Thanks for the review, glad the game itself is overall so groovy (curious to see how I'll find Beatspell myself) - on my own I'll definitely play it in handheld, but I'll give it a try also docked despite the potential lag whenever I play it on stream... so looking forward to finally playing a Rhythm Heaven thanks to this latest entry!
Yeah, not telling in advance when a game is getting delisted sucks and I wish companies avoided that at least (unfortunately the delisting itself can be unavoidable due to licensing etc.) - anyway, thanks for mentioning the physical release, if I can still find one I'll consider getting it myself... but yeah, as others have already mentioned unfortunately physical copies and code-in-a-box are also limited and glad others have yet again clarified that this has nothing to do with redownloads etc.!
Glad that this is getting at least such a physical release for those interested in it (most likely I'll just stick to the digital version as I'm from Italy, I'd rather not further increase its cost to import it) - fingers crossed the second game gets one, too!
Glad to hear those mentioned here also enjoyed it and further confirmation about the aspects talked about in the Nintendo Life preview (other than of course shown in the dedicated Direct) - so looking forward to my copy of Raiders to arrive and then playing it as soon as I can!
So glad they added two Knockout Tours through this update and that six more are coming at some point in the future (of course being able to use stickers in Photo Mode is a cool addition, too) - looking forward to trying them out myself next time I play World as part of my gaming schedule!
@Olliemar28 I was referring also to others not noticing my comment last time, not just your reply (most likely also due to the number of comments and me being late then, but still) - leaving that aside, now even Digital Foundry disagrees with you about this version not being good enough overall while also acknowledging both the positives and the negatives...
@GoproGO Yeah, the complaining about Mario Kart World has been so exaggerated that I'm not surprised you missed that - there are aspects that could be improved on about the game for sure and several already have through updates like this one, but of course some mostly if not completely disregard those for the sake of bashing the game itself and/or Nintendo (look at the absurd GTA6 comparison here, so glad others have already countered it)...
Glad to see the additions through updates (bet straight up DLC will eventually come, but I guess they need more time especially if they include new tracks as part of a new "world" to expand also Free Roam) continuing and even more so since this time new Knockout Tours are included - looking forward to checking them out next week when I play World as part of my gaming schedule!
This is exactly what I said and yet people disregarded it - one thing is the lack of an upgrade which sucks, but as now also Digital Foundry said "the technical improvements are substantial" which is important to acknowledge not only to give credit where credit is due, but also for those potentially getting Frontiers for the first time and so not affected by the abovementioned upgrade issue (there's also the Game-Key Card matter, but many if not most get games regardless of those so I'd say that's besides the point)!
By the way since it has been brought up again, reminder that among the games that have "fallen short" of expectations according to Sega there's CrossWorlds which got an upgrade and even a physical release - later sure and so it most likely affected sales at first, but the upgrade came out in December while the fully physical release in March so they've been out for months at this point and so clearly that's not the (only) reason why Sega's games didn't sell well enough...
@eldersnake Yep and funnily enough there has been praise for the technical aspects of Switch 2 versions of games even by those making comparisons with other platforms when they look at all their aspects and then based on those consider them overall great if not better (Digital Foundry immediately comes to mind considering the articles here on Nintendo Life, but also others) - of course, reason has never stopped some from saying at the very least exaggerations if not straight up lies...
Nice, happy for those in the US interested in watching the Galaxy movie in this way - personally, I watched it at the cinema twice (day one on my own and later together with my friends) and now I've preordered the Italian DVD... eventually I'd like to get the Japanese one, too!
Did it kind of in a hurry before having dinner (and even leaving that aside I'd say this was more difficult than usual) so only 8/12 in 02:23 so currently 16th out of 63 and 7th on the leaderboard - anyway, love to see the monthly quizzes continuing!
Excellent, showcased the game pretty well for both those who have never heard of it before and those who have and were looking for more info - among the best Directs dedicated to a single game (not as good as Bananza's, that one was straight up Outstanding in my opinion) and glad to hear also here that more people are interested in the game thanks to it!
At least so far Bethesda's strategy is releasing their latest games as fully physical releases while their older ones as code-in-a-box on Switch 2, makes sense and still better than most other third parties (Game-Key Card would've been better for the latter than exclusively digital including CiaB, though) - would've eventually got the game regardless, but I'll try to get it as soon as possible if not even day one considering this and happy for others, too!
