@DarkTron Again, why wouldn't AdHoc be able to fully uncensor it outside of Japan at least after its release then if it's exclusively due to the CERO, the one build and so on?
The most logical answer is because it's actually also due to the second part of the conditions stated by Nintendo themselves and I quote once more since you all keep on ignoring it: "Nintendo requires all games on its platforms to receive ratings from independent organizations and to meet our established content and platform guidelines".
And if there's someone who should do better is you, I always strive to state the facts and then make educated guesses based on those (and it's exactly according to those that then I judge case by case if Nintendo are in the wrong or not and to what extent) in a polite manner while here you are not only accusing me of spreading false information, but also attacking me personally...
Preordered most of the highlighted games from my usual retailer here in Italy (the exceptions being Wonder as I'll just get the upgrade and the horror games although it's possible I'll get Requiem at least although I'm not sure if day one) - among the other games I preordered from them Ys and Cosmic Invasion while I'm considering importing Mega Man Star Force (while of course for CrossWorlds I simply got the upgrade)... and I'll try to get all the Wonder amiibo as well, most likely from the Italian My Nintendo Store!
North America for me as it shows the kind of action you'll find in this game because it's a "virtual 3D shooting game" instead of just telling you about it like Japan does (and beyond that which is what matters the most to me I definitely prefer the aesthetic of the former, too) - looking forward to finally giving Red Alarm a try myself now that Virtual Boy games are coming to NSO!
Love to hear that this now has a release date, that this time Image Uploader and cross-platform Community Creations are supported, that it's at least a Game-Key Card instead of a code-in-box etc. - so glad for those interested in it (if I ever want to play a WWE 2K game myself I'll get this and/or future ones with such features)!
Nice, happy for those already playing Octopath Traveler 0 and those who want to play it at some point - looking forward to doing so myself when I can and of course even more so after this update!
Really hope it will be available everywhere else at least (not a fan of limiting in-game contents to preorders, but still) as there's no reason to limit something digital in such a way - that said, hope those going for it will enjoy it!
Glad I had already made a Capcom ID for Street Fighter 6 so I was able to vote in this immediately - in the end I voted for K, but all these are great (regardless although even more so considering that, good luck to all those who submitted their designs for this)!
This morning an additional point actually came to mind, let's start with the straight up facts first and foremost.
According to articles on Time Expansion (based on what the creators themselves mentioned on Kickstarter), The Last Ninja Collection was supposed to come out on all platforms at the same time, but it got delayed considerably on console and Nintendo in particular raised "serious objections" to the appearance of the Rising Sun flag. Please check out the original articles for all the details, but what interests us is their final solution: locking the game on certain machines "in territories where the symbol causes offense, in particular Korea" to preserve "regional rules while preserving the historical authenticity of the collection elsewhere".
Now let's make an educated guess based also on that fact about the Dispatch case: what's preventing AdHoc from, if not back then because they didn't want to or straight up couldn't delay the current release or something like that at least now, implementing a line of code that disables the toggle exclusively for Japan or a similar solution if the issue is limited to that region to remove the imposed censorship elsewhere by reenabling the toggle and instead said that they'll "push an update to address at least some of the censored content" (added the italics myself to pinpoint that)?
I'm sorry but again, it's not just AdHoc's statement even though I'm also giving them the benefit of the doubt like I would do with anyone else, practically everything between the abovementioned fact, the altered contents if not straight up banning of other games exclusively on Nintendo platforms and so on points towards this censorship outside of Japan being due to Nintendo's guidelines first and foremost, including Nintendo's statement about this specific case...
Glad you got a 3D printer and so printed all this lovely stuff - I haven't one myself, but some of my friends do and so I got to see the results also in person (including the lock grip shown here or at least something similar)!
@jsty3105 Who's more likely to be at fault about the censoring (communicating it is another matter and AdHoc themselves mentioned that), the creators who released their game uncensored everywhere else or Nintendo who have censored game contents if not straight up banned several games exclusively due to their guidelines before despite them being rated without issues? Nintendo themselves said and I'll quote their statement again "Nintendo requires all games on its platforms to receive ratings from independent organizations and to meet our established content and platform guidelines", AdHoc now explicitly mentioned that it's due to the guidelines and yet somehow people still claim that it's not due to those...
@DarkTron I quote from the article about Nintendo's statement, ""Nintendo requires all games on its platforms to receive ratings from independent organizations and to meet our established content and platform guidelines" (I added the bold myself) and AdHoc in their statement explicitly mentions that "[o]ur game didn’t meet those guidelines" and so on - again, this is far from the first time games got censored if not straight up banned exclusively due to Nintendo's guidelines despite having been rated without issues...
