Re: SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos Switch Physical Releases Announced

@EVIL-C Long wait times is no different than pre-ordering a game at retail when it's first announced.
Plus the shipping times have gotten way better since late last year.

I didn't buy any 3DO games from them, so I can't speak on that. But every Switch game I've ordered from them has been great.

AMAZING. Love this news!!

I feel like this game has gotten a lot of unfair flack, just because it's not as good as Capcom vs. SNK 2 (but what is?).
This is a rock solid fighting game on its own merits, and a lot of fast fun. Try it!

Big fingers crossed this is leading up to a new CvS3 🀞🏽

EDIT: After playing this game for the first time in well over a decade, my mind has definitely changed πŸ˜…

Re: Feature: Super Rare Games Talks Digital Publishing, "Shorts" Criticism, And Anticipating The Switch Successor

Super Rare should be bigger than limited run.
Super Rare should be having the popular licenses that limited run has afforded to them.

Super Rare has done so many things right - full transparency during the order process, full transparency about shipping windows, extras with every order, and highlighting the real indie gems that Limited Run wouldn't dream of touching.

HE'S RIGHT. He's so right and should say it.

I'm too old to care about longwinded intros. I've dropped multiple games that failed to just get to, y'know, the game. People play games to play.

I think another great quote on the subject, comes from John Carmack: β€œStory in a game is like story in [an adult] movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not important.”
Gameplay first. If the gameplay isn't there in a video game then there is no point.

Re: Soapbox: Metroid’s Mother Brain And The Rewind Dilemma

@Meip Cool things happen by reading articles past the headlines.

"I’m of course referring to Mother Brain, the cycloptic super-computer and the original Metroid’s final boss encounter. Because Zero Mission includes a brilliant epilogue section that takes place after this fight, the big brain serves as the remake’s penultimate boss but is still the game’s most difficult encounter by far. Some even argue that it’s an unfair fight."

I'm too old and too tired of the "git gud" argument.

NO. I actively refuse.
The Mother Brain boss battle sucks, it's not fun, and neither are any other games (and/or parts of games) that are just hard for the sake of being hard.

Games are supposed to be GAMES, and making things obtusely hard for no reason isn't fun. It's work, a chore.

Difficulty for the sake of difficulty isn't good game design, and I'm tired of being told to pretend that it is.
