Re: Nintendo And Pokémon File Lawsuit Against Palworld Developer Pocketpair

I want the Pokémon Company to lose so badly.
You can't patent or copyright a concept, you can't patent or own an idea. The monster-collecting RPG genre is just that — a genre.
Unless The Pokémon Company magically owns some patents to the concept of "sandbox-survival genre games" that I don't know about 😒
Palword skirts the line between parody, or even homage, sure. But it in no way was advertised or sold as a Pokémon product. This should not hold up in an infringement case.
There should not be a world where entire corporations have patented ownership of specific game genres.

I have never been more excited for a compilation release in all my years. These are stellar fighting games that have barely aged a day since their original releases, but also a series of games that mean a lot to me personally.
Even if the emulation was shoddy, I still would have bought this compilation at least twice 😅 But I'm glad to hear all is well.

Re: Bayonetta Star Jennifer Hale On The SAG-AFTRA Strikes: "AI Is Coming For Us All"

LadyCharlie

Hale is right, and there are too many people missing out on the bigger picture.
It's not just writers, actors, or game developers that are hanging on by a thread.
Real-world news sites are using AI to compose articles. Call centers are switching to AI prompt bots.
There's no customer service job that won't be overridden by AI and self-serve kiosks. White collar desk jobs are also endangered, as is evidenced by a decaying job market.

When AI impacts the game industry, yeah, it sucks. But when AI impacts everyone?? That's terrifying.

This is about way more than voice actor royalties, and everyone needs to realize that real quick.
