Re: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Gets A Release Date, But Not On Switch

JohnnyMind

Could be that some including Konami are just holding back info for the Direct and especially if they have to announce a Switch 2 version, but even if that's not the case I'd say better late than never and I'd rather them take their time to release the Switch version in a better state from the get-go instead of rushing it just for the sake of a day-and-date release - anyway, looks great, looking forward to it whenever it comes to Switch (at this point I might start with this one and then go back to past Castlevania games after)!

Re: Spyro The Dragon Reignites With A Brand New Entry On Switch 2

JohnnyMind

So glad to see Spyro back with a new game and it coming also to Switch 2 - absolutely looking forward to it whenever it comes out (I really should play the remake trilogy in the meantime, so far I've only played past Spyro games on Nintendo system starting with Enter the Dragonfly which I had as a kid and then the GBA ones on emulator)!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (May 2026)

JohnnyMind

All great if not better games this month - haven't played any of them yet, but most likely my favorite will end up being Mina the Hollower (so glad the only potential downside for me which is difficulty shouldn't be an issue thanks to wealth of options included)!

Re: Opinion: Mario Kart World Deserves Its Flowers, So Let's Stop Comparing It To MK8 Deluxe

JohnnyMind

Couldn't agree more and let me add that exactly considering how much 8 Deluxe sold and it also being available on Switch 2 it only makes sense for World to be different and personally I'd say overall great in its own, distinct way (and clearly despite the loud online complaining the silent majority also overall likes the game because otherwise it wouldn't have kept on selling beyond launch to the point that it currently has a 74% attach rate thanks to its 14.7 millions sales compared to 19.86 millions Switch 2 systems and so be its best seller by a great margin) - in addition, this is just the beginning for this game unlike 8 Deluxe which benefitted from being a Wii U rerelease and eventually the Booster Course Pass so why not just wait and see how World ends up being after getting DLC, too?

Re: Digital Eclipse Reveals Its Next Retro Collection, Out For Switch 1 & 2 This November

JohnnyMind

Didn't expect the next Digital Eclipse retro collection to be a Barbie one but sure, the more older games coming to contemporary platforms (and of course for me personally Switch 1 and/or 2) the better - not gonna lie, I'm kind of curious about it myself so I might get it and also potentially for my niece... and yes, it seems that apart from difficult if not practically impossible licenses etc. any collection might happen at some point!

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Rayman 3D

JohnnyMind

North America for sure since it has an actual background and action other than of course being a homage to the Rayman 2 original art as mentioned also by the article (I'd say that one is better, though) - speaking of, I unfortunately missed both the N64 version and this one so I'm really glad the former has finally come to NSO, looking forward to playing it when I can!

Re: Feature: Switch 2, Year One - How Closely Did Nintendo Follow Its Own Playbook?

JohnnyMind

Nice to see the continuation of that article and good job with those correct predictions - as for the anomalies, Mario's absence isn't particularly weird to me considering all the reasons mentioned along with so many spin-offs and even more so Bananza (while a DK game it's clearly also Odyssey's counterpart) while the other "misses" show how much Nintendo can be unpredictable as much as even them obviously have some trends...
Anyway, looking forward to seeing what games we end up getting during Year Two first and foremost in themselves of course, but also to then look back on those predictions again!

Re: Hitman: Absolution Switch 2 Upgrade Pack Confirmed For This Summer

JohnnyMind

As usual I hope it will be a proper, separate upgrade pack instead of other ways (although in this case I don't think this came out physically so at least that shouldn't be a problem unlike for Stray etc.) - regardless, good to hear it's getting an upgrade in the first place and I'll consider playing this on Switch 2 myself although not anytime soon as even just when it comes to games by IO Interactive World of Assassination which I already have and 007 First Light which I've preordered come first!

Re: Two New Cuphead Games Are On The Way

JohnnyMind

Love to hear that Cuphead is getting not one, but two new games - as much as of course the main course will be the hand-animated one, Mighty Cuphead Adventure looks great in its own way (I'll give them all at least a try at some point although I'm not sure how much progress I'll be able to make into them considering the difficulty of the original)!

