@SillyG Not sure why Nintendo Life didn't notify me about your comment (same for you @Mgalens and yeah, that still feels bizarre, indeed) but anyway, I do remember you mentioning how unfortunately ridiculous it is in Australia after the latest change - while the previous bump for simulated gambling from PG to M was debatable now it's straight up the opposite of how it should be!
Thanks for the review, still interested in giving this a try at some point (and that's despite not being familiar with the show, unfortunately have only watched a couple of episodes here and there back in the day) although definitely at the lowest difficulty - regardless, glad to see another good Star Trek game also on Switch 2 and fingers crossed it can become even better through patches fixing bugs first and foremost, potentially adding touchscreen and/or mouse etc.!
Fingers crossed this version will be good if not better in general and in particular on Switch - that said, glad to hear there's already a remastered version of the original on the system (completely missed it when it came out), definitely interested in checking out at least one of them if not both!
Lol that trailer - anyway, glad that the Into the Jungle DLC got a release date and nice that also Switch 2 is getting a Complete Edition physical release for those interested in it (most likely not me included as I've recently got the physical Switch 1 version, I'll just get the DLC digitally)!
Nice that this now has a release date and even more so since it's so soon - definitely getting it myself (most likely digitally unless the physical ends up being available also here in Italy without importing)!
Luckily I didn't encounter the "Dry and Dust-Covered Town" bug myself while the other ones will most likely be fixed by the time I get to them thanks to this upcoming update - anyway, couldn't agree more with others here, Pokopia is overall amazing (based on what I've seen, heard and relatively little played of it) and absolutely deserves to be successful!
This progressively improved each time we've seen it at such events so I have no doubts the full release will be overall more than fine if not better, especially after they delayed it to further work on it (fingers crossed for quality and performance modes, the more options the better) - regardless, looking forward to finally giving Elden Ring a try myself whenever it comes out on Switch 2!
A blessing in disguise not having had the time to play this yet - looking forward to finally doing so when I can even more than I already was thanks to this upgrade (fingers crossed it will be an actual, separate upgrade instead of a full discount of the new version on the eShop and so those who have the game physically like me will be able to get it as well)!
This is the weirdest controller we've seen reviewed here on Nintendo Life so far - definitely not interested in it myself, but I still hope those who are (or somehow genuinely need it for the heart-rate sensor even though I seriously doubt it) will enjoy it!
Preordered Monster Hunter Stories 3 from Japanese Amazon (wasn't available anymore on the Italian one), most likely I'll eventually get Shadow Tactics based on the little shown in the Partner Showcase and then heard elsewhere, maybe WWE 2K26 if I ever want to give one of those games a try and that should be it unless something mentioned by others here will pique my interest - there are a couple of other games that could potentially interest me like Snoopy & The Great Mystery Club, but I need to see/hear more about them!
@Game_n_Watch_it_pal Seems to be random, I've just got the ? Block - funnily enough at first I thought you'd get them in order as I had the one about the movie in general (that's the only one I suspect you always get first) and Mario so number 001 and 002!
Started collecting them, but forgot to do this today so thanks for the reminder (other than telling us about the Platinum Points, didn't know that) - it's a fun little extra and even more so with the accompanying descriptions on the road to the movie!
Finally, it was absolutely ridiculous that simulated gambling earned games 18 ratings (even more so in the case of a game like Balatro even though luckily that eventually got reduced to 12 as mentioned in the related article) while actual gambling in the form of loot boxes etc. didn't - the other changes are overall great, too!
Love to see Pokopia on top of the Japanese charts and selling so much - both physically and digitally, glad we have an idea also of the latter for a change thanks to them mentioning the 1 million total in Japan! Also personally happy to see Requiem in 2nd and 5th (funnily enough my Generation Pack has practically just arrived), Mario Kart World in 3rd, Tennis Fever in 4th, New Horizons in 6th and 8th, Dragon Quest VII funnily in 7th and 9th and of course Switch 2 on top of the hardware charts and selling that much, even more than usual... and yet still followed by Switch!
