13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Didn't have much time to play it for the past week or so but I'm now back to it. I'm about halfway through it. The story is interesting but I don't really want to go in detail. Just play the game yourself.

As for the strategy portion, I have it on harder difficulty and got S ranks and all extra tasks on first try for the first set of stages after the tutorial missions, except for one early mission where I was still getting used to the gameplay and got B, but the second set of stages ramped up the difficulty and now I'm getting mostly B ranks. A welcome change.

F-Zero 99
Had a quick go at 3 of the new stages yesterday. Trying out the new Grand Prix today. Maybe I'll finally get first place in something other than Team Battle.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
I want to play this later with my family but for now, I decided to play it alone on a whim. Started earlier today, I'm at 6/8 mirror shards now. Might finish it later today. The game's pretty short when you know what you're doing. This is probably my 5th or 6th playthrough. It's a lovely game.

Re: Check Out The First Pokémon X Hatsune Miku Crossover Song, 'Volt Tackle'

Late

I like Pokémon, I like Miku, I like DECO, I also liked this song. Nothing mindblowing but a good mix of all the above. Looking forward to other songs from different producers.

It's a bit weird they had Miku artwork for all 18 types but they are completely separate from the upcoming music videos. At least if this first song is anything to go by.

Re: Poll: Have You Come First In F-Zero 99 Yet?

Late

I've been 2nd or 3rd couple of times but not first. I had one race where I was first for 2nd and 3rd lap but you only need one mistake and it all goes downhill from there. Being first also means you won't get sparks or KOs so someone else has a good chance of catching up even if you don't make any mistakes. At the same time, I really like how the game is balanced. Skill gives you better chances of winning but luck also plays factor so more people have chance of winning even when there are great players mixed in.

Re: Another Code: Recollection Remakes Two Cult Classics On Switch in January 2024

This was a nice surprise. I've beaten the first game but only played the first hour or two of the second game so I can see myself potentially buying this. Great visual upgrade. I hope they re-release Hotel Dusk games in some form too.

@NorthwestEagle While Cing developed Another Code, I believe the IP itself is actually owned by Nintendo. At least that's the image I've gotten over the years. The series has had some representation in Smash as trophies/spirits.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Started this yesterday. I was already considering it at launch but current sale was too good to pass up. So far so good. If the name is anything to go by, I've been introduced to first half of the cast.

Mega Man 10
Recently beat 9 for the first time and I guess that wasn't enough for me. Defeated the 8 robot masters. Time for Wily stages. I don't think I'll have much trouble with the end game.

@Vyacheslav333 Not in that sense. I meant in context of these articles. It would be kind of redundant to mention that I'm playing KoF every time I comment on one of these articles. Of course there's nothing wrong about playing fighting games.

I have both Switch and Steam version of the game. I originally got it for Switch but I rebought it on Steam once my friend got interested in it. I had to lower the settings quite a bit to even be able to play it on my laptop.

The Switch version is nice though it has long load times. I primarily use my Switch as a handheld and only turn on the TV whenever I have friends over. I haven't played the Switch version in a while but from what I remember, it looked fine on handheld. Perfectly playable by my standards.

Civilization VI
The new update, despite being unable to redeem it for free yet even though I should be able to, made me boot the game up again. I tend to always start a random map with random leader but this time I decided to try one of the premade scenarios while I wait for them to fix the leader pass.

I started the map where you play as Alexander yesterday and finished it couple of hours ago. Combat has always been my weakest point so I never go for the domination victory condition. This was a nice change of pace and I feel more confident in my combat abilities now. Though it remains to be seen how well they translate since you don't need to pay attention to anything else in the scenario and don't suffer the penalties.

OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood
Still quite rusty compared to how I fared at the end of the first game back when I played it. Aiming for perfect combos is as fun as ever.

Samurai Shodown (2019)
I don't mention it too often but I tend to play fighting games with my friend on the weekends. Taking a break from KoF15 and playing SamSho this weekend instead.

I finished Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade earlier today (really enjoyed it) so now it's just whatever I'm in the mood of.

I downloaded the multiplayer game trial games and played the first 8 stages of Puyo Puyo Tetris 2. Haven't tried Don't Starve or Golf With Your Friends yet. I've seen quite a few videos of the latter. The game has caused some frustration in the group I've been watching so I want to see how the game actually plays.

I also played Mega Man 9 today. Found out it has its own version of Yellow Devil. I'll finish it tomorrow.

Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
I believe I'm in chapter 21. Nearing the end. I liked the change of scenery with the snow maps. Lost Clarine to a critical hit today. She died protecting her brother.

OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood
Started this one earlier this week. I've had it for a good while now and first booted it up back when I had Joy-Con drift. It was impossible to play with drift so now I finally got back to it and it seems to be very similar to the original which isn't a bad thing as I really enjoyed the first one on 3DS.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Pokémon Stadium

NA/Europe for me. It's not the prettiest box out there but it's iconic and to the point. Great use of Red and Blue box mascots alongside the transfer pak text to instantly communicate that you can transfer Pokémon from your GB games and battle on the big screen.

@Lady_Galadhiel @NinjaNicky The article answers your question. They are the same game. We just never got the original Pokémon Stadium which featured 40 Pokémon and no minigames. Our Stadium 2 was known as Pokémon Stadium Gold & Silver in Japan.

Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
This is pretty much the only game I've been playing lately. About to start chapter 16. Lost couple of units in chapter 14. Whose idea was it to combine desert with fog of war? I think I'm at 4 casualties now + the ones I've failed to recruit. The game started off kind of bland but it's gotten better over time.

Re: Switch Online's GBC Library Might Be Getting The Pokémon Trading Card Game Very Soon

PTCG is a great game. I'd say it has aged better than the first generation of main series games. That said, I've already beaten it many times. Now, if Japan gets the sequel, that would be something I'd play in a heartbeat.

I'll probably skip today's presentation. I can't remember the last time they showed something interesting enough that outweighed all the other stuff they spent time on. I can watch anything that interests me later.

Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
Cleared chapters 9 & 10 today. Chapter 10 was great. My favorite map so far. I had amazing luck with recruits. I happened to have all the necessary characters with me for both chapters in order to recruit characters that showed up as enemies. It also helped that I knew to talk to Gonzales with Lilina thanks to Fire Emblem Cipher. He has a nice card.[/img]

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Currently at the stable that has weird dress code.

Color Zen
My podcast game of choice for today.

Re: Theatrhythm Final Bar Line Reveals New DLC Song Pack For October

Late

Finally. It was weird that they left just couple of packs unannounced at launch. I was pretty sure Bravely Default would be one of them since they already had some tracks in Curtain Call but I was still a bit worried.

I love Bravely Default's music as well as Revo's music in general but I was bit disappointed with BD2's music. Though I didn't play very far in the first place so I haven't even heard all of the tracks. Maybe they get better.

Omission of Bravely Second music is unfortunate but not that surprising. They want people to forget it ever existed for some reason.

I wish they had made the announcement couple of days sooner. I guess I'll wait for the next time it gets a discount. I'm not buying it for full price at this point, no matter how many songs it has.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
60 hours in, yet I've barely scratched the surface. Finally met my first Great Fairy today.

Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
Rescued Lilina. Playing via Japanese NSO. Started couple of weeks ago. So far there's nothing special about it, story or gameplay-wise. It's your run-of-the-mill Fire Emblem game featuring everyone's favorite Smash character.

Crystal Defenders R2
For those unaware, this is a Final Fantasy tower defense game. I think I have 3 stages left but the game is kicking my butt. It's been fun but the stages are getting long so it takes a long time to get back to the wave that killed me, just to fail again.

Back to the Future: The Game
I've had this game for 10 years and I finally decided to try it out earlier this week. I got it from my brother for birthday/Christmas. I'd only seen the first movie when I got it. To this day, I haven't watched the third movie. I'm not really a movie guy.

Anyway, the game itself ain't bad but the Wii version is really janky. It has long load times, constant frame drops and sudden stutters that last 1-5 seconds. It's not unplayable but it's annoying. This game was originally released in chapters so I'll probably play the first chapter and move on, unless the game is able to convince me that it's worth playing despite its problems.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Late

I liked all things Mario, Wonder and WarioWare being the highlights. I also got excited for Pikmin now that they showed it a bit more and I was reminded that it's coming out soon. Couple of neat 3rd party ports/remasters/remakes but nothing too special on that front.

Re: WarioWare: Move It! Wiggles Its Way Onto Switch In November

Late

This was one of my favorite announcements and a fun coincidence. I'm going to spend time with my family for my vacation which starts tomorrow and I was looking at some games on my shelf that I might want to take with me. I packed WarioWare: Smooth Moves yesterday. I had so much fun with it when it came out. Many good memories of playing it with friends and family. I thought I'd take it with me in case my niece wants to try it out.

Re: Surprise! Capcom Has Released A Demo For Ghost Trick On The Switch eShop

Late

I wonder if the demo is the same it was for the DS, the chapter where you are introduced to Missile.

EDIT: Downloaded the demo. It seems to start from the beginning unlike the DS demo. I also realized I made a mistake earlier. The DS demo that you could download from Wii actually had unique content. It used the same setting as the chapter where you meet Missile but the story was altered. Here's a video showcasing it if anyone is interested.

Re: Mailbox: Welcome To The Nintendo Life Letters Page!

Late

This was a fun article. I'd missed the announcement so this came to as a surprise.

The first letter made my day. It started out so serious but it transitioned into a joke by the end. Once I saw who wrote it, it all made sense. Good job @jump, you got a chuckle out of me. Best letter well deserved.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS)

Late

I like both NA and Japan box arts but the smug Edgeworth won me over. I actually have a Japanese copy because it was cheaper and has both Japanese and English. Now, earlier this year, more than 10 years later, I played the first case and half of the second case in Japanese. It's nice that it gives you individual save files for both languages.

My collection of the original trilogy is a fun one. 1 is JP, 2 is NA and 3 is EU copy.

Mostly Zelda. I stumbled upon an underground area that just won't stop and I love it. I'm trying to keep a mental map of which turns I've taken. I know I have to go back for at least one thing which fortunately was pretty early on. I have a feeling I know what's at the end of this tunnel.

Re: Switch Online's 'Missions & Rewards' Adds Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Icons

Late

I really like customizing my icon. And the icon elements are fun to collect in general, other than the slow process of individual confirmations. One problem with them is that they usually launch them at the same time as the game they're based on (which makes sense) so there are potential spoilers. I believe I have every Xenoblade 3 icon so far. I will get these as well.
