@Jeronan Separate SKUs are certainly possible in general and could be even possible to implement at least after since as I already pointed out what's said here is that they were not possible, most likely for the reason you mentioned. That said and even if they aren't possible after that's not all there is to this matter, again based on the statements of both and what happened to other games in the past: AdHoc mentioned that they should be able to push an update addressing the censorship at least in part (why that should be possible but not fully if it's just a matter of having different SKUs?) although of course it takes time to implement, that's why I unfortunately think Nintendo's guidelines are genuinely what will prevent Dispatch to ever be fully uncensored unlike on other platforms - I'd love to be proven wrong and of course we'll just have to wait and see, but what has already been said along with the fact that games rated without issues and released fully uncensored on other platforms are at the very least censored if not straight up banned exclusively on Nintendo ones isn't encouraging at all...
Makes sense considering the popularity of not only Wii back in the day, but also way more recently Switch Sports with its 17.84 million sales - anyway, nice little ad and I'm so looking forward to Mario Tennis Fever myself!
Makes sense and it's a win-win for everyone involved, both players and Nintendo - haven't jumped back into New Horizons myself yet (not only considering all the games I'm currently playing but also the one island per system limitation, I'm starting a new one whenever I replay New Horizons for my channel), but I'm absolutely looking forward to eventually doing so even more than I already was thanks to the update!
Nice predictions as usual, looking forward to seeing which of those games end up being part of this Partner Showcase (the ones I'd like to see the most and so I'm voting for in the poll are Clair Obscur, Metaphor and Professor Layton) - other than those also based on previous news I'd say, and also really hope so, we could finally get Hi-Fi Rush... and of course there will be also complete surprises and I can't wait for those, too!
Nice little teaser, curious to see what they'll show of both this and the Mario Galaxy Movie - definitely not watching the Super Bowl which I'm not interested in (in addition to it being at a late hour here in Italy) just for those though, will check them out online later!
Yeah, makes sense that Sugimori-san rejected such designs for regular Pokémon - glad they were eventually utilized for the Ultra Beasts though and so Omura-san's work on those wasn't for nothing (by the way, interesting to hear here in the comments which ones are by other artists)!
As expected but still, so looking forward to it (as usual watching it live on my own in Italian and then the next day in Japanese for my channel) - can't wait to see what third parties have in store for Switch 1 and especially 2 next and even more so after the several quality ports and even day-and-date releases they've already brought to the latter... curious if there will be a sneaky game by Nintendo à la Endless Ocean despite it being a Partner Showcase, would be the cherry on top of the hopefully delicious third-party main course!
I should give at least some of the other games in the genre already on Switch like those mentioned in the article and comments a try when I can first and foremost, but I'm definitely interested in this - glad it's coming to PC at the end of March and fingers crossed it will then come to Switch sooner rather than later (of course without rushing it, but still)!
Didn't know this game came out in Japan last year, seems pretty good based on what's mentioned in the article and trailer (potentially objectively better and/or appealing to more than Fashion Dreamer) - anyway, glad to hear that it got rated by the ESRB and so should eventually get a Western release for those interested in it!
Honestly, if people genuinely interested in getting and keeping Nintendo's shares (couldn't agree more about "how fickle investors can be") will now do so thanks to the lower price then that's great - regardless, glad the numbers in the latest financial report went up as that's what matters the most!
Thanks for the review, not sure if I'll ever play this myself considering its themes and the cons mentioned (and there are other games in general and in particular Metroidvanias I'd like to try before considering it anyway), but I'm glad that it's overall pretty good and available also on Switch for those interested in it!
@DarkTron I'm not saying at all that the current situation is solely Nintendo's fault, it's also AdHoc's (and when it comes to the communication it's fully on the latter, they even said it themselves), what I'm saying first and foremost is that most likely Dispatch will never fully be uncensored on Switch 1 and 2 outside of Japan exclusively due to Nintendo's guidelines, again based on the statements of both parties and what happened to other games in the past despite being rated without issues both in Japan and elsewhere - please stop accusing me of something I'm not saying and even more so with the personal attacks.
