As much as I'm looking forward to playing all of these myself, most likely my favorite will end up being The Disney Afternoon Collection (waiting for the physical release other than of course then having to find the time for it) - so glad it's finally also on Switch 1 and 2 and better than ever!
Interested in most of the highlighted games and also several of those in the "more" section - in fact, I've already got the CrossWorlds and Xenoblade Chronicles X upgrades, will get the Wonder one as soon as it comes out, have already preordered from Italian Amazon Pokopia, Marvel Cosmic Invasion and most likely I'll do the same also when it comes to Tomodachi Life and Pragmata (maybe also Monster Hunter Stories 3, but I might wait since I'm not starting it anytime soon as I want to finally play the previous ones first and foremost)... hopefully even more, but that depends on their availability here in Italy!
Overall nice article, there are a couple of aspects that should be addressed though - for example the actual origin of Jynx which is Ganguro fashion, Victini being designed after the V sign first and foremost and the biggest one, the lack of Clefairy among the abandoned mascots when apparently "Pikachu replaced Pippi as the central character when the Pokémon TV series was introduced" (Pippi is Clefairy's Japanese name and by the way, it's also the protagonist of the oldest Pokémon manga)... and considering how big of a Pokémon fan I am as shown also by the abovementioned it's unsurprising that I haven't forgotten any of the mentioned Pokémon, but I absolutely agree that they deserve a second chance!
Thanks for the review, definitely interested in giving this a try myself at some point now that it's also on Switch 2 (and also Ridge Racer, but this one first considering its additional features) - regardless, so glad it has finally come also to home consoles after so many years!
Gen II for me, not only it started the box art legendaries trend, but also the shiny backgrounds are representative of the title of the games and really cool aesthetically, too - in addition to those fundamental aspects, it's also quite nostalgic for me as Silver was my first personal Pokémon game (we had Blue before it, but I shared it with my sister)!
Pretty cool (and also funny that the mocap happened thanks to a misunderstanding), happy for Kenny Omega - looking forward to Alex, first and foremost in World Tour since it's what I'm currently playing and his inclusion there is free, too!
Most likely not for me due to its difficulty, but I could still give this (and/or one of the games already on Switch) at least a try - regardless, nice that a new Super Meat Boy is coming and this time in 3D, happy for those interested in it!
Contents are what matter the most to me, not graphics, but I was still hoping for improvements when it comes to that aspect in itself and so that more could enjoy mainline Pokémon games, too (personally, I've overall loved Scarlet thanks to the former and despite the latter) - anyway, so looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this game, especially its contents as abovementioned, and most certainly playing it myself whenever it comes out next year!
@BrewsterTea I'd say a mix of the two would be for the best, downloads to let more people all over the world to access them (or already in the game like in this case, but for new games I doubt they'd be present from the start so if not Mystery Gift then they'd get added with updates and/or DLC), but not just giving the Pokémon and instead unlocking an in-game event/story to catch it - anyway, glad to hear you're excited as well and fingers crossed for the rerelease of the remaining GBA games, in particular Emerald for that reason!
Between these definitely Umbreon for me - not only it's my favorite, but also it's representative of the evolution mechanic in Pokémon, too (also the day and night cycle and friendship ever since gen 2, but that's partially besides the point)!
@fenlix One of the reasons as I've already mentioned - that said, it's a fact that both Legends Z-A and even more so Scarlet & Violet are significantly improved on Switch 2...
Thanks for the review, would've waited before getting this anyway (waiting for a discount, especially since it's digital only, and I don't have the time for it now), but even more so considering the cons mentioned although everything else sounds great so I'm even more interested in giving Fallout in general and 4 in particular a try when I can - fingers crossed they'll futher improve it through patches starting with the already announced DLSS one, hopefully adding mouse and/or gyro controls at some point etc.!
Nice that they sent you one of these, hope you and others going for it will enjoy it (not me included) - fingers crossed we'll see more and more special editions of Switch 2 controllers and also systems going forward!
