Great selection of eShop games reviewed by Nintendo Life this month - haven't played any of them myself yet, but knowing me my favorite will most likely end up being either Shujinkou or Yooka-Replaylee (voting for the former in the poll, but both really appeal to me if for different reasons)!
Yeah, definitely North America/Europe for me considering that it's clearer there that it's a single "world" as mentioned also by the article - funnily enough by looking at the Japanese box art you might end up thinking that this game's setting is space like a Mario Galaxy ante litteram (Wild World came out in 2005 in Japan while Galaxy in 2007)!
Personally, I think it's a cool collab in general and quite liked the video in particular - regardless, hope those taking part in it will enjoy it (potentially me included if my friends want to play Fortnite together again)!
Nice, getting those as well the next time I play Street Fighter 6 as part of my gaming schedule - by the way, after all you do need a Capcom ID and linking that to your Nintendo account to redeem these so keep it in mind (I would've done so anyway at some point so for me this was a good reason to finally do so, but your mileage may vary)!
Glad to hear that hotfix is coming and about that plan for the online for those interested in it (not particularly me included, but still) - fingers crossed they'll be able to fix the difficulty options sooner rather than later, too!
It's really sad that such things (not just fan artworks, remember this First Movie Pikachu statue for example?) accidentally if not even intentionally end up being trashed - so glad you managed to save the ones you had your hands on, sent them either back to the artists or to Interactive Art Collection except for that volume and of course thanks for sharing this with us including your kids' art!
Preordered practically all the highlighted games from my usual retailer here in Italy (the only exception being AC Shadows since it has been announced recently and they don't have it, but I'll eventually get it for sure) and I'm interested in several of the other ones as well - Katamari has already arrived, preordered also from them Dragon Quest I & II, Survival Kids, Kiwami 2, Sparking Zero, Kiwami (not sure when it will arrive since it's the Switch version) and Mortal Kombat, from Amazon Yooka-Replaylee and there I'll eventually get for sure SpongeBob, too!
@Gryzor It's worth mentioning again that these are all the games I'm playing throughout the week - the weekend ones are exclusively those in italics - and that I have specific slots each day for them (when I wake up only for those I use to exercise, after dinner and before going to bed for all the other ones except for the YouTube ones as I have a separate schedule for those mentioned on my channel, you can find the link to it in my profile here on Nintendo Life)!
And as usual while most have been claiming for a more powerful Switch first and foremost, we luckily got that and many clearly overall appreciate it as the system has already sold incredibly well and keeps on selling, some here on Nintendo Life keep on complaining about it... not to mention that apart from several Switch games running better thanks to backward compatibility as is and other ones getting Switch 2 features through updates/upgrades, did you really want:
Mario Kart World and Bananza to be still made for Switch and so be horribly limited and a repeat of Age of Calamity for Age of Imprisonment;
missing on all the third parties that we most certainly wouldn't get if we still had only Switch, Kirby Air Riders and the already announced first-party exclusives for next year?
Not preordering it, but I'm getting the upgrade as soon as it comes out (so I'm voting for the preorder option in the poll since it's the closest one) - looking forward to replaying New Horizons whenever the time comes for it on my channel!
Even though there isn't a new track since it's a free DLC I'd like to play this so most likely I'll take part in this festival for the first hour and then the Kirby Air Riders test for the second one on stream that Sunday (the latter shouldn't start before 4 PM here in Italy anyway, but I'll recheck it to avoid another mistake à la Drag x Drive) - regardless, happy that Ichiban is already coming to CrossWorlds!
Fingers crossed for an e-Shop demo eventually just like Bananza as already mentioned here, but in the meantime happy for those in North America who'll be able to play this in-store - as for me, I'm just waiting for my copy to arrive to start it (no matter if I haven't finished Tears of the Kingdom yet, I'm close enough and I can't wait to play Age of Imprisonment anyway)!
