@Olliemar28 Sorry, but based on what I've seen and heard I respectfully disagree - of course your mileage may vary (also depending on your tolerance of the objective issues mentioned in the review, thanks for mentioning those) and that's exactly why I recommend people to judge it themselves by checking comparisons and I've shared some of them... other than of course hearing others' opinions about the gameplay and contents as many even just here on Nintendo Life not to mention elsewhere really enjoyed those overall unlike you!
I recommend checking out comparisons and judging by yourself because I'm sorry, say what you want about the lack of an upgrade, but based on what I've seen the game itself is overall quite the improvement compared to the Switch version (not to mention of course the gameplay and contents as many really enjoyed those) - here are two screenshots of the Switch and Switch 2 Quality mode versions respectively from reddit and GameXplain's comparison for example:
And with that Switch 2 sold over 100k units (to be precise 107,038) in four weeks so practically a month even after the price increase while the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition always in 2nd around 28K (27,892) - yeah, Switch 2 is still selling really well despite that, not to mention that this are the results during the summer and before the next major Nintendo release... Anyway, happy to see Tomodachi Life back on top, Powerful Pro Baseball in 2nd, Elliot debuting in 3rd and 4th (nice that it sold more on Switch 2), Pokopia in 5th, eFootball in 6th, World in 7th, Yoshi in 9th and Air Riders in 10th!
Yet another reminder of the positive impact videogames can have on lives (in my case first and foremost I wouldn't have recovered sight in my left eye hadn't it been for them not to mention them becoming a lifetime passion for me, too) - great article and glad the N64 and Ocarina meant so much for your parents, Jim!
My physical copy of Star Fox arrived earlier today, already have Deltarune and soon both Prince of Persia games (physically, have already played Lost Crown and I ordered Rogue today as it was discounted on Italian Amazon), will eventually get Devil May Cry 5 and Citizen Sleeper for sure and that should be it!
Thanks for the review, overall even more interested in giving this a try at some point - it's so cool to see all these new great graphic adventure games coming out nowadays (and also some classic ones although it would be nice if more of those came back)!
As usual I'd rather the game being better from the get-go for the full release (and even more so since there's feedback from the Steam Early Access) - regardless, looking forward to getting my digital copy as I've supported it on Kickstarter when it comes out!
Even more baffling now that they've just announced a Switch 2 Edition of Hinokami Chronicles 2 despite Sega's involvement (guess we have to thank Aniplex for that) other than of course CrossWorlds as already mentioned here - glad about the save transfer unlike Dragon Quest 11, but how I wish there were an upgrade and so practically everyone would be happy... ironically including Sega themselves as they're definitely losing sales of this and potentially also future games this way just for bigger profits in the short term!
Nice that the Japanese VA of Fox is the same as the Galaxy movie one (funnily enough I've already got to hear him in both thanks to watching the Japanese Star Fox Direct on stream) - personally I'm more curious about the Japanese VAs since I'll play with those voices myself, but glad for the English ones listed here!
The Tetris 99 events don't stop coming and I love to see it (hope those taking part in this one will enjoy it) - also glad to see Star Fox icons, absolutely getting those myself!
Glad to hear they're already aware of and so working on fixing these bugs - anyway, happy that Chapter 5 is out now for those interested in it (me included whenever I finally start playing Deltarune myself)!
Makes sense that they aren't doing so right now, but please Square Enix port also this (and honestly all the remaining Final Fantasy games) to Switch 2 for those interested in it - absolutely me included, but even if I weren't I'd still love to see it happen!
Nice that this is getting a Switch 2 Edition (and so yeah, an upgrade pack is automatically confirmed as well), would be great if it came out at the same time also outside of Japan - anyway, happy for those going for it, potentially me included although I should properly read/watch Demon Slayer first... or at the very least play the previous game before this one!
Good for both Nintendo as the company and their workers (and yes, even nicer considering the unfortunately way too many other companies closing studios and laying employees off), fingers crossed the construction will go smoothly - of course good also for us fans as already mentioned in the article considering they're investing in research and development, looking forward to seeing all the software and hardware they'll come up with in the future!