@Yosher Ah okay, thought you hadn't tried it before based on what you said - nice that F-Zero 99 is more up your speed and I'm so glad that both it and Tetris 99 are still continuing (how I wish the same applied to Mario 35, too)!
@OmnitronVariant Yeah, after leaving my comment I've seen the previous one mentioning that as well - I had vaguely heard of it before (definitely not it being paid though), but thanks for telling me more about it, it's quite interesting!
@AmplifyMJ Great present for her but yeah, also all of you - luckily now there are several Switch 2 cases available so you should be able to find one pretty easily and potentially also at a good price! @Yosher I'd say you could give Tetris 99 at least a try then (even more so if you already have an active NSO subscription) - based on what I've played of it on stream you shouldn't have issues unlocking this and other themes relatively quickly even if you aren't the best at Tetris and if I recall correctly it's the closest thing we got to a Nintendo-themed Tetris ever since DS!
Love to hear it since games themselves and their creators are what matters the most to me and clearly at the very least the former also to the silent majority as yet again proven by the sales of this and other games, but even more so because it's absolutely deserved based on what I've seen, heard and even played to an extent (so looking forward to playing more of it, funnily enough tonight as that's the time for it as part of my gaming schedule) - fingers crossed they'll start properly supplying it so that it can sell more also at retails in addition to the digital sales!
Always nice to see improvements to games beyond the expected bug fixes (as much as the latter are obviously welcome, too) - anyway, absolutely looking forward to giving this a try myself when I can!
Glad to see yet another update to further polish this already incredible game - so looking forward to playing it myself now that I've finally got it as soon as I can (so after finishing as in playing the Adventure and unlocking everything in Mario Tennis Fever, started with that since it will definitely take less time than doing the same in Air Riders)!
Didn't know this mode wasn't free-to-play and I'm surprised it wasn't so from the start - anyway, hope even more play and enjoy it thanks to that and it finally coming also to Switch 2 (potentially me included at some point although it's not a priority for me)!
@AmplifyMJ On vacation? Regardless, hope you enjoy your time in Spain - luckily if you decide to bring your Switch 2 for this (and potentially also playing something else offline on plane assuming you're taking that to get there) you can, that's the beauty of hybrid systems like the Switch family!
@BAN @Friendly Japan absolutely has its own problems, but these massive lay-offs are not one of them thanks to Japanese employment law and even though the staff reductions are technically happening also there due to the situation of the gaming industry as a whole it simply means that they're hiring less according to this recent article (and here you can find comments on reddit about that article, there are some pretty interesting additional points) - it's practically the same as Nintendo's strategy when it comes to acquiring development teams, less but more significant and lasting expansions instead of excessive acquisitions that inevitably lead to massive lay-offs... personally, I have no doubt which is the first and foremost smarter, but also by extension more ethical approach!
Fingers crossed this will be another good (glad that was the case for Winds of Anthos based on what I've heard) if not better Harvest Moon for those interested in it - potentially me included although for now I'm busy playing Guardians of Azuma and after that I'll definitely play Grand Bazaar first and foremost!
Yeah, not surprised this ended up happening - glad that backers can choose between a physical copy from another (hopefully legitimate this time) publisher or a refund!
Thanks for the review, glad to have further confirmation (have already heard about it from people in previous comment sections) that this is great, even more so since as much as I can see where you're coming from it being relatively short is more of a positive for me personally in addition to all the other "joys" mentioned - looking forward to playing it myself whenever I have the time for it, but in the meantime I've already got it!
Unfortunate that apparently it's mostly due to the questionable perception of how this game would've sold (personally, I had no doubt it would've done well, a Pokémon game with such mechanics and by those developers was a recipe for success unless something went horribly wrong), but at the same time I'm glad that for once it's the success of a game that causes a positive variation in share price instead of external factors negatively affecting them - anyway, good for Nintendo and absolutely deserved based on what I've seen, heard and to a more limited extent played myself of Pokopia!