Tonight I'm not seeing my friends so I'll just continue with my schedule of alternating between:
Fitness Boxing (didn't play it; 3 did 3 Box-and-Bond for Lin - FotNS did Battle Mode);
Ring Fit Adventure (didn't play it; 7 Worlds completed and 4 finished);
Tears of the Kingdom (continued going around to find the remaining Voice Memories - also found a Korok; all Towers, Tears, Tablets, Lightroots, Shrines, Temples, Sidequests, Caves, 141 Voice Memories and 177 Koroks);
GameCenter CX (didn't play it; first GameCenter CX, 5 Games of the second one completed, second GameCenter CX and 4 Games finished);
Freedom Planet 2 (did 1 stage as Carol; Story as Lilac - 21/63 Badges);
Jamboree (started getting the remaining Minigame achievements - also got 3 photos; all Mini Stars, 92/116 Achievements, 25/30 Photos);
Brothership (continued the final area; all Reefs, Islets and Sidequests, 20 Islands, 1145 Lumenade, 24 Challenges);
Dragon Quest III (explored two new areas and so got access to that, then explored the first area there; 14 Dungeons, 81 Mini Medals);
Persona 5 Tactica (did one mission; all Quests, 3/4 Kingdoms, 46/52 Missions, 28/30 Hideout Conversations);
Legends Arceus (continued going around to catch all Pokémon; 26/27 Missions and 85/122 Requests completed - Pokédex 219 Seen, 198 Caught and 118 Max Research Level);
Xenoblade Chronicles X (finished Chapter 5; 5/?? Chapters, 12/?? Affinity, 23/?? Normal, 32/?? Basic Missions and 12/?? Heart-to-Hearts - Mira 14,52% - 66/204 Story, 29/315 Combat and 45/222 World Achievements);
Guardians of Azuma (continued exploring the new area - also did a bonding quest; 73/?? Main, 26/?? Bonding Quests - 47/?? Bestiary - 4/45 PescaPedia - 13/36 Quests, 2/6 Battles, 1/16 Bonds, 5/8 Everyday Life and 5/7 Kamiwaza Seals);
Fantasy Life i (continued going around the new island and so advanced the story - also by doing so found a Strangeling and unlocked the last Live; 4 Chapters - Lives 13 Apprentice 1 Fledgling Rank - 30 Personal Requests - 35/128 Monsters, 35/130 Resources, 6/49 Strangelings, 6/50 Characters);
Mario Kart World (replayed the Special Cup and so unlocked Mirror Mode; 14 ? Panels, 30 P Switches and 10 Peach Medallions in Free Roam - 96 Characters, 32 Vehicles and 222 Stickers);
Soul Calibur II (did all Chapter 4 stages but one in Weapon Master; Arcade as 1 character - Weapon Master finished, 2 Chapters and 1 Sub-Chapter completed);
Street Fighter 6 (did Chapter 7-6 in World Tour; World Tour 7 Chapters and 8 Sidequests);
Yakuza 0 (continued Chapter 7 - also did a substory; 6 Chapters - 14.71% Completion, 13/79 Adventure, 24/84 Battle, 4/99 Business, 4/27 Substories, 10/85 Minigames);
First and foremost, while they definitely won't release a new Animal Crossing immediately after this the new one doesn't necessarily have to be years away... and even if it actually is sadly that's just the reality of game development nowadays so personally I'm glad we're still getting reasons to revisit the previous entries in the meantime (and even more so in this case since it's not just on Switch 2 and by paying, most is free and available also on Switch) - also, while I'm glad the article touched on it I can't help but further stress that we should put the Switch 2 release schedule in perspective comparing it to:
other Nintendo systems including Switch (for that in particular just look at its first year as described by an article on this very site);
other current consoles as Switch 2 already has released or announced during its first year as many exclusives mostly by Nintendo as notable PS5 ones after all these years (compare their Wikipedia categories here and here respectively for example) and the less said about Xbox the better!
Couldn't agree more with this verdict as Keighin had it coming for what he did, but at the same time the court has refused to issue such a ridiculous permanent injunction (he being clearly in the wrong doesn't make Nintendo completely in the right) - again, how I wish Nintendo went exclusively after cases of blatant piracy like this one and left everyone else alone!
Nice trailer, the game keeps on looking great - looking forward to my copy and then playing it after having finally played the previous Stories games (even more so considering the save data bonuses, but that was the plan anyway and since I already have the games it's exclusively a matter of finding the time for them)... and after all that I'll consider the additional side story DLC, but personally I'd rather take transparency when it comes to such plans and so I'm definitely not delaying getting the base game just because of that!
Yet one more reason for me to finally play the NecroDancer games (also Shovel Knight, but at this point I'm waiting for Shovel of Hope DX first) - anyway, pretty cool and even more so since it isn't just for the latest game and so Rift, but also for the original Crypt!
Thanks for the review, unfortunate to hear for those interested in the online, fingers crossed they'll be able to improve it sooner rather than later (along with the difficulty issue which is even more important to me personally) - luckily in my case I'm interested mostly in everything else so I'm looking forward to checking this out when my copy arrives and I have the time for it!
As long as there's an upgrade for those who already have the Switch version (should be the case since it's a Switch 2 Edition, but I'm still waiting for official confirmation) I absolutely welcome it - looking forward to playing this game even more than I already was when I have the time for it!
Happy first anniversary Nintendo Music, while I haven't used it that much personally (if it were also on Switch 1 and/or 2 I'd use it way more often) it's pretty cool in general - speaking of, that's such a nice addition for the New Horizons soundtrack!
Excited for practically everything, but in particular the collabs (especially the Splatoon and even more so Zelda ones not only as I'm a big Nintendo fan, but also since they include new villagers) - looking forward to all that whenever I replay New Horizons for my channel!
