That's what you get by focusing your efforts on making and selling overall quality games and while here are of course mentioned only the biggest sellers Capcom also have relatively smaller games from time to time (just look at Pragmata recently and in general their collections etc.) and so good quantity as well unlike other big companies - hope they keep on doing that and wish them the best!
Love to hear Resident Evil sold that much (and also all the other series mentioned although I have my fingers crossed they'll sell even more) - looking forward to giving it at least a try myself at some point, starting with 4 on Switch!
Makes sense that it took some time and regardless, glad cross-play is now here - not sure if or how much I'll use that myself, but I'm definitely looking forward to playing Absolum myself in general when I can (fingers crossed there will be an upgrade for those who got the Switch version, me included)!
If available also here in Italy or at least Europe in general I'm definitely interested in the standard edition myself (and also Pokécology of course) - regardless, this is so cool, happy for those going for either version!
Really unfortunate to hear and even more so considering their work on those Metroid games (didn't know they developed also Lords of Shadow, nice) - as always wish the best to those affected!
Yet another thing to add to the list of Nintendo's overprotectiveness of their IPs (imagine if Nintendo themselves got a cease and desist for using the Hōjō emblem/Sierpiński triangle/whatever other usage before for the Triforce) - anyway, glad to hear about Rhodes's love of gaming in general and in particular Zelda!
@MADLUDWIG11 From the very start the Mario Kart World bundle was announced to have "limited time production" and apparently there's even an internal GameStop memo confirming that has happened (most if not all those articles here on Nintendo Life are about the US, but this one is also about that specific region anyway) - of course that doesn't mean it would immediately disappear from shelves assuming it applies to Canada, too.
Always nice when there are such bundles so that people can choose their preferred game (and by the way, look at Mario Kart World being back in a bundle although in a different way) - hope even more will get and enjoy Switch 2 and the games on it starting with one of these thanks to this offer!
Really well put and love to see it - fingers crossed other attempts won't go through either as again, I have serious doubts this would benefit eBay (including the "millions of buyers and sellers around the world" in addition of course to the company etc. as mentioned in this very letter)!
Thanks for the review, will most likely still give this at least a try at some point (even more so considering that other reviews found it better as already mentioned here) - of course it appeals to me on paper, we'll see how much I end up enjoying it in practice!
Thanks for the review, so glad to have further confirmation that this is yet another great port on Switch 2 - looking forward to finally playing this myself thanks to that (preordered a physical copy and I'll play it when I can) and of course happy for others going for this version, too!
Why wouldn't they do it considering that the lawsuit hasn't concluded yet and it's far from guaranteed that Nintendo will win as mentioned in the article itself (and I really hope so for the sake of everyone, game mechanic patents shouldn't be a thing, period)?
Anyway, glad to hear Palworld is supposed to leave early access later this year - hope those playing it will keep on enjoying it!
So glad this is finally coming after such a long time (once more why I much prefer when Nintendo usually announces products closer to their release dates) - will definitely try to get it myself!
Nice that they've mentioned also ROB - don't mind most of the designs if not straight up like them and regardless, so looking forward to this game (again, fingers crossed it actually is just the beginning of the Star Fox revival and we'll get also a new game on Switch 2, hopefully sooner rather than later)!
So glad that if anything had to be cancelled it's the "Super Game" we didn't even know the title of and not any of these other games - so looking forward to several of them personally (and even more after seeing how most of the games they've already released also mentioned here turned out to be)!
It's unfortunate when games get cancelled, but at the same time we've never actually seen this one, not even its title - again, this is exactly why I much prefer Nintendo's usual approach of not revealing games until they're practically ready to come out (even more so after they risked having to do so after development issues with one of their few exceptions, Prime 4 although in that case we knew what game it was from the start unlike this)!
Glad others have already mentioned that Nintendo have to say this no matter if further price changes happen or not - fingers crossed the situation will improve for the sake of both Nintendo and us customers!
@Game_n_Watch_it_pal That part in the original Japanese text is いわゆる大型タイトルかどうかにかかわらず iwayuru oogata taitoru ka dou ka ni kakawarazu and yep, the translation is pretty accurate (the only difference being that "major" is literally "large-sized") - by the way, couldn't agree more with you!
