I love when you all review off-the-beaten path games I never would have heard of otherwise. Thanks for this review! This game sounds like a sleeper hit.
I still firmly believe that Endless Ocean Luminous is an A.I. project, or uses A.I. in it.
There's one "voice actor" that's an AI voice bot. The way the creatures pop-in (or sometimes don't) feels like the world populates as you play. I dunno how much I trust Nintendo's claim here.
@Mana_Knight Here's why the "it is your own fault if you are actually paying RRP" argument doesn't hold water.
The average non-gamer consumer. Average Jane, John, or Jamie Doe on the street can be hoodwinked by shoddy business practices that aren't talked about much outside dedicated gaming circles. Heck, I'd argue that makes Nintendo's attempt to fleece £50 for this game that much more insidious.
This game gets a lot of flack, and I can absolutely understand why. But personally, I'm still having a silly fun time with it ...on Series X. The Kameo system is nonsense though.
I recently played this via Xbox Series X and had a great time.
The other day, someone on here told me that's because the Xbox version is enhanced both graphically, and in terms of controls.
@nocdaes You're not wrong, and I don't disagree. But admittedly I, personally, am not sure how much new could be added to Metroid Prime, without making it a completely different kind of game.
A reinvention of the wheel would be nice, don't get me wrong. But as long as it meets the expectations of what a Metroid Prime game should be, that'll do just fine.
playable Princess Zelda and Marvel Vs. Capcom is all I need.
everything else is just filler for me.
A+ Nintendo Direct, one of the best I've ever seen.
This annoucement here alone, made this a 10 outta 10 direct for me.
My jaw popped wide open.
Absolutely legendary fighting games, and it is such a relief to finally see them get a proper re-release.
I will get this on Switch, and if it comes to Xbox I'll gladly double-dip so I can play with proper online 😅
Sold. Day One purchase. Pre-ordering it, even. This is exactly what I want from a Zelda game. ZELDA IN A STARRING ROLE, and 2D gameplay. A+, 5 stars, 10/10.
At some point, even the most ardent, unapologetic defenders of everything this multi billion dollar corporation does, have to realize "enough is enough, this is going too far," right?

Re: WayForward Is Reviving Its GBA Game 'Sigma Star Saga' For Modern Platforms
emulated this one on my flash cart. it's kinda janky, but in a charming way.
very clever little game ahead of it's time in many ways.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES Library With Seven More Games
@Notsoavid Mach Rider is a lot of fun. Just keep in mind to press up and down for shifting gears (not explained in-game).
Re: Switch eShop Hit Suika Game Adds Four New DLC Skins, Here's A Look
@TheRazzBerry Oh you're right, and I agree with you. Thank you (and @Lizuka too) for clarifying the price on these.
Buying all four skins ends up being more expensive than the game itself, and that's not a great look.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES Library With Seven More Games
Solar Jetman is neat, and Cobra Triangle is pretty good. Nice to see more gems from Rare Reply being playable to more people!
Mach Rider is also lot of fun, with some kickin' music to boot.
Re: Switch eShop Hit Suika Game Adds Four New DLC Skins, Here's A Look
@Lizuka Oh snap, I thought it was one purchase for all 4 skins. But you're right - I just checked the eshop, and they're all sold separately.
Yeah you're right, that's pretty weird.
Re: Switch eShop Hit Suika Game Adds Four New DLC Skins, Here's A Look
FINALLY some new in-game music 🥲

Re: Review: Tchia (Switch) - A Brilliantly Fun (And Surprisingly Adult) Animal-Hopping Adventure
Saw a few people playing this on twitch.
Looks wonderful and creative. I'm glad (and shocked) to hear the Switch version holds up!
Re: Bare Butt Boxing Gets Cheeky On Switch Next Month
Ah. A game of power bottoms.

@Mana_Knight Here's why the "it is your own fault if you are actually paying RRP" argument doesn't hold water.