Great idea for another article to celeberate the 30th anniversary of the N64, in particular I quite appreciated the mentions of the games that unfortunately got cancelled (although it's fun to imagine how the other potential games mentioned could've been as well - speaking of, voting for Super Mario 64 2 in the poll)!
Glad to see more finally acknowledging that Game-Key Cards are objectively better than games being exclusively digital, including code-in-a-box (although even that is better than games-as-a-service including cloud games) - that said, I wouldn't be surprised if there were still less clamoring compared to GKC and even leaving that aside, GTA 6 will most certainly sell like crazy regardless... which on the one hand is good as games and especially their creators are what matter the most and even more so considering the current situation of even just the gaming industry, but on the other hand it will show the hypocrisy of it all as the complaining ever since the start of the Switch 2 gen has been absolutely ridiculous, especially when unfortunately way too many other companies do much worse as further proven by this!
Nice that 8BitDo have further improved their Arcade Controller - hope those going for it whenever it comes out will enjoy it (if I ever get such a controller myself I'll most likely go for one of 8BitDo's offerings considering their features)!
Simple but great idea on paper and luckily absolutely adorable indeed also in practice at least based on what they've shown - was already looking forward to the next TCG Pocket expansion, but even more so considering this!
@N00BiSH ... At this point I really hope the leaks are fully correct also to prove all these claims here wrong - Nintendo could've very well been working on both a remake and a new game but again, even leaving that aside releasing the former before the latter has objectively worked well for them so far (not just when it comes to sales, you completely ignored the external developers factor)!
@N00BiSH And that's why there's also the second point to consider - even leaving that aside again, why should Nintendo and co. not keep on doing what has worked for both them and the general public as shown by the sales (for example look at how much Link's Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom have sold based on the data so far, 6.63 and 4.09 million units respectively)?
Not so sure "the original still holds up very well" for those who have never played Star Fox 64 or any game in the series (and as Jim mentioned again in his review today, replaying Star Fox 64 convinced him that the Switch 2 remake is a good idea, personally I had no doubt about that) - leaving that aside, the game in itself seems better than ever according to most which is great news for those interested in it, absolutely me included as I'm just waiting for my copy to arrive to play it myself!
@PessitheMystic Not only it's more logical to rerelease previous games/your best game in a series before a completely new one after such a long time (others here and before have already mentioned how many years have passed since the original Star Fox 64 and even the 3DS version), but there's also the matter of it being way less risky to make external developers work on remasters/remakes before new ones like in the case of Grezzo and MercurySteam - regardless of personal opinions, it has objectively worked well for Nintendo and co. so there's no good reason to not continue like that...
@ShadLink And let's not forget Samus Returns leading to Dread - in addition to the straight up facts of what Nintendo did in the past, there's also the elephant in the room of the leaks, especially the one by malo932 if the rest of what they mentioned is correct (the "classic Starfox", "oot remake" and "nintendo switch sports" have already been officially announced and so confirmed)...
Thanks for the review, definitely won't say no to more Star Fox 64 goodness but better than ever - so looking forward to playing it myself as soon as my copy arrives... and again, even if it didn't interest me personally it's clearly for the sake of those who have never played that or any Star Fox games first and foremost and so I'd be happy for them anyway (also, fingers crossed this along with Fox in the Galaxy movie will finally bring back the series for good and so we'll get a completely new game next time)!
Yeah, I'd rather them take their time so that it's better from the get-go and even more so considering what happened with World of Assassination as mentioned also by the article - anyway, glad to hear the development of the Switch 2 version is "going great", looking forward to it whenever it comes out!
Really hope more (and more recent) Tekken games will eventually come to Switch 1 and/or 2 - that said, glad we're finally getting at least one on the system and it's cool that the original is getting rereleased on contemporary platforms in general, thanks Hamster as usual!
Still not interested in this kind of product myself (I'll gladly stick to my portable monitor at home and the Switch 2 screen anywhere), but glad for those who are - the Batman eye shade is hilarious!
Quite interesting, apart from the obvious games on top (still glad to have further confirmation about those, though) there are some surprises here - anyway, great way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the N64, thanks Circana!
Personally, I'll stick to my copy of Origins (haven't played it yet though) - that said, happy for those interested in any of these, it's a pretty cool idea!