The completely new games by Nintendo first and foremost so in order of release date Mario Tennis Fever, Pokopia, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Fortune's Weave and Splatoon Raiders, but I'm excited for most games already announced for Switch 2 (and also Switch) in general and I'm so looking forward to seeing what else both Nintendo and third parties have in store for us this year!

on YouTube Banana Rumble (played all Battle rules and stages offline);
Mario Land 1 and 2 (second game completed; both games completed);
Love to hear that the game got built and they're now working on optimization, looking forward to hearing and especially seeing more of the Switch 2 version of Rebirth whenever they're ready to share it - in the meantime, I'm excited to finally play Remake myself when I can (and again, even more so since I'll properly start playing mainline Final Fantasy with it instead of the little I've played of a couple of them here)!
Unfortunate for those who don't have Switch 2 yet, but at the same time it makes sense (glad that there shouldn't be issues in the passage between these version according to this) - anyway, hope people interested in playing Apex Legends on Switch 2 will enjoy it!
Why are most still claiming that it isn't due to Nintendo's ridiculous guidelines despite this statement and especially everything else that has happened due to them for more than a decade and especially in the latest years, i.e. altered game contents if not straight up banning of games?
Again, this is despite Dispatch getting rated and with an 18+ etc. at that without issues and so coming out on other platforms as is (except for Japan where it had to get censored but only there as shown by the PS5 version and regardless, in general we've seen Japanese games getting banned outside of Japan despite not having rating issues), a game like Cyberpunk somehow being fine as is and so on... hope they'll be able to find a compromise and so at least somewhat improve this version but again, this is exactly why I've been warning people against censorship in general and in particular Nintendo's all this time!
Love to see FF7 Remake on top - would've loved to see it sell even more, but as also kind of mentioned in the article all games have lower sales these weeks in the Japanese charts which makes sense after the holiday spending other than of course the game having come out on other platforms before and more than 20k in a single week is nothing to sneeze at anyway! Also personally happy to see Mario Kart World in 2nd, New Horizons in 3rd and 4th, Dynasty Warriors Origins debuting in 5th (now that I really wish sold more), Legends Z-A in 7th and 8th, Momotaro Dentetsu in 9th and 10th and of course Switch 2 still at the top of the hardware charts and selling that much!
Love to further hear that so many developers are interested in Switch 2 and considering when it came out the percentage of those who worked on it for their most recent game isn't bad either - fingers crossed we'll see more and more games coming also to it (even better if on the same day as other platforms, but getting them in the first place is what matters the most to me)!
Yeah, can see where they are coming from (both what Yokō-san said here and what Kamiya-san does), there are some crazy people online and especially social media - anyway, will watch the whole episode when I can!
Thanks for the interview and even more so since I've never heard about these games and their creators before (nice the focus on the latter especially at first instead of exclusively the former) - now that it's confirmed they'll eventually come also to Switch 1 and 2 I'm definitely interested in giving them a try myself!
@Res462 Unfortunately that's due to this apparently having a different publisher in the US, White Owl - thought that could be the case again based on what's mentioned at the end of the article, but also checked on US Amazon (while on the Italian one for sure and potentially other European ones they're obviously just selling the UK version).
Had no doubt personally (and to be honest some of the worries mentioned show how little certain people know about videogames and/or their lack of patience) but still, glad he responded, this kind of communication instead of mostly if not completely absence of it is always appreciated and even more so if your game is taking longer than expected - anyway, looking forward to Haunted Chocolatier whenever it comes out although I should properly play Stardew Valley myself first and foremost!
Will eventually get Dispatch - as already mentioned it being on Switch 2 and/or Steam depends on when I can get it and now also if they can hopefully get rid of the censorship outside of Japan if it's exclusively due to that and not also Nintendo's ridiculous guidelines like for Neptunia etc. -, GRID Legends and Nickelodeon Splat Pack for sure, maybe also 4PGP at some point, not the Toree collection just because I already have all its games except for Saturn and that should be it (unless of course I missed something and/or potential addition thanks to later comments, usually I don't explicitly mention it anymore but it always applies and I'm doing so now just because I wanted to thank everyone for their comments)!
@Res462 You can see why at the end of the article - there's no good reason to review it later when they got a copy now and the book is already out in the UK (and by the way also available on Italian Amazon as I've just ordered it myself, wouldn't be surprised if the same applied to other European countries as well) just because it's coming out later in the US...
