
I even bought the Japanese version of Tactics Ogre, but never played much because there was too much Japanese to read, lol.
From the article: "Hopefully, sites like eBay will start to crack down on sellers that are getting these replicas out into the public. "
There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that eBay will ever crack down on sellers like this. Number 1 reason, eBay makes money off each sale, legit or not, and they don't have a real incentive to crack down.
If forced to (i.e., get a legal demand), they will take down a seller, but guess what, the seller will just register under a different identity.
@Question-Guru Yes, I remember...it was when they were happy to just make a profit.
Now in this post-merger age of mega-gaming companies, they aren't satisfied with "just making a profit" they have to make a ridiculous profit to justify their CEO salaries and shareholder "value".
@Yanina yeah, I'm looking at a play through...the combat looks somewhat bland so far, but I'm intrigued by the potential. If it is cheap, I will consider it...more so if there is some online multiplayer.
@WoomyNNYes was going to comment, Lego City Undercover is a great game, that kids and adults could enjoy. It is a steal at that price. I played it twice on the WiiU, don't feel the need to double dip.
@vanYth @masterLEON Wow, glad to hear others enjoyed it...I actually got the full copy of Terminus from a UK dealer, sent to me in the US! I keep a copy running on a Win7 machine, and on my current Mac using CrossOver...sadly, the Windows version is easier to use now than the Mac version.
If you ever fire it up again, I could potentially use my Win7 machine as a server! lol
@Ganner dude, I 100% agree with everything you said. I was so looking forward to Aliens on my Wii U, then that dude absolutely ruined it and pretty much destroyed the entire Aliens franchise.
Vicarious Visions made one of my favorite computer games (that nobody has ever heard of): Terminus (it's a space sim).
This constant merger-ing into mega-corps means that (like EA) nobody will be interested in making a game unless they get "at least (this) amount of profit" and annual revenues from micro-transactions. As @Tourtus said, we will see less creative variety...
@Brumblescope I bought a modded GBA. Honestly, by the time you price the replacement screen & other things (like a new shell, buttons, etc.) you can usually find modded GBA's that are not that much more than the cost of those items, plus the base price for the GBA.
As @brunojenso mentioned, the LCD IPS screens for the GBA are far superior than the original DSLite screens, and so are better than a Gameboy Macro.Be aware that soldering the connections so that you can adjust the brightness might be tricky if you don't have experience. The PSP and emulation of a GBA could also be a good and less expensive option. Honestly, I always really liked the GBA ergonomics, but the PSP isn't bad and also lets you emulate other game systems as well.
Be aware that with Flash carts, the EZ-FLASH Omega sucks the life out of batteries. The Krikzz flash cart is a bit more expensive, but a lot easier on batteries.
One of my biggest regrets was missing the multiplayer for this game before Nintendo shut down the servers. I'm another unironic fan of this game, it wasn't perfect, but man it had a lot of cool ideas and gameplay packed into it.
@Yanina if you are interested in trying to "stream a PC" Shadow.tech is a much (MUCH!) better option than either Stadia or Nvidia's offering.
It may cost a little bit more, but you get your own Windows virtual machine that you can install and play games on. I have been using it for about 2 years, it works quite well.
I am sure Nintendo is not easy to work with...and I'm sure people throwing tantrums will not make Nintendo more likely to work with them, with some of the most valuable IP in the world.
@wsli said "I did a little Google’ing as I was never aware about a rhyme like this. But I think it’s always smart todo a little research and take the time to educate yourself before you speak."
Dude, if people educated themselves before speaking, 95% of the internet would just disappear!
Very happy to see Shadowrun on this list, although I do think it deserves to be a bit higher. A superb story, with great game mechanics and awesome music! Much better than the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version of the game that came out a little later.

@Zidentia That was EA's first big attempt to churn out trash games and take a percentage of all the profits. Thankfully, it didn't really go far.
