Ports like this, Cyberpunk and AC Shadows prove that Switch 2 is more capable than some give it credit for. Then you got games like System Shock remake that has issues(which I'm sure could've been ironed out if they just delayed it).

People trying to downplay this is quite amusing. Ok, so you and your very small group of friends doesn't have a Switch 2, that doesn't mean it's not selling LOL.

There's like 3 people in my extended family(including mom and dad's side) that are interested in the NFL, that doesn't mean NFL isn't popular. Honestly, wild logic.

I think he's right. Nintendo is definitely way more in touch than Sony and Microsoft, that's for sure. Sony is making all of this live service slop that no one asked for(so bad that they cancelled half of them already) and Microsoft who is struggling to sell consoles which forced them to put games on Nintendo and Playstation. Not to mention Sony and MS have been closing studios, issuing layoffs and cancelling several games.

So yeah, I definitely agree with this take. Pretty telling that even a former Playstation exec. is saying this. Of course Nintendo isn't perfect(no company is). But yeah, I would definitely say Nintendo is far more touch with their fans than others.

Mario Kart doing great numbers. Man, even with its successor out, Switch 1 is still outperforming the PS5, crazy.

I feel like folks expecting the Switch 2 sales to drop are like the fans of a sports team who always falls short of winning the championship and say "there's always next year!". People did the same thing when the Switch 1 came out too.

Black Ops 7 is still coming to PS4, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it on Switch 2. Whichever Call of Duty game comes to Switch 2, I expect it to be revealed at a Direct anyway.

There will definitely be Switch 2 ads on the show, pretty much a given. Also wouldn't surprise me if we get a decent amount of third party titles being announced for Switch 2. As for 1st party stuff from Nintendo, I wouldn't bank on that.

Switch 2 is just weeks away and Switch 1 is still the best selling platform in Japan, crazy.

Seems like this is a common occurrence with games that launch early in a console's lifespan.

As much as people might not like it, he has a point. Even if GTA 6 is as much as $100, people will buy it. If games like Madden, FIFA/FC and Call of Duty are $80, people will buy it. Diehard Playstation fans will surely pick up the first $80 Playstation 1st party title etc.

Definitely down to getting if it does come to Switch 2.

Mario Kart is $80, they are 2 completely different games and value is subjective so don't know where we're doing here....

Super obvious this was going to happen. Sony will be next, GTA 6 is going to be at the very least $80, big third parties will follow as well, at least on their premiere franchises. If you thought this was some "greed" exclusive to Nintendo, you were kidding yourself lol.

Crazy that the Switch is 8 years old, Switch 2 comes out in less than 2 months and Switch is still outselling the PS5.

Never understood the hate for the Switch(and now Switch 2) from Steam Deck fans. Both have co-existed just fine and will continue to co-exist when the Switch 2 comes out. I doubt the Steam deck would even exist without the Switch's success. Just bizarre behavior.

Great piece here. Price of the hardware itself is fine and I don't think people are giving it enough credit. I totally understand the complaints about Mario Kart pricing, but I think for what we're getting, $450 is a great price for the system itself.

He has a point. $80 is a tough pill to swallow, but man, Mario Kart is probably a top 3 franchise of all time for me(certainly top 5). So, while the price does suck, if I had to spend $80 on any game, a new Mario Kart would among the few. At the same time, I'm sure there's folks that will cave if GTA 6, the newest Call of Duty or the latest Playstation exclusive is $80. In a nutshell, value is subjective.

It's certainly up there. Mario Kart, Hitman, Cyberpunk, Yakuza and Street Fighter make it really, really good.

Company suggests you buy one of their cheaper products if you can't afford their more premium priced product. I don't think it's that deep.

Pretty sure a Sony exec. would say the same thing about the price of the PS5 Pro.

Looks amazing. The fact that the Switch 2, running on mobile tech is this close to the PS5 is really impressive. SF6 is definitely one of the launch games I'll be getting alongside MKW.

This game had a rough launch on other platforms, but definitely want to check it out on Switch 2.

Do not care. One of the many things I like about the Switch 1 is the minimalistic design of the UI.

Switch 2 was the better name. I personally wouldn't mind the Super Nintendo Switch name, but it would've been considered "confusing" to some. Switch 2 is a more direct name and tells you its a successor platform.

Incredible Direct software wise. Plenty of games to look forward to playing on Switch 2. $449 was expected and not that bad.

Mario Kart being $80/90 will be a tough pill to swallow. Really hope that's for only Mario Kart. Which, so far that seems to be the case(DK will be $70).

People have underestimated the power of the Switch for its entire lifespan. Playing Prime 1 remastered, this running on Switch doesn't surprise me at all.

Wow, Nintendo basically having their own E3 in early April, love to see it.

Sounds great. Gives them plenty of time to showcase hardware and any new features for the system as well as software. Can't wait.

Smart mindset to have. Not even some of these big Western games that are crashing and burning are appealing to the Western audience. Why would Japanese devs want to take much inspiration from them?

I literally want all the above on that poll, lol. Top 3 though would be a new 3D Mario, Star Fox and Elden Ring port. I'm expecting a new 3D Mario and ER port, a new SF is more unlikely but would love that.

It's gonna be a very popular device, even more so if Mario Kart is a launch title, so yeah nothing surprising about this.

Sony releasing Lego Horizon on Switch last November, Freedom wars earlier this year and now Patapon and Everybody loves Golf? Yeah, looks like Switch and Switch 2 will get plenty more Playstation IPs, even if it's just their smaller ones(which I'd be fine with, those are my favorites anyway). Would love to see the Gravity Rush, Ape Escape and Sly games come over to Nintendo next.

Not stupid or weird this is happening... Switch was always going to get games past Switch 2. Just like how PS4 is still getting games this year.

But yeah, as always not expecting anything specific, just here for games in general.

Another game that sounds cool on paper, but knowing WB, they would've botched it in numerous ways, as they did with Multiversus.