@Suketoudara You don't lose whatever you've unlocked on your main island, only access to the archipelago (I remembered that being how it worked, but also found this article confirming it).
Unfortunate for those who wanted it included but yeah, not only the upcoming hotel addition is similar as already said here in the comments, but as the article mentions you can also have access to the DLC with an NSO Expansion Pack subscription (which again, can be just around €10 etc. per year if you share a subscription with friends and/or acquaintances, there are even some here on Nintendo Life doing so together) - of course if the DLC were included most certainly there would be complaints about the starting price of the Switch 2 Edition as that would definitely be way, way higher...
Love to see Legends Z-A still on top and selling that much on both Switch 1 and 2 (of course more on the former, but still)! Also happy personally to see Mario Kart World in 3rd, Once Upon a Katamari debuting in 4th and 9th, Ninja Gaiden 4 in 5th, Ghost of Yotei in 6th, Persona 3 Reload in 7th, the Galaxy games in 8th and last but not least Switch on top of the hardware charts and selling that much and yet still followed by Switch!
Thanks for compiling all the additions included in this Switch 2 Edition and update (even more so for those who haven't seen them yet, but it's a nice review for those who already have, me included) - so glad for those still playing New Horizons and looking forward to replaying it myself at some point!
Preordered Mortal Kombat, Dragon Quest I & II and Tales of Xillia physically from my usual retailer here in Italy, will eventually get Two Point Museum and Silver Bullet for sure (voting for the games up to here in the poll), most likely also Majogami, maybe Harvest Moon as well and that should be it unless I missed something and not counting potential additions thanks to future comments here!
How I wish game mechanics weren't able to be patented tout court so that nobody (not only Nintendo, but also Sega just to make another relatively recent example of such patents and even a lawsuit based on them) could abuse them - that said, glad that at least this specific one has been rejected in Japan, fingers crossed they won't grant it even after potential modifcations!
Great selection of games, happy for those going for them - me included when it comes to the games themselves for most of these although I doubt physically since I'm from Italy and so on as usual (unless they end up being retail distribution releases of course)!
Glad that these issues have been fixed (you really have to go out of your way for the first one as others here have already pointed out, but still) - looking forward to starting Legends Z-A myself as soon as my copy arrives!
Unfortunately not the same as GC Animal Crossing for those who wanted these games strictly included in New Horizons, but for those like me that simply enjoyed having Nintendo systems in Animal Crossing and even more so them being playable this is great - not sure which other games they'll include, but I'm looking forward to discovering that (most likely not by playing myself as I'm not replaying New Horizons anytime soon and I'll most certainly end up seeing/hearing it somewhere else before that, but still)!
So as expected it will eventually come and it's just a matter of time (and even more so since it does take more time than other soundtracks considering its scope and the technical aspects luckily already mentioned by at least some comments) - looking forward to it whenever they're ready to add it to Nintendo Music although I'd also like an in-game music player first and foremost!
Yet one more reason for me to play the previous Shantae games sooner rather than later (I've at least watched others playing some of them partially, but still) - anyway, so looking forward to seeing/hearing more about it whenever they're ready to show/tell us and then playing it when it comes out!
Yep, this is definitely one of the aspects that I like the most about this, especially the new villagers based on other Nintendo games - even better that this is part of the free update so not only those playing on Switch 2 but also Switch will be able to enjoy them (me included among the former whenever I replay New Horizons)!
@nessisonett Except that Switch 2 already has as many (if not more if you include certain rereleases like this Wikipedia category does) exclusives mostly by Nintendo released or announced for it during its first year as PS5 ones (according to this Wikipedia category unless you count indies if not straight up shovelware titles lacking coverage like in this other one) after all these years - I can see where you're coming from and I doubt we'll see new games in the series that got Switch 2 Editions immediately after those, but luckily overall Nintendo are definitely not making the same mistake as Sony and even more so Microsoft when it comes to exclusives!
Love to hear it for those still playing New Horizons to this day on Switch and even more so on Switch 2 - looking forward to checking these additions myself when I replay New Horizons (in this case certainly not before doing so for my channel whenever the time for it comes considering that you can't have more than an island on a system)!
While I luckily had previous Nintendo systems thanks to my older siblings and my parents got an N64 also for me and not just for them it's the GameCube the first console they really got for me and while I don't remember exactly which games I had at first I know for sure that I got Luigi's Mansion sooner rather than later... and I absolutely loved it for the reasons mentioned in this very review and personally I still find it impressive in many ways to this day even after having played its sequels - so glad that it's now also on NSO (still hope that the 3DS remake will eventually come to Switch 1 and/or 2 considering its additions)!