Good to hear that this is coming also to Switch for those interested in it (maybe me included at some point, but it's not a priority) - even better that those additional contents are bundled in that version!
Ooh, definitely excited for update 1.7 even more than I already was - looking forward to properly playing Stardew Valley myself whenever this (and also the Switch 2 Edition in Europe, but most likely I'll just wait until the former anyway) comes out and as soon as I have the time for it!
I'm waiting for it to actually happen first and foremost - that said, even if it did Nintendo would be the last I'd blame for it both considering the global situation causing it and all the good to them already mentioned here unlike the unfortunately way too many (gaming) companies that also contribute to said global situation in addition to laying-off their employees and so on...
I'd be surprised if that weren't the case considering the cardboard variant coming out in occasion of NSO Virtual Boy, but fingers crossed it ends up being confirmed for those who have Labo VR - I wonder if any peripheral is actually required because unless they purposely block it you should be able to see the two screens also in docked (of course you wouldn't get the 3D effect and you'd want to hide one of the screens in some way or another but still, better than nothing)...
Imagine having to at the very least delay your current release if not even cancel it and restart the whole process from the beginning assuming that's actually possible after a certain point exclusively because unexpectedly your game doesn't meet Nintendo's guidelines unlike Cyberpunk and so on, wouldn't you simply extend the change already there when the selected language is Japanese due to the rating to everyone else?
Because most likely that's what happened based on both AdHoc and Nintendo's statements, what's publicly known about publishing games on the eShop etc. and why hopefully they should and I quote "be able to push an update to address at least some of the censored content" while "separate SKUs were not possible for different regions" (added the bold to pinpoint the tense) - all that said, my point has always been first and foremost that people could and should look at the forest that is Nintendo's censorship damaging games and their creators in general instead of being so fixated on the tree that is AdHoc's mistakes in this particular case, even more so since it seems that the latter will eventually be fixed, but Dispatch will never be fully uncensored on Switch 1 and 2 exactly due to the former...
@wiiwouldliketoplay Most likely it's just a matter of budget as shown also by its starting price (personally I don't blame them exactly considering what happened to ARMS, not to mention that I appreciate Nintendo releasing also games like this, Kirby's Dream Buffet etc. from time to time) as they clearly put love in making this game as shown by it still getting updates including major ones, how they made it and so on - speaking of, @Oldstalk the devs trying wheelchair basket for this game and what they mentioned about it alone should show that it far from disrespects people in wheelchair...
Yeah, being an X.X.1 version it makes sense that it includes only fixes but still, glad that they keep on updating Drag x Drive - have tried it on stream when it came out and overall enjoyed it, definitely interested in playing more of it from time to time (and especially after the previous major updates)!
Could be a mistake simply in the sense that nothing is actually supposed to come this year but I doubt it, like others here my guess is most likely a Switch 2 Edition for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, maybe although certainly less likely a new game - if it's either of those I'm absolutely looking forward to it whenever they're ready to announce it (the former would be even better for me personally in the relatively short time as I'm now playing X, then I'll play 1 and of course after that it will be the turn of 2 which is the game that needs a Switch 2 Edition the most based on what I've heard)!
Not particularly surprised and as long as it's actually just paused then focusing on improving the already released versions of the game first and foremost makes sense - fingers crossed it will still come out on Switch 2 at some point for those interested in it (potentially me included at some point although I should give the previous Borderlands a try before considering it anyway)!
Love to see Thai and Polish added to yet another game for those who need it or even just interested in them for practice etc. (as usual would be nice to know what the "other adjustments and fixes" actually are though) - hope even more people will have fun playing Jamboree that way!
Not the biggest additions, but I love to see even such games coming to NSO - looking forward to playing both when I can, in particular Balloon Kid as I've never played it unlike Yoshi which I played on emulator when it comes to this particular version and the NES one also on original hardware as a kid (I'll most likely play the Japanese version of the former game on my channel not only considering the mentioned additional features, but also the in-game writings so it's perfect for that)!
Love to hear that practically everyone mentioned here enjoyed the gameplay and multiplayer (fingers crossed for the single player etc. although based on what we've seen those look great, too) - so looking forward to the review here on Nintendo Life and then playing it myself when I can!
