Re: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Gets A New Movie Poster

JohnnyMind

Love that Mario and apparently also Luigi are visiting the Sand Kingdom in this movie and so we'll see more of it than the glimpse in the previous one - so looking forward to watching it (and of course seeing/hearing more about it in the meantime through trailers, posters like in this case etc.), will absolutely try to do so day one just like last time!

Re: Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Switch 2 Upgrade Gets Last-Minute Delay

JohnnyMind

Nice that this version is getting a physical edition for those interested in it (not me included since I already have a Switch physical copy, I'll just get the upgrade which should also be available considering it's a Switch 2 Edition) - personally, don't mind delays in general and even less so for such a reason!

Re: Digital Foundry Covers The "Disappointing Tech" In Pokémon Legends: Z-A

JohnnyMind

Some people will never be satisfied one way or the other, just look at the reactions to Age Of Imprisonment despite Digital Foundry themselves overall praising it last time - sorry, but games being fun and even more so for many (most likely me included in this case based on what I've seen and heard of it, unfortunately haven't played it as my copy hasn't arrived yet although I'd say the same anyway) and their creators being able to continue making them has always been and will keep on being what matters first and foremost and even more so nowadays that gaming is plagued by way, way more serious issues like all the lay-offs and so on!

Re: Top 100 Nintendo Games, As Chosen By Nintendo Life & IGN

JohnnyMind

Overall great list regardless of personal opinions on the ranking, it encompasses practically all Nintendo systems and kinds of games - even more than seeing the usual suspects at the top as expected, I'm happy to see no matter if near the bottom some games that were far from guaranteed to be included considering the sheer number of candidates, 999 just to make an example (and while it had a higher chance and so is unsurprisingly also higher in the ranking I love to see Elite Beat Agents, too)!

Re: Preview: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Great, But I Want To Kill One Of Its Characters

JohnnyMind

@SalvorHardin I can see where you're coming from, but as I've just mentioned in the other comment section after watching the latest trailer which at last introduces the Galactic Federation Troopers Samus is still on her own most of the time - I can't help but feel that it's yet another bike and especially "open world" (as others and I had guessed the latter is actually more of a Hyrule Field) situation!

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets The Trailer We've Been Waiting For

JohnnyMind

Samus is on her own more often than not even in this trailer that at last shows the Galactic Federation Troopers so yeah, not particularly worried myself (to be honest I don't particularly care about that either way in the first place, but still) - anyway, great trailer, so looking forward to playing Prime 4 myself as soon as my copy arrives!

Re: Review: Videoverse (Switch) - Miiverse-Inspired Visual Novel Is Beautifully Human

JohnnyMind

Thanks for the review, definitely interested in giving this a try myself at some point - seems like a great reminder that we could and should be nicer to each other on the internet in general and such online communities in particular (of course nobody is perfect and so we can all make mistakes from time to time, me included as much as I've been striving to do that here on Nintendo Life and elsewhere, but still)!

Re: Nintendo Today! App Update Adds A New Widget And News Filter

JohnnyMind

@ShadLink Doubt it will ever happen not only because of the additional work involved in setting that up, but also considering the potential confusion for more "casual" users (and even more so since all the other apps would most certainly stay as they are) - to be honest, it's much more convenient the way NSO currently works instead of having to download each game also for me, especially considering that I've downloaded the Japanese apps, too.

Re: Nintendo Today! App Update Adds A New Widget And News Filter

JohnnyMind

Yeah, not only as already mentioned above each app has a different purpose, but also if they were combined you'd have more storage occupied even if you aren't interested in all the fuctions (ironically enough that's what some have been complaining about GameCube NSO despite it making way more sense to have all those games in a single app, again damned if you do and damned if you don't) - leaving that aside, nice little additions, happy for those using Today!

Re: It's Official, Red Dead Redemption Is Coming To Switch 2 This December

JohnnyMind

Waiting to hear confirmation that the upgrade will be available also for those who have the Switch version physically (more likely than not, but it all depends on how they'll implement it and we've just seen an exception in Kiwami) - that said, love to hear that this is now confirmed, there will be an upgrade and of course even more so since it will be free!