Thanks for the review, absolutely getting this book as soon as I can and even more so considering that I've never lost my love for Pokémon throughout these years (there have been highs and lows for sure both objectively and personally not to mention that I've practically always preferred the spin-offs to the mainline games, but still) - yet another great way to celebrate the 30th anniversary, I'm so looking forward to seeing what else people and especially The Pokémon Company etc. have in store for it... fingers crossed for more games as in both rereleases and new ones!
This is exactly why more than worrying about AI as a whole including those using it in ways such as Larian's (and their transparency on how they use it, I've just learned that they even updated their policy) I'd rather focus on those misusing it like this and even more so those replacing their workers with it (again, Larian is a great example of not doing that, in fact they "are hiring more" concept artists) - I keep on seeing hopes about the bubble popping, but if the result ended up being the same as the Dot-com bubble then the situation would be even worse as AI wouldn't go anywhere like the World Wide Web and Internet didn't and it would remain in the hands of few most likely including Google, the company mentioned in this very article...
Again, wouldn't be surprised if the Tomodachi Life Direct happened yesterday exactly or at least also for this reason - anyway, hope those who still want to get that and/or other games digitally with the vouchers will be able to purchase them today (not me included as I get games physically whenever possible because not only it's my preference, but also more often than not I get the same if not better discounts that way and even day one)!
Appreciate the pun in Hugh Morris's name, but I definitely preferred Bubbles and all the other characters in the UK version (and yeah as expected it applies also to the other European ones including the Italian one that I've watched) - looking forward to seeing myself the differences in the Japanese version when I watch it for my channel tonight!
Unsurprising but still, good that they confirmed they're working on the problems present in the older demo build for the full release (and most likely also patches after the game has come out, but fingers crossed they'll be able to fix as many as possible before that) - regardless, looking forward to Kiwami 3... as usual not anytime soon for me as I'm currently playing 0 and have Kiwami 1 and 2 to play before it, but still!
That's really cool, happy for those going for it (potentially me included at some point, but for now I'm looking forward to playing Legends Z-A myself when I can first and foremost) - fingers crossed this soundtrack comes sooner rather than later to Nintendo Music, too!
Absolutely, in fact I've already preordered it from my usual retailer here in Italy (hopefully the delays that affected them will stop before this comes out, if they don't then I'll consider cancelling it and getting it elsewhere) - was already so looking forward to this, but definitely even more so after watching the Direct!
@RickStar By the way, I've now clarified my point also in my first comment (sorry that it wasn't clear from the start, had just woken up) - thanks for your reply and so making me realize to do that!
@RickStar Really hope it's exclusively due to that in the case of Dispatch as then they could and should simply leave the Japanese version as is and release an update outside of Japan to reenable the toggle or something along those lines as already mentioned by others here - that said, let's not just look at the tree instead of the forest, Nintendo's guidelines absolutely have forced developers to censor their games and when they didn't straight up banned their games from being released at least in most regions, again despite them being rated without issues as is and so coming out on other platforms... and ironically more often than not Japanese games so in that unfortunately way more common case (here's a list of the ones that luckily have an Asian English release to counter the banning for non-Japanese speakers but still, sales have most certainly been lost due to this which is what saddens me the most even beyond the principle in itself) it's clearly not the fault of CERO or any other rating board!
As luckily at least some here have already mentioned, there still is in general for sure and potentially even in this case the censorship due to the ridiculous, also in the sense that somehow a game like Cyberpunk is perfectly fine as is while Dispatch and so on aren't, platform guidelines of Nintendo (of America most of the time and unfortunately by extension Europe) that force developers to censor their own games unless they want them to be straight up banned (mostly in the regions under the abovementioned branches), again despite them being rated without issues and so getting released on other platforms, just look at Neptunia etc.!
@LastFootnote Maybe less frequently and practically never day one, but I know for sure retailers eventually discount games even in the US (here are the latest Black Friday deals on Switch 2 games for example, but I've seen people in comments and forums here on Nintendo Life mention several other ones throughout the years) - that said, it's exactly why I said potentially when it comes to those while for sure and day one the vouchers (now unsurprisingly Tomodachi Life is included also on the US page) other than of course eventual discounts digitally on most games including Nintendo ones as you can see on Deku Deals...
Again, I don't get why there's this insistence on the starting prices despite all that and it also greatly saddens me as it overshadows the games themselves and the work of the fellow human beings whose livelihoods depend on them!
And as usual people are obsessed with the starting price, again despite it being lowered thanks to discounts eventually if not even day one thanks to retailers potentially and in this case for sure the vouchers (wouldn't be surprised if this Direct happened right before the discontinuation of those on purpose) - even less surprising considering all those disregarding this game and the Tomodachi Life series as a whole despite its sales by questioning if not straight up complaining about it getting a Direct...