Oh wow there are a lot of additions/changes and even some big ones in this update - hope those playing Civ VII will enjoy them (me included whenever I play this myself, for sure now as I've finally got a physical copy on sale and then the Switch 2 upgrade)!
Love to see such releases that further promote both upcoming games and Nintendo Music other than of course OSTs like this one being great in themselves (fingers crossed we'll get the soundtrack of the new one sooner rather than later, too) - hope those who'll listen to this for the first time will enjoy it!
Nice, happy for those who'll be able to attend it - looking forward to watching the inevitable Presents (on my own live for sure, maybe the Japanese version afterwards for my channel but we'll see)!
So unsurprisingly it's a good game if not better, but your mileage may vary depending on your opinion on the changes - as someone who's never played it before I doubt I'll particularly mind those if not overall like them considering how they improve the pacing while other aspects like the quality-of-life features will most certainly make for a better experience whenever I play it myself!
Nice that you got to try this as well and that like most if not all (not just journalists, YouTubers etc. as much as I'm happy for them, but also people playing the demo on Steam) you enjoyed it, too - so glad this is coming also to Switch 2 in general and also personally as I'm absolutely interested in playing it myself!
Glad to hear you got to try the NSO Virtual Boy and overall enjoyed it - I'm so looking forward to finally trying it myself (depending on how it goes for me with the cardboard model despite my partial stereoblindness I'll then consider going for the actual headset although if this works also docked in the sense that you simply get two images I might play it that way by covering one of them)!
Personally, I'm looking forward to this Switch 2 Edition as everything (so yes, including the multiplayer stuff to an extent) that has been already announced appeals to me, but those on the fence will be able to tell if it's worth for them or not only when all its contents are known - of course you can't tell that based on a preview like this one focused on that single aspect...
@spiderman0616 Doubt (and also really hope that won't be the case of course) they'll straight up abandon the form factor of Switch 1 and 2, I'd say it's more likely that they'll find a way to add to it - anyway, couldn't agree more that these systems are overall the culmination of their experiments over the years and I absolutely love that in itself as a big Nintendo fan and even more so considering that it's been so successful for the sake of everyone involved, i.e. Nintendo, third parties and players!
Would've been pretty funny if Kamiya-san had been the next game developer to get a manga immediately after we heard of the one about Horii-san - anyway, a book is also pretty cool and even more so with such concept art, definitely interested in getting it myself at some point (hope it will eventually be released also outside of Japan for those who don't know Japanese)!
Yep, further confirmation that Switch 2 and its games are selling really well so if there's something doomed it's the narrative that they aren't (but of course there are still some trying to claim that these numbers aren't real as if retailers would keep on buying stuff they don't overall sell) - anyway, love to see it for Nintendo, third parties releasing their games also on Switch 2 and of course all those who got it, me included!
Most likely they'll eventually get there also considering how much previous games in these sub-series sold on on Switch, fingers crossed it will happen sooner rather than later also to start getting the official numbers although we do know Age of Imprisonment surpassed 1 million by now and so simply hasn't been counted yet for these (so that definitely should be in the next financial update in May, potentially also Prime 4) - regardless, I've been enjoying Age of Imprisonment myself and I'm looking forward to playing Prime 4 when I can!
As expected but still, love to have official confirmation and especially the numbers for both Switch 1 and 2 - glad the former sold this much regardless (not to mention of course my and others' enjoyment of the system itself and its games, now of course mostly on Switch 2 for me, which is what matters the most), but I have my fingers crossed it will eventually surpass PS2... unless Sony magically find additional sales yet again, but at that point it would be even more of a joke than it already is!
I get not being personally excited for these games/series, but people keep on disregarding how big they are, just look at how much they sold on Switch and in the case of Tomodachi Life on 3DS it sold 6.72 million... That said, it's literally just the start of the year so we'll definitely see more games by Nintendo and third parties, for the latter both ports of older games and day-and-date releases - most likely even if you don't consider the rumors there will be a Direct this month (no matter if it ends up being a Partner Showcase) while for sure there will be a Pokémon Presents and this year it's the 30th anniversary of that series!