Copy-pasting the facts I've already mentioned before someone else yet again disregards them...
According to Nintendo Life's database, during the first year of Switch 2 Nintendo released or is about to do so in Yoshi's case on the system:
Mario Kart World, Welcome Tour, Bananza, Drag x Drive, Age of Imprisonment, Air Riders, Tennis Fever, Pokopia and Yoshi so 9 games exclusive to Switch 2;
in addition to those there are Legends Z-A and Prime 4 which came out on both systems at the same time;
the remaining Switch 2 Editions are Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, Jamboree, Forgotten Land, New Horizons, Xenoblade and Wonder so 7.
That's almost 1 game per month which wasn't already on Switch counting also Legends Z-A and Prime 4 since they're day-and-date releases (not to mention Switch titles like the Galaxy bundle and especially Tomodachi Life, Nintendo Classics apps etc.) - this is the same strategy that Nintendo has had throughout the Switch generation and that worked so well for them, there's no good reason for them to stop doing that now and certainly not just because some people lack patience!
Wish them the best in general and in particular with shifting to self-publishing the sequel - fingers crossed for the original (and eventually the abovementioned sequel as well) coming also to Switch 2 at some point as part of that "further platform expansion"!
Most likely for the best as it could cause confusion with "My Nintendo" (now that I think of it, maybe it's according to feedback since some time ago there was a survey about the store in general?) - anyway, glad it's just a name change!
At the very least this time there are factual reasons behind it and not just speculation although I can't help but feel that investors keep on "reacting" exclusively to the latest occurrence while ignoring the bigger picture - as already mentioned in the article, even just the fact that Winds & Waves are coming next year practically guarantees higher sales then (it's Pokémon and it has already been proven even specifically on Switch 2 to an extent by Legends Z-A first and then Pokopia which I had no doubt would be a success also for that reason while somehow investors had no clue)!
@ElusiveBounty Of course people getting second hand copies would also contribute to that (although again we don't know to what extent) - anyway, thanks for telling me!
Wonder if Pragmata's situation is at least in part due to being undersupplied à la Pokopia, have heard several here on Nintendo Life saying that they couldn't find physical copies (not sure if that applies also to the UK and to what extent, though) - anyway, so glad for Tomodachi Life! Also personally happy for Pokopia in 3rd, Cyberpunk in 4th, World in 5th, Requiem in 7th, Legends Z-A in 8th, Galaxy in 9th, Armored Core VI back to the top 10 if barely, New Horizons in 12th, Wonder in 13th, Bananza in 15th, 8 Deluxe in 17th etc.!
@Tyranexx Yep, the new games will be announced and come whenever they're ready and in the meantime there are so many ones already out that it's practically impossible to not find something for you while waiting for the former (shoutout to both the articles and comments here on Nintendo Life for highlighting also titles that you might not hear of otherwise) - ha ha yeah, RPGs in particular have also that effect!
@Glassneedles Only watched it later and yeah, definitely not worth walking up in the middle of the night considering all that (better in my case considering that I know Japanese, but I wouldn't have done that regardless) - fingers crossed this one will be better when it comes to announcements also outside of Japan and hopefully at a more convenient time, too!
So around 1.52 millions Living the Dream players are Switch 2 owners, nice (obviously me included) - as already mentioned here, fingers crossed for a Switch 2 Edition implementing mouse mode first and foremost etc.!
Japan for me because it shows also the yarn balls which are the fundamental collectibles of this game (the story even revolves around them) - that said, I quite appreciate also the artwork of the other boxarts, slightly more Europe than North America as while smaller I like that Bubsy jumps out of the border!
Just cosmetics which is one of my favorite usages of amiibo (my absolute favorite one is earlier unlocks so that those who don't have them can still get the rewards) - would be great if we got amiibo of more Star Fox characters, too!
By the way, it's exactly to avoid situations à la Dragon Quest XII that Nintendo don't announce their games until they're practically ready to come out (and even more so after what happened with Prime 4 due to its development issues) and yet look at how many complain about them not announcing even more games right now - damned if you do and damned if you don't...