Count me among those that care about the contents of games first and foremost, that's the reason why I'm considering getting Requiem myself at some point - that said, love to see games on Switch 2 being overall so impressive also when it comes to the technical aspects (when it comes to the graphics in particular the "major" drawback is the hair and personally I couldn't care less about that of all things although of course it would be great if that could be improved, too)!
Tonight I'm not seeing my friends so I'll just continue with my schedule of alternating between:
Fitness Boxing (FotNS, did one battle; 3 did 4 Box-and-Bond for Lin - FotNS did Battle Mode);
Ring Fit Adventure (did 2 levels of World 14; 9 Worlds completed and 4 finished);
GameCenter CX (didn't play it; first GameCenter CX and 7 Games of the second one completed, 2 finished);
Freedom Planet 2 (did 1 stage as Milla; Story as Lilac and Carol - 25/63 Badges);
Dragon Quest III (did the 20th dungeon; game finished, 20 Dungeons, 108 Mini Medals);
Legends Arceus (continued going around to catch all Pokémon; 26/27 Missions and 87/122 Requests completed - Pokédex 235 Seen, 225 Caught and 132 Max Research);
Xenoblade Chronicles X (did a couple of basic missions - also got some Heart-to-Hearts; 6/?? Chapters, 21/?? Affinity, 54/?? Normal, 54/?? Basic Missions and 48/?? Heart-to-Hearts - Mira 25.83% - 91/204 Story, 41/315 Combat and 68/222 World Achievements);
Guardians of Azuma (finished but didn't get everything in the new area - also did some bonding quests; 114/?? Main, 102/?? Bonding Quests - 88/?? Bestiary - 16/45 PescaPedia - all Kamiwaza, 23/36 Quests, 4/6 Battles, 2/16 Bonds and 6/8 Everyday Life Seals);
Fantasy Life i (advanced the story - also did several Life quests and so ranked up the Farmer Life and did 2 requests; 5 Chapters - Lives 1 Master 5 Expert and 8 Adept Rank - 57 Personal Requests - 81/148 Monsters, 70/138 Resources, 18/49 Strangelings, 18/50 Characters);
Mario Kart World (did a Grand Prix and slightly continued Free Roam; Mirror Three Stars 6 Grand Prix - 16 ? Panels, 36 P Switches and 10 Peach Medallions in Free Roam - 103 Characters, 40 Vehicles and 280 Stickers);
Soul Calibur II (started Extra Chapter 1 in Weapon Master; Arcade as 1 character - Weapon Master finished, 9 Chapters and 3 Sub-Chapters completed);
Street Fighter 6 (did a sidequest and so unlocked a new master in World Tour; World Tour 9 Chapters and 23 Sidequests);
Yakuza 0 (continued Chapter 11 and the business - also did a substory; 10 Chapters - 30.21% Completion, 24/79 Adventure, 37/84 Battle, 33/99 Business, 8/27 Substories, 11/85 Minigames);
Bananza (completed Sublayer 200 - also started Emerald Rush and at least tried the event; game finished, 2 layers completed - 560/777 Banandium Gems, 535/696 Fossils, 105/117 Discs - VoidCo 3 Rewards);
Pac-Man World 2 (completed 2 levels and so World 7; game finished, 7 Worlds, 27 Levels and 13 Mazes completed);
Age of Imprisonment (did 6 aside quests - also did many quests; 3 Chapters, 14 Battles, 54 Aside Quests and 115 Quests);
Persona 3 Reload (played up to 4/23 not included);
Trails in the Sky 1st (finished the currently available requests and arrived at the mine; Junior Bracer Rank 9 27/30, 6/?? Requests - Rewards 21/??, Achievements 2/43 - Standard Menu 1/28);
on YouTube Virtua Fighter 5 (did the training, played Arcade three times and tried a couple of ranked matches);
Mario Advance 2 (completed World 4 and started World 5; World 5 /59)!