Re: Sega's Crazy Taxi Reboot Is Described As A 'Massively Multiplayer Driving Game'
...I'm intrigued. If it has an online multiplayer component, I'm in.
But if it's always-online, online-only, I'm out.
I feel like competing with other players for fares could be a lot of fun.
Re: UK Charts: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Scares Off The Competition
@westman98 Nintendo Selects knocked it down to $20/£16 until the 3DS was discontinued
Re: UK Charts: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Scares Off The Competition
@WiltonRoots I did say $60 USD
Re: UK Charts: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Scares Off The Competition
A £50/$60USD port of a previously £16/$20USD game, with no new content (and arguably fewer features), topping the charts.
What a state the industry is in.
Re: Review: Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition (Switch) - Beyond Good, Still
@Coalescence My life is pretty good actually. I'm fairly happy most of the time, I don't feel miserable too often.
Separating the art from the artist is only possible, when the artist isn't currently doing active harm.
Re: Random: Nintendo Considered Some Bananas Names For DK, Including "Kong Dong"
I tried to think of a joke for this, but it's hard.
Re: Review: Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition (Switch) - Beyond Good, Still
@Balladeer
Thank you for saying this. I wish your comment could be highlighted.
The things that Ubisoft has done to gaming, and to their work force, needs to stop being swept under the rug.
Re: Review: Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition (Switch) - Beyond Good, Still
$20 USD for a remaster of a Game Cube era game, with new content to boot.
@Nintendo , take notes.
Re: Review: NeoSprint (Switch) - Atari's Pricey But Revved-Up Retro Romp
Sounds more like a 5 or 6, than a 7.
I'll stick to playing Sprint on the Atari 50 then.
Re: Nintendo Is Hard At Work To Prevent Future Leaks
There will be more leakers.
It happened before, it will happen again.
There were leakers before Pyoro and Midori. There will be leakers after as well.
I can't wait to see who comes next ❤️
Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch
Remember how Metroid Prime Remastered cost $40 USD?
And there was a physical edition of Pikmin 1 and 2 that only cost $50 USD?
Because it seems Nintendo sure as flip forgot!!
And Nintendo wonders why so many people emulate their games 🙄
Re: Talking Point: Is Shovel Knight Now A Retro Gaming Icon?
Shovel Knight is an icon, but not a retro one.
SK's first game is only a decade old, and was released on multiple platforms, many of which are still currently supported.
Iconic, yes.
Retro, no.

Re: Atari 50: Expanded Edition Adds 2 New Timelines And 39 New Games
I bought the existing version of this for myself literally a month ago, to the day!
Great timing, me!
Re: Review: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (Switch) - The Best Version, But Lacks Extras To Make It Essential
$60 USD for a game that sold as cheap as $20 USD, with no new features.
No thanks.
Re: PSA: Metroid Zero Mission's Fusion Gallery Is Already Unlocked On Switch
Seems a bit cheeky, like the butt of a joke.
Re: Tetris 99 'F-Zero 99 Edition' Maximus Cup Event Announced
The crossover of all time!
In all seriousness, I love these events because the matches are all full of real players, and I get to clash with some great competition.

Re: Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Switch Physical Won't Require A Download
Based 🙏🏽 Love to see it.
..almost makes me forget about Capcom's shoddy physical release of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th June (North America)
I immediately downloaded Moonstone Island yesterday, right at 2PM UTC.
Spent a couple hours with it so far, and it makes me happy.
Re: Switch Online's Latest N64 Release 'Perfect Dark' Appears To Have Some Emulation Issues
I recently played this via Xbox Series X and had a great time.

...now I know what they meant.

But admittedly I, personally, am not sure how much new could be added to Metroid Prime, without making it a completely different kind of game.
Re: Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics Will Get Super On Switch This Year
@Mommar Yeah, so I saw. Well, Switch and Steam it is then.
Re: Nintendo Direct June 2024: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
@pipes That was Konami, not Capcom.

Re: Hands On: 'Hello Kitty Island Adventure' Was By Far Our Biggest Surprise Of Summer Game Fest
what a time to be alive.
Re: Reaction: A Direct That Delivered, And Shows That Switch Still Has Plenty Of Pep
Playable Princess Zelda in a mainline Zelda game? And a re-release of Marvel Vs. Capcom ?
If I could rate this direct an 11/10, I would.
Re: Nintendo Direct June 2024: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
playable Princess Zelda and Marvel Vs. Capcom is all I need.
everything else is just filler for me.
A+ Nintendo Direct, one of the best I've ever seen.
Re: Gallery: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Looking Absolutely Stunning On Switch
Calling it now.
This game will either be cross-gen and/or enhanced for Switch 2.
Mark my words, you heard it here first.

Recently played Perfect Dark on game pass for the first time in decades.
Holds up well. Great game.
Re: New 2D Adventure 'The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom' Announced For This September

This is exactly what I want from a Zelda game. ZELDA IN A STARRING ROLE, and 2D gameplay.
A+, 5 stars, 10/10.
Re: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Finally Gets Release Date, I & II Remakes Confirmed
Good to finally have the confirmation.
This will surely be the ideal way to play these games from now on.
Re: We're Getting A Brand New 'Mario & Luigi' RPG This November
The animation looks OUTSTANDING.
But I dunno if this series will feel the same without Alpha Dream (RIP).