Nice to have a preview here on Nintendo Life along with the Direct - looking forward to playing Raiders even more than I already was thanks to both (and also considering that it will be the first time I properly play Splatoon after playing a little of the very first game on Wii U)!
And of course some still "criticize" a low-powered (as in consuming so little electricity, less than 25W) hybrid handheld for not running games exactly like power-hungry home consoles and PCs...
Leaving that aside, the game keeps on looking great in this latest trailer - glad for those interested in it, potentially me included!
Thanks for the review, so glad Tekken is finally back to Nintendo systems even just like this - fingers crossed we'll get more ports of the older ones by Hamster (as mentioned Console Archives releases would be even better, but I'd say having the games in the first place is what matters the most) and finally also more recent entries by Bandai Namco themselves!
Looks pretty cool, glad it's coming for those interested in it (potentially me included although I'm interested in playing Cyberpunk first and foremost when I can - also, I should watch the first season before this one anyway)!
Curious to see if we'll get other Mario Kart World news (in general, not just related to Nintendo Music) at the end of these updates, similar to the 8 Deluxe news cycle - anyway, love to see these music tracks coming and yes, even more so considering how good these remixes are!
Yeah, if confirmed I also guess that it's just for the sake of the European revision - even more so considering this I'm waiting to see how that ends up being, there could also be drawbacks to make it possible to replace the battery (fingers crossed for the best of course, but it's worth keeping that in mind)...
As much as I doubt I'll watch this myself I'm curious to see and hear more about it - fingers crossed for the best, at the very least I hope it will make even more people interested in Persona (and regardless, I'd rather wait and see instead of automatically bashing it)!
Makes sense if they want to have a chance at increasing PlayStation's sales in Japan (and of course it could attract more customers elsewhere, too) - anyway, looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this whenever they're ready to announce it... not sure if I'd ever get one myself considering the more likely than not high price and other potential factors, but I would at least consider it if it were a hybrid system!
Didn't know before the articles here on Nintendo Life that R-Type got such spin-offs, interesting - hope those going for this Switch rerelease will overall enjoy it (potentially me included at some point)!
Most likely I'll just watch the Direct (as usual both live on my own in Italian and the next day on stream in Japanese) and skip the Treehouse considering that Raiders is coming out in less than a month - that said, glad to see these Treehouse lives continue for those interested in them!
Love to see Star Fox debuting on top in the UK charts - as usual even more interested in the Japanese ones since those mention the actual unit sales, but still! Also personally happy to see Cyberpunk in 3rd, Tomodachi Life in 4th, First Light in 5th, Requiem back to the top 10 in 7th, Pokopia still in 8th, Lego Batman in 9th, World in 11th, Rayman debuting in 12th, Elden Ring in 15th, Legends Z-A in 16th, Shadows back to the charts in 18th, Bananza in 19th etc.!
Based on what I've seen, heard and now also played myself to at least an extent I'd also say overall 9 - Excellent - this remake brings the already great Star Fox 64 to new heights and not just considering the obvious glow-up, but also and even more so the additions to it (hope they'll further expand at the very least the multiplayer, that would make it straight up Outstanding in my opinion) while still being mostly faithful... considering that I'm looking forward to the Ocarina of Time remake even more than I already was!
Could change considering the games coming out during the second half of the year and also the ones already out that I haven't played yet (or in the case of Star Fox that I've just started), but so far I'd say it's between Pokopia and Tomodachi Life for me just like for Kate - while I'm playing the latter daily and I'm loving it I'm voting for the former considering it was an even bigger surprise, all the additional content it's getting and personally because I got to play it not only on my own, but also with my friends!
So glad that this is also coming to Switch 2 after Relink - interested in the latter first and foremost considering the genre myself, but I'll definitely consider playing this as well (and regardless, of course happy for those going for any of these games)!
Glad to see the fixes continuing and at this pace (the biggest ones this time are Raiden IV and Shovel Knight) - also good that they're identifying more unsupported titles so that they'll hopefully be able to fix those as well at some point! As for the YouTube app (and also other games mentioned by people here) again and as luckily already mentioned here, I'd say it's mostly if not exclusively on YouTube (or whatever other company) themselves, not Nintendo...