It's also worth mentioning in addition to what's already in the article that Prime 4 came out in December 4th so yeah, unfortunate but not surprising to not see it mentioned here - as for Wonder, I guess it hasn't surpassed U Deluxe yet (we'll see if it does so with the Switch 2 Edition at least when combining the sales assuming they get past 1 million and so we get to know those) while Age of Imprisonment surpassed 1 million and simply isn't present in the financial results yet most likely just due to timing.
Anyway, good to know about the games listed here, especially the Switch 2 ones also considering there aren't particular changes for the Switch ones - glad Legend Z-A and Air Riders got past 1 million (the former almost at 4 and the latter almost at 2) and that Bananza and of course especially Mario Kart World keep on selling!
Ended up not getting it back then which is unfortunate as it could've been fun for my niece at some point... so funnily enough the cardboard version for the Virtual Boy will end up being my first taste of something à la Labo!
Oof right in the feels but yeah, that was a cool watch (kudos to all those involved in its making) - looking forward to seeing/hearing more of Requiem including Nintendo Life's review and potentially I'll play it myself at some point... after finally giving the original Resident Evil 4 a try when I can first and foremost also considering that now I have it on Switch!
Pretty cool, definitely interested in checking it out myself at some point - curious to see who will be next if this ends up happening again (more likely than not at this point, but we'll see)!
Unfortunate to hear, but at the same time I'm not surprised considering most likely the lack of a Switch 2 version at launch (and related to that now the wait for the physical release before several people interested in the game buy it) and potentially other factors - regardless, fingers crossed it will keep on selling going forward and I'm glad to hear that for now they'll continue to support it!
Cute and I'm definitely interested in the features mentioned on paper (jokes aside, fingers crossed it will be good also in practice) - regardless, glad it's coming also to Switch!
Thanks for the review, unfortunately missed it on 3DS back in the day so I'm glad they've now remade this game and even more so since this version in particular is so good with its pacing, quality-of-life features etc. - looking forward to playing it myself when I can even more than I already was (not anytime soon though considering that I haven't finished playing Dragon Quest III yet despite rolling the credits and that I have I & II to play after that)!
Recognized Jon's voice immediately, nice that he's the narrator of this trailer - the game itself looks pretty good to me as well, definitely interested in seeing/hearing more of it and most likely eventually playing it myself!
Love to hear that this got such a positive response (if possible I'd love a review also here on Nintendo Life at some point) - supported it myself on Kickstarter so I've already got a copy, can't wait to play it as soon as I have the time for it!
@SuperEndriu The advantages of GKC are also lending them to family and/or friends without any limitations (Virtual Game Cards overall improved the situation digitally, but are still more limited than actual cartridges including GKC) and of course there's also the collection aspect to them while for digital the convenience of not having to physically swap cards etc. - regardless of how you end up getting it hope you have fun playing FF7 Remake, so looking forward to doing so myself when I can!
As expected since many if not most got FF7 Remake at its launch on Switch 2 while almost no one is getting it physically on PS5 anymore as shown by these very charts, considering that (and of course all the digital sales not present here) I'm glad to see it at least in 17th!
Also personally happy to see Mario Kart World in 1st, New Horizons in 2nd, Legends Z-A in 3rd, 8 Deluxe in 4th, the Galaxy bundle in 8th, Bananza in 10th, Jamboree in 11th, Switch Sports in 14th, Prime 4 in 16th, Wonder in 18th, The Witcher III in 19th, Hogwarts Legacy still in 20th and selling the most on Switch 1 and 2 etc.!
Thanks for the review (glad Nintendo Life got yet another book for the sake of writing this and also your own, Jim), really seems like a great book in general and especially for Nintendo fans like us - absolutely getting it myself as soon as I can!
Between these the one that will probably appeal to me the most is Dispatch (waiting to see how the situation evolves on Switch 2 before getting and playing it myself, but looking forward to playing it in some way or another in the future) - anyway, small but great selection for January, happy for those playing any of these games!

