I think a lot of people forget that the point of NSO is to play online. The emulators aren't the point, they're just a bonus. The base version of NSO is a pretty good deal as far as subscriptions go.
in the Switch 2 era, I do want to see less reliance on huge IPs.
remember the 3DS/Wii U era, where Nintendo weren't afraid to try new IPs? Splatoon, Pushmo, Box Boy, Dillon's Rolling Western, etc. more of that, please.
I know Switch was all about Nintendo digging their heels in to establish presence, and it worked. but there's been enough of the play-it-safe corporatization. less Zeldas. less Marios. more new things.
everything about it holds up so well to this day. the elegantly simple gameplay, the tight and excellent controls, the blue sky visuals blended with just the right amount of grand prix bombast, the smooth Eurobeat-by-way-of-Japan soundtrack.
a true classic.
It's not a radical change. The difference is negligible.
That said, I think I like the new look a little better? It looks like he's relaxed his brow, which makes a slightly more cartoony and lighthearted appearance. It's ok.
I saw gameplay footage on YouTube and was blown away by how good the port is!!
As an example, it runs circles around the PS4 version for sure.
The lack of crossplay should be listed as a very major con. If someone who hasn't played this fighting game gem has a PS5 or Xbox Series to play this on, that's the better way to play. But for Switch die-hards looking for the next great brawler, this is a must.
I completely understand, but it's still horribly sad news. Creative differences are rough.
Celeste is one of the most influential, affecting, and just plain great games of the Switch generation.
Whatever Maddy, Lena Raine, and the rest of the Extremely OK Games team does next, I'll be there.
Reminder that indie games are not a genre. They are a publisher status. Indie games come in a variety of genres (and sub genres), with something for anyone to enjoy.
Talk is cheap, and Nintendo sure have been doing a lot of talking.
If credits are so important, then patching in the names of the original is the least that can be done. But the names of the original dev team should have been there from the start.
It's my Wii U that I bought with my money, and if it's not getting any further manufacturer support, most countries ensure I have every right to do with it as I please.
god I hated Hollow Knight.
I generally enjoy Metroidvanias. And the combat in this one is entertaining enough, but the rest of the game feels so empty and unappealing.
Now let's talk about the U.S. tech companies that are actually well documented as being arms of the U.S. military. Let ye without sin cast the first stone and all that.

Re: Feature: Strictly Limited Responds To Switch Delays And Discontent, And Details An Ambitious Target
see, I really am hard pressed to complain about Limited Run, when Strictly Limited still exists.
Re: Random: A Homebrew Port Of Balatro Is Now Available On Nintendo DS
time to fire up the ol' R4 card!
Re: Konami Adds Incredibly Rare Slice Of GBA Ninja History To The Switch eShop
I love the concept of preservation, and the idea of making inaccessible games available to more people.
But on the other hand, this is a decades old GBA game that can easily be played on older hardware for, uh, a lower price.
Re: Warner Bros. Closes Three Studios Including Team Behind Smash-Like Brawler 'MultiVersus'
Warner Bros Interactive is 100 times worse than EA and Activision combined.
Re: GameStop Discontinues Pokémon Trading Card Game Pre-Orders
@MirrorFate2 You know what, you raise a good argument. Broken clock twice a day, though.

rare gamestop W.
Re: Opinion: Scrapping Gold Points Makes Sense For Nintendo, But It's A Bitter Pill For Loyal Fans
the Gold Coins program was a very good pro-consumer move.
that must be why Nintendo is ending it.

Buy more physical games folks, I cannot stress their importance enough.
Re: Review: Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered (Switch) - A Fascinating But Inessential Second Collection
All games deserve to be preserved, even the bad ones.
Just not by me, in this case.
Re: 'System Shock 2' Remaster Is Coming To Nintendo Switch With A New Name
I'm still in disbelief that System Shock 1 never made it to Switch

Re: Lunar Remastered Collection Physical Release Will Not Be Up For Pre-Order (North America)
🤨
This doesn't inspire much confidence in the finished product.
Re: Nintendo President Reiterates Switch Online Will "Continue To Be Available" For Switch 2
I think a lot of people forget that the point of NSO is to play online.
The emulators aren't the point, they're just a bonus. The base version of NSO is a pretty good deal as far as subscriptions go.
That said, the Expansion Pass is a rip-off.
Re: Talking Point: Where Should 'Luigi's Mansion 4' Take Place?

let's do that one.
Re: Sega's eShop Puzzler 'Puyo Puyo Champions' Is Getting A Physical Switch Release

Re: Celeste Fans May Want To Check Out This Adorable New Platformer On Switch
I didn't play Celeste for the platforming.
I bought (twice) and played Celeste for the storytelling, and for the representation ❤️🏳️⚧️

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Namco Classic 'Ridge Racer 64'
I do, in fact, remember that one!
everything about it holds up so well to this day. the elegantly simple gameplay, the tight and excellent controls, the blue sky visuals blended with just the right amount of grand prix bombast, the smooth Eurobeat-by-way-of-Japan soundtrack.
a true classic.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's SNES Library With Three More Titles
the Super NES version of Fatal Fury 2 is very much okay.
but if it gets more people interested in Fatal Fury, I'm okay with it.
Re: Nintendo Bags GLAAD Nomination For Paper Mario's Trans Representation
I'm late to the comments, but I just wanna say:

Re: Guilty Gear Strive Estimated Switch File Size Revealed
I'm pretty optimistic that the Switch version will run well, and I hope those that buy it will have a good time.
Me personally, the lack of crossplay means I don't need to buy this game a third time.
Re: Conan The Barbarian Joins Mortal Kombat 1's DLC Roster Next Week
@Ein I feel like he's a shoo-in for Injustice 3

good riddance to bad rubbish.
I hope the Guillemot family gets used to the idea of not owning Ubisoft.
Re: Nintendo Asks Wii U Owners To Refrain From Using "Unauthorised" Online Services
@TheBigK it's Nintendo just blowing hot air to discourage aftermarket use.

Easy.