Re: Trails In The Sky 2nd Chapter Scheduled For 2026 Release

JohnnyMind

Love to hear it, so looking forward to it (and while of course the platforms aren't confirmed yet most likely it will come also to Switch 1 and/or 2) - further confirms that as soon as I have an additional slot in my gaming schedule apart from the ones I'll reserve for Nintendo games first and foremost I'll start Trails in the Sky!

Re: Nintendo Download: 13th November (North America)

JohnnyMind

Preordered Sparking Zero from my usual retailer here in Italy, will eventually get for sure Victory Road, SpongeBob, Kiwami, Kiwami 2 (voting for the games up to here in the poll), the Ryza games, Dave the Diver, Goodnight Universe, Overcooked 2 and Winter Burrow, maybe Morsels and that should be it unless I missed something - curious to see if there will be any additions thanks to others' comments despite all the games I've already mentioned!

Re: Feature: 10 Years On, Is Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival Really That Bad?

JohnnyMind

Yeah, even though I also enjoyed it to an extent thanks to its charming aspects unfortunately the forced amiibo gimmick and especially the straying from the Mario Party formula (not necessarily due to the former aspect, let's not forget that Mario Party games themselves suffered from that at the time) bring it quite down to the point that while I wouldn't call it straight up bad I can't say it's good either - honestly, I'd love to see Nintendo revisit the concept as long as they improve on those aspects!

Re: Red Dead Redemption Has Been Rated For The Switch 2

JohnnyMind

Hope there will be an upgrade regardless of it being free or paid for those who already have the game on Switch (hopefully no matter if they got it physically or digitally unlike Kiwami) - that said, nice that Red Dead Redemption is getting a Switch 2 version in the first place, looking forward to playing it myself when I can even more than I already was... and of course fingers crossed the sequel eventually comes, too!

Re: Random: Steam's Brand New Game Console Sure Looks Awfully Familiar

JohnnyMind

As others have already mentioned more than the GameCube it's straight up a cube and its aesthetic is closer to a Series X - leaving that aside, happy for those interested in this (not me included as I'd still like a Steam Deck successor first and foremost whenever it happens, not going back from the convenience of hybrid systems)!

Re: "We Would Rather Cut Off Our Own Arms" - Demonschool Studio Necrosoft Lets You Know What It Thinks About Using AI

JohnnyMind

What some don't or refuse to realize is that certain games straight up wouldn't exist and so all the human creators involved in making them wouldn't get paid for them if it weren't for AI usage in general and yes, even genAI specifically (there are even those willing to sacrifice human creators in the name of their crusade against those like in the case of Everybody's Golf Hotshots)...
Again, as I mentioned before it's exclusively a matter of usage - it can be used because devs simply can't afford it otherwise and/or in a sensible manner to not reduce the quality (an example of both is Broken Sword according to this article along with all the mostly positive reviews of the game when it came out), the biggest problem is that there are the companies forcing their developers to use it even though it negatively affects their work (like EA staff reportedly for example) and even more so using it as an excuse to get rid of their human employees despite being able to afford them only due to greed!

Re: Mini Review: Yakuza Kiwami (Switch 2) - Kiryu's Debut, Smoother Than Ever

JohnnyMind

Missed opportunity for this to have an actual upgrade and so compatible also with the physical version (although considering that most games by Sega don't have upgrades at all I'm glad at least those who got this digitally are covered this time) - anyway, thanks for the review, looking forward to playing Kiwami after finishing 0 regardless of the version although I'll definitely consider getting the Switch 2 one!

Re: Review: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Switch 2) - One Of The Series' Very Best

JohnnyMind

Thanks for the review, looking forward to this even more than I already was (doubt anytime soon considering that I'm currently playing 0 and I'll then play the first Kiwami before it, but still) - glad the wealth of stuff to do including but not limited to side activities has been highlighted this time since it's a signature feature of the series based on what I've always heard and now also experienced to an extent myself!

Re: Two PS1 Curios From 'Doshin The Giant' Creator Are Heading To The Switch

JohnnyMind

Thanks for the descriptions in the article, had no clue what Tail of the Sun was about beyond cavemen and the sun based on the trailer - anyway, pretty cool that these are coming to Switch, will consider giving them a try at some point myself (not sure if they'll come out also outside of Japan and especially localized, but fingers crossed that will be the case)!