Will try to watch the livestream myself if I can (also depending on time zones) - regardless, so glad they're doing such a thing for the 40th anniversary and even more so since they should be able to announce something about the next game!
@Darknyht According to Nintendo Life's database Nintendo released or is about to do so in Yoshi's case:
Mario Kart World, Welcome Tour, Bananza, Drag x Drive, Age of Imprisonment, Air Riders, Tennis Fever, Pokopia and Yoshi so 9 games exclusive to Switch 2;
in addition to those there are Legends Z-A and Prime 4 which came out on both systems at the same time;
the remaining Switch 2 Editions are Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, Jamboree, Forgotten Land, New Horizons, Xenoblade and Wonder so 7.
So not only objectively the "upscaled Switch Games" are not the majority even just considering the first category on its own, if you include among them Legends Z-A and Prime 4 (which I definitely do since they're date-and-date releases) it's 11 games on Switch 2 which hadn't come out on Switch before, almost one game per month - can we please stick to the facts instead of spreading misinformation by saying exaggerations?
Thanks for having such a list also here on Nintendo Life (already knew about DelistedGames.com) - it's worth mentioning that while unfortunately many games got delisted as can be seen here Switch is still on the relatively lower side when it comes to that (again, check out other platforms even just on DelistedGames.com) and even more so when you consider that it's luckily countered in part by physical releases...
That said, this is exactly why like it or not piracy remains the king of preservation and accessibility and when it comes to such cases I'm definitely not against it while I try to support as many of the still available official releases that interest me as possible!
As usual would prefer it if Nintendo regularly released such demos also on the eShop (doesn't necessarily have to be in contrast, just release these in-store ones first and then digitally) so that people all over the world could play them - anyway, happy for those in North America who'll give this Yoshi game a try thanks to this!
Yeah, so much for the different prices between digital and physical being a "disguised" increase as some claimed (as already proven by how it has been elsewhere including here in Europe for a while, but of course those people don't care about facts for one reason or another, including negativity selling) - anyway, so glad for those in the US interested in this, Yoshi and/or Raiders!
Why not wait for the next Direct, most likely in June, to announce the rest of the games for the rest of the year?
Not to mention as others have luckily already said the Star Fox Direct has just happened and so many have watched it, the lower prices for several games in general and finally the distinction between digital and physical for those also in the US, all the releases already on Switch 2 from both third parties and Nintendo who keep on having 1 or more releases per month and for the most part exclusively on it instead of also on the previous system unlike Sony and Microsoft and so on...
Considering all that and the quote here in the comments that "[t]he (new) pricing does not fully account for all cost increases" so they're absorbing it themselves in part, them warning people in advance about the increase and so giving time to get the system at a lower price (again unlike Sony which by the way had already increased all their hardware prices before) etc. they are genuinely trying to counter it and I'd say they'll be able to do so if they continue like this!
In the end I voted for Tomodachi Life instead of Mario Kart World in the poll (can't change the italics in my original comment because of its length) considering that I'll play it not only on my own everyday as usual, but also more on stream tomorrow - by the way, today I'm playing Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac first and foremost to hopefully complete the DLC and so finish playing the game in general to then start Pragmata!