Of course the Mina collabs are now starting just like it happened for Shovel Knight (in general and also specifically when it comes to Rivals of Aether) - glad for those interested in it and if Rivals of Aether II eventually comes also to Switch 1 and/or 2 I'll give it a try myself for sure, in the meantime I'm looking forward to playing Mina as soon as I can!
Japan for me since it has more characters including Banjo and Conker as already mentioned here and an actual track for the background (also it's clearer that the plane is actually flying on it) - that said, the North American box art is overall pretty good as well considering the less space!
@Banks Absolutely recommend it if you have the chance - the single player is quite interesting but difficult at times, in fact I finished it but not really as a kid (you'll see what I mean whenever you play it yourself)... and that's exactly why I'd love to replay the game although hopefully on Switch 1 and/or 2 at some point, to finally fully play the single player myself other than of course for the chaotic but fun multiplayer!
@DangerZone Not sure if it's possible due to whoever holds the rights of those games (I think EA as if I recall correctly they acquired Codemasters some years ago?), but man would such a collection be epic, indeed!
Great article as usual and glad you had fun replaying or playing for the first time all these N64 games in multiplayer - funnily enough the most nostalgic game for me between these is the one you didn't expect, i.e. Bomberman 64 since I had it myself as a kid unlike the others which I played at friends' houses or unfortunately straight up missed (fingers crossed it will eventually be rereleased on Switch 1 and/or 2, be it on NSO or as part of a collection similar to the upcoming Super Bomberman one... and of course yes please to Micro Machines on NSO if possible)!
@ccchris The flip side of playing so many games at a time is making less progress in each of them so nothing wrong with either approach depending on your preference and situation (sad to hear that for many weeks you have limited time for gaming) - anyway, glad you got Guardians of Azuma thanks to a great Prime Day sale and I hope you'll enjoy it, personally I'm absolutely loving it!
Yes, I got a 1TB card, a Lexar Play Pro (glad to have further confirmation that it's among the fastest ones thanks to the Tom's Hardware article) - I knew I'd need one sooner rather than later so I got it when it was available on Italian Amazon and it costed €200... and man am I glad I did, not only that's the lowest price it has ever had according to Keepa, but also it currently costs €300!
Didn't put them in italics since I thought there was still the limit of 5 games in the poll (not sure when that changed exactly, I think relatively recently), but of course in addition to those games I'm playing Tomodachi Life on my own and as already mentioned CrossWorlds on stream - of course in occasion of the Sonic 35th Anniversary festival first and foremost, but I'll also do more Grand Prix offline as usual!
Tonight I'm not seeing my friends so I'll just continue with my schedule:
Fitness Boxing (didn't play it; 3 did all Box-and-Bond for Lin);
Ring Fit Adventure (didn't play it; 9 Worlds completed and 4 finished);
GameCenter CX (didn't play it);
Freedom Planet 2 (did 1 stage as Milla; Story as Lilac and Carol - 25/63 Badges);
Dragon Quest III (continued grinding to defeat that in even less turns; game finished, all Medals, Monsters, Dungeons and Arenas);
Xenoblade Chronicles X (did a normal mission; 7/?? Chapters, 26/?? Affinity, 68/?? Normal, 83/?? Basic Missions and 65/?? Heart-to-Hearts - Mira 33.47% - 112/204 Story, 51/315 Combat and 80/222 World Achievements);
Guardians of Azuma (went around new islands - also did some bonding quests; all Main, 203/?? Bonding Quests - 107/?? Bestiary - 16/45 PescaPedia - all Kamiwaza, 32/36 Quests, 5/6 Battles, 2/16 Bonds and 6/8 Everyday Life Seals);
Fantasy Life i (did some requests, Life quests and so ranked up the Carpenter Life; all Chapters - Lives 9 Master and 5 Expert Rank - 101 Personal Requests - all Strangelings, 105/148 Monsters, 93/138 Resources, 49/50 Characters);
Mario Kart World (did a Knockout Tour, finally got 3 stars; Mirror Three Stars all GPs, 3 KT - 26 Panels, 64 Switches and 15 Medallions in Free Roam - all Vehicles, 118 Characters and 303 Stickers);
Soul Calibur II (did Arcade as 1 character; Arcade as 13 characters - Weapon Master completed);
Street Fighter 6 (finished for now KO Festival in World Tour; World Tour 11 Chapters and 33 Sidequests);
Yakuza 0 (continued Kiryu's business and did a substory; all Chapters - 39.30% Completion, 34/79 Adventure, 44/84 Battle, 47/99 Business, 10/27 Substories, 12/85 Minigames);