Makes sense also based on the trailer and good since the hardware was absolutely one of the factors holding Legends Z-A and especially Scarlet & Violet back (just look at how improved both and especially the latter are on Switch 2) - anyway, so looking forward to seeing and hearing more about these games and then playing them myself next year!
@Glassneedles Jokes aside, it is a possibility and I absolutely agree that if we get more games it's more likely that they'll first and foremost continue with those on GBA and beyond also for the sake of HOME (would love also gen 1 and 2 at some point, though) - fingers crossed what you mentioned happens at some point!
Now this is a change I'm glad to see, have always wanted to visit these locations and catch these Pokémon myself but of course couldn't take part in the events where they got distributed back in the day - even more so considering this, I hope they'll release the remaining GBA mainline games (and obviously also previous and following ones as well, but that's besides the point) and in particular Emerald to finally get the Old Sea Map to access Faraway Island and get Mew!
And yet again people fail or refuse to realize that it matters to others including me not just because of what gets censored as in this case apart from it being stupid that someone genuinely called Dick can't call themselves that etc. it's luckily a minor thing, but also and even more so because the same mechanisms can and will be used more and more to the point that it genuinely negatively affects games and even more so their creators - in addition to all the nonsense going on with names in Pokémon games already mentioned by others here, this "new" wave of Nintendo censorship, especially due to Nintendo of America, started more than a decade ago (technically it never stopped as there's also the whole Vivian from Paper Mario TTYD matter in between etc., but that's when it restarted at full force) and one of its first instances was covering Tharja in a bathing costume, but the result nowadays isn't exclusively stuff like this as several games straight up couldn't be released outside of Japan and so their creators lost money they would've got otherwise...
Browt for me... but funnily enough just because I have to since my sister is definitely going for Pombon and her boyfriend always picks the Water starter - luckily I don't mind it (honestly, overall I like all these starters), but still!
Looks cool, looking forward to this and the rest of the game whenever I finally play Legends Z-A myself (I'll finally get it somewhere else as soon as I can and then play it when I can)!
Great artwork as usual for Pokémon (nice theories here in the comments based on it and the titles) - so looking forward to more of that and news in general before these come out and then playing them myself next year!
Excellent, this was definitely one of the best Presents considering all these announcements (they started with a genuine surprise before moving on to the usual mobile games and the section dedicated to the console ones was pretty big and not just considering gen 10) - what a way to celebrate the 30th anniversary!
Yeah, really hope they'll eventually release Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald to make it possible to complete the National Dex (and fingers crossed they included ways to access the events in FireRed & LeafGreen as already mentioned here) - anyway, glad that HOME support has been properly confirmed for those interested in that!
Even more so after reading the stories here I have to say, what a great way to celebrate (in the end I didn't send one myself, but honestly it's for the best so that others' could be included here and some of mine I've already shared in past comments and most likely I'll do so again in future ones anyway) - happy 30th anniversary Pokémon, a franchise special to so many of us!
Expected a way to cook (nice that they went for Greedent for that) while a new Rotom form as a way to play tunes from other Pokémon games was a nice surprise - between those and everything else they've shown I'm looking forward to Pokopia even more than I already was!
Already got the Xenoblade Chronicles X upgrade and Japanese FireRed, will eventually get Fallout 4, The Disney Afternoon Collection (waiting for the physical), Tales of Berseria - voting for the games up to here - and Ren & Stimpy Collection for sure, most likely Scott Pilgrim EX and Requiem as well, maybe also Legacy of Kain: Defiance and Resident Evil 7 and 8 and that should be it!
Glad this has a more precise release date at least on Switch for those who'd like to pick it up - I'll give it at least a try myself for sure (personally I'm more interested in other aspects of Pokémon, but still)!
Some will complain regardless (of course not talking about personal preferences and as long as expressed politely), but this time way more people should be happy - luckily at least here on Nintendo Life that's definitely the case so far: it looks great based on the little we've seen, it's a cool setting, they're coming out next year so there's more development time...
Personally, I'm so looking forward to seeing and hearing more about them and then finally playing myself whenever they come out next year!