Leaving that aside, nice boxart, looking forward to my physical copy also considering that other than of course to play it!
Wouldn't be surprised if it were yet another consequence of the "safer gaming" principles update - regardless, this is such a dumb restriction in every sense, starting with it not stopping at all people (especially those actually misusing these while just making it more inconvenient for everyone else) from taking screenshots/clips anyway in other ways as already mentioned here...
Excellent, it perfectly did its purpose of presenting the game in general also to those who've never seen/heard of Tomodachi Life while overall showing how expanded it is compared to the 3DS version (would've been great to know if some features, especially bigger ones, from that version are back or not like the Concert Hall though) and of course announcing the precise release date - as expected looking forward to it even more than I already was!
Glad this now has a release date and even more so since it's relatively soon - definitely interested in at least giving this a try now that it's coming also to Switch 2 (if I can I'll take part in the Open Beta Test on stream, I should be able to since apparently it lasts until 23rd/24th February depending on one's time zone)!
Unsurprising based on everything I've heard about GAME here and elsewhere but still, sad to hear for those who'll most likely be affected by this just like last time as mentioned by the article!
As expected it's Tomodachi Life, just better than ever - so many options (again, the more options the better whenever feasible and this game shows exactly why) for the Mii themselves, their relationships, the island and so on... can't wait for it and luckily we won't have to wait that long, as predicted it's coming in April!
Voting for Virtual Bart for sure as it's both strange (makes sense for that game, but still) and brutal - anyway, only knew about a couple of these so thanks for this article!
More MicroSD Express Cards is definitely not a bad thing and regardless, happy for those going for this one (not me included, already got a 1TB one) - leaving that aside, good to hear Requiem should require 29.2GB, it's relatively little for a game of its kind!
As others mentioned here and also last time this most likely is also testing for Splatoon 4 - anyway, pretty cool addition, hope and luckily seems to be the case based on most comments here those playing 3 will enjoy it (not me included, I'm interested mostly if not exclusively in the single player whenever I properly play these games myself, potentially starting with Raiders)!
Yep, this set looks even better after seeing it in detail in the video than it already did in my opinion (the inclusion of the Megaton Hammer is a nice and hilarious detail) - not sure if day one, but I'm definitely interested in getting it myself!
Most likely whenever I play it myself I'll stick to the performance mode also in docked just like PJ, I don't need the best graphics possible and apparently those are still overall great even in performance mode while I'll gladly take 60fps when available and even more so for a game like this - that said, glad to hear what Digital Foundry mentioned in this article (as much as games coming to Switch 2 is what matters first and foremost to me I'm so happy we're getting such great ports)!

Re: Feature: "You Do Feel A Little Intimidated" - BROKENCIGS Discuss Being Scooped On Their Game Concept & NYC's Dev Scene
Thanks for the interview and even more so since I've never heard about these games and their creators before (nice the focus on the latter especially at first instead of exclusively the former) - now that it's confirmed they'll eventually come also to Switch 1 and 2 I'm definitely interested in giving them a try myself!
Re: Book Review: The History Of The Pokémon Games - A Light, Informative Blast To The Past
@Res462 Unfortunately that's due to this apparently having a different publisher in the US, White Owl - thought that could be the case again based on what's mentioned at the end of the article, but also checked on US Amazon (while on the Italian one for sure and potentially other European ones they're obviously just selling the UK version).
Re: "I Am Not Going To Abandon Haunted Chocolatier" - ConcernedApe Responds To Fan Concerns
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th January (North America)
Re: Book Review: The History Of The Pokémon Games - A Light, Informative Blast To The Past
Re: Book Review: The History Of The Pokémon Games - A Light, Informative Blast To The Past
Re: Google's 'Project Genie' Is Basically A Huge Plagiarism Tool, So When Will Nintendo's Legal Ninjas Strike?
Re: Reminder: Today's Your Last Day To Buy Switch Game Vouchers
Again, wouldn't be surprised if the Tomodachi Life Direct happened yesterday exactly or at least also for this reason - anyway, hope those who still want to get that and/or other games digitally with the vouchers will be able to purchase them today (not me included as I get games physically whenever possible because not only it's my preference, but also more often than not I get the same if not better discounts that way and even day one)!
Re: Random: Bubbles Or Hugh? The Tomodachi Life Nintendo Direct May Have Been Different In Your Region
Re: Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Dev Acknowledges Demo's "Graphical Issues", Launch Update Planned
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A "Complete" Five CD Soundtrack Announced For Japan
That's really cool, happy for those going for it (potentially me included at some point, but for now I'm looking forward to playing Legends Z-A myself when I can first and foremost) - fingers crossed this soundtrack comes sooner rather than later to Nintendo Music, too!
