Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"

KryptoniteKrunch

Yeah, $400 is what it'll probably be, $450 max. At $400, only $50 more than a Switch OLED, that would be a fantastic price.

Biggest console launch is also a very strong possibility. If it's only $400, launches with Mario kart and coming off the success of the current Switch? I can absolutely see it doing that.

Re: Nintendo Places Outside Top 20 In Metacritic's 15th Annual Game Publisher Rankings

These metacritic lists never do any favors for publishers that release a lot of games per year like Nintendo.

A publisher can release only one game that ranks like 83 or something and they would be higher than a publisher that released several games that rated 85, 75, 79 or whatever. Quality over quantity for sure, but for the most part, Nintendo does both.

I don't think Nintendo was even #1 in 2023 when they released Xenoblade 3 FR, Tears of the Kingdom, AW 1&2, Pikmin 4 and Mario Wonder. To me, that's far and away #1 publisher of the year.

Eh, there are no real signs of PS taking back the Japanese market though. Square Enix is already moving away from Playstation exclusivity, several Japanese 3rd party games aare already committed to the Switch 2. The rumored handheld(if it actually does materialize) isn't even supposed to have its own library; it will supposedly only play PS4 and PS5 games. So it won't even be direct competition with the Switch 2. Sony's handheld isn't even a guaranteed success either, look how badly they botched the Vita.

Not only that, but the rumored handheld and PS6 are still years off(2028?) so just like how the current Switch released between the PS4 and PS5, I think the Switch 2 will be fine.

Re: Dbrand Seems To Have Shared Images Of Switch 2 Inside Its New Case

I don't see the issue with the Switch 2 just being a more powerful Switch. Nintendo has done that in the past(NES -> SNES, Gameboy/GBC - > GBA, DS -> 3DS) and Sony has been doing that with all of their systems(similar looking controllers from them too).

Switch 2 will be fine if it has good marketing and exclusives. Which, judging by the current Switch, it will certainly get.

Re: Reaction: The Game Awards Left Us With One Big Question: Will Any Of This Run On Switch 2?

KryptoniteKrunch

If those leaked specs are anything to go by, the Switch 2 will actually be more powerful than people think.(using DLSS, stronger than PS4 and way more modern architecture) I think a good chunk of these games will wind up on Switch 2, especially the Japanese games.

The diminishing returns between PS4 and PS5 and the fact that devs. aren't even realizing the full potential of the PS5 leads me to believe the Switch 2 will get plenty of 3rd party support.

Re: Video: Let's Discuss The Big Question: What The Heck Is Happening At Nintendo Right Now?

Busy releasing games and preparing for their next platform. We got EoW, Jamboree and Brothership to finish the year off and a couple of ports to start the new year. Then comes to reveal and release of the successor. Not really strange at all, they just had a direct in August instead of September. They've also been doing shadow drop announcements like Xenoblade X for years now.

Re: Talking Point: Can Sony And Microsoft Really Compete With Nintendo In A New 'Handheld War'?

KryptoniteKrunch

Competing with Nintendo? Not a chance. Sony and MS's handhelds will likely be more expensive than the Switch 2 and also(according to the same rumors that are reporting these handhelds existence) won't have their own exclusive games.

Can these handhelds be successful? Perhaps. I might be interested in them since I prefer portable gaming. However, after the Vita, I'm cautious about how Sony handles another portable.