Weird choice releasing this before Colosseum considering it's a sequel to that, all the quality-of-life features it has in comparison etc. - that said, glad we now know when one of them is coming, looking forward to replaying both myself and this time finishing them (doubt also on my own so most likely whenever I play them for my channel)!
This was the biggest surprise as I certainly didn't see it coming - pretty cool idea (sorry, but I'm more interested in what it actually is than what it isn't, not to mention that the original games on Switch and even more so a mini console didn't make sense immediately after FireRed and LeafGreen), happy for those going for it potentially me included at some point!
I'll watch the broadcast when I have the time (doubt today especially considering the upcoming Pokémon Presents, related and unrelated steams I have planned for my channel etc.), but good to know that Clint and Sandy are the new marriage candidates thanks to this article - kudos to @Munchlax for guessing both right and @CobaltFan for guessing Sandy!
@SBandy1 Like @MagGnome I've never heard the W.U.M. acronym before (and also the unabbreviated "Wind-Up Merchant" expression although as soon as I saw that I immediately guessed its meaning) so thanks for that - couldn't agree more with both of you, it's unfortunate and also baffling how some are here on Nintendo Life exclusively for such purposes...
Fingers crossed they can make it even better with patches (maybe even already with the day-one patch unless that's somehow included in this video as much as I doubt it), but I'm so glad that Digital Foundry acknowledges how good this and other games on Switch 2 already are while still mentioning their drawbacks unlike those who mostly if not completely disregard the former and are fixated on mostly if not exclusively the latter - so happy for those going for Requiem on Switch 2, potentially me included at some point!
@Liam_Doolan As @Stingle also mentioned it's priced at £58.99 digitally, could you please add that to the article (it's also on Nintendo Life's game profile, not sure why that doesn't show up here unlike in other articles specifically about this game)?
Nice, happy for those going for this digitally - I preordered a copy on Amazon (discounted with a gift card and if I had preordered it earlier I would've paid €10 less thanks to a discount of theirs) and I'm so looking forward to playing Pokopia myself as soon as I can on my own and also together with my sister and her boyfriend, even more so after finally watching the Treehouse live last night as much as I had no doubt from the start!
Personally, I'll gladly take patches and even more so day one instead of later over keeping bugs like back in the day (it's practically impossible to not have any of those, but of course the less from the get-go the better and clearly reviewers have been able to play this specific game without major issues anyway) - leaving that aside, glad that the amiibo now have a release date, getting those myself for sure!
It's so cool that Masters of the Universe is getting a new game, fingers crossed it will be just as good as it looks (as already mentioned by others here the footage looks great) - absolutely interested in this myself despite unfortunately missing the cartoon back in the day being born in the '90s, I'm not sure how much they reran it here in Italy if at all!
Interesting and pretty cool that Disgaea is getting such a spin-off - definitely interested in seeing and hearing more about this and potentially playing it myself (I should finally give the mainline games in this series a try when I can, too)!
Lovely video to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon (not sure which logo is my favorite, so many great ones and even more so with the accompaning animations) - can't wait to see what else they have in store for it in tomorrow's Pokémon Presents!
After the sales boom last week (mostly due to Kiwami 3 coming out and the second week for Dragon Quest VII) we're back to the start-of-the-year lower sales but still, glad to see Mario Tennis Fever on top! Also personally happy for Dragon Quest VII in 2nd, 4th and 8th, Mario Kart World in 3rd, Kiwami 3 in 5th, New Horizons in 6th and 7th, Switch Sports in 10th and of course Switch 2 on top of the hardware charts, still selling that much and despite that Switch immediately behind it with OLED in 2nd!
Happy 15th anniversary 3DS - my favorite among the ones I have or had is the New 3DS XL (if I had the New 2DS XL that would count as well) considering its functions, but I loved my regular New 3DS with its swappable faceplates and my original 3DS, too!
@Res462 Thanks for the link to that video, when I can I'll watch it - no matter if I end up building the badge set myself or not, it's nice that there's such an alternative!
