What a slap in the face. Nintendo should enforce upgrade options to incentivize Switch 2 purchases. I can understand not making free upgrades to an extent, but there should be a discount in place
SEGA announced their move to third party in 2001, technically while N64 was Nintendo’s predominant console, but the focus certainly shifted to GameCube and GBA, so SEGA wanted to get on those platforms while they were getting started. Had SEGA threw the towel in earlier, I would have loved to see what Sonic would be like on N64 hardware.
I need to renew in a few weeks. Admittedly, I didn’t use much of the perks of Expansion Pass this year. A little Luigi’s Mansion here, a bit of Rayman 2 there, a couple nights of the Virtual Boy and the occasional Warioware. Even with that extra month, I’m not sure if I’d get the value’s worth.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave really impressed me. I’ve had a bit of a break from the Fire Emblem games from Three Houses onwards, but I can definitely see this pulling me back.
I’ve been rooting for Velan since they have really emitted a playful essence in their games and the games they’re rooted in and they did have to undergo layoffs from a year or two ago. Glad to see their relationship with Nintendo continues.
Anyone else finding these minigames trickier than Warioware at higher speeds? A game like Neon Lights really leaves you no room for haste in deciding the right wire.
This is such a strange but fun way to go down memory lane with my photos spanning from over a decade ago. I’m continually laughing from all the pulls from photos across my history.
The Daniel Craig movies and the Daniel Craig Goldeneye remake on Wii made it a point to plug those Sony phones, so this sponsorship certainly isn’t uncharted territory
The discourse around Directs absolutely sucks. Its always the same cycle of people being impatient, having blind speculation, a handful of leaks surfacing, it eventually airing and then a ton of people talking about how it was such an awful presentation.
The pace they’re announcing and marketing games right now is completely fine and you don’t get this hysteria about how every Direct should be the equivalent to a gripping season finale.
This is the message you receive when you Check In to watch the movie.
You won’t find it on Nintendo Today! until you Check In via the Super Mario Galaxy Movie Portal and enter information implying you went to see the movie, then revisit the app the next day. So, many may have seen this message back when the film premiered. You also get a Thank You message from Chris Meladrandri, phone wallpapers and photo frames.
I thought the Check In content was sweet. These sort of extra-film experiences don’t happen enough beyond some wacky theatre cutouts. My theatre also had Nintendo stations set up during the premiere to let people play Super Mario Galaxy on Switch 2 and get goodies. I’d love to see a similar promotion blowout when the Zelda movie comes around.
They adapted the Mario games perfectly in that they’re a hodge-podge of different obstacles and hurdles. It was never meant to be formed like a Pixar movie.
Its okay. Good highs, some decent challenges, but also some weird jank and stiffness I wouldn’t have expected. The first level was well done, but it rarely goes above that.
I just got back into the game. I’m hoping Ranked eventually rewards with some of the tougher Hyper Lumiose stones. I want a Mega Glimmora, but it seems the matters to get that is tough in the DLC.
Shoutout to Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, which initially got a 10/10 from the site, but the reviewer allegedly plagiarized from another review, and the follow-up review lowered it to an 8.
I’m also really excited for Neverway. I don’t usually fall for these pixel life-sims or indie Zelda-likes, but that game has the parts for me. It looks well thought out and perfectly themed.
I really thought Pac-Man NES was already on Nintendo Classics. Guess I got it confused with some other Namco games on there.
I’ve tried playing Tower of Druaga in the past. I really don’t like it. Too cryptic. Too stiff. The maze design, the surprise enemy pop-ups and some of the stage hazards are just frustrating. It shocks me that this was a big hit in Japan.
Fun fact: Gil, the main character of Druaga has a DLC Mii Fighter costume in Smash Wii U/3DS and Smash Ultimate.
Mendel Palace is neat. I have no history with it, but after enjoying Pulseman, loving my time with Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! and generally liking those Yoshi games, its definitely been on my mind to play more of the non-Pokémon GameFreak games. Drill Dozer particularly has been sitting on my Wii U for so long.
Brian Tyler’s composition was what got me so excited to watch Mario Galaxy in IMAX. The score did not disappoint. Excellent work. It was especially great to listen to the Pikmin and Star Fox works in the theatre
I purchased the Toad design last week. Really like it for its illustration. I initially didn’t like the “Where’s the Trouble” shirt when it was revealed a month ago, but its grown on me.
They split the missions and rewards among 3 scenes of the movie, so Rosalina doesn’t get a statue. But why am I getting 15 Tickets over a Kamek statue in “A Father and Son Retaliate?”
I’d use GameChat more if my friends had Switch 2. Its not enticing yet, for most of them, but from what I’ve tried in GameChat, its promising. I like it more than PlayStation’s chat system.
Imagine being a stockholder, getting credible info that one of the best games Nintendo ever made is getting a big budget remake and balling out as if its not going to be a major seller.
Like in a year where Nintendo has to compete against consoles that are slated to have GTA6 this holiday, Nintendo has something worthwhile for the system to compete with.
Its probably better for the little ones that they now don’t have to hear the guys in their 30’s-40’s hollering in the back now that he’s expected to appear.
I do think this is more-or-less a test of Star Fox’s IP value in different parameters that Nintendo can value. The discussion is now so explicitly about how Star Fox is in the movie Vs. people being skiddish over mentioning it since it would have been a spoiler. This entire movie is really only made to elevate Nintendo’s brand appeal after all.

