It's funny how they've updated more the demo than the base game so far - anyway, hope even more people will give Tomodachi Life a try thanks to this and then potentially get the full release (had already preordered a copy myself, but I still played the demo both on stream and on my own for the bonus costume and to start playing earlier)!
Love to hear it for those interested in playing Final Fantasy XIV with these controls (had no doubt that would include @Varoennauraa when it comes to mouse mode and while its absence isn't a dealbreaker for me I'm always glad whenever it's supported) - as also incidentally mentioned by Yoshida-san according to the article, one of the coolest aspects of Switch 1 and even more so 2 is the wealth of ways to play and how easy it is to switch between them!
Pretty cool that the celebrations include all that, especially those games - happy for those playing Fortnite in general or even just in occasion of this (maybe me included if my friends want to give these a try together) and May the 4th be with you!
A good reminder to be careful in general and even more so when it comes to not brand new products, especially so close to release - that said, hate to hear this happened!
Yeah, there's no stopping Tomodachi Life, especially in Japan - wish Pragmata sold more, though! Anyway, also happy for Pokopia in 2nd, World in 6th, New Horizons in 7th, Momotaro Dentetsu in 9th and of course Switch 2 on top of the hardware charts and yet still followed by Switch selling like that!
Not interested in this personally, but it certainly seems promising based on both the trailer and quote - fingers crossed this will be better than previous attempts and enjoyable for those interested in it!
Yet another piece of information suggesting that the dev kit situation on Switch 2 has been overblown (in addition to the devs getting them earlier like in this case back in 2024 again, other developers mentioned it being "a similar situation to the OG Switch" and that "dev kits are heavily restricted before a console launch and they usually remain restricted for a while afterwards … The Switch 2 has been very normal in this regard") - leaving that aside, great interview as usual, it's always a pleasure hearing directly from the creators and in particular I'm now even more excited for this game!
I'll eventually get Picross Konami for sure, most likely Constance and Monster Crown as well, maybe also This is Fine (waiting to see/hear more about it) and that should be it!
Nice that you got to play also this in advance Jim and love to hear that based on what you got to experience The Great Circle is like that on Switch 2 - looking forward to finally playing it myself (watched relatively little of a later area at a friend's house) when my copy arrives and I have the time for it even more than I already was and that's despite not being a fan of first person!
Not sure if it's for me personally considering the gameplay - regardless, it seems pretty cool and I'm glad it's now coming also to Switch (would be nice if the demo were eventually available also there)!
@Picola-Wicola It's a combination of it not being as much of a priority compared to games etc. and me waiting to see if I can find it discounted to at least an extent (by doing so I got an NSO N64 Controller at a lower price last year, surprisingly on My Nintendo Store) - that said, thanks for the recommendation, it further increases my interest in getting a Pro Controller myself at some point!
@N00BiSH Except that exactly based on the contents, especially the pictures, of Rosalina's Storybook people (and no, not just that infamous Game Theory episode) have been thinking about the possibility of Rosalina and Peach being related in some way or another ever since the first Galaxy game - even leaving that aside again, why not just wait to see if it actually happens and how it's implemented instead of automatically dismissing it, especially when Nintendo themselves have never done so?
Thanks for the review, seems like a quite interesting game (and by the way, nice that there are those modes for Switch 2) - will definitely consider playing it myself at some point and regardless, so glad it's now coming also to Switch!
Let's not forget that there's also the official Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip which as says the name lets you attach a charging cable and also has the GL/GR Buttons, that one has a starting price of $39.99 and as usual slightly less in other regions - personally, I'd go for that when it comes to a cheaper option (in fact, it's exactly what I'm considering if I don't straight up go for the Pro Controller at some point), but of course still hope that those opting for these will enjoy them!
Based on the title it sounds like a separate version of the game and so without an update/upgrade (also considering the unfortunate usual lack of those by Square Enix, but to be fair there have been a couple of exceptions), if that's the case I guess missing the original back in the day and not finding a physical copy at a decent price yet was a blessing in disguise - regardless, glad that a Switch 2 version of this game is coming if this gets confirmed!
Nice if confirmed (more likely than not considering it's a rating, but of course plans can change) and so glad Bandai Namco keep on bringing Tales of games to Switch in general - looking forward to properly starting this series myself when I can!
Reminder that Miyamoto-san himself said "[w]hen we were developing Super Mario Galaxy, the director for that game, Yoshiaki Koizumi, and I were discussing what Rosalina and Peach’s actual relationship was [...] but we never came to a conclusion. So we decided that let’s take this opportunity [the movie] to give this idea some meat and get into the specificity of it", just like according to the directors Mario's relatives are based on "sketches that they [Nintendo] had done years ago that they had never used" - no matter your personal preference (and regardless, I'm waiting to see if it actually ever gets implemented in the games and then how first and foremost), please stop acting as if Nintendo themselves haven't been considering these things for a long time, way before they started working on these movies because that's straight up false...
Didn't expect an additional story for the book now, nice - looking forward to replaying Galaxy 2 (and also the first game of course) even more whenever its time comes for my channel!
Glad the item leaf statue is straight up in the catalogue now so those who missed the 25th Anniversary celebrations (me included) will still be able to get it - looking forward to that and replaying New Horizons in general at some point for my channel!
Thanks for the review, fingers crossed this can improve through patches (not as confident that will be the case unlike System Shock, both are published by Atari but that one was developed by Nightdive) - not interested in it personally considering the genre and even more so it being in first person, but I really hope that for those who are!