Already have all these games (mostly physically, think only Mania I still have only digitally), but cool for those who don't - that said, the modern collection isn't the best idea if you have Switch 2 considering the Definitive Edition of Frontiers mentioned also by the article... and at first I really hoped that we were getting collections of games not yet on Switch 1 and/or 2, please Sega rerelease those in some way or the other!
Classic Sonic was practically inevitable for the anniversary, but I'll gladly take him - that said, way more excited for the other announced free characters (especially Samba De Amigo for me since I've played Sonic spin-offs that included him back in the day and now also Party Central and speaking of games I've played, nice to see Rhythm Thief representation even just as music tracks)!
So as some predicted the question mark was Classic Sonic (although as I expected there will be a festival, they simply didn't announce it in advance to keep the surprise and unless I straight up can't I'm taking part in it on stream as usual) - of course glad to hear about all these other additions, too!
Kudos to Inti Creates for rereleasing all these games as Switch 2 Editions and so also as upgrades for those who already have them - not me included in this case so I'll straight up go for the Switch 2 versions (I'll consider importing the physical copies if they get released only in Japan), but I'm so happy for others!
That said again, CrossWorlds is one of the games failing to meet sales expectations despite getting a fully physical release (later yes, but at this point it has been out for months) - considering also how much other games sell regardless of them being Game-Key Cards as shown by the weekly charts etc., clearly what the silent majority cares about first and foremost is the games themselves...
Not surprised they shadowdropped it considering the ratings and even more so copies already circulating - while I feel for those who got the Switch version (me included although luckily quite discounted so I'll consider getting this at some point) let's not forget all those who don't so I'm still happy this came out... how I wish Sega released it also as an upgrade and so practically everyone would be happy, though!
Good to hear Frontiers and all the other games listed in the image sold that much - looking forward to hearing more about the Definitive edition whenever they announce it and hope those going for it will enjoy it (potentially me included, but it depends on its contents since I've already got the Switch version although luckily pretty discounted back in the day and yes, got and in that case also played Superstars)!
Pretty interesting to hear this experience of yours with the N64 - never had to carry the console around myself as luckily friends also had it or they came to my house to play (as much as I can see where you're coming from about "consoles and games as very physical artefacts" I'm so glad Switch 1 and 2 are portable)!
What a cool way to celebrate the N64 anniversary (my favorite detail is the arrow buttons as the C ones) - that said, I doubt I'll go for either myself, but hope we'll hear the details sooner rather than later for those who'd like to do so!
Thanks for the review, was already curious about this game but now I know for sure that I'll play it myself at some point - considering that I'm really glad it's now also on Switch 2 (would be great if they could improve this version through patches, though)!
Will have to remember to check this and future ones out when I can - anyway, it's such a neat additional way to promote Raiders and speaking of, looking forward to that in around a month (it will be the first time I properly play Splatoon, so far I've only played a little of the original Wii U one)!
Happy 30th Anniversary N64 and nice to see all these memories about it - I was late for it and honestly it's better that way to leave the space in the article for others since I've already shared several of mine in previous comment sections but still, here are those again plus some I might not have mentioned yet for those interested:
the N64 is the first console my parents got also for me, not just my older siblings (we already had the NES, SNES, even a Master System not to mention a PC at home);
I couldn't finish Banjo-Kazooie because I had played at a neighbor/friend's house an almost complete save file so when I got to the part where you have to rise the water I looked for it mostly there other than somehow just not spotting the path near Mad Monster Mansion or not opening that gate;
speaking of, at that house I got to watch also games that I didn't get as a kid like Ocarina of Time (eventually got the GameCube version thanks to the Wind Waker bonus disc) and a cartridge adapter for an import copy of Pokémon Stadium 2 - got that in Italian myself while for some reason I got the first game in Spanish, of course that worked without needing an adapter;
I almost skipped Paper Mario 64, a game that would then become a favorite of mine, due to the term "paper" which I thought was related to Italian papero, i.e. duck, as I didn't know English at the time - for that same reason I played that in French and Spanish at the time as Italian was missing;
Mario Tennis I was forced to skip because a shop had it in their window, but somehow it wasn't for sale;
I wanted Mario Party 3 after playing 2, but I got the first game instead as I was tricked by the box art, in particular the number on the Dice Block (and I guess 3 wasn't available at the shop anyway, but still) - luckily later I got 3, too!