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream For Switch?
Absolutely, in fact I've already preordered it from my usual retailer here in Italy (hopefully the delays that affected them will stop before this comes out, if they don't then I'll consider cancelling it and getting it elsewhere) - was already so looking forward to this, but definitely even more so after watching the Direct!
Re: Nintendo Responds To Dispatch Switch Censorship With Official Statement
@RickStar By the way, I've now clarified my point also in my first comment (sorry that it wasn't clear from the start, had just woken up) - thanks for your reply and so making me realize to do that!
Re: Nintendo Responds To Dispatch Switch Censorship With Official Statement
Re: Nintendo Responds To Dispatch Switch Censorship With Official Statement
As luckily at least some here have already mentioned, there still is in general for sure and potentially even in this case the censorship due to the ridiculous, also in the sense that somehow a game like Cyberpunk is perfectly fine as is while Dispatch and so on aren't, platform guidelines of Nintendo (of America most of the time and unfortunately by extension Europe) that force developers to censor their own games unless they want them to be straight up banned (mostly in the regions under the abovementioned branches), again despite them being rated without issues and so getting released on other platforms, just look at Neptunia etc.!
Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream's Price And Box Art Have Been Revealed
Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream's Price And Box Art Have Been Revealed
And as usual people are obsessed with the starting price, again despite it being lowered thanks to discounts eventually if not even day one thanks to retailers potentially and in this case for sure the vouchers (wouldn't be surprised if this Direct happened right before the discontinuation of those on purpose) - even less surprising considering all those disregarding this game and the Tomodachi Life series as a whole despite its sales by questioning if not straight up complaining about it getting a Direct...
Leaving that aside, nice boxart, looking forward to my physical copy also considering that other than of course to play it!
Re: Nintendo Restricting Some Image Sharing Features For Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream
Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Nintendo Direct: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?
Excellent, it perfectly did its purpose of presenting the game in general also to those who've never seen/heard of Tomodachi Life while overall showing how expanded it is compared to the 3DS version (would've been great to know if some features, especially bigger ones, from that version are back or not like the Concert Hall though) and of course announcing the precise release date - as expected looking forward to it even more than I already was!
Re: Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Lands March Release Date On Switch 2
Re: UK Retailer GAME Is Reportedly On The Verge Of Collapse Once Again
Unsurprising based on everything I've heard about GAME here and elsewhere but still, sad to hear for those who'll most likely be affected by this just like last time as mentioned by the article!
Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Moves In On Switch 1 This April
As expected it's Tomodachi Life, just better than ever - so many options (again, the more options the better whenever feasible and this game shows exactly why) for the Mii themselves, their relationships, the island and so on... can't wait for it and luckily we won't have to wait that long, as predicted it's coming in April!
Re: Feature: 11 Of The Strangest Game Over Screens On Nintendo Consoles
@PJOReilly I think there's a typo when you can fix it, "Or I've when I've suddenly turned into a very evil-looking goat."
Re: Feature: 11 Of The Strangest Game Over Screens On Nintendo Consoles
Voting for Virtual Bart for sure as it's both strange (makes sense for that game, but still) and brutal - anyway, only knew about a couple of these so thanks for this article!
Re: Random: This Fan Is Ripping Nintendo's Finest Tunes Onto Vinyl, Including The 3DS Menu Theme
Pretty cool, happy for Huappy Spins - my favorite (aesthetically, but it's also an incredible soundtrack) among those linked in the article is Galaxy!
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Is Getting A Themed MicroSD Express Card
More MicroSD Express Cards is definitely not a bad thing and regardless, happy for those going for this one (not me included, already got a 1TB one) - leaving that aside, good to hear Requiem should require 29.2GB, it's relatively little for a game of its kind!
Re: Surprise! Splatoon 3's First Update Of 2026 Has Added Health Bars
Re: Video: Get A Closer Look At LEGO's New Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Set In This First Review
Yep, this set looks even better after seeing it in detail in the video than it already did in my opinion (the inclusion of the Megaton Hammer is a nice and hilarious detail) - not sure if day one, but I'm definitely interested in getting it myself!
Re: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Tech Review Of Grid Legends On Switch 2
Most likely whenever I play it myself I'll stick to the performance mode also in docked just like PJ, I don't need the best graphics possible and apparently those are still overall great even in performance mode while I'll gladly take 60fps when available and even more so for a game like this - that said, glad to hear what Digital Foundry mentioned in this article (as much as games coming to Switch 2 is what matters first and foremost to me I'm so happy we're getting such great ports)!