Bummer that this is limited to Insiders, might have gone for this myself had it been a retail release (and even more so the badges, there's no chance I'll ever get those considering they're limited to the most starters set) - anyway, happy for those interested in this and that have enough points to get it!
First and foremost, happy 10th anniversary Stardew Valley - most likely I won't watch this live (it's happening for me when I usually play games as part of my gaming schedule), maybe after although for sure I'm looking forward to hearing who the new marriage candidates are etc. here on Nintendo Life!
Glad that it's now confirmed also for Switch thanks to Famitsu - looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this and most likely giving it at least a try myself (fingers crossed for Defender of the Future... in the future, too)!
Yeah, not convinced either that this is for a future PlayStation handheld for the reasons already mentioned here in the comments - would be great if the mistake were simply in what Grubb thinks and so they are considering bringing it to Switch 2, but of course it's too soon to say if it will actually happen as plans might change...
Have heard it's overall pretty good as is, but I'll definitely take additions to further improve it (as long as they don't break it which can happen and definitely already has when it comes to Bethesda games), fingers crossed for gyro at some point - looking forward to the review whenever it's ready and eventually giving Fallout 4 a try myself now that it's also on Switch 2!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (February 2026)
As much as I'm looking forward to playing all of these myself, most likely my favorite will end up being The Disney Afternoon Collection (waiting for the physical release other than of course then having to find the time for it) - so glad it's finally also on Switch 1 and 2 and better than ever!

Thanks for the review, definitely interested in giving this a try myself at some point now that it's also on Switch 2 (and also Ridge Racer, but this one first considering its additional features) - regardless, so glad it has finally come also to home consoles after so many years!

25/25 and rank 14th out of 151, currently 4th in the leaderboard with a 01:33 time (glad it worked unlike last time) - great quiz as usual!
Re: Final: What's Your Favourite Pokémon Ever? - Pick From Our 9 Poll Winners

Excellent, this was definitely one of the best Presents considering all these announcements (they started with a genuine surprise before moving on to the usual mobile games and the section dedicated to the console ones was pretty big and not just considering gen 10) - what a way to celebrate the 30th anniversary!

Re: New Pokémon Pokopia Trailer Introduces Even More Poké Pals
Expected a way to cook (nice that they went for Greedent for that) while a new Rotom form as a way to play tunes from other Pokémon games was a nice surprise - between those and everything else they've shown I'm looking forward to Pokopia even more than I already was!
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th February (North America)
Already got the Xenoblade Chronicles X upgrade and Japanese FireRed, will eventually get Fallout 4, The Disney Afternoon Collection (waiting for the physical), Tales of Berseria - voting for the games up to here - and Ren & Stimpy Collection for sure, most likely Scott Pilgrim EX and Requiem as well, maybe also Legacy of Kain: Defiance and Resident Evil 7 and 8 and that should be it!

Re: Pokémon Winds & Waves Announced For Switch 2, Launching Next Year
Some will complain regardless (of course not talking about personal preferences and as long as expressed politely), but this time way more people should be happy - luckily at least here on Nintendo Life that's definitely the case so far: it looks great based on the little we've seen, it's a cool setting, they're coming out next year so there's more development time...
Personally, I'm so looking forward to seeing and hearing more about them and then finally playing myself whenever they come out next year!

Re: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Tech Analysis Of Resident Evil Requiem On Switch 2 - "Capcom Deserves Kudos For This Port"
Re: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Tech Analysis Of Resident Evil Requiem On Switch 2 - "Capcom Deserves Kudos For This Port"
Re: PSA: Pokémon Pokopia Switch 2 Preloads Are Now Officially Live
@Liam_Doolan As @Stingle also mentioned it's priced at £58.99 digitally, could you please add that to the article (it's also on Nintendo Life's game profile, not sure why that doesn't show up here unlike in other articles specifically about this game)?