Bananza (completed SL 1202, 1203 and 1204 - also continued Emerald Rush; game finished, 12 layers completed - 719/777 Banandium Gems, 634/696 Fossils, 111/117 Discs - VoidCo 17 Rewards);
Age of Imprisonment (did 3 aside quests - also did many quests; all Chapters and Battles, 122 Aside Quests and 268 Quests);
Persona 3 Reload (up to 6/13 not included; 4 Charm and Courage, 3 Academics - 1 Rank 7, 1 Rank 6, 1 Rank 5, 4 Rank 4, 2 Rank 3, 1 Rank 2, 2 Rank 1 Social Links - 17% Compendium - 23 Elizabeth's Requests);
Trails in the Sky 1st (did a request, arrived at the village, went around it and so advanced the story; Prologue and 1 Chapter - Junior Rank 6 21/50, 22/?? Requests - Rewards 53/??, Achievements 7/43);
Tennis Fever (continued the Adventure; 1/5 Medals - all Courts, 14/20 Characters, 5/20 Colors, 22/24 Rackets, 4/7 Movies);
Those are some great additions/changes along with the expected fixes - looking forward to playing this myself even more than I already was when I can (unfortunately haven't even got it yet as my preorder got cancelled, will try to do at least that as soon as possible and then I'll play it when I have the time for it)!
Still relatively early in the game (have just started Chapter 3), but I couldn't agree more with others here and again, most reviews agree as well - leaving that aside, love to see Yoshi in that top 10 and glad for the other debuting games, Tomodachi Life and Mario Kart World... so looking forward to Lego Batman first and then eventually also First Light when they come also to Switch 2!
Interesting, so practically the same sales as in Japan (the lifetime sales there in the week including June 5th this year were 5,888,272 so rounded up also 5.9 million) and now we know that outside of these two regions Switch 2 sold around 8.06 million units - anyway, love to hear Switch 2 sold that much for both Nintendo and those who got it, fingers crossed that overall continues despite the price increase... just like it's happening in Japan as mentioned in occasion of the latest Japanese charts, around 100K units in four weeks during a quiet month is nothing to sneeze at!
18/20 (have heard of the games I got wrong, but I've barely if ever seen their box arts before), time 02:26 so currently rank 6th out of 56 and I'm the only one on the leaderboard - great quiz and yet another fun way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the N64!
Fingers crossed DS and 3DS games will eventually come to Switch 2 (most likely on NSO apart from occasional separate releases), the former sooner rather than later - that said yeah, there was no way Furukawa-san would say anything about it during a Shareholder Q&A of all places!
Again, appreciate hearing the game creators talking about their games (thanks Capcom for giving them the chance to do so in such occasions) - of course I'm interested in and so getting this game myself first and foremost considering the setting, but also the other aspects they've shown and mentioned!
Really cool that this DLC side-story is out now - absolutely looking forward to it and Stories 3 in general whenever I get to them (not anytime soon also considering that I'd like to play the previous Stories games first, but still)!
Nice to hear about all these additions etc. from Kinoshita-san - the game looks fantastic and I'm so glad it's coming also to Switch 2 for those interested in it (me included at some point although I should check out the first game already on Switch, too)!
Don't think I've encountered any of these bugs myself but still, glad they're now fixed (downloading the update now) - fingers crossed they'll eventually add contents to this game to make it even better, but I've been really enjoying it as is playing it on my own, on stream and watching others doing so, too!
Glad that these tracks finally got added to Nintendo Music - it's a smaller update yes, but I'd also say there isn't a better time for it considering the current Mario Kart World Free Roam updates along with these regular ones as already mentioned here!
So glad to hear that he's just changing position (although obviously one at a reduced level of responsibility as already mentioned here in the comments) - the quote was heartwarming, thank you Tezuka-san for all your work at Nintendo so far and going forward and of course thanks to others there, too!

Re: Review: Rhythm Heaven Groove (Switch) - A Low-Key Swansong And Perfect Mic-Drop For Switch 1

Re: Feature: The Master Of Multiplayer - Finally Playing N64's Only 8-Player Game
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th June)
Re: Talking Point: Have You Bought A 1TB Micro SD Express Card Yet?
