@AG_Awesome Oh, very differently yes. There's a lot of minutia between Tetris versions that would take a long time to explain, and is better experienced through actual play. I mean, if one is really curious... these are all very old games that can also be enjoyed via "other methods." But I do think all the documentary material makes this release worth looking into.
"A shockingly untrustworthy 71% of respondees said they hadn't ever licked a Switch game cartridge, either."
Whenever I get a new Switch game, I "christen" it by licking the cartridge. Just once. I'm not ashamed.
(I don't do this for used games because I'm silly, not foolish!)
Vampire Survivors was already my top favorite "Castlevania" game. This DLC has only enhanced my existing love for it, as well as my love of actual Castlevania.
@Bonggon5 It's not unfair. A game should be reviewed on how fun it is to play today, in the current time. If all games were rated based on how good they were at the time they came out, there'd be a lot of games getting undue praise for no reason but nostalgia.
or I could just listen to them all on YouTube right now without waiting. this is a cute service and all, but not uploading the entire library of music (or at least all of the "greatest hits") all at once is a mistake.
"More IS more, but sometimes more is too much"
This con right here exemplifies exactly why this game is undeserving of anything above a 6 (mayyybe a 7).
Tooie is so bloated it buckles under its own weight. Now granted the collecathoning isn't as bad as, say, Donkey Kong 64. But it's definitely worse than Banjo-Kazooie. This game is a rare (no pun intended) example of Rare trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice, and failing.
I love games like this doing little wink-and-nod crossovers. Like, "here's indie game Balatro! here's indie game Potion Craft! here's an actual flesh and blood musician for some reason because why not!"
Yooka Laylee wasn't exactly bad, but it certainly wasn't very good. I'm curious to see what a remaster of this game can do, and what a tightened up experience would feel like, regardless of what platform it's on.
It's guerilla marketing. Nintendo didn't make anyone sign anything, and there's no NSO account penalties for leaking the data. So basically Nintendo got paying customers (expansion pass subscribers) to perform free advertising.
tvPH Brazil has a solid track record, so I trust them. Not that this news is surprising, either.
"First party developer to focus on new hardware." Yeah, obviously.
I got this bag with my points, and I was surprised at how impressive it is!
It's built from a pretty solid canvas, and has done well on a couple grocery trips so far - major step up in quality from the cheap nylon bags they offered a couple years ago. It's a good size too, with a print that doesn't feel like it'll chip off quickly.
"Ancel found himself at the heart of some controversy in recent years, however, after a report alleged of toxic behavior stemming from his leadership at Ubisoft."
A lot of fans and gaming press either forgot that, swept it under the rug, or both.
I never forgot.
I swore to never buy a Ubisoft game again, and I don't regret it a single bit.
It's always sad to see games get less accessible, but I'm glad it's still available at all.
This is one of the most feel-good gaming experiences available on Switch.
Love that even though this isn't going for a pitch-perfect movie adaptation or anything, they still went and made Frank-N-Furter look just like Tim Curry — the definitive version of the character.
I'm gonna be honest - I wasn't expecting this or RetroRealms Halloween to review well. So this is a pleasant surprise, just in time for scary season! Great review, thanks.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Tetris Forever
@AG_Awesome Yes, because it's basically an interactive documentary on the history of Tetris, with a lot of different versions to enjoy and learn.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Tetris Forever
Physical, physical, physical. This needs a physical version so bad.
Re: Feature: Nintendo's Long-Lost Advent Calendar Game Comes Home For Christmas On Switch
It would be really, really funny if this led directly into the Switch 2 reveal.

Re: Sega Delisting 'Mega Drive Classics' On Switch eShop This December
I am SO glad I have a physical version of this one.
This is also a pretty big strike against the NSO expansion pack, if only "select individual classic titles" will remain up.
Re: It's Official, 'Switch 2' Will Be Backwards Compatible
This is an absolutely essential feature, and I'm glad to see Nintendo is taking it seriously.
I guess a broken alarmo is right twice a day.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Mario & Luigi: Brothership?
Not at launch.
It looks good, and I do want it.
But dang, too many games, not enough money.
Re: Review: Clock Tower: Rewind (Switch) - Pre-RE Survival Horror That's Elevated By Extras
@Wisps You can disagree if you want, but I still firmly believe a game should be reviewed on how fun it is to play today, in the current time.
Re: Mini Review: Vampire Survivors: Ode To Castlevania (Switch) - Divine DLC Is Absolutely Essential
Vampire Survivors was already my top favorite "Castlevania" game.
This DLC has only enhanced my existing love for it, as well as my love of actual Castlevania.
Re: Seven Months After Closure, The Nintendo Network Has Lost Its Final Player
The true end of an era
Thank you for your service.
Re: Review: Clock Tower: Rewind (Switch) - Pre-RE Survival Horror That's Elevated By Extras
@Yoshi3 One of the cons outlined in this review says "Visuals and gameplay are undeniably old-fashioned," so.