Re: Legendary Developer And Insect Blocker Hideki Kamiya Is Getting His Own Book
Re: Switch 2 Storms Towards Its Forecast Target With 17.37 Million Units Sold
Yep, further confirmation that Switch 2 and its games are selling really well so if there's something doomed it's the narrative that they aren't (but of course there are still some trying to claim that these numbers aren't real as if retailers would keep on buying stuff they don't overall sell) - anyway, love to see it for Nintendo, third parties releasing their games also on Switch 2 and of course all those who got it, me included!
Re: Metroid Prime 4 & Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Sales Get Off To A Slow Start
Re: It's Official, The Switch Is Nintendo's Best-Selling Console Of All Time
As expected but still, love to have official confirmation and especially the numbers for both Switch 1 and 2 - glad the former sold this much regardless (not to mention of course my and others' enjoyment of the system itself and its games, now of course mostly on Switch 2 for me, which is what matters the most), but I have my fingers crossed it will eventually surpass PS2... unless Sony magically find additional sales yet again, but at that point it would be even more of a joke than it already is!
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch 2 Games
I get not being personally excited for these games/series, but people keep on disregarding how big they are, just look at how much they sold on Switch and in the case of Tomodachi Life on 3DS it sold 6.72 million...
That said, it's literally just the start of the year so we'll definitely see more games by Nintendo and third parties, for the latter both ports of older games and day-and-date releases - most likely even if you don't consider the rumors there will be a Direct this month (no matter if it ends up being a Partner Showcase) while for sure there will be a Pokémon Presents and this year it's the 30th anniversary of that series!
Re: Here's A Look At The Best-Selling Switch And Switch 2 Games So Far
Re: Talking Point: Where's Your Nintendo Labo Now?
Ended up not getting it back then which is unfortunate as it could've been fun for my niece at some point... so funnily enough the cardboard version for the Virtual Boy will end up being my first taste of something à la Labo!
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Live-Action Short Takes Us Right Back To The Beginning
Re: Yuji Horii Is Following Sakurai's Lead With His Own Manga Biography
Pretty cool, definitely interested in checking it out myself at some point - curious to see who will be next if this ends up happening again (more likely than not at this point, but we'll see)!
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Fails To Meets Sega's Expectations
Unfortunate to hear, but at the same time I'm not surprised considering most likely the lack of a Switch 2 version at launch (and related to that now the wait for the physical release before several people interested in the game buy it) and potentially other factors - regardless, fingers crossed it will keep on selling going forward and I'm glad to hear that for now they'll continue to support it!
Re: Baladins Is An Adorable Tabletop-Inspired Co-Op RPG With A Papercraft Aesthetic
Cute and I'm definitely interested in the features mentioned on paper (jokes aside, fingers crossed it will be good also in practice) - regardless, glad it's coming also to Switch!
Re: Review: Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined (Switch 2) - A Fantastic Makeover & The Best-Looking DQ Ever
Re: 'Under The Island' Looks Packed With Minish Cap-Style Charm In New Release Date Trailer
Recognized Jon's voice immediately, nice that he's the narrator of this trailer - the game itself looks pretty good to me as well, definitely interested in seeing/hearing more of it and most likely eventually playing it myself!
Re: ICYMI: Paper Mario-Styled RPG 'Escape From Ever After' Has Launched On Switch
Love to hear that this got such a positive response (if possible I'd love a review also here on Nintendo Life at some point) - supported it myself on Kickstarter so I've already got a copy, can't wait to play it as soon as I have the time for it!
Re: UK Charts: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Plummets As Familiar Faces Retake The Podium
Re: UK Charts: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Plummets As Familiar Faces Retake The Podium
Re: Book Review: Super Nintendo: How One Japanese Company Helped The World Have Fun
Thanks for the review (glad Nintendo Life got yet another book for the sake of writing this and also your own, Jim), really seems like a great book in general and especially for Nintendo fans like us - absolutely getting it myself as soon as I can!
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (January 2026)
Between these the one that will probably appeal to me the most is Dispatch (waiting to see how the situation evolves on Switch 2 before getting and playing it myself, but looking forward to playing it in some way or another in the future) - anyway, small but great selection for January, happy for those playing any of these games!