Re: PSA: Pokémon Pokopia Switch 2 Preloads Are Now Officially Live
Nice, happy for those going for this digitally - I preordered a copy on Amazon (discounted with a gift card and if I had preordered it earlier I would've paid €10 less thanks to a discount of theirs) and I'm so looking forward to playing Pokopia myself as soon as I can on my own and also together with my sister and her boyfriend, even more so after finally watching the Treehouse live last night as much as I had no doubt from the start!
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Day One Patch And amiibo Release Date Confirmed
Personally, I'll gladly take patches and even more so day one instead of later over keeping bugs like back in the day (it's practically impossible to not have any of those, but of course the less from the get-go the better and clearly reviewers have been able to play this specific game without major issues anyway) - leaving that aside, glad that the amiibo now have a release date, getting those myself for sure!
Re: He-Man's Arcade-Style Retro Brawler Locks In A Release Date For Switch
It's so cool that Masters of the Universe is getting a new game, fingers crossed it will be just as good as it looks (as already mentioned by others here the footage looks great) - absolutely interested in this myself despite unfortunately missing the cartoon back in the day being born in the '90s, I'm not sure how much they reran it here in Italy if at all!
Re: Disgaea Returns To Switch 1 & 2 This Summer With An Action RPG Twist
Interesting and pretty cool that Disgaea is getting such a spin-off - definitely interested in seeing and hearing more about this and potentially playing it myself (I should finally give the mainline games in this series a try when I can, too)!
Re: Pokémon Celebration Video Highlights The 1,000+ New 30th Anniversary Logos
Lovely video to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon (not sure which logo is my favorite, so many great ones and even more so with the accompaning animations) - can't wait to see what else they have in store for it in tomorrow's Pokémon Presents!
Re: Japanese Charts: Mario Tennis Fever Rallies Back To Take The Second Set
Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite 3DS Model?
Happy 15th anniversary 3DS - my favorite among the ones I have or had is the New 3DS XL (if I had the New 2DS XL that would count as well) considering its functions, but I loved my regular New 3DS with its swappable faceplates and my original 3DS, too!
Re: PSA: The Pokémon Center LEGO Set Launches Tomorrow, Exclusively For LEGO Insiders
@Res462 Thanks for the link to that video, when I can I'll watch it - no matter if I end up building the badge set myself or not, it's nice that there's such an alternative!
Re: PSA: The Pokémon Center LEGO Set Launches Tomorrow, Exclusively For LEGO Insiders
Bummer that this is limited to Insiders, might have gone for this myself had it been a retail release (and even more so the badges, there's no chance I'll ever get those considering they're limited to the most starters set) - anyway, happy for those interested in this and that have enough points to get it!
Re: Stardew Valley Is Celebrating 10 Years With A Special Anniversary Broadcast
First and foremost, happy 10th anniversary Stardew Valley - most likely I won't watch this live (it's happening for me when I usually play games as part of my gaming schedule), maybe after although for sure I'm looking forward to hearing who the new marriage candidates are etc. here on Nintendo Life!
Re: Yes, Ecco The Dolphin's Remaster Will Probably Make A Splash On Switch
Glad that it's now confirmed also for Switch thanks to Famitsu - looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this and most likely giving it at least a try myself (fingers crossed for Defender of the Future... in the future, too)!
Re: Rumour: Sony Apparently Has Gran Turismo Running On Switch 2, Just Don't Expect To See It
Yeah, not convinced either that this is for a future PlayStation handheld for the reasons already mentioned here in the comments - would be great if the mistake were simply in what Grubb thinks and so they are considering bringing it to Switch 2, but of course it's too soon to say if it will actually happen as plans might change...
Re: Fallout 4 On Switch 2 Is Getting DLSS Support And Stability Improvements
Have heard it's overall pretty good as is, but I'll definitely take additions to further improve it (as long as they don't break it which can happen and definitely already has when it comes to Bethesda games), fingers crossed for gyro at some point - looking forward to the review whenever it's ready and eventually giving Fallout 4 a try myself now that it's also on Switch 2!