Tonight I'm not seeing my friends (last time we played various board games) so I'll just continue with my schedule:
Fitness Boxing (3, did a workout; 3 did 4 Box-and-Bond for Lin - FotNS did Battle Mode);
Ring Fit Adventure (didn't play it; 9 Worlds completed and 4 finished);
GameCenter CX (continued the 8th game);
Freedom Planet 2 (didn't play it; Story as Lilac and Carol - 25/63 Badges);
Dragon Quest III (defeated that in less turns and so unlocked and then did the last arenas; game finished, all Medals, Monsters, Dungeons and Arenas);
Legends Arceus (continued going around to catch all Pokémon - also did 3 requests; 26/27 Missions and 101/122 Requests - Pokédex 241 Seen, 240 Caught and 143 Max Research);
Xenoblade Chronicles X (did an affinity mission; 7/?? Chapters, 24/?? Affinity, 64/?? Normal, 67/?? Basic Missions and 60/?? Heart-to-Hearts - Mira 30.54% - 104/204 Story, 48/315 Combat and 78/222 World Achievements);
Guardians of Azuma (started the next story area - also did many bonding quests; 152/?? Main, 165/?? Bonding Quests - 102/?? Bestiary - 16/45 PescaPedia - all Kamiwaza, 31/36 Quests, 5/6 Battles, 2/16 Bonds and 6/8 Everyday Life Seals);
Fantasy Life i (did some requests, many Life quests and so ranked up the Artist Life; 6 Chapters - Lives 5 Master and 9 Expert Rank - 91 Personal Requests - all Strangelings, 91/148 Monsters, 88/138 Resources, 49/50 Characters);
Mario Kart World (did a Knockout Tour; Mirror Three Stars all GPs, 1 KT - 26 Panels, 64 Switches and 15 Medallions in Free Roam - all Vehicles, 111 Characters and 301 Stickers);
Soul Calibur II (did Arcade as 1 character; Arcade as 5 characters - Weapon Master completed except for an extra mission);
Street Fighter 6 (did some sidequests in World Tour; World Tour 10 Chapters and 31 Sidequests);
Bananza (completed SL 601, 602 and 700 - also continued Emerald Rush; game finished, 6 layers completed - 643/777 Banandium Gems, 582/696 Fossils, 109/117 Discs - VoidCo 13 Rewards);
Pac-Man World 2 (finished 1 level of the DLC);
Age of Imprisonment (did 3 aside quests and 1 battle - also did many quests; 4 Chapters, 21 Battles, 109 Aside Quests and 223 Quests);
Persona 3 Reload (still 5/24, Tartarus up to 43F; 3 Charm, Courage and Academics - 1 Rank 5, 1 Rank 4, 4 Rank 3, 2 Rank 2, 1 Rank 1 Social Links - 12% Compendium - 15 Elizabeth's Requests);
Trails in the Sky 1st (went around Bose and did 2 requests; Junior Rank 7 18/40, 14/?? Requests - Rewards 38/??, Achievements 6/43 - Recipe Standard 1/28 and Specialty 1/30);
Yeah, would've been surprised if it kept on working for much longer, especially after all the publicity - fingers crossed the actual YouTube app comes also to Switch 2 for those interested in it sooner rather than later (why some immediately assume it's Nintendo's fault when it's way more likely that it's mostly if not exclusively YouTube's also considering what others here mentioned about them?)!
Love to see such third-party support, both in general and personally (so many games I'd like to play myself, in fact I've already preordered several of these and in the case of Pragmata my copy has already arrived of course) - more likely than not that will be the case but still, fingers crossed it continues!
Are we seriously comparing Switch 2 to Wii U yet again when the former has already sold more than the latter in less than a year and how many games it has already got, both by Nintendo and third-parties, and their sales in their own and even more so in comparison to the latter's, again in less than a year?
Leaving that aside, what Furukawa-san said makes sense and would actually be another way to counter the price increases - of course it all depends on the games on the system, but if the first year of Switch 2 which is practically the same as how it went for Switch throughout its life cycle (in terms of both sales and frequency of game releases as abovementioned) is any indication then I'd say it's way more likely than not!
@Hwatt Don't know much about those sections in RE7 myself but yeah, based on everything I've seen and heard of Requiem it makes sense - thanks for telling me!
Thanks for the review, overall looking forward to giving this a try at some point even more than I was based on what's mentioned here (getting a digital copy for sure as I've supported the game on Kickstarter)!
Showing the prologue at the end of the Direct was really nice and I'm glad they've now uploaded it separately, too - looking forward to the upcoming Star Fox in general, absolutely including more cutscenes like this one!
The forecast for the next year is still quite high despite the price increase (caused by issues affecting everyone, not just them), they have 1 or more exclusives per month as usual and that's without having announced their games for the rest of the year including their holiday titles yet etc. - yeah no, like others here have already mentioned "silent" is definitely not the term I'd use...
Love to hear that both gyro and mouse controls are included - yet another thing that makes this seem like an overall great port and regardless, I'm so looking forward to being able to play The Great Circle myself when my copy arrives and then I have the time for it (and of course glad for others going for it, too)!