@AlanaHagues There's a typo when you can fix it, "No, the Chamber Dungeon in Link's Awakening on Switch quite scratch the itch" ("doesn't" is missing).
Best of luck and it looks fantastic, indeed - definitely checking it out myself if it comes out without issues (and of course the same applies to Seed of Life, too)!
It's the usual combination of Nintendo's overprotectiveness of their IPs and how copyright works in general and especially in America - how I wish that weren't the case and so everyone would benefit from it as while people always bring up what this and other creators gain from it (and by the way, we've seen takedowns even when money isn't involved at all) let's not forget that people discover and/or further get interested in Pokémon etc. and so then (further) support the official products exactly thanks to stuff like this!
Definitely won't say no to more games à la top-down Zelda and even more so based on the twist and everything else shown in the trailer - looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this first (potentially also a review and/or comments here on Nintendo Life), but most likely I'll eventually get and play this myself and so I've already added it to my Deku Deals wishlist!
@MyUsernameWasTaken They couldn't without changing the meaning, based on how it's worded I presume Krossplay is available also on Switch except for the Mortal Kombat Trilogy - if that's the case I'm glad Switch 1 also has Krossplay apart from that game (and if I recall correctly 4 as well, but in that case because online doesn't work on Switch 1 for that game, period)!
Not sure how much I'd use Krossplay myself but still, yet another reason to get the Switch 2 version instead of the Switch one (how I wish it were an update/upgrade instead of a completely different version and so there wouldn't be that downside) - anyway, looking forward to getting and then eventually playing this Kollection even more than I already was!
Yeah no thanks, I'll just wait for similar if not better discounts on the eShop (still looking forward to playing both games, definitely not skipping them just for this reason) - on the other hand, I've already preordered Indiana Jones and so I can't wait for my copy of that to arrive and then play it when I have the time for it!
"That does not mean it is the most visually impressive version of the game" and so on... why people still expect (or better yet, demand) a relatively cheap handheld to be as powerful as way more expensive home consoles and/or portable PCs?
I'm all for mentioning the objective positives and negatives even when it comes to the technical aspects - and to be fair these previews do so unlike others -, but we could do without the abovementioned insistence as it only fuels ridiculous exaggerations of games being "unplayable" etc. when that's far from the case!
Glad to hear Part 3 is proceeding as planned - looking forward to it whenever it comes out (of course not playing it myself anytime soon since I have to play Remake and Rebirth first, but still)!
@DennisReynolds Should've specified it to avoid misunderstandings but yes, funny way to announce a more precise date (if I recall correctly they just mentioned it coming in May back then) - that said, thanks for telling me in case I actually didn't know!
Pretty clear, there are different Links even just according to the games (and also timeline which I still think is neat as a background element personally) and so that's why - regardless, nice article and again, Happy 40th Anniversary Zelda series!
Save data transfer is always welcome when it comes to such demos (won't play this one myself since by the time I get to Rebirth the full release will have come out, but still) - watched only a couple of parts here and there of the video and yep, looks overall great to me and I'm so looking forward to being able to play this myself eventually thanks to it coming also to Switch 2!
Seems like a little too early for the third Mario movie as much as I'd love it, but it's a possibility (also it could get delayed like it happened to the first one) - regardless, looking forward to seeing what this ends up being if confirmed whenever they're ready to announce it!
Funny way to announce it although of course not officially yet (curious to see what it actually is whenever they're ready) - anyway, glad to hear it and hope people will enjoy it!
Thanks for the review, glad to hear Monster Crown got a sequel and that it's even better than the original (have at least heard of that before, too bad I didn't get to know about this one in time to support it myself on Kickstarter) - hope those going for it will have fun, most likely me included at some point!
The more old games coming to contemporary platforms (of course in particular Switch 1 and/or 2 for me personally) the better no matter how good they are - that said, even more interested in this considering what others mentioned about some of the games included!
Don't think I've ever seen themed coffins even just on the internet before - yeah not gonna lie either, it is cool in a way as much as I'm not interested in such a thing personally (wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo went after them and at least in this case it would make sense unlike when they tried doing so to a supermarket exclusively due to its name)!
As usual I won't just check the new character out, but also take part in the related festival on stream - definitely won't say no to Majima myself, especially now that I'm finally playing Yakuza myself (that said, I'm looking forward to Arle even more)!
Always love to see such ways to further promote both things involved and even more so in this case since it's between Tetris 99 (so glad that keeps on being supported) and Living the Dream - hope those taking part in this event will have fun and enjoy the theme!
Nice to finally see a Mario sports soundtrack on Nintendo Music (as already mentioned here it's the first one) - fingers crossed we'll get more and more of them!
Love to hear this one was overall great for those who have already watched it, hopefully that will be the case for many if not most others, too - based on trailers first and even more so what's mentioned here now I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, it certainly seems to be more like actual Mortal Kombat this time (not watching it myself at least for now, but if I ever do I'll most likely straight up check this one out)!
Haven't played Remake yet so I'll most likely straight up play the full release when I get to Rebirth myself - anyway, so glad there's a demo for those interested in giving this a try before potentially getting it!
Same, Remake (haven't played it yet, will do so as soon as I can) and then Rebirth will be my first time playing Final Fantasy VII despite already knowing most if not everything about it - looking forward to this second game even more than I already was after reading this and glad you got the chance to play it, Jim!
Thanks for the review, now I'm even more interested than I already was in this game overall (and that's despite its genre as I'm not a fan of first person) - absolutely preordering a physical copy as soon as I can!
Not interested in these myself (and not just considering the high cost), but it's quite interesting that such a thing is possible in the first place - hope those going for them will enjoy them!