Haven't even just heard of any of these Biped games before so thanks for making me discover both - I'll definitely give them at least a try when I can (immediately getting the first one since I've just seen on Deku Deals that it's currently quite discounted)!
Original and standard for me (although I have switched to sidestep back in the day as it's technically a way to solve an early puzzle), but it's great that there are these options for those who might need them - anyway, looking forward to replaying Luigi's Mansion now that it's also on NSO, maybe on my own as well but for sure for my channel when the time for it comes!
Interesting, definitely would like to give this a try when I can now that I know it exists, what it's about and that it's coming also to Switch - regardless, always appreciate when older games are officially made available on modern platforms (and even more so when copies of the original cost way too much nowadays)!
It's just a matter of priorities - if whatever game, not just Pokémon ones, is overall enjoyable thanks to several positive factors like gameplay mechanics first and foremost, story, characters, setting, music and so on THAT will make that game not just "good enough", but great if not even better for many (absolutely me included as much as I wish mainline Pokémon games had voice acting etc. so that those already enjoying them would further do so) no matter if it has some negatives and regardless of how much the internet focuses on them...
Further confirmation that I'll most likely overall quite enjoy it just like I am enjoying Dragon Quest III - so looking forward to starting this as soon as I finish the latter!
Love to hear that there's such an addition other than the expected bug fixes - looking forward to playing this even more than I already was when I can (will try to at least get it as soon as possible regardless of when I have the time to play it)!
Good luck to those who'll take part in this (potentially me included although I'm not sure also because my copy hasn't arrived yet due to a delay - if not I'll just wait for the rerun although more than ranked battles I'm looking forward to the single player)!
Nice that this now has a release date - doubt I'll have the time for it when it comes out, but I'm definitely interested in playing it at some point now that it's coming to Switch!

Re: Surprise! Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Arrives Next Year
Love to hear it for those still playing New Horizons to this day on Switch and even more so on Switch 2 - looking forward to checking these additions myself when I replay New Horizons (in this case certainly not before doing so for my channel whenever the time for it comes considering that you can't have more than an island on a system)!
Re: Review: Luigi's Mansion (GameCube) - A Spooky Little Romp That Still Sucks You In
While I luckily had previous Nintendo systems thanks to my older siblings and my parents got an N64 also for me and not just for them it's the GameCube the first console they really got for me and while I don't remember exactly which games I had at first I know for sure that I got Luigi's Mansion sooner rather than later... and I absolutely loved it for the reasons mentioned in this very review and personally I still find it impressive in many ways to this day even after having played its sequels - so glad that it's now also on NSO (still hope that the 3DS remake will eventually come to Switch 1 and/or 2 considering its additions)!
Re: Biped 2 Waddles Onto Switch Next Month With Even More Nintendo-Style Co-Op Chaos
Haven't even just heard of any of these Biped games before so thanks for making me discover both - I'll definitely give them at least a try when I can (immediately getting the first one since I've just seen on Deku Deals that it's currently quite discounted)!
Re: PSA: Struggling With Luigi's Mansion's Inverted Controls? You Can 'Fix' Them On NSO
Re: Rare NES Platformer 'Little Samson' Is Coming To Switch In 2026
Interesting, definitely would like to give this a try when I can now that I know it exists, what it's about and that it's coming also to Switch - regardless, always appreciate when older games are officially made available on modern platforms (and even more so when copies of the original cost way too much nowadays)!
Re: Talking Point: When Did 'Good Enough' Become Good Enough For Pokémon?
It's just a matter of priorities - if whatever game, not just Pokémon ones, is overall enjoyable thanks to several positive factors like gameplay mechanics first and foremost, story, characters, setting, music and so on THAT will make that game not just "good enough", but great if not even better for many (absolutely me included as much as I wish mainline Pokémon games had voice acting etc. so that those already enjoying them would further do so) no matter if it has some negatives and regardless of how much the internet focuses on them...
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake
@AlanaHagues There's a typo when you can fix it, "9/10m".
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake
Further confirmation that I'll most likely overall quite enjoy it just like I am enjoying Dragon Quest III - so looking forward to starting this as soon as I finish the latter!
Re: Shujinkou Has Been Updated On Switch, Here Are The Patch Notes
Love to hear that there's such an addition other than the expected bug fixes - looking forward to playing this even more than I already was when I can (will try to at least get it as soon as possible regardless of when I have the time to play it)!
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battles Season 2 Start Date And Rewards Revealed
Good luck to those who'll take part in this (potentially me included although I'm not sure also because my copy hasn't arrived yet due to a delay - if not I'll just wait for the rerun although more than ranked battles I'm looking forward to the single player)!
Re: Award Winning Photo Puzzler 'Viewfinder' Snaps Up December Switch Release Date
Nice that this now has a release date - doubt I'll have the time for it when it comes out, but I'm definitely interested in playing it at some point now that it's coming to Switch!