This I've at least heard of although I haven't seen it before watching the trailer here, it's a fun idea - anyway, glad it's coming also to Switch for those interested in it (wouldn't mind giving it a try myself at some point, but definitely not anytime soon)!
I'd wait to hear how it is in practice, but on paper it's a pretty cool dock - hope for the best for those going for it, not me included as I don't need it at least for now (assuming it will be available also here in Italy in the first place)!
Haven't even just heard of this before, looks great and I'm glad it's now coming also to consoles including Switch - happy for those interested in it, potentially me included at some point!
Reminder that the Switch 2 version of CrossWorlds has been out for months at this point and it's not a Game-Key Card - that version not being ready at launch didn't help, but it clearly isn't on its own the reason why the game failed to meet sales expectations and also I can't help but wonder if many of those incessantly complaining about GKC aren't putting their money where their mouths are (and even leaving that aside, it certainly doesn't help getting fully physical games that people have been complaining about the starting prices of fully physical games, especially Nintendo's but also other ones now including CrossWorlds, ever since the start of the Switch 2 gen)...
Yeah they're definitely announcing it during these 35th anniversary livestreams - good for those interested in it (potentially me included although it depends on its contents compared to the Switch version, would be great if there were an upgrade although I doubt it) and looking forward to seeing what else they have in store for us!
Considering it's coming out next week I'll most likely just wait for my copy of the full release to arrive - that said, glad this is getting a demo for those who'd like to try it before potentially getting the game (personally I've already preordered it as I've been waiting all this time for a Rhythm Heaven on Switch to finally play this series myself)!

Thanks for the review, was already curious about this game but now I know for sure that I'll play it myself at some point - considering that I'm really glad it's now also on Switch 2 (would be great if they could improve this version through patches, though)!
Re: PSA: Splatoon Raiders' Daily Prologue Comics Start Rolling Out Today
Will have to remember to check this and future ones out when I can - anyway, it's such a neat additional way to promote Raiders and speaking of, looking forward to that in around a month (it will be the first time I properly play Splatoon, so far I've only played a little of the original Wii U one)!
Re: Community: "All-Consuming, Joyous, Heartbreaking" - Your Nintendo 64 Memories
Happy 30th Anniversary N64 and nice to see all these memories about it - I was late for it and honestly it's better that way to leave the space in the article for others since I've already shared several of mine in previous comment sections but still, here are those again plus some I might not have mentioned yet for those interested:
Re: LittleBigPlanet Programmer's Mythological Puzzler Lines Up Switch Release Date
This I've at least heard of although I haven't seen it before watching the trailer here, it's a fun idea - anyway, glad it's coming also to Switch for those interested in it (wouldn't mind giving it a try myself at some point, but definitely not anytime soon)!
Re: JSAUX's New 6-In-1 Switch 2 Dock Is... A Lot
I'd wait to hear how it is in practice, but on paper it's a pretty cool dock - hope for the best for those going for it, not me included as I don't need it at least for now (assuming it will be available also here in Italy in the first place)!
Re: Exclusive: Fable Dev's Beloved Life Sim 'Kynseed' Blooms On Consoles This August
Haven't even just heard of this before, looks great and I'm glad it's now coming also to consoles including Switch - happy for those interested in it, potentially me included at some point!
Re: Sonic Frontiers "Definitive Edition" Has Been Rated For Switch 2 (Again)
Re: Sonic Frontiers "Definitive Edition" Has Been Rated For Switch 2 (Again)
Yeah they're definitely announcing it during these 35th anniversary livestreams - good for those interested in it (potentially me included although it depends on its contents compared to the Switch version, would be great if there were an upgrade although I doubt it) and looking forward to seeing what else they have in store for us!
Re: PSA: Rhythm Heaven Groove "Starter Demo" Now Available On Switch
Considering it's coming out next week I'll most likely just wait for my copy of the full release to arrive - that said, glad this is getting a demo for those who'd like to try it before potentially getting the game (personally I've already preordered it as I've been waiting all this time for a Rhythm Heaven on Switch to finally play this series myself)!