That's inevitable to an extent, but conveying as much as possible what's said in the source language including as many of such nuances as possible while sounding overall natural in the target language is exactly what the purpose of a good translation should be - too bad that in unfortunately way too many cases that's definitely not the purpose behind localization changes, in the best of cases they might further simplify due to technical limitations, to make it more "popular" etc. (and in that sense they're absolutely right that English is much simpler at a basic level than other languages including Japanese), in the worst ones they alter not even "just" the style, but also the contents on purpose...
I can see where both are coming from because let's not forget that the state of the videogame industry is affecting not only workers, but also companies (of course when it comes to the latter there are those that created such situations themselves and/or laying off their employees regardless, but there are also ones genuinely struggling despite their efforts and nobody wants to get to that point) - that said, I think that goodwill should be shown by both parties involved and considering that Capcom apparently did offer "full A.I. protections" as he said himself I disagree with Diskin's decision personally, but of course it's up to him and I respect it anyway.
Glad to hear that there are also these improvements other than the usual bug fixes - right in time for me as I'm close to finishing Dragon Quest III and so starting this myself (although I could take a break and start FF7 Remake instead, we'll see)!
@Bats1234 Size could be a factor (although smaller games by Nintendo usually are straight up exclusively digital, just look at Welcome Tour and Drag x Drive for example), but even more so the publisher - Pokopia is the only exception so far and it's worth mentioning that it's published by The Pokémon Company in Japan.
And so yet again the claims about the prices of Switch 2 games in general and in particular Nintendo ones ever since the start of this generation (but also before to a lesser extent, remember the Tears of the Kingdom meltdown?) are disproven - leaving that aside, good to hear this in itself and also because preorders on Amazon and elsewhere should finally start!
Unfortunate to hear, but glad solo-play mode will still be available and even more so that they'll make those changes to compensate the closure of the online - how I wish more games of this kind did that instead of getting completely shut down!
Love to hear it, fingers crossed as many and more will get and enjoy the full release - downloaded the demo myself (gave it a try on stream) and of course I've preordered a copy after that!
@eldersnake I'd like to give at least some horror games a try and overall Resident Evil seems like one I could overall play (the kind of horror that is definitely not for me is the disturbing one more than jumpscares, tension etc. as much as I'm still not the biggest fan of those either) - considering the abovementioned, I'll give 4 a try first and foremost and only after that Requiem... but as much as I'm interested mostly if not exclusively in that game also depending on how my experience of 4 goes, I couldn't resist getting the Generation Pack physically while still available for collection, to potentially lend these games freely to friends and if needed resell them!
As much as I still think that Lego Mario as in the interactive figures etc. is a cool idea, I'm glad they're now releasing also regular minifigures (and so most certainly related sets) - looking forward to seeing and hearing more whenever they're ready to show it and most likely eventually getting those myself!

Noticed there was something in the background but not that they were Glow Pikmin, nice little cameo - looking forward to seeing (potentially when I play it myself, if not elsewhere) and hearing if there are more!
Nice, happy for those interested in this - personally, I'll stick to the playable Lego Mario sets (not only to use them to play together with my niece in the future, but also as funnily enough a friend gave me the standard kart of that line as a birthday present)!
@LotusFlowers Look at the trailer again to see that there are clips of the challenges in single player as well (it literally alternates between multiplayer and that) - again, regardless of opinions on the contents being worth it or not for you personally it's not okay to spread misinformation about them!
Thanks for the review, unfortunately while the Fatal Frame series has aspects that appeal to me it's horror of the disturbing kind which is definitely not for me - anyway, glad to hear this is overall good as is for those interested in it, but fingers crossed they can improve it through patches (I'd say there's a good chance that will be the case to an extent at least for the frame rate, especially since it's not an issue exclusive to Switch 2) so that it can become even better!