Re: Random: Rapper Doja Cat Debuts 'Bouncy' Conker-Inspired Halloween Costume
Honestly, that's a great costume. 5 stars.
Re: Round Up: QUByte Connect 2024 - Every Switch Game Announcement
I was starting to think I'd never see a Rage of Dragons release date, so this is excellent news!
The Accolade Sports Collection is a pleasant surprise too.
Re: Video: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Launch Trailer Builds Excitement
@Iskandy results may vary. it depends on how much of a completionist the player is, as well as willingness to XP grind.
Re: Video: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Launch Trailer Builds Excitement
the more I see and learn about this game, the more I want it.
I'm not too keen on spending a full $60 USD price tag on a 10 - 15 hour RPG, but... it bears replaying, and it looks really nice.
Re: 'Nintendo Music' Will Add More Tracks Over Time, Here's What's Been Revealed So Far
@coolioam Oh that's a good point. i commute to work, so I do pay for premium.

Re: Digital Eclipse's 'Tetris Forever' To Include 2 MS-DOS Games
now I'm just waiting for them to include a physical version.
Re: Random: Someone's Figured Out How To Run Custom Code On Nintendo's Alarmo
very excited for Alardoom: The Dark Ages
Re: Poll: Is Next Week’s Investor Q&A Really Reason Enough For A 'Switch 2' Reveal?
they aren't announcing a blessed thing before the December holidays.
there really needs to be more checking of expectations.
Re: Reaction: With Xenoblade Chronicles X On Switch, The Wii U's Demise Is Complete
Yoshi's Wooly World would like a word (the inferior 3DS version doesn't count).
Re: Random: Owners Of A Nintendo Frying Pan Are Being Warned Not To Use It
Oil be sure to avoid using it.
Re: Switch Emulator Ryujinx Might Not Be Dead, Despite Nintendo's Takedown
I love to hear this kind of news.
Emulation is a hydra that no gaming company will ever defeat.
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 19.0.1 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
"Fixed an issue where communication processes such as software downloads would not function properly during sleep mode."
It's interesting how many people didn't notice this until Version 19.
I've had the download problem since at least V16, possibly as far back as V15.
Re: Switch System Update 19.0.0 Is Apparently Causing Some Issues
I haven't noticed any issues (yet) myself, but I also got in the habit of turning my switch all the way off when not using it for a couple hours.

Yooka Laylee wasn't exactly bad, but it certainly wasn't very good. I'm curious to see what a remaster of this game can do, and what a tightened up experience would feel like, regardless of what platform it's on.

Re: Rumour: A Rayman Remake May Be On The Cards At Ubisoft
@Zach777 I'm not looking to change anyone's mind.
I just have a moral compass I proudly stand by.

I truly and unironically appreciate this 🙏🏽 I love leaked games.
They help me determine if I wanna spend $60 USD on a game or not.
Re: Nintendo's Mysterious Switch Online Playtest Program Is Now Accessible
@KIRO Given what I already know about it, I believe it.
Re: Nintendo's Mysterious Switch Online Playtest Program Is Now Accessible
@Ninfan No it's not related to gamecube at all. That's one of a few reasons it was a disappointment.
Re: Let's Do The Time Warp In This New 'Tetris Forever' Trailer
Still waiting on that physical.
Re: HAL Laboratory's Lovely Physics Puzzler 'Part Time UFO' Has Been Delisted On Mobile
It's always sad to see games get less accessible, but I'm glad it's still available at all.
This is one of the most feel-good gaming experiences available on Switch.
Re: Poll: Sonic X Shadow Generations Is Out This Week, Will You Be Getting It?
No, because I already have Sonic Generations on two other releases, and Shadow isn't a very interesting character.
Re: Hot Patootie! There's A Rocky Horror Show Retro Platformer On The eShop

Re: As Expected, Nintendo Is Struggling To Contain Switch Online Playtest Leaks
Did they forget we already have Minecraft and No Man's Sky on Switch?
Re: Nintendo's Mysterious Switch Online Playtest Program Is Now Accessible
I looked up the details on other sites, and wow what a disappointment.
Re: Darkwood
If you have issues with reading small text, skip this game.
Re: Random: Mario's New Voice Actor Says It's "Surreal" To Hear His Voice In Mario Party

he'll be sorely missed, but he leaves an astonishing musical legacy.
he's earned his flowers and a great big rest ten times over ❤️
Re: Review: Blazing Strike (Switch) - A Beautiful Love Letter To The Fighting Game Hardcore
Hey, more fighting games is always good. And more indie fighting games is even better.
I never heard of this one before, so thanks for the review.
Re: Talking Point: Just How Damaging Is This Big Pokémon Leak?