Yes, I got a 1TB card, a Lexar Play Pro (glad to have further confirmation that it's among the fastest ones thanks to the Tom's Hardware article) - I knew I'd need one sooner rather than later so I got it when it was available on Italian Amazon and it costed €200... and man am I glad I did, not only that's the lowest price it has ever had according to Keepa, but also it currently costs €300!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th June)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th June)
Tonight I'm not seeing my friends so I'll just continue with my schedule:
Re: Terminator 2D: No Fate 'Patch 1' Out Now On Switch, Here Are The Full Details
Those are some great additions/changes along with the expected fixes - looking forward to playing this myself even more than I already was when I can (unfortunately haven't even got it yet as my preorder got cancelled, will try to do at least that as soon as possible and then I'll play it when I have the time for it)!
Re: Yoshi's Page-Turning Switch 2 Adventure Debuts In "Top 10 Best-Selling Games" For May 2026 (US)
Still relatively early in the game (have just started Chapter 3), but I couldn't agree more with others here and again, most reviews agree as well - leaving that aside, love to see Yoshi in that top 10 and glad for the other debuting games, Tomodachi Life and Mario Kart World... so looking forward to Lego Batman first and then eventually also First Light when they come also to Switch 2!
Re: Switch 2's First Year Hardware Sales For The US Have Been Revealed
Interesting, so practically the same sales as in Japan (the lifetime sales there in the week including June 5th this year were 5,888,272 so rounded up also 5.9 million) and now we know that outside of these two regions Switch 2 sold around 8.06 million units - anyway, love to hear Switch 2 sold that much for both Nintendo and those who got it, fingers crossed that overall continues despite the price increase... just like it's happening in Japan as mentioned in occasion of the latest Japanese charts, around 100K units in four weeks during a quiet month is nothing to sneeze at!
Re: Quiz: Can You Tell These N64 Games From The Mangled Box Art?
18/20 (have heard of the games I got wrong, but I've barely if ever seen their box arts before), time 02:26 so currently rank 6th out of 56 and I'm the only one on the leaderboard - great quiz and yet another fun way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the N64!
Re: Nintendo Refuses To Answer Whether DS Or 3DS Games Are Coming To Switch 2
Fingers crossed DS and 3DS games will eventually come to Switch 2 (most likely on NSO apart from occasional separate releases), the former sooner rather than later - that said yeah, there was no way Furukawa-san would say anything about it during a Shareholder Q&A of all places!
Re: Capcom Shares "Exclusive First Peek" Of Onimusha: Way Of The Sword Battle Gameplay
Again, appreciate hearing the game creators talking about their games (thanks Capcom for giving them the chance to do so in such occasions) - of course I'm interested in and so getting this game myself first and foremost considering the setting, but also the other aspects they've shown and mentioned!
Re: Monster Hunter Stories 3 'Rudy' Side-Story DLC Announced, Out Now Alongside Free Update
Really cool that this DLC side-story is out now - absolutely looking forward to it and Stories 3 in general whenever I get to them (not anytime soon also considering that I'd like to play the previous Stories games first, but still)!
Re: Video: Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Expansion New Gameplay Overview
Nice to hear about all these additions etc. from Kinoshita-san - the game looks fantastic and I'm so glad it's coming also to Switch 2 for those interested in it (me included at some point although I should check out the first game already on Switch, too)!
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder "Elephant Mario" Statue Officially Revealed, Here's A First Look
Looks great, happy for those going for it - as usual I'll just get the amiibo myself (not the same pose in this case unlike other figures, but still)!
Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Updated To Version 1.0.3, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Don't think I've encountered any of these bugs myself but still, glad they're now fixed (downloading the update now) - fingers crossed they'll eventually add contents to this game to make it even better, but I've been really enjoying it as is playing it on my own, on stream and watching others doing so, too!
Re: Nintendo Music Update Adds Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Happy Home Paradise Songs
Glad that these tracks finally got added to Nintendo Music - it's a smaller update yes, but I'd also say there isn't a better time for it considering the current Mario Kart World Free Roam updates along with these regular ones as already mentioned here!
Re: Nintendo Legend Takashi Tezuka Is Retiring From His Role In June
So glad to hear that he's just changing position (although obviously one at a reduced level of responsibility as already mentioned here in the comments) - the quote was heartwarming, thank you Tezuka-san for all your work at Nintendo so far and going forward and of course thanks to others there, too!