Re: Koei Tecmo Is Bringing Attack On Titan 3 To Switch 2

JohnnyMind

Wouldn't mind giving the Attack on Titan games on Switch a try, but I should properly read or watch the series first (I've partially checked out the TV anime and movies so far) - anyway, glad to hear this is coming also to Switch 2 for those interested in it!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch 2: Year One - Looking Back, How Would You Rate It So Far?

JohnnyMind

10 - Outstanding and I'm Ecstatic, the only reason why I was considering voting slightly less is because this is just the beginning - I've been enjoying Switch 2 in itself and the games on it, both those on it specifically and Switch ones thanks to backward compatibility, so much from the start and the positives vastly outweigh the negatives for me...
Speaking of I'm sorry, but while there are some objective negatives the controversies have been overblown (unfortunately also intentionally because negativity sales, by those straight up against Nintendo etc.) and I want to call out one in particular this time, the supposed "lack of games" as it's disproven by this very article and by the way, here's the Switch Year One for comparison!

Re: Amazon Shares Statement About The Future Of James Bond Video Games

JohnnyMind

Had no doubt James Bond would return even without the statement and "spoiler" but still, good to hear - looking forward to seeing what they'll come up with next (would be great if they also rereleased some older games although I have doubts as well for the reasons already mentioned here), but first and foremost playing First Light myself whenever it comes to Switch 2!

Re: Rumour: Persona 6 Images Supposedly Leak Online

JohnnyMind

Yep, have seen them on the Nintendo Life forums and I'm not surprised by the takedowns as they certainly look like the real deal - considering all the things mentioned in the article, fingers crossed they'll at least announce Persona 6 sooner rather than later (and hopefully also confirm 4 Revival for Switch 2, too)!

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Sales Plummet As Price Increase Comes Into Play

JohnnyMind

I'd say we should wait and see how much Switch 2 sells in the following weeks, it's not the first time it sold under 50k (during the 20th - 26th April week and the one before that for example, 45 and 44k respectively) and of course there would be a decrease in sales immediately after the price increase - not to mention that even with that it keeps on selling way, way more than any other system in Japan...
Anyway, personally happy to see Tomodachi Life still on top, First Light debuting in 2nd, Pokopia in 3rd, Yoshi in 4th, World in 6th and Jamboree in 10th!

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th June (North America)

JohnnyMind

My copy of Rebirth arrived earlier today, I'll most likely get eFootball and RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic at some point, maybe also River City Saga (waiting to hear more about this one specifically) and Stray (if only had it been an actual upgrade and so available also for those who have the physical Switch version like me) and that should be it unless I missed something - luckily when that happens others' comments come to the rescue!

Re: Talking Point: One Year On, How Pristine Is Your Switch 2?

JohnnyMind

@spiderman0616 The basic case as well (also because it was the only one available at launch here in Italy) and yep, I overall quite like it, too - would've preferred more spots for carts especially since I was used to more of them in my case for the Switch, but 6 is still nothing to sneeze at!

Re: Talking Point: One Year On, How Pristine Is Your Switch 2?

JohnnyMind

Practically still box fresh which makes sense considering that I've put on a screen protector from the start, I've been using it mostly at home both in docked and handheld and I got the official case for the times I bring it somewhere (usually to a friend's house, but also on vacation) - anyway, man have I been enjoying Switch 2!

Re: Review: Donkey Kong 64 - Kicks Some Serious Tail, But Goes Too Far

JohnnyMind

While I can see where the criticism about this game comes from and even agree to an extent that has been said also about Banjo-Tooie and yet I've always overall (emphasis on that because certain things just suck, Canary Mary to make the most infamous example) loved it - in fact, I quite enjoyed the little I got to play of this myself on emulator before encountering issues preventing me from progressing back in the day so I'm really glad it's now also on NSO to properly play it when I can!