@somnambulance I'd say 74% of people who have a Switch 2 getting Mario Kart World and almost 20 million units of the system is nothing to sneeze at and this is the result Nintendo got by following such a strategy - again, that "bigger nudge" will eventually come, but there's no good reason to not wait for the next holiday season to release it (and I wouldn't be surprised if they announced it in a Direct this June as by then a year since the Switch 2 launch will actually have passed, not to mention that if it's a new Mario then it makes no sense to do so now and risk hurting the sales of the upcoming Yoshi game)...

That said, this is exactly why like it or not piracy remains the king of preservation and accessibility and when it comes to such cases I'm definitely not against it while I try to support as many of the still available official releases that interest me as possible!
Re: Try Yoshi And The Mysterious Book Early With An In-Store Demo (North America)
Re: PSA: You Can Get Star Fox's Switch 2 Physical Release For Just $50 (US)
Yeah, so much for the different prices between digital and physical being a "disguised" increase as some claimed (as already proven by how it has been elsewhere including here in Europe for a while, but of course those people don't care about facts for one reason or another, including negativity selling) - anyway, so glad for those in the US interested in this, Yoshi and/or Raiders!
Re: Nintendo To Counter Switch 2's Global Price Hikes With Robust Software Lineup
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (9th May)
In the end I voted for Tomodachi Life instead of Mario Kart World in the poll (can't change the italics in my original comment because of its length) considering that I'll play it not only on my own everyday as usual, but also more on stream tomorrow - by the way, today I'm playing Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac first and foremost to hopefully complete the DLC and so finish playing the game in general to then start Pragmata!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (9th May)
Tonight I'm not seeing my friends (last time we played various board games) so I'll just continue with my schedule:
Re: If You're Trying To Watch YouTube On Switch 2, You'll Now Get An Error Code
Yeah, would've been surprised if it kept on working for much longer, especially after all the publicity - fingers crossed the actual YouTube app comes also to Switch 2 for those interested in it sooner rather than later (why some immediately assume it's Nintendo's fault when it's way more likely that it's mostly if not exclusively YouTube's also considering what others here mentioned about them?)!
Re: Nintendo Highlights Multiple Major Third-Party Releases For Switch 2 In 2026
Love to see such third-party support, both in general and personally (so many games I'd like to play myself, in fact I've already preordered several of these and in the case of Pragmata my copy has already arrived of course) - more likely than not that will be the case but still, fingers crossed it continues!
Re: Nintendo's President Apparently Wants Switch 2 To Match The Long Lifespan Of The Original System
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Update Adds New Minigame Mode 'Leon Must Die Forever'
@Hwatt Don't know much about those sections in RE7 myself but yeah, based on everything I've seen and heard of Requiem it makes sense - thanks for telling me!
Re: Review: Outbound (Switch 2) – A Cosy, Crafty, Open-World Driving Sim
Thanks for the review, overall looking forward to giving this a try at some point even more than I was based on what's mentioned here (getting a digital copy for sure as I've supported the game on Kickstarter)!
Re: Video: Star Fox Gives James McCloud The Spotlight In His Own Prologue
Showing the prologue at the end of the Direct was really nice and I'm glad they've now uploaded it separately, too - looking forward to the upcoming Star Fox in general, absolutely including more cutscenes like this one!
Re: Analyst Predicts A "Silent" Year Ahead For Nintendo
The forecast for the next year is still quite high despite the price increase (caused by issues affecting everyone, not just them), they have 1 or more exclusives per month as usual and that's without having announced their games for the rest of the year including their holiday titles yet etc. - yeah no, like others here have already mentioned "silent" is definitely not the term I'd use...
Re: ICYMI: Indiana Jones On Switch 2 Will Support Mouse & Gyro Controls
Love to hear that both gyro and mouse controls are included - yet another thing that makes this seem like an overall great port and regardless, I'm so looking forward to being able to play The Great Circle myself when my copy arrives and then I have the time for it (and of course glad for others going for it, too)!
Re: Switch 2 Has Sold Just Shy Of 20 Million Units, Nintendo Lowers FY27 Forecast