Re: Splatoon Raiders Nintendo Direct June 2026: Time, Date, How To Watch
If we don’t get a Special Release playlist for this game on Nintendo Music after the direct, we riot.

Knockout City died for this!

Re: New Joy-Con Colours And A Stand-Alone Direct Are Inbound For Splatoon Raiders
At least we’ll likely get more wrist strap variety than Switch 1 had.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct June 2026 Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
5 things I hope for:
1. A Legend of Zelda game, that’s not Wind Waker HD or Twilight Princess HD on Switch & Switch 2
2. An update on Mario Kart World
3. A new Ace Attorney game
4. A new Nintendo Switch Sports game
5. A new Ring Fit Adventure game

Re: Reminder: Nintendo's New Mobile Game 'Pictonico!' Is Now Available
Ok…the gimmick worked on me. This game is hilarious.
Re: Hands On: Pokémon-Inspired Switch Hopeful 'Petal Runner' Stole The Show At BitSummit
Another win for Canadian devs. Really excited for this game.
Re: PSA: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Digital Rollout Begins
@Yojimbo Part of your problem.
Re: Surprise! Nintendo Has Announced A New Mobile Game
Looks neat. Intelligent Systems used to make a lot of small-scaled goofy games like this. Neat to see them come back to this on mobile.

Re: Try Yoshi And The Mysterious Book Early With An In-Store Demo (North America)
I love going to Best Buy!
Re: Nintendo Music "Special Release" Adds Tracks From Star Fox's Switch 2 Game
This music is so good! This is the most convicing factor towards purchasing the game for me.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales
Seeing so many of these Box Art Brawls, I feel disillusioned to these simplistic Japanese boxarts.

I had a bit more fun with Star Fox Guard.
Re: "A Big Miscalculation On My Part" – Hideki Kamiya On Leaving Bayonetta 3 Up To Interpretation
To be fair, none of the Bayo stories make sense, so I’m not too miffed, but Jeane did deserve a better send-off.
I liked Viola by the end of Bayo 3, so hopefully we’ll get a follow-up title to come that can work these two back.
Re: Reminder: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Adds Angry Birds Racer 'Red' As Free DLC
@PanAndrzej Stingby, Peepa, Snowman, Conkdor, Pokey.
Re: The Street Fighter Movie Somehow Looks Both Terrible And Amazing
This is the camp I need. I’m stocked!
Re: Reminder: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Adds Angry Birds Racer 'Red' As Free DLC
@PanAndrzej To be fair, Nintendo likes putting characters with no limbs in vehicles for a reason.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battle Season 10 Start Date And Rewards Revealed

Re: He-Man's Stunning-Looking Beat 'Em Up Delayed Just Two Weeks Before Release
They probably wanted this out in time with the live action movie. Hopefully devs aren’t losing sleep over this.
There is going to be a turn-based, co-op Masters of the Universe game coming still in time with the film, but its not coming to Switch.

Still a 10/10 in my heart.

I have my IMAX ticket for Thursday. Watching the firat one yesterday, I forgot how well animated it was. So excited to see it on the holiday night.
Re: Video: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch & Switch 2)
Playing it on Switch 2, having it beaten twice on Switch 1, its a noticeable difference. But the game already looked rather nice to start.
